Our first stop in Columbus was to Lucabe Coffee Co. I got a simple black drip coffee and my wife got an ice coffee with cream and sugar. After drinking Keurig the previous day, it was exactly what we needed. We also got these AMAZING breakfast croissants that were stuffed with sausage, egg, and cheese. Id never had anything quite like it from another coffee shop before. It was like a breakfast calzone more than a sandwich. Absolutely delicious and original. The shop has outdoor seating where we enjoyed all of it, and the barista complimented my wifes outfit. Wed return again for sure.
I ordered the Brazil blend and it was terrific. Nice area to sit and enjoy your coffee, too.
My family LOVES Lucabe Coffee!!! Such a community focused place to meet up with friends or business partners and enjoy great coffee! Always thankful that it’s kid-friendly too! Having moved out of the country, it’s a #1 miss and a #1 request for friends to bring us Lucabe coffee when we see them! We even brought it with us to South Africa to help us make the transition smoother!
This is the new PB+J iced coffee..... You wouldnt think that peanut butter and jelly would mix with coffee. But this is the perfect blend of the two. At first I was a little sceptical...... However I was pleasantly surprised when I first sipped this coffee. I was not prepared for the wave of delicious coffee molecules that embraced my taste buds. To any adventurous souls, this is the coffee for you!
Got their mango strawberry smoothie and a mango lemonade. They were both really strong flavors and were delicious and refreshing. There could have been a bit more strawberry flavor to the smoothie but I love mango and it is kind of overpowering so I didnt feel upset by it. They had a steady line but never a long wait, which was really nice and I didnt have to wait long for my drinks. Their prices were very reasonable for such a nice place in a downtown area. They have a play area for kids which was awesome and clearly well kept. Would definitely return and recommend!
Enough good cannot be said about this gem of a coffee shop! It’s has a gorgeous aesthetic and vibe. Chill, on-trend, and completely comfortable & inviting. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, super-friendly, and very professional. Their latte art is on point! As a repeat customer, I can say that every specialty coffee, every pastry, and every dessert I’ve had from Lucabe has been DELICIOUS.
I love going to Lucabe! The staff is so friendly all the time and the service is quick. They use high quality beans and the lattes and coffee are delicious. Its beautifully decorated with lots of art from local artists, I love that Lucabe is part of the Columbus downtown.
Love the atmosphere, love the service, and most importantly, love the coffee. i had the pleasure of working for Lucabe for about a year and a half and i’m so so thankful for that time. The customers were so kind and the management and staff encouraged me to be the best me i could be. nothing but love for this coffee shop.
Love me some Lucabe! Great coffee and prices! My son loved the play area as well which gave me a second to edit this review so I could mention it!
Our family loves Lucabe! The friendly service, delicious coffee and treats, and welcoming environment is great. We visit once a week at minimum. Thank you for providing such a wonderful space for our community Lucabe! We are thrilled to visit the new location when it opens. Highly recommend .
This is a super awesome coffee shop! Comfy, roomy indoor seating with a childs play area. Very nice vintage lighting and art displays. Plenty of glass and natural light. Plenty of outdoor seating along 4th street a rustic yet modern view. Fresh baked items abound.Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. My latte order was not noted correctly …they quickly remade it and gave me a spiced bakery bar!! A must see in Columbus!
Interesting ownership of this business blocks negative comments on FB. If you openly dont support certain people groups.. put it on your sign. So we all know. This local business will no longer get my $Grahams is around the corner and very accepting of everyone.
My favorite local coffee shop! They never mess up my order. My fav drink is the Rosie latte (decaf) made with oat milk and a morning glory muffin!
The drinks were good but the service was VERY slow. Im not willing to wait that long.
Great friendly staff! Most shots in their espresso drinks for SIMILAR price as other coffee shops. Great play area for small children!!
I always get the apricot and peach green tea and often have a yogurt parfait. The service is amazing. It’s the perfect start to my day.
I love visiting Lucabes to get my morning going. The staff are very helpful recommending new things to try, very courteous, professional, and friendly. The power acai bowl is on point. Plenty of quiet nooks to get some reading/work done or have a meeting.
Best coffee in town. And love to treat myself with a bag of beans to make in the AeroPress at home. Delicious!
Amazing coffee and welcoming environment! I absolutely love this coffee shop and the vibe it brings to downtown Columbus! I can’t wait to visit the mew location!
Such a warm and welcoming environment! Excellent coffee, lovely staff! Come one, come all! Dont miss out!
Great service and drinks. Definitely the place to be if you want to try a unique latte flavor-blackberry vanilla is awesome!
Great little coffee shop. Has a cute play area. Drinks were good. Lots of seating, staff was friendly, and everything was very clean.
We drive an hour just to come to this coffee shop! Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about their coffee. We tried their cinnamon roll (only available on Saturday) and their oatmeal cookie, both were great! We especially love coming to this place because of the kids area. They have a reading loft and a kitchen the kids can play in. They have a private meeting room that doubles as a private study area. Plently of outlets to keep all of your technology charged. Highly recommend this coffee shop.
The coffee is delicious! No doubt about that. The hours on the other hand- not so much. Theyre one of the only small local shops, but they close before I (and many others) even get off of work. I would indulge more often of they were only open more. For sure. Friendly service though, and kid friendly, which is unique.
Coffee is decent- cramped and poor lay out. Additionally these folks are ultra right conservatives who believe the LGBTQA community are making a “choice” that will send you to hell. This are the kind of folks who think there is a war on Christmas (Check out Tyler’s personal page.). Gramz is a much more welcoming community business and their coffee and food are better to boot.
Wonderful place to be! Great service, friendly staff, nice play area for kids and a fun menu! 😊
One of our favorite spots. The coffee is always delicious. The staff is always super friendly and we really enjoy the relaxing feel of the interior. Wonderful place to sit for an hour or 2 and socialize.
Great coffee shop. Right in downtown Columbus. Lots of seating divided up into areas in addition to outdoor seating.Chess to play. Theres a childrens play house/play area inside. A conference/meeting room is available for rent. They have merchandise, accessories, and coffee for sale in addition to the drinks. Good menu. Talented baritas as well. Definitely a top notch coffee shop.
Nice cozy shop with great coffee and service.
Love this place! Always great service and excellent coffee!
Coffe really good...1 of my routine morning...peoples there are awesome and nice !Thank you Culabe .
There was a girl at Lucabe that helped me and her name was macy, she was very polite and very very nice!
Delicious coffee. Great breakfast croissant. Really good service.
We enjoy the coffee and the atmosphere. Im looking forward to the new location!
The few times Ive been this place has always been great! Excited to check out their new location when it is complete.
We love Lucabe! The coffee, staff, design and kids’ play space are amazing. Thank you for a fun, delicious, beautiful spot to meet friends and make memories.
It would be better if it welcome all and not exclusive. Not a good vibe and overpriced.
Amazing drinks and treats! Staff is ALWAYS welcoming to everyone!
Great espresso, nice people, friendly place even have a nice kids play area
Wonderful atmosphere with friendly staff and great service! Not to mention delicious!
Extremely unreceptive to very easy questions. Not at all a welcoming atmosphere.
Good Coffee Shop for Columbus. Espresso drinks get 4 stars from me. Pastries could be better and most importantly they should ask before they heat your pastry. Croissants are not to be heated. Heating a croissant makes them soggy rather than light and flaky like theyre supposed to be this was a big disappointment. It should be asked of the customer whether or not they would like their pastry heated.
Loved this little shop. The staff was friendly & my iced tuxedo latte was amazing. The flavor was so delicious and more bang for my buck compared to other coffee stops.
A wonderful place to get coffee and meet friends.
Very friendly staff, and amazing coffee/ pastries!
My favorite coffee shop. Cory is simply the best. Fast and friendly service. A very efficient shop, nice space to be in. Always a good experience.
I met my beautiful wife here! :)
Great little shop that offers dine-in and carryout options. Latte was perfect and the service friendly and quick. Most of the parking along this section of 4th Street is for carryout only, though its easy to find parking around the corner on the weekend, which was when I was there. Forget the large chains and search put the local gems like Lucabe! Ill be back.
I love coming here.Concise menu, quality options, good accommodations for dietary needs. Healthy choices. Beautiful design. Love the play area for my kids. The beauty makes it a happy place for self care and chillin.
This is most favorite coffee shop in Columbus and Indianapolis area. The staff is phenomenal there! The interior, service, beverages and food is the best! It is very unique and has a really cool childrens corner and stroller parking. More importantly you can sit inside or outside and theres plenty of space. They have got a nice conference room that you can use for meetings or group sessions. Everything about this place is Mind blowing. All of us regular visitors and some of my friends who came for internship absolutely love the staff and their smiling faces. Shout out to Lizzy and Rochelle! The best baristas ever! ☺😍
My husband said its one of the best cups of coffee he has had...he had the drip with Heavy Whipping Cream. The peach apricot tea was wonderful, too!!
The coffee is fine, I wish they had real cups for dine in, but realize this adds quite a lot of work washing them. However this is not the reason for the poor stars. I have been disappointed since they opened that they are not open on Sundays. The hours are somewhat disappointed to begin with, but how is a coffee shop not open on Sundays?! It seems to me and several people I know that Sunday mornings would be one of the best times to be open! I am very concerned about this new location they are opening. I’m beyond happy to see they are taking advantage of local architecture and embracing this community however if they keep the same hours- the drive through will loose a lot of its purpose in my opinion because people won’t be able to utilize it on their way to work. This means there is no way to compete with Starbucks for the large commuting crowd. My final concern is the Pride Featival…. Lucabees was offered a spot at the festival, and declined. This is suspect as they claim how involved they are in the community. I was very disappointed, but gave them the Benifit of the doubt it was for other reasons than the religious ties. Then people started asking about it, and there has been no comment, social media posts have been removed, and they have been avoiding the whole situation. Their choice is their choice, but I know many are disappointed with this particular choice. If lucabees truely wants to support thier community, they should support everyone in their community!
Cannot be bothered to reply to Facebook messages and overcharges for oat milk.
The coffee was excellent, so definitely recommend it for that. The interior is really neat too, with a fun little play area for kids. So I definitely recommend it, but don’t be in a hurry. The coffee takes a fair few minutes to make. Also, wasn’t the biggest fan of the breakfast sandwich. I’d recommend sticking to the pastries if you want something to eat.
Theres something about a local Cafe that just makes you feel like a superstar. This place does everything right and they take great pride in what they serve which you can taste in every sip!
Very smooth coffee, best Ive had in Columbus by far. Ive had their cappuccino, the sugar free iced vanilla latte, and the chicken prosciutto on ciabatta with basil pesto aioli and swiss, all excellent. You can even get the sandwich as a panini, which is cool. Beautiful place, very friendly baristas, and great options for either a snack or a sandwich.
This place truly covers all the bases of being a perfect coffee joint! As someone who didnt think I liked coffee before because of the bad aftertaste big chain stores left in my mouth, this place was like experiencing the true flavor for the first time! I could spend all day here, its just that inviting of a place! The atmosphere is warm and the furnishings are both comfortable and charmingly rustic-chic. The location is central to the heart of downtown Columbus and blends in well with the modern architecture. Lucabes is always innovating and keeping the menu fresh, the baristas leave you feeling like an old friend, and while the business isnt open the entire day, the possibility of extended hours due to an event or musician is an unexpected delight! You are also extremely likely to have spontaneous meetings with your peers! I love that they keep Sunday as a day of rest before beginning the new week, although I do find myself wanting Lucabes and Chic-Fil-A greater on those days! ;) You wont be overwhelmed by the options because the menu is tastefully simple, plus there are always answers to your questions and good recommendations. Theres even an area for your little ones to play in which demonstrates the owners family values and makes the place child and parent-friendly. Community plays a central part in this coffee shops culture. I highly recommend being adventurous and trying new things, you wont be disappointed. If you havent tasted the perfection that is their honey lavender latte than shame on me for not writing this review sooner, go check it out!
Very good waffles and good coffee. very good employees too!
Drinks were great! Seemed to have good ratios when mixing them up. Breakfast croissant was good but was microwaved and not fresh made. Service was super friendly and relatively fast for the volume at that time. Will definitely visit again and maybe try a pastry next time!
Excellent coffee and food and great, friendly service!! Love this place!
I have always known about Lucabe Coffee Co. but never went. When the state lock down happened everything closed but when we starting coming out of it Lucabe was offering carry out. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE!!!The staff is amazing and always have a smile on their faces. The drinks and food are incredible and I always try to make it there once a week!!!The Blackberry Vanilla Latte and the Green Tea Peach Mango are definitely my favorites!!!
Nice people. Interior is very clean. Music and coffee machines are not as loud as other coffee shops which is nice if you go here to work or study.
Small but absolutely cozy cafe! I was so surprised to find they provide customized drink, such as decaf, extra flavor, milk choice, etc. My mocha is delicious! Even the table flower is so pleasing, and I should have ask the staff whether I can have the sunflower they changed. Also friendly place for kids and parents.
Trash coffee, trash attitude. Acted like they didn’t want to serve myself and my friends. 10/10 DONT recommend!
The food was excellent, and the coffee was fantastic. Really loved the Rosie’s Latte. Very nice staff and the building was very clean and had a great design. We were visiting from Utah/California and we all wish we had this place back home!
The cinnamon roll was very good but a little small for almost five dollars and I got hot chocolate and it wasnt even filled to the top of the cup with no chocolate on top of the whip cream like shown online and it was almost four dollars so should be filled to the top of the cup. Plus, the hot chocolate is not the best in town by a long shot. It comes out of a machine so its not handmade and tastes like its powdered chocolate. If I go again I will try the coffee.
Friendly baristas, delicious Belgian croissants, and great coffee -- try their beans! I asked for bean and grind size recommendations for my aeropress and the barista serving me answered all of my questions. Their online ordering system is also very convenient. Clean bathrooms, and a spot for the kiddos to play where parents can keep an eye on them while enjoying their lattes.
Will not be back. Not a safe place.
They are always so friendly & make great suggestions. Love their coffee !!
Very nice and comfortable
I visited this place a few times during my stay in Columbus. I tried a few different drinks and they were all okay - nothing to complain or exclaim about. Prices were reasonable, staff was extremely friendly and helpful.Wifi is Comcast - it wasnt especially fast but it was stable enough to get some work done.Atmosphere was great in the shop, although it was relatively crowded every time I went - which I blame largely on the fact that all of the Starbucks (and most other cafes) in town were closed to indoor dining. The location is wonderful; Columbus has a beautiful downtown. Parking here is a nightmare for anyone unfamiliar with the area and I recommend saving yourself some time and just parking in the nearest garage if you dont immediately see a roadside spot.Overall, this shop is easy to recommend and Im sure Ill return next time Im in town.
One of the best coffee shops in Central IN. Serving staff is always friendly and helpful. Oh, and their beans are out of this world!
During the middle of the pandemic, the person taking our order couldnt be bothered to wear a mask. Furthermore, the girl that was pulling baked goods from the cabinet and replenished their ice also did not wear a mask. Kudos to the two young guys making the coffee that did.Its a common courtesy, and just a nice thing to do for your fellow man during this. If you cant be bothered to do so, dont work in food service. On a side note, my drink was wrong as well. To be clear, Im not taking any stars off for that. Mistakes are made and thats totally fine. But not wearing masks while serving the public? Thats just not acceptable.
