My husband and I were visiting from Orlando, Florida and stopped into Winans Chocolates and Coffee shop. Both the chocolates and the coffee were delicious. We tried their fall Banana Nut blend and it was a unique and flavorful coffee. The coffee shop itself is very attractive and cozy and the staff were very friendly.

Their hot chocolate tasted great, was just the right temp, and was fairly priced! Nice atmosphere when I was there at 1pm on Thursday. Very relaxed and friendly.

Stopped in here on a whim while in Columbus for the day as I try to find local coffee places when I’m out of town. So glad I did. Best cup of coffee ever. Telling all my friends that have to come here for softball every weekend to give it a try. Yum!!!!

First time in Columbus and my wife and I came here on a recommendation. VERY OVER-RATED AND OVER-PRICED. We saw a line out of the door but the inside was a MESS. One girl helping two people with chocolate pieces while they took their sweet time like nobody else was waiting. The other worker was talking an order and making each drink one-by-one.We wanted some chocolate pieces but didnt want to wait so we picked up a chocolate bar at the register and the price was SHOCKING. TWO BITS OF CHOCOLATE FOR $3.95 DOLLARS? Charging $4.00 for a chocolate bar smaller than anything at the grocery you would think they could hire more workers!!! OVER-PRICES and LONG WAIT. Maybe this is OK for people who have too much money and too much time who seem to live in the area, but not for people visiting! Not the neighborhood coffee shop we expected! BAD!

Great coffee, great chocolates. Not much else to say! Other than the staff not being too helpful on coffee recommendations, overall a great experience!

My husband and I were staying at an Airbnb close by and wanted coffee so we walked to Winans. I had an iced coffee with hazelnut and chocolate and my husband had a berry iced coffee - both were seasonal specialty drinks and were delicious. What we werent expecting was the wide variety of chocolates they had! We came back a second time during our trip to get another iced coffee and this time an iced tea. We ordered a small box with all different kinds of chocolate and everything was great!

Easily some of the best hot and iced mocha products Ive ever had, and their chocolates are also amazing! The staff are always very welcoming and we had a couple of good laughs while I was in. Very much worth going to!

We are SO glad we ended our Columbus Experience Coffee “hop” at this Germantown Winans location! The staff was AMAZING and the coffees, teas, scones, and chocolates were delicious. This NC family will definitely be back again on our next visit. See you next July!

Great coffee and a chill ambiance.

We decided to visit Winans on Saturday. We have a few winans in there area we are from so we expected good service and good drinks. That was not the case. I dont usually make reviews because its a waste of time. But the service and coffee was so bad i have to. Look at the people who gave good reviews if your not in the complexion range i suggest you go to one of the other coffee shops in the area so you can be treated like a human. We had frappes and they purposefully made our drink so terrible we couldnt even drink them and did not add the things we asked. Which is ok because we went some where else and they were wonderful. We werent disrespectful or rude so to be treated like that was appalling. The worst coffee i have ever had in my life hands down. Its 2021 we are black we are here we are affluent get over it. Not the winans we know and love. So definitely not a review on the company as whole just this particular franchise.

Great assortment of delicious varieties of chocolate and coffee to pair with It! Its small, but clean and tidy. The staff was pleasant and patient as I decided only 3 out of probably 15 temptations. Definitely a cozy place to take a date as a warm up to and sweeten the rest of the evening, because, well, chocolate; dates love chocolate.

Exceptional chocolates and hand crafted drinks, with a fun seasonal drink menu. Seasonal chocolates are also a specialty. Great staff and friendly vibe. Minimal seating, inside and out, but certainly available. 2 blocks from an amazing park. Worth the visit.

Terrible experience there today. Very rude service (the server actually complained to me that I didnt latch the restroom door properly on my way out of it). Also scolded that I needed to wear my mask unless I was actively sipping the $5 drink I just purchased. I was literally bringing my drink to my mouth at the moment. I am 100% for mask wearing, but seriously! She was incredibly rude. It might have been worthwhile if my drink wasnt so poorly blended that I couldnt get any of it through the straw (dime sized chunks of ice!). Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Go to Third Way Cafe, or Roosevelts...or ANYWHERE else. My husband and I visit a local coffee shop every Sunday and this was by far our worst experience. I was looking forward to purchasing chocolates there for Valentine gifts too...they lost a big sale this afternoon!

I frequently visit this coffee shop. I cant say enough about how nice everyone is. The coffee is delicious and Audra, Bronwen and Imari cannot be any more friendly. I highly recommend the coffee and chocolates.

Very rude staffing! I understand there are a restrictions because of covid, but that day was super cold, temperature was 25f( below zero C) I was waiting outside and I could barely breath because of the bad Severe weather I entered the cafe and I had to explained to them and asked them politely to let me stay for few seconds till I warmed up but they asked me to leave in a rude inhuman way and stay outside in 20’s degree weather, till the place is under capacity, I understand the situation but at least it should be a consideration to human being

You will find a great combination of chocolates and coffee. Also, don’t forget about their hot chocolate. Dining in is limited because of Covid. Staff is very friendly and very helpful. Chocolates come in prefilled boxes or you can pick and choose your own assortments. When we were there the restroom was closed and I assume that’s because of Covid. Parking is on the street and so you may have to be prepared to find a parking place and walk to the store. However that would be worth doing once you partake of their goodies. They have a wide variety of chocolates and flavors. You will probably want to sample them all!

First time visiting. Smelled amazing inside. Bought some Christmas gifts and was pleased with selection.

I love their beans and always get my weekly supply there. Today, I splurged and my boyfriend and I both got espresso drinks. Unfortunately, both were very watered down. I wish I would have spoke up because Im very sad I wasted 10 dollars for drinks we just threw away.

I work downtown, and I have many coworkers that are coffee drinkers that love this place (or at least the one that used to be downtown). I havent been a coffee drinker in years, but one of my coworkers gave me a gift card, and I was driving by and decided Id pick up some chocolates for my wife. She picked out some chocolate and a few caramel apples, and when we went to pay with the gift card, I was told that they had changed systems and could not take the gift card yet. I dont understand how a business can sell a gift card, then refuse to take it when you go to use it. Their website still allows me to see the value of the gift card, so how hard is it for them to check their own website, and see that my order was for more than the amount of the card, and just keep it and charge me for the rest. The way this was handled left a bad taste in my mouth and now Im not sure that I want to go back.

While Im not much of a coffee drinker myself. My girlfriend loves their coffee and their karmal kiss is really good. I take her there for coffee so I can get their chocolate candy that is amazing!!!

Fantastic coffee in German Village. Went for the first time and the staff was so kind - fantastic customer service. The drinks were good as well. I ordered an iced coffee drink which wasnt too sweet and full of flavor. The interior isnt too cozy but filled with historic details and character which more than made up for it. Great little place, I will definitely be back!

I love this place! At 64, I am truly like a kid in a candy shop. A perfect date with my wife is a stroll in German Village, topped off with some chocolates and coffee from Winans. Yum!

Great little coffee shop. I actually have not bought any chocolate but the coffee and mochas are always excellent and the service is friendly. Its also usually not too crowded so its a nice spot to hang out. Winans is my go-to for coffee in German Village.

I love Winans. Their chocolates are very very good, very clean tasting, no odd aftertaste, perfect in texture. Over the holidays we tried their Santa chocolates filled with liquid caramel - fantastic! It is very evident their chocolates are handmade with care. The store is very pretty and is located in German Village, itself a very pretty location. Their coffee brew is exceptionally good. Their beans are actually, truly fresh and are roasted properly, meaning they roast their beans to bring out character; they dont burn their beans to a one-dimensional carbon flavor like too many other coffee shops. When I ordered the coffee, they ground the beans just for my order, then did the pour-over drip method right there behind the counter, which is nice to observe.

LOVED IT! Such a cute shop. I had the frozen hot chocolate and it was the best thing I ever had. I also bought a few chocolates to nibble on. They were really good but a bit pricey. I would totally get presents for friends if I wasnt traveling and the weather wasnt 100 degrees out.

Stop Number 12 of my Columbus Coffee Experience! This afternoon with the weather finally being nice there is outdoor seating along with indoor seating which is good. The chocolate selection is great and I will consider that in the future. Today I had Winans coffee and cake. This is a place worth visiting!

Good selection of delicious chocolates including Buckeyes and Liqueurs. Nice clean organised store. Staff were friendly and gave good service but did seem a tad disorganised, I think one of them was new. Frozen Hot chocolate was very tasty, iced tea not so much.

Winans is my favorite place in Columbus to grab coffee and a treat. I love stopping by on my way to/from Schiller Park in German Village. The variety of chocolates is always stellar, and their candies make excellent presents for others! I cant wait for the downtown location to open (on South High St), because that one will be even easier for me to get to!

I was so glad to hear that they opened a location in Columbus. I grew up in the little town where this coffee shop began. The coffee is amazing and the chocolates are to die for. Customer service is outstanding.

I go out my way from Hilliard to get there coffee & chocolates. Thats how good this place is. Im stuck on there caramel frappachinos! There amazing. Everyone there is friendly & I love the atmosphere there. If you havent tried this place yet, your missing out!

Winans is an Ohio gem. I dont feel like I have very much to say about them, because what they do is admirably simple---excellent coffee and inimitable chocolates. This is a go-to establishment for gifts as far as Im concerned. I particularly have enjoyed their iced lattes in the summertime...And if youre a caramel fan (like me), their sea salt caramels are what you need.

They are a nice treat. Two of my favorite indulgences. Coffee and chocolate. I stop in every couple of months and especially during the holiday season. I stock up for friends and family as they drop in, and let them know how special they are to me.

Such a cute little shop. And the prices are very reasonable! I got a large Iced Chai, for like $3 and some change.

Best little stop in the village. I love grabbing a coffee and sometimes a little bite of chocolate when I am walking with my dogs usually towards Schiller. Super sweet staff, and I love that they always have a water bowl out front for the doggos.

When their coffee is good this is a 5 star place for me. But sometimes they manage to get coffee grind into my cappuccino which makes it taste very bitter and makes it a 1 star experience. Will still be coming for a while and hope it doesnt happen too often or I might have to change my mind.

Great place, excellent selection of chocolates, coffee, and frozen drinks. The Buckeyes are the best in town! My only complaint is the staff wasnt very friendly toward me and I felt like they were annoyed by me and/or maybe they thought I was criminal. I still recommend checking Winans out if youre in the area.

I had a really good matcha tea latte, then later got a cup of Winans Blend of coffee, which was also good. I had some chocolate to go with it, and my favorite one was the honeycomb. Makayla (not sure of spelling) was very friendly and answered all the questions of my friend and I. Its a bit expensive there, but they have a Rewards program to help get you free coffee. Ill be back!

Nothing exciting, candy was ok, and coffee typical. Customer service is good...guess I was hoping for the old time German coffee shop, and this is not it. Coffee in a paper cup, I can get that at the gas station for less than half the price.

☹️ I ordered a pound of chocolates and paid for a pound and got half a pound. Some of the chocolates were “old” or stale. Was excited but ended up sad. Visiting the area for our AVS Trade Show and this was supposed to be my splurge for this trip. 🍫🛩
