I was pleasantly surprised that the offer I received online did not change upon review and inspection. The staff was all very friendly and kind.My only gripe is the length of time it took from start to finish. My appointment was at 4:30 pm but we did not walk out the door until after 7pm. Which would have been totally fine had the proper expectation been set at the time of setting the appointment. Online it says it takes about 20-30 mins and I imagine the representatives are coached to say the same upon check in. While the experience as a whole was good, my only suggestion would be to convey a 1-3 hour wait time regardless of whether or not an appointment was set.Ty!
Stopped by yesterday to look for a car and it was pretty clear as soon as I walked in that the salesperson was not super confident in what they were doing. I had scheduled an appointment to test drive a car which I reiterated when I walked in. We were taken to the desk and the salesperson started pulling up the inventory they had and going through it with me. I stated again that I had already made an appointment to test drive a specific car. After being told he didnt see it in inventory, I pulled up my email to show him. It wasnt showing up because I had it reserved.We finally got to the point of the test drive. The car pulled up and I noticed immediately that it had a flat tire (I could hear the air leaking from it). I was also told the breaks sounded like they were rubbing together. There were some minor damages in the interior as well (nothing serious, but certainly not worth the price point). We only drove close by as I was super nervous about the tire that was losing air as I was driving.When we came back, we were ushered back to the desk. We asked about pricing and wanted to go over some questions but were more or less thrown into getting started on the buying process after being told that our salesperson in full disclosure had never done this part before. We went through all the paperwork only to find out that the salesperson missed the financing step on the first page and we had to start all over again. At one point I had to guide him through his own paperwork process because he wasnt clicking the correct button to move on and just kept doing the same thing again and again with no luck until I stepped in. He finally brought another person in to help him out after maybe 30 minutes of nonsense. This guy was super nice and got us moving along.After seeing our financing options and such, we thanked them and got ready to move along (since we wanted to compare, and also I didnt have all day to spend there). They essentially said they could get their computer to pull up our bank statements to make the purchase. Way too pushy. We thanked them again and got out of there. I ended up going to a dealership nearby to make my purchase.I know everyone needs to start somewhere, but my advice to CarMax would be to train their employees BEFORE theyre in front of customers instead of just letting them loose during the actual buying process. Not a good experience and I wouldnt recommend it.

I had a good experience when talking with salesman when purchasing a 2021 Corvette with 200 miles on it. I wanted to pay with my company check and use my tax Resale cert not to pay tax. The manager and her boss would not allow it. Also I wanted to put in TN address, and they wanted it to go from OhIo to my KY address. So I finally agreed to move forward and fix the tax situation at a later date. I called to speak with my salesman and left a couple messages for him to call me back to discuss further after purchase. No one called me back. I also sent two emails to my salesman and no reply. I don’t recommend Car Max for a good buying experience. They just don’t seem to want to help out. I went to another dealership and bought another used Corvette the next day a 2020 Model. It’s was a really good experience. So the difference of the two was huge. I’m really dissatisfied with the Car max dealership experience. Still no response and the other dealer will answer the phone and reply when I need. My other dealership Walters Auto group allowed me to use my tax ID and helped me get it all done.

Had to take my newly purchased car in as the brakes were making a noise. I was really nervous! I have a mechanic I trust with a small local business but had to use Carmax warranty. The service manager Karin was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! She exceeded my expectations. They fixed the brakes as I had hoped and something else minor they found. She made me feel so comfortable. I would not hesitate to trust her with my car again. 100% Excellence.
The hole process was short and sweet. I never like signing any kind of legal documents, but this was as good as I would ever want. Nice experience, overall.
CarMax made us a great offer online, so we took it in and got a check for the exact amount quoted. Very short wait and the agents were efficient and professional. Later when we realized we had left one of our remotes in the car, they were super helpful in tracking it down and holding it until we could pick it up. Very impressed with their overall professionalism.
I went online and got a quote for my jeep, took it in the next day, everyone was very helpful and friendly, the wait was a little longer than I expected ( about an hour and a half) but it was also a very busy Saturday. Overall I was very impressed and I would do it again.

Overall positive experience. I did have to wait longer than was told, I understand there were other customers but there were a lot of carmax sales associates that were standing around talking and not assisting customers.

It was a very smooth experience, I came in on a Saturday got my quote in writing went home thought about it for a few days then I came back on Friday and drove into there sell your car lane stopped, and in a matter about 2 hours I walked out their front door with my check in hand and my banks check on its way to take care of the balance owed. I Like their process from start to finish the process was through and moved right along, they ordered my 2 test drives for me. I picked mine and then we did the paperwork & Financing. The truck has been good to me no issues on regular Maintenance. Paid it off on target even really liked my Salesman.
Insanely easy to sell a vehicle here. I entered everything online and got an appraisal that I figured wouldn’t actually reflect what they would pay me. However I did end up getting the price of the online offer with no haggling. I was in and out in a hour. Definitely recommend selling to them.

The car buying experience was great. No hassle experience. The only improvement I would recommend is to actually clean the cars before the customer drives off the lot. Our recent purchase they said after the test drive they will get it all cleaned up and detailed. They literally spent more time putting on the CarMax license plates and sticker than they did cleaning the vehicle. They swept it out and that was it. The dash was nasty and the windows were not touched. First thing I had to do when I got home was detail a dirty vehicle.
This was my second purchase with CarMax and wont be my last. They really do make buying a used car easy and painless. Everyone there is super nice and Dave is a fantastic salesman. Highly recommend!

I went into CarMax because I drove around to a ton of other used car lots only to find less than decent cars. I was looking for something reliable and nice. After looking online to see what they had on the lot we went there to look at a ford fusion. As soon as we went through the door we where greeted by Brian Bishop. Brian asked what we where looking for and then proceeded to take us out to where all of the fusions where sitting. He then left us alone to look at all the different ones they had. We found one we liked went inside and sat down with him and started the paperwork. Brian quickly got us through the process and then out test driving the car. We bought it but before we left they cleaned the car up and topped off the tank wich I thought was pretty awesome! All in all I had a great experience at CarMax because of Brian! Melissa in the back who did all the signatures and paperwork did a great job going over everything too!!

Easy to sell car. Allowed me financial freedom from having to bring a leased vehicle to spec. Got money back, even. I would have been out over my mileage allowance fee, some minor body dent repair fees, and end of lease fees. Instead I got a check and Carmax bought the car as is. Staff was really friendly and efficient. I was there a total of 1.5 hours for appraisal and final sale.
I had a car transported from another state to test drive. It was an ordeal to talk to a real person about the status of the car and to schedule a test drive. Now that I have the car, Ive taken it to my dealer and they have found a number of relatively serious brake issues along with the need for an alignment. I believed that Carmax actually checked over the cars as they advertise, but now dont believe that they do. The fee - $250 - for transferring your registration seems extremely high. You dont get that news until youre signing paperwork. Carmax is going to fix all the mechanical issues and I am hoping they do a good job. The car was not cheap and I expect to have excellent work. Also - the media center was not put back to default and I spent hours cleaning all the previous owners phone numbers, contacts, etc. from the system. That should have been done by Carmax. I dont think I could recommend them to a friend.

This was my first buying experience with CarMax. Having purchased many cars previously, this was a bit disappointing from a customer service perspective. Small things such as, having the car cleaned before I test drove it, offering me coffee or water when I entered, someone there to open the door for me rather than waiting for me to walk up to the counter where three employee were congregating. Additionally, my sales person didn’t know basic things bout the car. Why not??? These touch points separate good from great.

I wanted a Honda Accord Touring 2.0t. After test driving a few at other dealerships, we decided to buy from CarMax. They seemed to have the car we wanted and we had dealt with them in the past and we had a favorable experience then. We found one we liked and I had it shipped to our location. We were all set to buy the car. The insurance was switched over—the financing was set-up—-the test drive was only going to be a technicality.I’m glad I did. When we took the car out the car absolutely roared down the road—it wasn’t right. When we got back to CarMax I let them know that there was something seriously wrong with the car—he took it back out and confirmed there was an issue. He asked me to let him try to get the issue resolved—but there wasn’t anyone there on the July 4th weekend to approve a course of action on the car.So I got a call the next afternoon—-turns out all four tires on the car were cupped. The management of the Dayton, OH CarMax got together and decided not to replace them—they were the MXM4’s original to the car—they refused to accommodate us.Long story short—while I did ultimately buy from CarMax again—a different car at a different location—and this will be my last purchase from them. All of the goodwill I had—from my previous experiences with them were wiped out in an instant with the callous and cheap way we had been treated dealing with by their staff and management.

I have bought three cars from the Easton dealership and will say I will never go back ever again or consider telling someone to go the to buy anything. I dont understand what changed. Took three times to finally get the truck he ordered. They changed the loan agreement and trade in price. Seems like everyone there hates their life and it shows through their attitude. So if you think about Easton I strongly recommend you look somewhere else.

I went to this location to purchase a new car. I was going to go for a run after so I had running clothes on. I walked in and nobody even greeted me. I walked around the lot for 30 minutes and not a single person asked if I needed help. I then walked back inside and there were several workers and not a single one even said hello or asked if I needed help.My car was stolen so I have to buy a new vehicle. You lost a customer today, and I will never recommend this location.

The process was easy. CarMax honored the online offer to buy my car. Only one hiccup--I have two Volkswagens and they got the wrong payoff so paperwork was wrong when I went to sign. That took some time to sort out. Hopefully they learned a lesson about cross checking vin numbers. I provided the account number for the loan but the mistake occurred when they chose to use my social for the payoff instead. Alls well that ends well.

This was the third car I’ve bought from CarMax. The first time at Easton. The first two at Dublin, if I had to pick one I’d say go to Dublin every time after this experience. The salesperson made everything feel like a struggle, had to repeat everything multiple times. However after I got to the home delivery people everything got so much better.
Everyone was awesome helping us get our car! We got a flat on the way home and they fixed immediately. I wont go anywhere else for a vehicle! They work with your down payment and monthly payments to match you with the perfect lender! Thank you carmax ❤

Customer support team is a real joke ! Forgive me I’m disappointed and angry for their unwillingness to accept responsibility for selling me a defective car, however after reading other reviews I realize it’s happened to others . One customer purchased her car in April as well and now found out she needs a new engine.Please take your car to a mechanic or a detailed inspection, have them up it up on the rack and look under the car as well prior to signing any documents .The statement used in advertising just didn’t apply to me and her. You too can be a victim from(Carmax slogan)The way car buying should be .Just at three months I purchased my dream car and while driving I almost lost my life. The back tires separated the rod snapped into. I tried contact the GM to inform him of my situation. The car had almost 9K miles it’s now just over 10k I drive it to work 4 minutes from my job. I’m saddened that the blame has been sifted on me. The car had a prior accident, according to Carfax . I put my faith and trust in Carmax since it’s reputation has been pleasing. I was told it was under warranty now I’m fighting with Mercedes Benz to repair it. The tech at Mercedes Benz even suggested I lie to my insurance company to have it repaired. I hope this ends with me as happy as I was when I drove off Carmax lot. I’ll follow the results. Went to appointment, they evaluated truck, and it took awhile because my lender wasnt quick to answer. But one hour and 15 mins later went home with good results. I would’ve considered purchasing my vehicle here to get the unique and professional dealership experience but decided to go someplace else as this place is extremely outdated. There is peeling wallpaper EVERYWHERE. Yes, WALLPAPER. They pride themselves on selling newer used vehicles, but don’t take into consideration keeping the facility up to date and renovated. There are images showing vehicles from the early 2000s and late 1990s! I’ve been here once on a sunny day, and once on a rainy day where water seeped through the roof and ceiling in some areas. The service bay looks very unprofessional. Colors look random without any design whatsoever with odd holes everywhere. The walls in the service bay look older than my great grandma. I wouldn’t consider servicing my vehicle here especially if I had to wait in the outdated waiting area with chairs that look like they were stolen from the office of the pediatrician I saw 30 years ago. I tried the coffee which was cold. There wasn’t even any water available other than walking across the store to a water fountain near even more outdated restrooms with friendly families of cockroaches and beetles greeting you at the door. Disgusting and sad! This place needs a major overhaul!
Came here to sell my car. Kenny was incredibly helpful and everyone was so nice and welcoming. Strictly abided by social distancing guidelines which I appreciate. I didn’t see a single employee without a mask! I truly appreciate everything they did for me and Kenny deserves the best shout out for being an amazing employee!!

This is the worse place to ever buy a car. They sold me a hybrid car with a faulty warranty that don’t cover anything. My cars hybrid battery is $4000 dollars and they aren’t offering to cover a thing. They will fix your car just enough until you are out of your manufactures warranty. I’ve left messages for the GM Andrew and never received a call back. I spoke with Jeff the service manager and Sam from corporate who assured that I would receive a call from Andrew and haven’t. I advise you to use rideshare before purchasing anything from this company. I should have went with my first instinct when I first purchased my car in my 7 day return policy had to be restarted three times due to issues with the car. A person I referred had issues with her car and had to have her return policy reset as well. When asked to speak with a supervisor at corporate Sam refused to let me speak with anybody further. I will never refer anybody to purchase a car from this company.
Went online and input my vehicle’s data on Edmunds.com. I immediately received an offer from CarMax and made an appointment with CarMax Morse Rd location. Offer also included list of four items I needed to bring to sell my vehicle to CarMax. Upon arrival at Morse Rd location I was greeted and told someone would be right with me. A few minutes later I was introduced to Adam, who then asked to see my vehicle. As Adam was doing his inspection, he learned I had an offer from Edmunds and asked if I’d like him to complete his offer, and advised I could take the higher of the two offers. I agreed, and in just a few minutes I was back in the waiting area. John then brought me an offer and took me back to the business office, where Stephen then looked at my title documentation and advised there would be no problem as it was an electronic title. John could not explain why the offer was $300.00 lower than the Edmunds offer, so I proceeded to finish the process in the business center. As I was walking outside to my car, I saw Adam and asked him if he could explain why I received the lower offer. Adam agreed to investigate and asked me to wait in the business center. Adam provided me timely updates during his hour long investigation, and ultimately advised that an error had been made and I would indeed receive the higher offer. Everyone at the Morse Rd location was friendly, courteous, and professional, but Adam’s efforts demonstrated outstanding customer service and I really appreciated not losing $300.00 on the offer. I highly recommend this location, as the process was quick and easy, and I was not pressured to buy a replacement vehicle.
I bought a car from the Easton location. I had it for a week and realized it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. I returned it and they shipped another car from the Dayton location and let me exchange. The process was very easy. The Sales rep Brian B. provided excellent service and communication throughout the entire experience.
Great people to work with. I called for my appointment time and got one the same day. I was advised that a mask was required when I went inside.Apparel went well. Due to 241100 miles on the car I thought it was fair price. I was advised if I wished to sell within 7 days the apparel was still good. I was also advised where to park if I wished to sell.I decided to sell, I had my drivers license, car title and car registration. This process took about 40 minutes. When the paper work was done all I had to do was sign the forms. They had a new ink pin in plastic sleeve. A CarMax reusable bag with the license plate, copies of the paperwork and check for the amount agreed upon.Thank you for making it so easy,

When we got in to the car the radio was on and air conditioner on high. As we were driving we thought we heard a sound, turned every off and we could hear a very bad grinding sound. No idea if it was on purpose, but did not sit well with us. We did not buy the car..

I saw what I liked and gave my sells person what I was looking for, what I wanted to spend and how much time I had. He nailed all of it. I drove away in the car I wanted and on my terms. This is my second car from Carmax love working with them.
I want to start by saying I’d consider buying another car from CarMax in the future.I found that the staff at the Easton location to be very helpful and knowledgeable. The location is a little older and looks like it needs to be updated to keep up with other dealerships.As far as my vehicle, I actually had it transferred from a different store. The condition of the interior would be my only complaint. If I was purchasing it from a typical car dealership, it would’ve been detailed and reviewed thoroughly before it was ever put up for sale.I can’t blame the Easton store on how clean the interior was, since I believe the store it came from should’ve done a better job in preparing the car for sale. I don’t have any other experience with CarMax, so I don’t know if this was an isolated incident or business as usual.The Easton store didn’t have the staff on the weekend to correct the issues. I would’ve needed to call that Monday to schedule a time to bring it back in to have it done. I decided to clean it myself. Honestly, if it was clean when I received it, I would’ve gone over it again myself.The van wasn’t terribly dirty but it had some issues. The headliner had spots from drinks, and dirt from people moving in and out of the vehicle. It had dried spills in the gaps around the seats, that never got cleaned. The rear seats had a few spots that needed some extra work to get removed.After about two weeks, I did bring my van back in because I had issues with the sliding doors. They checked it over and sent it out to be repaired, at no cost to me. They gave me a courtesy vehicle while this was being done. The van was returned to me fixed with no other issues.Since my van was just out of the original warranty period, I was very glad CarMax includes a 90 day warranty. I’d still would suggest checking any car over before purchasing it, since not everything is covered.I did trade in a vehicle at CarMax. I had done my homework on KBB to know what to expect for a value. I did my own evaluation on their site and received the same amount when the store evaluated it. I actually did the evaluation two weeks before I traded it in. When I actually did trade it in, they re-evaluated it and the value increased by $200. That says a lot about the current market, and no matter if it was in my favor or theirs; they still went with the new updated value.In conclusion, no matter where you purchase a car, do your homework. I would’ve expected more on the cleanliness of the vehicle, but outside of that, I would consider doing business with CarMax again.

Very friendly and clean. I did my pre-approval online, so it was super fast and easy. I got there and my car was ready for a test drive after a two day period transfer. Everything was perfect and ready to go. We got in and out within two hours, including the test drive.

Bought a car here and had some issues and confusion about how some stuff worked. Called in to see what could be done and they had me schedule an appointment. They charged me another $200 and had me waiting 7 hours just to show me how to use some features properly.
Excellent customer service, attention to detail, 30 day return policy, WOW. I actually enjoyed my car buying experience! I found a car online and ordered a transfer to Ohio. A CarMax associate called within 5 minutes offering me two options, to have the car delivered to my home or to the Easton store. I worked with Brian at Easton. He was very nice, professional, and attentive to my questions. I loved my 24 hour test drive complete with a Dunkin gift card and list of 24 things to do with the car! Afterwards, Brian made sure a few minor things were adjusted and I was on my way with my automatic Mini Countryman, replacing my 2012 stick shift Countryman. Brian called a few days later to confirm all is well and to contact him if anything arises with the car. I have told my family and friends about CarMax.

Carmax is the only way to buy cars, folks. They have inventory and good pricing. Could you get the same car cheaper? Maybe, but hassle-free is the name of the game.We live three hours away from this location, but we saw what we liked online, and called them to hold it for us. When we got there, we had all the papers and down payments with us. They gave our trade in a quick appraisal, and not long after that, Tom handed me the keys and we were on our way.Great value and great service. I really dont want to buy cars any other way.

Everytime I come to this particular location I have HORRIBLE service. Rather it’s a customer service issue or an issue with the service being provided. But there is only 2 locations in Columbus and the other location is booked.
I love love love my Honda Fit. Robin in sales made my buying experience so easy and fun. CarMax even does all the registration and title paperwork so you don’t have go BMV, and CarMax sends you your new plates. Robin printed all temporary tags and insurance cards even. Their signing department was very smooth and informative. I recommend CarMax to everyone.
