This was a really pleasant surprise. Its always a roll of the dice for me when I visit a new coffee shop because so many people out there just dont make good coffee. Boston Stoker was a very pleasant exception to the rule. Not only was the coffee excellent and the selection of food items enticing but everything was super clean and the two guys that work there never once stopped moving. They were always attending to customers or cleaning something up. An added bonus is that they also have a humidor with a selection of cigars and their outdoor patio area allows for the enjoying of a well-crafted latte and or a nice cigar. Luckily if cigars bother you there is plenty of outdoor room so you wont be bothered a bit.
Great place, even better vibes. Employees are always super nice.
This is a really cool little coffee shop that also sells tabaco products. The baristas are friendly and very knowledgeable in coffee and also do more advanced pours like pour overs and latte art. There is plenty of outlets to charge laptops and phones to work from. They also have outdoor seating which is rare for a small location located in a plaza. It’s nice that they are open to indoor seating since many coffee shops in the area only offer takeout which doesn’t make sense. If you’re serious about your coffee I highly recommend this place!
Just stopped in for a Grogg pour over. I usually don’t try my coffee this way. While waiting, I Serenity went out of her way to explain the process when I asked. She gave fantastic customer service. This is my first time at this BS location, and I am grateful to have it in the neighborhood! I will definitely be back. Great job, Serenity!
This coffee shop is walking distance from my house and I love it. Great coffee and always nice staff. I highly recommend the iced mocha with oat milk :)
Boston Stoker: great coffee, outstanding service, friendly/knowledgeable staff, and a company that ethically sources their beans. Not only do I appreciate the quality and consistency of their coffee, but I especially appreciate how kind and helpful their baristas are --- specifically Kayla Ritter! I have had nothing but positive experiences with Boston Stoker, and for that, I must give them five stars.Highly recommend!
I was expecting this place since it is a small chain to be more like a Starbucks thankfully that was not my experience. It’s a little off the beaten path of the Short North, but is well worth it and they have a parking lot which none of the other Short North coffee shops have. It’s very cozy on the inside and the drinks are fantastic very knowledgeable barista which is always a bonus. I ended up getting two drinks both of the specials because the first one was so good. I got the lavender and orange latte first, the presentation was outstanding and so was the taste then I got the old fashioned cold brew which was a great little mocktail, but could have been a little bigger.
Always a friendly greeting when you walk in! Creative drinks, lots of beans to buy, and many brewing accessories. Great shop!
I came here for the first time because I heard from a friend that her favorite matcha latte was from here. I didnt get the latte, but I got the 16oz sweet matcha hot tea and that was good! A few drinks come in 2 sizes and I got the big size, which comes with a cup and extra tea that comes in something that looks like a light bulb for about $3. It was creamy (with no cream), hot, and sweet! I love matcha and I think this was done very well.Theres limited seating available, plenty of parking, and free WiFi. I will say, the wifi was very spotty when we were there.I recommend this place for a casual date, to study, their unique teas, and for a chill atmosphere. The barista was very friendly and patient. The decorations were cute and they also offer a selection of coffee to buy! They also sell various pastries, chocolate, and other coffee related items, but I didnt get any.
I always enjoy the best coffee here. I wish I lived closer!
I like coming here. The people are nice. The coffee is good.
Legit shop - tasty coffee and lots of freshly roasted retail beans. One of my favorites in town.
I come to Boston Stoker almost weekly, and theres a reason for that! Multiple reasons. Get the Kenyan Mocha while its still in season. It has a nice spice and fruitiness with the chocolate mocha flavor, and I like that its a bit thicker. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the breakfast sandwiches are really good. I mean, really good. I dont know why they arent advertised more. For $5, Ive never had a better breakfast sandwich.
I worked for this location for a few months about a year ago and loved every second of it. I saw the passion that went into creating the beverages that I enjoyed so much. I still frequent the shop to this day and love see all the new faces that have joined the team since my departure. Keep of the good work!
A cool place
First time: excellent friendly helpful staff. Very clean. Nice quiet comfortable aesthetic.
Really friendly service, delicious coffee and unique shop atmosphere.
Great coffee, friendly staff, and easy / free to park. John is the store manager and hes very knowledgeable and a nice guy.
This is my husband’s favorite coffee shop in Columbus right now. They have a lot of fun “coffee cocktails” and unique drink combinations. I’m pretty sure they have cigars you can purchase as well. It’s not very big but we usually don’t struggle to find a place to sit.
We havent bought any other coffee for our home in ten years. As for the cafe, its quite unique in that instead of various flavors of a-pound-of-sugar-in-liquid-form, they feature various of their roasts and blends in different brew methods. A coffee shop for people who want to taste coffee.
Nice staff, good quality food and coffee, relaxed atmosphere
This place is good but a little small. Its hard to find a place to sit most of the time. Its more of a grab and go vibe. The cappuccino I had was good but not amazing. The staff is efficient and fast but kind of monotone.
The bill was reasonable. atmosphere is like a restaurant in fort worth i loved.
I dont know why, but I was shocked by the quality of the coffee here. Its affordable and a very quiet spot to study. I will be returning here often. The last few times Ive ordered a Chemex (because I was sharing with someone else) of an Ethiopian coffee, and it was quite good.
Best cold brew I ever had
A nice little place with friendly staff (and patrons). Great coffee and a decent breakfast sandwich. It’s a relaxed atmosphere but somewhat limited seating if you want to work at a table.
Good environment. Had the espresso. It was not too bitter, obfuscating any caramel or chocolaty notes. Not bad, but could be better.
I really enjoy their aesthetic and the quality of the coffee is good... but I always seem to catch the end of a french press batch and usually have to chew the last sips of my morning coffee. Not ideal, but the flavor and quality keeps me coming back. Their cold brew is definitely one of my faves (better than Staufs, and maybe a dead heat with Luck Bros in my mind).
These guys are roasting some quality beans.
Best coffee in Columbus!
My favorite coffee shop in town. Boston Stokers is where I get my beans for home because I think they have the most consistent selection of excellent quality single origin beans. They also make my favorite latte in town. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable and the shop is clean and has a great atmosphere. It’s not as cozy as some of the other shops in town and I rarely set up there for a long day of work, but for the highest quality coffee in Columbus I think this is the place to beat.
I love this place. When I walk in they already know what I am ordering.
I love Boston Stoker, the coffee is amazing and I like the atmosphere but as someone who normally visits the Dayton area locations, I do not like the Columbus location as much. The staff never seem interested or friendly.4 stars because of the great coffee and reputation, but one off because of the service at this location.
I spent my late teens at the original in Dayton, drinking wondrously strong coffee and smoking cigarettes I was JUST old enough to buy at the time.20 years, 70 miles and a smoking ban later, the coffee’s still amazing. Now if they could remove the word “stoker” from their name without injuring the brand. . . And maybe just offer a cup of coffee without a whole tray, complete with spoon holder and reserve cup. The presentation’s great— but service and coffee are better.
I didnt have any impression when coming to this location. I was really impressed with the set up. Most importantly, the coffee was AWESOME.
Best iced vanilla mocha latte and pastries
Absolutely wonderful coffee, and the staff members were helpful and efficient. The space itself was open and great for studying. The only potential downside was that they only offer one size. If youre in the mood for a large coffee, this isnt the place. However, if you are good with a regular size thats tasty, its totally fine.
A quaint coffee shop with friendly people. Its a bit tucked away out of view by the old Giant Eagle, but its definitely worth a stop. It seems that dogs are welcome which is always a plus!
It was like... OK. The coffee is very sour and I prefer a less tart roast; I had to pour out half of it and replace the rest with my own coffee when I got home. The bagel was fine but it’s really hard to do a bad bagel.
This was my fourth stop on the Columbus Coffee Experience. The coffee was decent, wifi reliable/easily accessible, and staff were fast and friendly. Parking wasnt a problem at all. I felt that the location was smaller and less convenient than coffee shops closer to campus though.
We tried their Nicaraguan in a v-60 pourover and it was smoooooth.. great choice on drip, Jose Isidro roast.
We decided to kick off our Columbus coffee trail with Boston Stoker in the Victorian village. It did not disappoint. Youve gotta try the signature Lavender Orange latte. Just delicious!
Had an hour to kill early on a Monday morning, so I grabbed a cappuccino & blueberry muffin from this shop. Nice small business with a clean patio to sit & enjoy your coffee. Nearby to Goodale park as well.
Great selection of coffee, baked goods and coffee gear. Drinks were very good with a few creative specials. It was busy but we found a seat to enjoy our drinks.
It was delicious and the service made it that much better! I have nothing but nice things to say about everyone and the atmosphere. You should definitely go there :)
This was stop number 7 on my Columbus Coffee Experience. I spent the late afternoon there yesterday and had a regular coffee and a lemon poppy seed muffin, both of which were really good. I say give this place a try if you havent done so.
The coffee her was really terrible. It was so acidic it made it hard to drink. I ordered the cappuccino. My boyfriends latte was better probably due to all the syrup.
One of my two favorite coffee shops in Columbus. Always has an amazing selection and I love doing my studying for school there.
Coffee and staff were great! Suggestion: the big rug needs to be vacuumed there are animal hairballs?? (A simple task that would make a big difference in the environment)
Great iced coffee! I like the cask pulls they use to serve it.
Delicious single origin french press and pour over coffees, great tasting espresso blend, and very friendly staff that enjoy talking coffee. They direct purchase from long-time relationship foreign coffee farmers. And they roast their coffee. Great coffee shop.
Love this place. Best coffee. Jeff is the cutest.
Overall, Boston Stokers only mistake here is being in a strip mall. The store is clean and bright with some outdoor seating as well, the staff is friendly, and they offer more than regular coffee drinks and snacks - but the view out onto the hundreds of parking spaces is just.....not great.
Nice to see this Dayton, OH icon in Columbus. Wish there was a little more seating and better signage but still a great place to visit.
Amazing coffee and cozy environment! My husband and I really enjoyed our time there.
Had a nice espresso. Quiet neighborhood place with lots of parking to have a conversation.
Great friendly, knowledgable staff. The house blend cold brew is good, but the single origin cold brew is something to look forward to! I always stop here after eating lunch at Oodles Noodles.
Never had such a rich, deep-flavored coffee. Staff was helpful and sociable, environment was calm and relaxed. Will definitely be going back!
This is my favorite coffee shop in Columbus for a reason. Well, for many reasons! The staff is the friendliest buncha baristas Ive ever met, and they know how to have fun while also taking their craft seriously. So glad to have a place that approaches coffee as a culture and makes obvious efforts to bring awareness to the community about where coffee comes from and why its important. Plus, the atmosphere is clean and comfortable; a great spot to get some reading done!
This was a very nice place. Priced affordably and it was an upscale experience. The cappuccino looks Instagram worthy.
Great coffee in a relaxed environment. The baristas seem extremely knowledgeable about their coffee which shows through the brew.Keep up the good work!
I like the coffee here, my only thing is that it’s not a great place to hang out, more of a grab and go. The coffee and espresso is usually very good and the staff is pretty nice.
Good job on the atmosphere for being in a storefront like this, coffee selection was good, breakfast items looked good, I had the Costa Rican pour over...and should have tried what the barista suggested I would like instead- far too strong for a pour over, caramel latte was good, as well and the manager was busy but seemed to be knowledgeable
Great little spot. Quiet, clean, and great presentation, especially for a regular drip coffee.
Friendly folks making some good drinks. Have patience when you order, the drinks are hand crafted with love and arent ready in 30 seconds.
Don’t waste your money at Starbucks, buy a REAL latte or espresso here at Boston’s Stoker! Tastes much better than Starbucks burnt tasting espresso
This is hands-down the best coffee shop in Columbus. The coffee is delicious and makes Crimson Cup and Stauffs (Cup o Joe) taste like dog water. The service is always exceptional and friendly. Its a little higher priced, but its quality is incomparable to any other coffee shop in Columbus.
Such a disappointing experiance!!!I got there with my family at 11:08am, we ordered our coffee and a breakfast sandwich and we were informed that they stop selling sandwiches at 11:00 am which is ok. After most people who came after us got their drinks which is approximately 15 minutes we were asked to remind him what we ordered again. The guy who took our order was reluctant to warm up our pastry and finally after we got what we ordered we learned that they they were selling the breakfast sandwich to other ppl, and this is arround 11:40. Now I am Not sure if this happned because of the color of our skin or simply poor customer service but I can say that it was the worst experience Ive ever had in any coffee shop and this will be my last time going there.
Great coffee! The baristas really know their craft. Kyles customer service and knowledge of coffee really impressed me.
Dont need coffee that bad that when I walk in Im not greeted; just stared at and when I greet the girl as I I just did before I walked out she says nothing and just sits there and stares. I walk out the restroom and she is happily talking to the next customer....gotcha Im not welcome.
The baristas at Boston Stoker are both friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate the time they took to answer my questions regarding all the methods they use to brew their coffees. Cheers!!
Super friendly staff, with deep knowledge and passion for coffee and tea!
One of the best coffees Ive had in a long time.
Small space but delectable coffee. Definitely fills the void of a cup o Joe near goodale park
Friendly staff, good coffee. The only thing is the location is a bit off, and the place feels a bit too quiet and cold.
Good coffee, friendly service, nice atmosphere.
A fantastic place. Never too crowded but the quality of their roasts is among the best in town.
I frequently travel through Dayton International Airport and while this is such a cozy, warm environment, I couldnt fully enjoy it because it was so loud. While the girl who made my freshly steeped tea did an excellent job, she would not stop loudly talking with other airport workers to the point where I could barely hear myself think. This went on for at least 20 minutes. It was really frustrating to grab a seat there, pull out my laptop, get situated with some paperwork then either be distracted by obnoxious cackling/unprofessional convo or have to blast music to drown out the excessive noise. Mind you, theres a book store across the way where people might want to sit down and read. That behavior is bad for both businesses. Other than that, clean environment, delicious muffins, and I usually have positive experiences.
Location was a bit a weird place. I didnt have a car, but I needed to go to the CVS next door, so decided to stop by here for a caffeine treat. The space was so spacious and it was such a perfect place to curl up with a good book or do some work on your laptop. The iced latte was amazing and love it that its direct coffee beans with the farmer. The baristas seemed to love their jobs - talking to their customers and being super personable. Restroom was super clean as well.
Really did not like the coffee here. The menu was difficult to translate into useful information. The staff was helpful.
Wonderful coffee and pastries! Not a whole lot of seating though.
GREAT PLACE. BEST COFFEE IN COLIMBUS.
Super friendly staff and an extremely interesting assortment of coffee and tea drinks make this place a winner for anybody.
Very casual place to grab a cup of coffee and have a meeting.
Where brioso baristas go on their days off. That says a lot.Service vessels reinforce investment in craft (pun intended).Knowledgeable w/o attitude.Stylish but unintimidating.V easy parking situation - for you car, bike or butt.Patio is V comfortable.
Free wifi, easy parking, and one of the best iced lattes in Columbus. Great atmosphere for studying or getting work done, and the espresso drinks Ive had were perfect. In general, the baristas are knowledgeable about the beans and leaves, and theres a fair assortment of pastries. This is one of my go-to coffee shops!
Great coffee. friendly, knowledgeable staff. Clean and inviting space to read or study. Outlets and wifi available.
