I haven’t scored much stuff here but it’s always busy so high traffic probably. But I enjoy shopping because it’s always friendly, the store is very clean ! I feel welcome here! Goodwill is super unfriendly so this store makes me feel better! The prices are better and organized very well! I love visiting their Jewelry counter that’s so awesome! Finally, I like that they play religious music thank you 🙏🏻 It’s so soothing and uplifting

This is an awesome thrift store. Prices are unbelievable and the selection is always being refreshing. Never the same experience every visit you always find something new or interesting. They keep this store neat and the associates are super courteous.

The store itself is clean and the staff are friendly, but I often have a hard time actually being able to buy anything because nothing is organized by size. For plus size folk, I would be wonderful if there was either a section devoted to us, of if the store was organized by size in each section. I can’t even find shoes normally let alone clothes, which makes my shopping experience frustrating. Please consider these changes! Thank you!

This Volunteers of America location is my FAVORITE thrift shop in town! Low prices, high quality clothes, coats, shoes, purses, household, toys books, where else can you go on a total shopping spree and not spend much at all? Clothes are sorted by types and colors, not sizes, so take some time and look around! Dressing rooms also available if youd like to try something on. Love the fact that VOA assists veterans and low-income people in need. Staff is always very friendly at this location.

I love shopping VOA thrift stores, and it was my first time visiting this location. It was very clean, albeit a bit smaller than other stores I’ve been to, and had a large selection. My issue with this store is the employee who rudely moved my cart while I was browsing because I was in her way (I had been looking at a rack that she later came over to stock), and when I apologized and moved out of the way she just grumbled and glared. I brushed it off as her having a bad day, we’ve all been there, there were rolling racks all over the store and any VOA I’ve been to, you’re allowed to look at those clothes as long as you’re not impeding the person working off of it. So I was walking by and saw a jacket on one of the racks and stepped up to it to look at it and as soon as I touched the sleeve the same woman came up to me and loudly yelled at me for shopping the rolling racks (again has never been an issue before and I only looked at one jacket, was not flipping through them). She may have been having a bad day, again it happens, but she made my shopping experience so negative that I will never return to this location and may stick to goodwills for a bit. I love VOA prices, but the staff tends to leave more to be desired...

Ever since the Salvation Army I always went to closed, this has become my new favorite thrift store. If you take the time to look you can find lots of great clothing at a much cheaper price than most Goodwills and Ohio Thrifts. I love this place!

A few years back, I would always find amazing stuff at this store. But the last few times I have gone I have left empty handed. I also found that some of the pricing on individual items seemed a bit high for the thrift store and it can be frustrating that not all of the clothing is sorted by size. But it is clean and big and still fun to thrift at!

Love this store! I’ve found so many good deals here. The staff has always been nice, especially Olivia. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because the way the clothing is organized. I understand it’s more efficient for the workers but it a lot harder for customers to find clothes in their size when it’s mixed all together. I sometimes don’t even look because it takes too much time. Especially for the infant/toddler section. It would be soo much better if it was at least separated by gender!But I really do love this store and will continue coming here often!

Never had an issue there. always found great deals and big hauls, both my mother and I. I have brought friends along for a great selection. Its not organized by size but feel I find more this way than other store . These prices are so great I cannot complain. So glad I found this place!

Decent selection of second-hand items, with clothes near the front and other items/electronics near the back. Snagged a set of 72 Copic markers for $65 after 50% off once. Best Christmas present for myself ever?

Price tag was missing when I got to the register. It was on the item when I picked it up. They refused to sell it to me. How hard is it to come up with a new price? Apparently, way too difficult for the managerBusiness 101 - customer wants to buy item, you dont turn them away and refuse to sell them something that was for sale on your sales floor. Come up with a price, make some money, everyone is happy. Customer returns to your store, because of good experience and service.

I love your store. Both my sister and I visit it a lot. Lots of great deals and lots of great people. Until this morning, Tuesday, April 30, 2019. The person checking me out was a nice lady. She was approached by a manager who began berating her for holding something (a piece of exercise equipment). First of all and speaking as a retired restaurant manager of 37 years rule #1 is that you DONT reprimand employees in front of guests/customers. The fact that this man RETURNED and had the audacity to ask this employee if They knew what day it was prompted this review. Lets face it: You folks give jobs to a lot of people in recovery and God bless you for that. You give people without a lot a chance to get a little. But Im telling you right now everything I just stated is true and I live within spitting distance of this location on Henderson and Ill be damned if I ever step foot in it again! Ill drive all the way to your Indianola location first. Thank you. J. Wheeler

I love this place but I am very self conscious of my arms, due to this, I usually wear long sleeves all seasons. The long sleeves are no longer available here because the weather has gotten warmer and that makes me kinda upset, it feels like you’re excluding people like me. All you give out now are tee shirts and button ups. There are other Volunteers of America that still sell long sleeved shirts and sweaters, but those are further from where we live, they also don’t have many good things like this one. Could you guys maybe put out a small section for sweaters and long sleeves shirts in your store?

Great prices for really nice clothing. You can find brand names and high end designers some times. The air conditioner doesn’t work when it’s hot out though. They keep saying for two years it’s going to be fixed and I have yet to see it. Other than that the place is great. It’s just not comfortable shopping when it’s 80 or 90° out.

Great selection and even better prices. Not the best or attentive staff but thats to be expected at a place with volunteers. Best part, they do colored tag discounts. Depending on the day you can find things for an extra 25-75% off

I shop at this VOA on a regular basis. They generally have anything Im looking for. The prices are generally reasonable, each week there are different colored price tags that there is a % off the price tag i.e. 25%, 50% off the price of the item. The very best time to shop and get the most bang for your buck the last Tuesday of each month (everything is half off). I highly recommend this thrift store.

Clean. Organized. Theres a pretty wide selection; you can usually find something you like at an amazing price. If that isnt good enough they have some colored tag system and if your item is the colored tag of the week you get 50 and 75% off. So its either cheap. expensive. Or dirt cheap inexpensive

I LOVE this store. They have A LOT of everything! When I need something, I start here. I will say their prices are more than they should be in my opinion. For example, some of the children’s books are either really dirty or tiny but I was told they were the same price as the larger children’s books.

My go to place. They have a great kids section. Very organized!

Now that Im 68 years young and on Social Security I find myself needing to be quite thrifty and the Volunteers of America at 1824 Henderson Rd. in Columbus, Ohio makes that not only possible but a wonderful experience as well!Every single time I visit this particular store I am always greeted by an employee. Not only do they treat me with the utmost respect, whether I need their assistance with something or when Im checking out! Having the discount tags listed clearly just as I walk in is great. I simply asked them if they had any quilts in stock. Kim was very rude over the phone and told me that she had no idea if there were any in stock. When I asked if someone could look, she said that even if they did look she couldnt guarantee that it would still be there because they wont hold anything. Her customer service was garbage, she was dismissive of me as a customer, and Im sure her work ethic is in line with her customer service skills.

Primarily just clothing items. Items priced to sell. Over all a nice location there on Henderson Rd.

Very small but packed with used inventory. You will find a little of everything from kids to household. If you have time for the hunt you might find a treasure!

Went in to look for clothes.They were nicely sorted by color and category, however Im not going to spend hours looking thru clothes that are not my size. Perhaps the store feels it is an efficient use of their time to not sort by size, but it is not efficient for me. Otherwise store is clean and staff friendly.

There is always something to find here at great prices. Ive even found brand new items with store tags still on them also at great buys. I get all of my work clothes here and recommend it often to others.

I used to shop here all the time when I lived in the neighborhood. I have sometimes gone out of my way just to come back. They always have a great selection and you just cant beat the prices. Unlike some other places they have used TVs and computers in the back.

Lots of good bargains since it was 50% off day. The store was in good order given it was sale day.

Ive had a lot of great luck at this location for business professional clothes at incredibly affordable prices. The staff is friendly and the organization/presentation of the store is generally top notch.

This has great items at a great price, especially knick knacks, kitchenware, and childrens books.Plus size clothes are hard to find here, especially since theyre mixed in with the regular size clothes.While it wasnt busy around Christmas, any other time during the weekend, expect a fairly large crowd.

Clothing is sorted by color and if was sized by size of clothing I would give them 5 stars. Prices are very good, plenty of free parking

Manager goes out of her way to be a nasty mean person if you should ask any questions. They dont price whats on the floor and if you want it you cant buy it unless you come back in two business days and ask a manager. Really? A second trip to thrift store? Ringer for repeat business? There is no excuse in retail for acting like the ice queen even if you are disabled. Its still your job.

Very possibly the best thrift store in Columbus, and Ive been to most of them. Good prices with weekly discounts. Located in an affluent area and it shows!

I LOVE THIS STORE, Ive never walked in and not found SOMETHING. Im also very satisfied in knowing that Im helping people in my community and I espescially love the last Tuesday of every month 50% off.

Went in to see if they had a coat rack (they didnt) but found a belt. Wait in line. It didnt have aexplace on it. They wouldnt sell it to me! The woman at checkout was apologetic. I asked if the manager was there. Manager with a stony face he says he cant sell it. I told them Id pay whatever. All the belts ranged from .99 to 2.99. Geez, charge me top price! They wouldnt do it and no explanation as to why. Boo, hiss bad show!

Dont come here if you dont have a lot of time... They do not organize by size but by color, groups and styles (i.e., womens sweaters, womens nicer sweaters, infants, toddlers). I think it would be more efficient to group by size dor the fact that Ive rarely gone into a thrift store thinking... Hmmm I need a sweater! Its more like... Can I find anything nice in my size? Amiright Lol.Anyway.Staff seems very average and neutral. They are always working... Ive never seen an employee stand around and talk/play on their phone like Ive seen at many other businesses these days.A previous review said a woman named Kim was really rude on the phone. If hes talking about who I think hes talking about (long gray hair usually in a ponytail, bigger glasses...) He is probably either sensitive or perhaps rude as well. He sounds bitter and a tad entitled. Or maybe she really was idk. Ive never had a problem with her and she actually has always been really nice to me, so I was shocked to read that.I am actually relieved to see her when I walk in because Ive had a not so great experience with a different cashier. This woman appears to be nice but it is very forced, fake and has a condescending tone. Her facial expressions do not match what she is saying. And no, not a resting B face, seriously its like a stink face. She has shoulder length gray hair often worn down. If she wears glasses, they are smaller... Perhaps readers.I dont really blame either one really. Dealing with the general population is tough!I DID see a man donate a giant bag of clothing once... I didnt know the person accepting it (manager?) but they didnt seem very happy about it. Really off putting and it totally made me NOT want to donate to them. There are plenty of other organizations that are a lot more gracious; a simple smile and a thank you really goes a long way!!

This is one of the better VOAs in the city. Theres a good selection, the store is clean and organized, and most merchandise is well priced.

Would have stayed longer but the air conditioning didnt work and it was way too hot to shop. We were sweating so bad to shop.

Decent selection of typical thrift goods, and a few better brand racks. I think its ridiculously expensive for donated goods, which makes me question the intent for this non profit organization.

Ok, sure they have a couple cheap things. I just feel they are very rude. I dont know if they hate their jobs, or if they are rascist. They just always have attitudes everytime i go in there. Someone asked a worker if they had toys, and she said (in a snobby way) Well...if we did they would be on the floor but they have a whole toy section. Always smart little remarks and sarcastic smiles. Sometimes you smile at them and they give you the driest look. Its like they are trained to treat the customers poorly...

Alot of great deals on clothing but not much house goods

I used to like this store but after today 2-27-15 Id had a change of heart. After being a frequent customer at this Volunteers i was disgusted when some lady who worked their accused me of changing a price tag and sticking onto another item. I attempted to defend myself but she blew me off and im guessing she told her manager. Uh like wtf for 90 cent gloves both the same price right next to eachother. I guess i didnt realize checing a price tag was a crime. I later saw her on working on register 3 around 8pm after making a purchase at the display counter. Upon my exit i passed her and i felt very uneasy in the sence that all eyes were on me from her, the manager, and anyone else she told. Id like to go back because it was one of my favorite locations however after this experience im not sure it will be anytime soon.
