I love this shop! So many reasons to shop here. Whether you are into quilting, making garments/bags, knitting, crochet - you will have a great selection of fabrics and yarns. In addition they carry tons of notions and special items perfect for gift giving.I’ve taken two different classes at the shop and have been impressed each time with the teacher’s professionalism and patience.A bathroom is located in the basement via an elevator and there is plenty of parking in a lot next to the shop.
Sew to speak is such a fantastic shop. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, great classes too! And they stock such high quality and interesting fabrics that I couldnt find elsewhere in the city. I cannot say enough good things. Oh and if you are looking for a good sewing machine, get yourself here and get a juki. You will NOT regret it
Such a gem of a spot. I dont dabble in the fabric arts myself, but my wife frequents the shop and has taken a few classes. A great set up, great selection, kind staff. Definitely worth your time!
Extremely friendly staff, always helpful and inspiring !
My wife and I were driving through the Columbus area and stopped here after reading the Google maps page for Sew to Speak. I hung outside with our dog while my wife went inside. Nearly immediately she texted me that its an incredible place. She came out 40 min later since it was closing. Shes still taking about how wonderful the store was and how nice the staff were. We love in NC and will stop again when were in Ohio.
The owner and her staff are so knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Thank you.
I drove down to visit all the shops in the Columbus area. I could not find this shop, despite driving along High Street where the address was located multiple times. Perhaps a sign somewhere outside would be helpful.
10/10 love this shop the owner is the best grandma i could ever ask for lol THE BEST SUCH A GREAT SHOP !!
Very cute little store!
Sew To Speak saved my family when production lines for PPE shut down in March. I was able to make masks to protect my family and we really appreciated the online ordering and contactless pickup options. Thank you!
The shop is cute, has a large selection and features modern fabric lines. The prices were fair and the staff was friendly. However I cannot give it 5 stars or return to the store as they have made it a point to make their political beliefs known. Besides thinking they are ill informed on the matter, im mostly frustrated bc a lot of us crafters/artists/sewers are diving into our hobbies to get away from that stuff. They have unfortunately turned what should be a place of refuge into the front line.
Wonderfully friendly staff, and a huge yarn selection! Love it here!
Great selection of fabrics, yarns, and patterns. Friendly, very helpful staff - mailed a Row by Row pattern to me out of state, when the particular color set I wanted was out of stock. If visiting for the first time - call - its a little tricky to get into
The owner is the friendliest lady Ive ever met and I love her selection of fabrics and yarn! There are sale bolts upstairs to check out and they do run great sales here and there.
Great gem of a niche sewing shop. [Caveat: my lovely wife is the seamstress]. What a great place. We happened upon Sew to Speak on their birthday and had a blast. They have great fabric, machines and even spinning supplies. Thats spinning, like making your own yarn, not spinning like cardio at the gym. Friendly and welcoming staff.
Really pleasant and accepting environment. Super cute patterns. Will definitely be going back soon.
This is the place my girl calls the fancy fabric store. This is the place to go when you are looking for fabric, yarn and sewing things you just cant find anywhere else. Staff is very attentive and knowledgeable and they always seem to have new things with every visit.
This place is so peaceful and calming. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They take every question seriously, even if you know its one that they get multiple times a day. They have really nice quality fabrics, wonderful yarn, and really reasonable prices. I love this place!
We always recommend this place to our students. They have the BEST and biggest selection of quality fabric in the area for clothing and quilting.
I like this place a lot because it has unique fabrics I really like ( I am a quilter). The selection of fabrics is not huge but what they have is very good. Prices are comparable to other quilt shops. Since they moved from Beechwold, they have a lot more room (now they are in the former old Worthington library). What I especially like is that you can ask dumb questions and they are very helpful even to less experienced quilters. They also have unique notions and some very fine yarn now.
Great small business. Very nice owner. Big cool sewing machine to check out. Couch to comfortably sit while waiting for your wife to get whatever else she thinks she might need, even though she could stock a small store with all the stuff she already has.
Sew to Speak is THE best sewing shop in central Ohio! Friendly service, amazing selection, and a great environment for inspiration and shopping.
This is just simply the most charming shop! Friendly staff, all the latest patterns and fabrics. And they teach tons of classes. A must see for sewists!
Beautiful fabric store! Love the selection of fabrics and notions. Unique patterns and fun sewing classes. Very friendly staff.
Very nice store, nice mix. Probably best for cottons, but a few fun knots too. Interesting patterns sprinkled throughout. Friendly staff.
I love Sew to Speak! Anita & all of her employees are just wonderful; knowledgeable, helpful, & friendly. The fabrics, yarns, notions & patterns they carry are just phenomenal - ranging from lovely to fun & quirky, & everything in between. The classes are possibly the best part, though - offered regularly & at various times, of a wide range & variety of types of project, difficulty level, & price. The teachers are universally awesome, & with the smaller class sizes you really get the help you need to make any of the skills youll learn much less intimidating. Its a great environment (the former library building!!) - a friendly, welcoming, & comfortable place to settle in & do some crafting with good people. This place is truly a gem.
Some of the best selection of designer fabric lines like Art Gallery, Cotton + Steel, Robert Kaufman, and Cloud 9 Collective. Carry all different types of fabrics, not just quilting cottons. Theyre my first stop when shopping for garment fabric!
I love Sew to Speak! I take classes here, purchase fabric here and even bought my first sewing machine here just recently. The ladies at Sew to Speak are very knowledgeable and ready to help and always armed with easy smiles and wit to assist you!
A wonderful place with everything youd expect for knitting and sewing. My 8 year old daughter took a sewing class here and I think shes hooked! 😆
Stopped in needing thread and something to patch a linen curtain. I cant recall the name of the woman who helped me but she was fantastically knowledgeable and helpful! A great local place to shop!
So much eye candy for a quilter and seamstress!! I could easily spend hours just looking at books and patterns and feeling the fabric. Oh, and they have yarn, too..
See to Speak is a treasure! The fabrics they carry are fantastic and there is great variety. The yarn is no different. But the best part about this shop is its knowledgeable and friendly staff.
This store is impeccably curated: a beautiful selection of patterned fabrics, a few organic fabrics, not many solids. The owner was very helpful to all the customers in the shop; more specifically, she helped me select fabric by weight and advised me on what types of fabric work best for the projects I was tackling. Anything I did not know, or the store did not carry, she was able to find or advise me on a solution.(A+) customer service(B+) fabric selection (I wish there had been more 10 oz/upholstery grade fabrics and minimalist organic fabrics for the projects I wanted to do)
I popped into Sew to Speak a few weeks ago to buy fabric for some curtains I was making. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and they had a great selection of adorable, high quality fabrics. The prices were pretty steep, but I think thats to be expected in a small store like this.
This is a great place to shop for beginner sewers, the staff is experinced and helpful. They really have great passion for sewing and love to share their knowledge. It beats wandering the the big box stores with no help. Experienced sewers will love the selection of high quality modern fabric. The patterns are outside of the box but very practical. Patterns not your typical brands fresh and fun!
Beautiful small shop with lovely fabrics and great patterns. Personnel is ready to answer questions and help with what ever you need. Did I mention the fabric? For a small shop the latest and coolest fabrics. Definitely not the same fabrics found elsewhere!
Wonderful collection of unique fabrics, yarns and patterns. The store is spacious and well lit with helpful sales associates. Make sure to go upstairs to check out the clearance section.
Very very nice and helpful staff. Beautiful yarn, fabric and do-dads
This cute shop has one of the best quilting fabric selections in town.
Hard to get up the steps with my rollator. Found out accidently about the elevator. Ironically the elevator had a tent and other stuff that hindered my exit. Their was no street sign and only curb side parking for 6 vehicles. It was okay. Wont go back, staff was not friendly. The space was open, but the whole process of maneuverability was rather frustrating. My phone time had more energy than my in store experience.
I absolutely love this fabric store. They have good fabric choices, thread, and other sewing items. They have sewing classes for a decent price and are always nice.
I personally am not a sewer but I rode along with a friend! It has so many different fabrics to choose from! They also have samples of hats shirts scarves and you can sign up to com for a class! Very cool place!
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences with Sew to Speak. I have now taken two sewing classes in the store and both have been great. I would definitely recommend them and would take more classes. The teachers have been knowledgeable and helpful.
This shop has a great selection of very cute and trendy fabrics. The workers are friendly and helpful. They are more expensive than the Big Box craft stores, but the selection is worth it!
Beautiful fabrics and yarn, and they carry modern patterns by companies like Grainline Studios and 100 Acts of Sewing!
Contemporary fabrics - selection on the small side. Store is spacious, nicely decorated. Neat notions. Staff was friendly.
Great fabric selection. The staff was pleasant and shared some great project ideas.
The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They were able to help pick out materials and give advice to my daughter who is new to sewing.
Amazing customer service. They helped us find exactly what we were looking for!
I love the classes here! Staff is genuinely kind and helpful. Its a haven for sure.
Love, love, love- staff person could not have been more helpful.
Very nice. Consumer service is amazing.
They have fun sewing, knitting and crocheting supplies!
Very good. Owner was very helpfulPrices were reasonable.
Lovely, wonderful, fabulous!I love this shop and cant wait to go back to Columbus so I can go again! Not to be missed... Quilters and seamstresses alike!
Very nice shop and instructor. Took a sewing 101 class, and supply list listed on website when I signed up for class listed fabric and other misc. tools. The class cost was paid for ahead of time. Website said you were free to bring you own fabric if you wanted. I decided to just use what the store supplied. Finished up my class only to be informed that my pillow case I made in the class, the fabric to use it was gonna cost me an additional $15.So my reason for giving this shop 3 stars is because their website was misleading.Needs to be more clearly stated, such as the phrase that should of been used should be that the fabric is “an additional cost.” If website would of said that, it wouldn’t of been a surprise cost.
Great! Nice shop, nice people.
Lovely fabrics, wonderful staff and a serene atmosphere! The classes are taught by highly qualified and helpful people. Overall, my favorite place to go in Columbus!!
Cute with tons of personality and some kitschy, hard-to-find patterned fabric, but ultimately WAY too expensive for my budget.
Super selection of fabric and yarn. Gracious, knowledgeable staff.
They our a great help with all your sewing needs.
Great sewing and fabric shop. They have a lot of interesting classes.
Very cute, but limited inventory
Spacious store. Contemporary fabrics. Friendly staff.
