I was heartbroken when I realized that my diamond ring, given to me by my late husband, had a chip in the diamond. After contacting gemologists, I realized the diamond needed to be replaced. My new husband had befriended Sophia and James through The TriVillage Rotary and spoke so highly of them that I decided to contact them about my diamond search. Trying to decide on the perfect engagement ring is difficult at the best of times, but with most stores shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic I was truely worried about whether I would be able to find what I was looking for. Fortunately for me, Jim and Sophia at DP&J were not deterred by these challenges.Jim and Sophia took the time to sit with me in a series of 1 on 1 appointments to introduce me to the world of gems and jewelry, teaching me the basics of what makes a fantastic diamond and providing detailed examples from their inventory. As I came to know what I wanted in the ring, they worked with suppliers (many of whom were closed) to get different gems sent so I could compare them in person. Lastly, upon deciding on the right ring, they worked with their contacts to make sure I received it in a timely manner even though the design I wanted was not initially available due to various shutdowns across the country.My experience at Diamonds, Pearls and Jade was fantastic, and I hope to be back before too long to work on wedding rings!

I visited every possible jeweler in the state of Ohio in search of the perfect engagement ring that was not a mass produced hunk of gold that are a dime-a-dozen nowadays. After months of searching the entire state for the one ring that as soon as you see it, you’ll feel as if the universe made something only you were destined to have. So I gave up looking for a couple months and began losing hope. The covid-19 pandemic finally reached the U.S and It was about to teach me a hard lesson. The girl I love was in New York on business when the government declared a national emergency and applied the health safety restrictions on the public. She became stuck near NYC for a couple extra day’s until she could safety make the trip home, she contracted the virus and down there. Her flu-like symptoms very quickly turned into her body shutting down and only a couple days passed before she couldn’t breathe on her own anymore so a ventilator was used. It was almost a full month later when I received a call and was told the ventilator was removed the night before and all signs are pointing to recovery. When I hung up the phone I went to finally find the ring I almost never got to give her. The universe must have lead the way because I found the ring I was destined to give her, at the very first place I went too. Being completely ignorant of jewelry, I had no idea what to expect with an engagement ring appointment at Diamonds Pearls and Jade. The appointment was actually enjoyable and a piece of cake.
