This is a really cool coffee spot in Franklinton. They offer very unique coffee drinks and great pastries like a home made pop tart. I was looking forward to trying their rainy day coffee which has cotton candy that drips into your coffee as it melts but because of the current precautions they are not making it until it’s back to normal. The interior space is nice and relaxing and has plenty of outlets to work or study from and they even have private rooms. The staff was super friendly and happy to answer any questions we had. I highly recommend this cool coffee place and we will be back for the rainy day coffee!!!
Bottoms Up Coffee is a local coffee shop located in downtown Columbus. This small café is a great place to grab some caffeine and food while utilizing their individual study rooms for your personal work. The entrance does have 3-4 steps up to the door with the only wheelchair accessible doors being the exit. The exit has a slight ramp that leads out to the parking lot. However, when truly leaving the vicinity out the exit doors one must press a button to unlock it, of which is not easily accessible to those who are shorter or even wheelchair bound. There are also no available handicap buttons to open doors. This local business has a quant and cozy atmosphere with plants located throughout, fun decorations, and overall environment quality. Music is down low and not distracting and the staff are patient yet welcoming to all who enter the doors. This location overall is more geared towards serving able bodied individuals due to the accessibility of entering/exiting the building. I would recommend this to those that are sensitive to sensory overload as it is a quieter environment with simple private rooms to avoid distractions. Overall, great place to get away from the daily hustle and bustle of life and focus on work that you need to get done or just sit back relax and enjoy some coffee!
Wonderful, warm, cozy, bright, friendly cafe in Franklinton! The art is great and changes every 3 months. The owner Chakeyla Anderson is a beautiful, friendly, generous and smart woman entrepreneur! She collects for a charity.. a Diaper Fund for local people who need help with diapers. The coffee is super! As a note, Chakeyla invited me to exhibit my photos there for April to June 2021.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND this coffee shop! The service is top notch and the workers are incredibly kind, especially Bow. They go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. They have some very interesting coffees such as the “Rainy Day Coffee” which comes with cotton candy and a match flight that is DELICIOUS. There are study rooms, lots of natural light, and a peaceful vibe. One of the most unique finds in Columbus.
Super friendly staff, and great coffee! Also one of the cutest coffee shops I have ever been to
Lovely atmosphere and so friendly. Add their commitment to providing resources to the community and you have a first class small business. Happy to support an awesome place like this.
First time visiting Bottoms Up, and it didnt disappoint! I ordered a Cafe Au Lait, and a ginger snap cookie. The coffee is fantasic, and milk was steamed perfectly. The ginger snap cookie has the perfect amount of spice and sweetness, yet wasnt so rich that I couldnt eat the whole thing. I got my order to go, but the atmosphere was welcoming and gave off the perfect coffee shop on the corner vibe. I cant wait until my next chance to visit this Columbus Hidden Gem.
We come here all the time. Love being able to have a work meeting or just hang out! Must get the Rainy Day.
I love thia little place. I generally love local coffee places and this one is very unique and cozy. Their latte with oat milk is my favorite. You can hangout with friends on a Sunday afternoon with a cup of great coffee. The area is also nice to take a walk and explore in my opinion!
Fabulous little gem in up and coming bottoms...great coffee, great pastries, and cool space
Great co-op.The cloud coffee was fun and the atmosphere is quaint
This is the worst coffee shop service I have ever seen. The lady is super slow, and she have a really negative frustrating attitude!!! Also there are no other food options besides empanadas(which took her forever to make).
I haven’t had a pleasure in going to the cafe. However, I know one of the owners and wanted to support his business so I ordered 60 large tumblers as favors for my wedding. They were fast to deliver and everyone I encountered was kind and helpful in the process of ordering the tumblers. When they arrived each tumbler was packed in individual boxes and were great quality. I collect tumblers due to a coffee and tea addiction and was psyched about the quality. I really love the top where you can snap the lid open and closed. Absolutely thrilled with my purchase, quality and customer service. Pics of one of the tumblers.
Drove 30 minutes to get coffee here thinking from the reviews that it would be great. SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED. I would give this place no stars if possible. The coffee tasted burnt and acidic and made me want to gag. For $6 you would expect two shots of espresso to be prepared with care and loyalty, not juvenile and poor!
I’m very particular about chai, and this one was amazing! Atmosphere was very good. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but reasonable for the quality.
Coffee was amazing- the best sugar free vanilla syrup i’ve ever had and the cafe itself is beautiful with the friendliest baristas I’ve ever met. I will be back and very often.
Although the place is very quaint and welcoming, the staff very friendly, my drink that I received was not good at all. I ordered a chai latte and after we left to head home I took a drink and was extremely disappointed. You can smell the chai faintly and its an even fainter taste of it. Its more like warm milk with a hint of spice. The orange/cranberry muffin my granddaughter got had more flavor and spice then my latte.
It was my first time in this place. I usually dont go to places like this but I really wanted a cup of coffee bad. So I got a medium drip coffee and gave a dollar tip and it cost me about 3.50 .
Great service! WoW the espresso was great too.
My girlfriend and I were very impressed by this coffee shop’s welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very nice and outgoing, especially when welcoming ‘obvious’ newcomers. They apparently come up with their own recipes as I tried their Snickerdoodle flavored latte which was actually quite nice. All in all this is a lovely spot to enjoy a nice cup of coffee and to enjoy the atmosphere!
Not the best coffee, but still pretty good. I used it more or less for the environment. They have secluded rooms to use for schoolwork, projects, etc. This helped keep the distractions at bay. Comfy seating, unique artwork, and the empanada was delicious.
Great little cafe! I think their peanut butter cookie probably was the best one Ive ever had.
The women were so sweet and very fast moving. I think they would need a little bit more help so be patience with them.
I love this place 🥰
I drove all the way to Columbus for an appointment that was ended up being double booked. I didnt want to waste my 45 minute drive for nothing so I looked up nearby coffee places. I ended up at bottoms up, the coffee was delicious. The barista, Morgan, was so cheery and delightful that I felt like my drive was worth it and my day seemed a little brighter.
Unique and comfortable place with good chai and private seating options.
Good brew! They have 5 areas where you can have a semi-private meeting, or if you just need to hole up and not be bothered to get some work done. My first visit was today, but Ill be going back!
The Canary Island (I think that’s what it was called) w/oat milk was the most delicious latte I’ve ever had, and the muffin I got tasted like someone’s grandma made it. The staff was really welcoming and I love that they have little private workspaces! On the opposite side of town from me, but I’ll definitely be back.
Friendly barista and relaxing place to work while drinking a good cup of coffee.
Its in an interesting location, very weird area... half of the coffee shop is rented out by someone else so it makes the available room very small. Walking in to it, there is a neat mural on the side of the building (check it out). I got a mocha and didnt really like it, but then again Im biased by the wonders of fox in the snow. However, other people seemed to like what they got (cappuccino and a chai latte) so maybe go for those options. All in all, pretty good experience, not so bad.
Quaint little cafe with space to have a brief meeting with co-workers or friends. Very friendly staff and great coffee!
Delicious vanilla latte 😋
In town from Arkansas, staff was very friendly and mission driven (helping local families with diapers). The coffee was great and prepared with care. The egg sandwich is freaking awesome
During the pandemic, Ive been ordering coffee from local roasters since I cant go out. I ordered the House Blend from Bottoms Up Coffee and it was AMAZING! My husband now refuses to drink any coffee from the grocery store after having this. I also ordered a mug (because hey, the light blue color and the cork bottom are just too cute to pass up) and the mug arrived before the coffee with the sweetest hand-written thank you note
Phenomenal place for coffee, snacks, treats, studying/working. Couldnt recommend the people and atmosphere enough.
Great place to study, relaxing scenery, and an attractive aesthetic. Highly recommend.
One of my favorite neighborhood coffee shops.
What an absolutely charming place! The barista answered my 1,001 questions patiently and made me a delicious mocha. Music, vibe, coffee and food all on point! I also ❤️ their community involvement
Kind cashier, also my cappuccino was perfect. Not too strong, not too diluted. Turkey sandwich was AMAZING deli food... definitely coming here before work every morning.
Delicious coffee and a great vibe. Definitely great for warmer weather with outdoor seating
I should’ve look up the type of atmosphere before asking my sons teacher to meet with my son and I here. My son is homebound and being at home doesn’t get the focus he needs. Decided to do a coffee shop and picked Bottoms Up. My sons teacher arrived before we did. She had asked the employee if it was okay to meet here and was told she would have to make a purchase. She purchased a cookie. Then my son and I walked in and my sons teacher had explained to me the situation of she had to make a purchase in order to seat in the shop. I decided to make sure that I understand what was going on. I walked up to the cafe and explained my son is meeting his teacher for home school. Is it not okay for us to come in and sit for an hour session. Her reply was as long as someone in the party makes a purchase. I said, “Okay, thank you!” I got no reply in return so I said, “Thank you!” for the second time and then she said, “You’re welcome!” I won’t be coming back! I didn’t feel welcomed. I understand the set up with businesses and entrepreneurs. Which I am a small business owner and a entrepreneur. I could go on more about this situation but I am not. I’m going to leave it here.
Mission driven coffee shop and co-working space 👀 say no more... Ill be back!
It is a decent spot! I like the vibe. I did have some issues though/things to improve upon:- it is 80+ degrees on the inside- I ordered a coffee with cream and then they asked it I would like room for cream and I said yes. I got a black coffee so I asked where I could get some cream and they said they have to put it in so they took my coffee and like 3 mins later I got it back- I ordered a breakfast sandwich and was not given any napkins- I asked what the wifi password was and she just pointed me in the direction of the password so I had to get up to get itJust minor things. They seemed totally panicked, unorganized, and crazy busy even though there was like 3 workers and only like 7 customers in the place.Breakfast sandwich was pretty solid for $5.50 and the interior is cool!
Cute inside. Coffee was delicious?!
My SO got a cortado and a coldbrew. He thought their espresso was tasty and balanced and the cold brew was surprisingly good with a forward fruity acidity. I got a London fog that was sweet and yummy but a little weak on the tea flavor. Good vibe with a colorful palette and large variety of plants. Lots of natural light thanks to large windows and skylights. They also had several small rooms with tables that could be closed off from the main area for a quieter study or work space.
Absolutely awesome coffee! They go above and beyond what national coffee chains do. Support local!
I brought my staff for a meeting here. The decor is awesome. They have so many little rooms you can have meetings in. The staff is very friendly. There is parking available.
The place has a great atmosphere and interior design. Unfortunately, the drink I ordered didnt taste the best and the baristas struggled.
It was clean friendly and welcoming. And they have delicious tarts. 😀😀
Such friendly and informative staff!! Cool and unique latte flavors
Great vibes. WiFi is typically poor quality. I usually spend 1-1.5 hours just trying to connect to wifi. Would change to 5 star if they fix their WiFi.
Literally the best coffee on the west side. They are so kind and respectful!!
Amazing place, employees are so kind
It was a cute little place with guite the vibes going on.....it was also like 80° in there so kinda uncomfortable 😬 but the drinks were pretty good! I wasnt wowed by mine but Id go back n maybe try something else!!
We had the Canary Island and the Carmel Pistachio; both were dreamy and creamy. Super cute space. The food menu looked lovely!
Bright, vibrant, very welcoming. The menu isnt super large, but they do the little things well. The Latin dishes, pastries, and board games are very nice and unique touch compared to other coffee shops in town. Plus, they do a lot of fundraising, local advertising, and activities with the community so its a good feed to your caffeine addiction and moral scale. I like this a place a lot and go weekly. Very underrated
The coffee was delicious. The atmosphere is great. They have some really fun creative drinks. Also they have some really delicious vegan snacks. I will definitely be returning.
What a wonderful cute coffee shop in the middle of a growing urban city!!! I loved Bottoms Up. Great for meetings and small gatherings with amazing coffee/tea options! I had the hot chocolate which was perfect with whipped cream and a cookie but the kind server man (Josh maybe) gave me two. YEA TWO COOKIES. homemade by the way for free too. Definitely recommend to all!!
I have several food allergies and my job ordered breakfast this morning from Bottoms up and I AM OVER THE MOON!!! VEGAN AND SUPER TASTY!!! I will be visiting this place soon. I love that Columbus is emerging in tasty vegan and allergy friendly food.
This morning I was with a friend of mine and visited this place for the first time. The outside of the building has a great look and is inviting. Inside I was able to get my Columbus Coffee Experience card stamped and drank a drip coffee along with eating a delicious chocolate chip cookie. It is a great place to meet up and chat. I say give this place a try of you havent yet. Their causes are great as well!
Always super busy
Nice; quiet. Pleasant.
Well I have yet to go to Bottoms up, but seeing the horrible review that Joan Rowe left I now want to give my business to this cafe. Anyplace that supports the efforts of our wonderful and ever brave local law enforcement is a place that I would love to frequent. I do believe my husband and I will be popping in this weekend. So I will edit this review to let you know how the food was.
Rad little coffee shop with vegan options. The barista was very nice and accommodating when we asked questions about the menu. Well definitely be back!
This was my first time there. The coffee was excellent! They offer a wide variety of coffee and teas... they even have Mate (pronounced mah-teh)! The empanadas were tasty and the service was outstanding!! Their seating area was comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommend you experience Bottoms Up Coffee.
This place is great! The prices are really good. They have a wide variety of coffees. The gentleman that assisted me was very helpful. I will be going back.
Gotta love supporting local businesses! Its a great concept too with the co-op office space attached. The coffee options were adequate and the burrito I purchased was decent.
Lots of natural light, plants and open space! Coffee, food, and atmosphere are both relaxing and life giving. They have coloring books and fun games to play with friends. Love coming here anytime of the day!
Had a great cup of ice coffee! Really refreshing on a hot day like today. Cute store, great atmosphere, lots of history in that building, friendly staff.! Thanks
The Battista was wonderful. The place was quiet and comforting. I really enjoyed my visit. They have only been open for about 11 months now. Great coffee... Hit and iced. They even have imported teas from California! Yum
Great little coffee place with a small menu that offers empenadas to donuts. I enjoyed the very flavorful empenadas and a Almond milk vanilla latte. Extremely delightful. I will definitely be going again! Thank you!
Where to start?! This place is a gift to the community in various ways. There are work spaces available for rental, great coffee options and some baked goodness. The owners also work closely with organizations to help address such issues as infant mortality and womens rights. Stop by, grab a drink and drop some coins in the tip jar to help the community.
This is my favorite coffee shop in Columbus. It is surprisingly tiny coffee shop but the quality in each of their items is off the roof! I love how warm and welcoming the owners are and the mission of this place is decreasing infant mortality in the neighborhood. Check this place out at least once! :)P.S EMPANADAS ARE SO TASTY!
Great new coffee shop! Cute, bright and airy, with meeting rooms and work spaces for rent. Iced latte was delicious!Sad update: The next time I came here, the iced latte I got was about half the size and tasted like a cold brew with milk - nothing like it did the first time. :(
Very cool atmosphere with lots of natural light and a great view of the fire station. And unique and delicious drinks - coffee and non-coffee alike!
About a year ago [7-18-2018], I attended a Central Ohio Worker Center [COWC] New Member Orientation at Bottoms Up Coffee. We had met in a back room [we had had to enter the building via a rear door]; Bottoms Up Coffee had not been open to the public. Therefore, I do not know if I have officially been to Bottoms Up Coffee or not. However, Bottoms Up Coffee had been a great location for that Central Ohio Worker Center [COWC] New Member Orientation.
Friday was probably my fourth visit. Staff is always friendly, coffee is good, presentation is great! Just a great atmosphere.
Friendly people friendly courteous service
Tasty coffee, tea, and sweet or savory pastries in an affirming environment. The shop is a good place for small groups to socialize, and also has a larger meeting room and work tables for people needing an Internet connection and maybe an encouraging word. A portion of receipts is dedicated to helping lower the infant mortality rate in Franklinton
An amazing experience. The staff were friendly and the music was great. A wonderful place to sit and eat good food and drink great coffee and relax. I could honestly hang out there all day.
I like its cozy atmosphere and tasty coffee. Coffee taste was good and the staff were friendly.
Another expensive generic coffee place. Local shop so its better than Starbucks.
I used to love this establishment until the ownership changed. I dont go here anymore, and would never had edited my previous 5 star review until seeing that the coffee shop is hosting police trainings. I dont think a coffee house is an appropriate place for that. They have an entire retired elementary school, not to mention a state of the art training facility. If I walk down my street to buy a coffee, I dont want to be reminded of the police brutality, harassment and murders that happen frequently in the city/neighborhood.
Had their seasonal caramel pistachio latte with oat milk and it was delectable!
Nice place- standard coffee house offerings, but with a great community component that is worth supporting.Work spaces for rent (desks or rooms)for the day or monthly. Nice meeting room for $20 hourly. Its a co op, so lots of benefits to membership that are worth reviewing on their website.
If you only go to one coffee shop for one drink and food, make it this one and be sure to arrive early for one of their amazing empanadas. What do they put in it? Potatoes, cheese, unicorn magic? The owners are great and the whole place is dedicated to contributing to the community and local businesses and artists. Love it!
