Used to love the place. Not so much anymore. The people there are friendly which is why Im even giving 3 stars. But the repairs take too long now and the work is poorly done. Will be happy to update review if things seem better at some point. I know all businesses have bad and good times.

I appreciate their professionalism and honesty. Took my phone in for a repair. After a quick look, they realized that they could easily fix the problem without having to replace any parts. Cleaned out a few parts and solved my problem at no cost to me and in very little time. Wonderful experience!

I come here all the time. Today I went in having issues with my external hard drive that Ive been trying to fix myself for days. They reformatted it for me and unlocked read and write access in a few minutes with no charge. Great people, great service!
Well they fixed it, but it took a little over a week. When I was told when I dropped off my laptop, it would be the next day. I think the issue was with the delivery service. Either way. It was fixed
The gold standard of customer service. Clean office, knowledgeable staff, speed and precision of service all delivered in a consumer-focused manner. Don’t know what more you could ask for. (Except maybe the good fortune to never need their repair services, but I digress.)Dropped my phone off an hour and some change before their closing time. My screen was totally destroyed, and it was returned as good as new by closing. The staff even stayed a few minutes after their closing time to make sure I had my phone in hand instead of having to wait until the following morning. Kudos to this place.

Great service. My iPhone 7 screen was totally smashed. They fixed it in less than 2 hours...it looks and works great. Cost $150 which I think is very reasonable given the speed and quality of repair.
They initially worked on my phone, and had a bit of trouble with it. It seemed completely dead. After they volunteered to review my item again, they were able to fix my iPhone. I was charged extremely fairly, given all the time and personal focus they gave my phone. When it was initially unresponsive, they could have just said Phone is dead. and left it at that. This company focuses very strongly on the customer, and try their best to make things right.I am so pleased with their services, and cannot recommend them enough!
I cannot recommend the iMechanic in Columbus. I dropped off my phone for a new screen and was told to return at 5:30 and it would be done. I returned at 5:30 and was told they still needed 45 min and asked if I could wait. I couldn’t so I verified that I could and would pick it up the next day at noon. I arrived the next day and 12:06 and was told that they we “finishing up” and needed about 45 minutes and asked if I could wait. At this point it was obvious that they hadn’t even started and that the repair must take 45 minutes. I could not wait so I verified that I would return at 5:00 pm. Upon returning I was told they needed to do some final testing and that they needed about 45 minutes and asked if I could wait. I have a job and a family I cannot spend nearly an hour waiting. I still do not have my phone going on day 3.
Got my battery replaced by them under warranty.Pros - service was fast. Usually got my device back within two hoursCons - Had to go back every third day because1) Battery wasnt holding charge. Would drop to 4% from 30+% and cell wont even boot after shutting down without warning2) screen was never fully glued onto the cellphone chassis. Screen kept popping up every single time I got it repaired.For the price it costs ($70) I wouldnt recommend them as fast service that doesnt hold up for even three days is of no use.PS - the premium replacement battery they gave me is now bloated so it didnt even last a full month.

Friendly and helpful. My Surface Pro hard drive died. They did a free check to confirm. It costed half of what Microsoft wanted to repair it and that also included having them install a larger hard drive. Surface tablets are very difficult to work on, and I got it back perfect again.
They messed up my phone bad amd couldnt even put the SIM card on my phone the right way, they put it backwards. There were more problems to deal with afterwards but thankfuly my brother in law knows how to fix phones.

Second time they have fixed a broken or cracked screen for me. When it comes to timeliness and job done, they do excellent. Customer service is lacking, the conversation with the cashier was awkward and very forced. They also offer no discount to military, fire or police; students, or returning customers which I find to be a turnoff. However, they do a good job at a fair price.
Does not train employees, makes them watch YouTube videos as a way of learning the tasks theyre supposed to do on customers devices as they come in. If they give you a time to pick up your device expect to add 3 hours to a an entire day for your device to be finished or for them to inform you the device is unrepairable. To be honest, if you have an older iphone like an iphone 8 or below this is the place to go, but if you have almost any other device be weary because your device might lose some functionality when it is back in your care.
I went to Mackinac to fix my LG Nexus 5x smartphone. Both speakers were not working. The guy who attended me is genius. In quick time he identified and fixed the software issue with no cost.
Good place to take electronics nedding repairs. They have repaired a Microsoft Surface, cellphone, and HP Chromebook for me (and ther company where I work). Each person who Ive spoken with has been helpful. The store owner and employees are kind and knowledgable. Pricing for repair is typically less than replacing. Items have been repaired in s timely manner.
Had a screen replaced on my wifes iPhone 5C after she dropped it. It was repaired quickly in a matter of hours for a fair price. Unfortunately a week later the screen had cracked on the top.I took it back and came to find out that the frame on the 5C tends to warp, which can cause the screen to separate from the shell, making it easy to crack. Despite the clear call out on the receipt that said these cracks were not covered by their warranty, the shop still covered my crack and replaced the screen at no cost. They didnt have to do that, but they did anyway which was really impressive to me and showed they had great integrity. Ill definitely be sending more business their way (and telling my wife to be more careful!)
Very bad repair of screen. So darkness and cannot automatically adjust brightness with I-phone 8. It’s probably they are using unofficial screen that is cheaper than apple screen. I’ve asked bad they said it’s normal. Where is your eye. Don’t recommend this store.—> After that, they repaired my phone as free by using original screen. It took few days because no stock in store, but much much better. I hope they won’t use “High Quality Screen” next repair without customer agreement.

I dropped my phone off the 29th of November and was told itd take 3-5 business days for them to get the parts. Almost 3 weeks later its finally finished and they didnt put the back glass on right, so it cracked when I sat down. Pretty convenient that they only have the warranty for undamaged repairs.

My wife dropped off iPad Air 3 to repair a button. Was told it was $40 to $60 for repairs. Later they contacted us to state that there was nothing they could do. The guy at the counter wanted to charge me a $40 diagnostic fee. I was livid since nothing was done. He took $20 and I took the tablet with me. Just go with Apple or buy a new tablet. These guys are amateurs

My iphone 6 charger port had been giving me issues for quite a while where I had to keep wiggling the wire for it to charge. Stopped all of a sudden today. Went over to the store and the mechanic fixed it in no time. Didnt charge me a penny. Super relieved!

Went in to get my wifes phone fixed, they didnt call back for a week, went in and got it and was treated quite poorly, didnt mind much, but then i brought the phone to my wife and she was very happy, but once i called her to see if everything was working properly (the issue was i couldnt call her) the phone exploded and she died, would not recomend to a friend

Update: Actually did receive my device on Sunday. However, my perfectly functioning iPod now has a small crack in the screen, and the power button, volume up button, and wifi no longer work.This place is ridiculous. Their communication is horrible and they cant seem to meet a deadline. I brought an iPod in for a new battery on December 15. He said it would be done the next day, Sunday, and they would call to let me know. Monday comes around with no call, so I call them multiple times and no answer. Call them Tuesday, no answer. On Thursday I decide to go pick it up, and they hadnt even gotten started because they said they tried to call (I had no calls from them) to get confirmation that I wanted the battery replaced. Why did they need another confirmation? She said they would get it done that evening. I called just before they closed and it wasnt done. Called again Friday afternoon and they said their batteries were defective so they needed to order a new one and it would be 5 or so days. This was to be a Christmas gift for a young kid, so we made arrangements for me to come pick it up, with the old battery put back in, Friday evening. I called before leaving and they say it isnt done but will get it done before closing. Then they called back a few minutes later and say that only the manager can do it so it will be done Saturday by noon. My husband went to get it Saturday afternoon and its still not done! They claim that they called, yet we have no calls from them. They say it will be done tomorrow, Sunday, but Im not counting on it. I have to drive 30 minutes to get to the store, so I would appreciate it actually being done when they say or them calling to let me know whats going on. Simply put, this place is unreliable and the service is very dissapointing. I should have trusted the bad reviews and went somewhere else.

Broke my iPhone 6 screen. Took it here to be repaired. When I got my repaired phone back, my phone died and would not charge. I was forced to wipe the entire phone memory in order to undo what they had done to my phone. This place totally screwed up my phone. I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere!!!

The staff is very attentious and seems to know things, BUT, here is my experience:- Came in Friday morning with a deffective screen (basically part of the screen went bad from the touch standpoint and colors). Phone and apps (which I could touch and open) were working just fine. Battery was fine as well.- Screen replacement was detected to be the problem. It was supposed to be done same day by 3pm.- my personal whole hypostesis was that was VAPOR may have gotten into the screen. But this was NOT confirmed.Here is where the problem starts:- Got there at 3:10pm, and screen was not replaced.- Around 4pm they were done and phone was handed to me. I paid for the service. Turned on the phone. Battery was showing 1% ... and then 13% ... and then 25% ... and then 33% ... and then 14% ... and then phone restarted. No apps would open after restart and the described cycle kept happening.- Requested for a fix. They took back.- By 5:10pm they came out with no solution. Had to leave the store due to personal commitments.- Came back Monday by lunch time. Was told 4:30pm was going to be done.- Got there by 5:15pm and they were working on the phone. No solution.- Offered to give my screen back and give me a refund (was planning to take to my carrier to just buy a new phone). My screen was off somewhere and it would take 2 days to get back. Not an option for me.- Offered if they could give me even an used phone for the price of the screen since it came in working (except for the screen) and no, they dont have that option.- Offered if they could give me another phone since it came in working and I was leaving with a damaged phone that could potentially have happened during screen replacement. Answer was NO since it had water damage. Asked for any evidence on the phone of that, and they said no.- Then I was offered to wait for a 15 mins cleaning, which lasted for 50 minutes AND absolutely contracditcs the water damage theory (why would you clean it if you already said it was water damaged?).Long story short, they are getting one start only because:1) the fact something happened while or was triggered by the screen replacement and they stated there was water damage for sure with absolute no evidence of it other than my hypotesis2) the stor ehas no policy from damagings your customers and put all the costs on your shoulders.3) absolutely no respect to agreed schedule / fix times. They got it wrong by about 2hrs on both days made me stay at the store.I dont think anyone had any bad intentions on any of the sides, but the above is a compbination of business policy and lack of commitment to the customer.
Took our ipod in for a new battery. It took a week to get it back. We used it for the first time after the new battery on our road trip out west. The ipod did not seems to hold the charge, then one our 5th day of the trip we noticed the the ipod was bulging and cover was partially off. It had not been dropped or mishandled. The metal cover over the insides was bulging. Not sure what they did to it but it it now useless, we have it sitting outside, we were afraid it was going to explode or something. Not real happy with imechanics.
Had a good experience, very fast service in my case. Have an iPhone 5s in which Siri feature was not working. Siri was not recognizing anybody’s voice; sometimes it did, sometimes it didn’t, I even tried what different websites asked. Siri is now working and i needed it to work because i think is useful and it is. By the way, the price was reasonable.Thank you and keep up your good work imechanics.

I took my IPhone X into this store and had the manager at the time put a screen protector and a case on for me, when I got home I noticed that my screen had bubbles in it so I took off the case and that broke too. I tried to call the store with no answer. I will never shop here ever again.
I was probably in the store five different times in the last week and a half because of several issues with my phone. All of the issues likely for the same reason. They worked hard to fix the issues, but ultimately it was beyond repair. Even though they spent a lot of time trying to fix it, they didnt charge me anything. Ive been in several times before for other minor issues, and they have always done a nice job.

I am a student at IUPUC and needed my computer fixed in a timely manner for school. My macbook pro would not turn on and I took it in for a diagnostic test. They told me I needed to leave it for a short while. One week later I received a phone call that said they had figured out it needed to be sent to Bloomington. It is two weeks after that and I have still not heard from them. They seem to not care for the customer at all.
This is the second time I have had the need to repair my devices. Always fast turn around and excellent service.

Have an air 2 Ipad. The screen cracked and I thus began exploring my options. I called Apple and their repair of the screen for the air 2 is $379. Steep, but I knew that they would be. I also know that Apple will repair correctly. So, when I called imechanic and asked the first thing they told me was I think Ive only seen one ipad air 2 in here before, so Im not sure on the price. Should have been a red flag. They then look into it and tell me it would be $250-$300. We all know what that means when they give you a range. It is always the high end and it was for this one, $300 to have them repair it verses $379 for the Apple repair. 5-7 business days for the repair and they are a local business, so I agreed to have them repair it.Dropped it off on a Monday and began calling to check on it that following Thursday. The part had not arrived yet. When I, of course, asked when it would arrive, they didnt know. They assumed it would be the following Tuesday (they get shipments on Tuesdays and Thursdays). Of course, I indicated that this is now beyond the 5-7 days that they had said it would take. They were sorry, but there is nothing they can do (common theme). I called back on Tuesday and they put me on hold and had to check the shipment that had arrived, so they hadnt been watching for the part, even though they had gone past the timing they had told me. He comes back, no part. Maybe it was shipped to the office in Bloomington, he tells me. I bet that is what happened, Ill call them and run to Bloomington today and get it, he says. So, he agrees to call me right back and let me know. A few hours pass and I get no call. I call back, its not in Bloomington. Where is it? They dont know, it must be coming on Thursday. I call back on Thursday, note that they dont call to give me updates on my late, overpriced, repair. The part did not arrive on Thursday either. So, I ask, are you sure that it has been ordered? When did the supplier say it would arrive? They dont know. You see, apparently, they never know when parts will show up, they just cross their fingers and tell the customer and estimate on time that suits them. Of course, I have to wait til the following Tuesday and call them, yet again. Again, shipment there but they dont know if my part is there. Im on hold. At this point, Im ready to tell them to cancel if they dont have the part. The part is finally there!So, this is at 3:30 on a Tuesday (over 2 weeks from when I dropped it off). They are open til 7, so I figure they can finish the repair on Tuesday, right? I told him I would come by around 12 on the following Wednesday to get it, of course Im thinking that it would be done Tuesday night. I call back Tuesday night at 6:30, nope, not done. I called on Wednesday morning at 11:30, ready to go get it, not done. Its a lengthy repair, should be done by 1!So, amidst all of this, I also indicated that I believe they should discount the quoted price due to their handling of this. Seemed fair to me, if they had told me 2.5 weeks at the beginning, I would have repaired it through Apple. I had been very patient. Well, it seems the $300 price is pretty much at cost. Really? First, pretty much is not at cost and I dont think it is unreasonable for this to have been at cost for them, if they cared for the customer at all. He did offer to put a $30 glass protector on top of the screen for free for me. Once I found out that it adheres to the glass, I passed on that. Again, you would think if they could offer a $30 glass protector, they could offer to take $30 off. Nope. This tells me they cant move the glass protectors and pass them to unhappy customers for free.In Summary, if you want to have to call and check continually on your repair, have the time far exceed the quoted time, pay a premium price, and have them unwilling to ensure your satisfaction, then use imechanic. Otherwise, skip. They are not trustworthy.
