Dropped film off 3 weeks ago. Haven’t heard anything from Nolan. He isn’t returning any phone calls, emails, or messages. Not sure what’s going on. The service used to be awesome… I dropped off very sentimental film from a cross country trip. Sad to have to write this review.

As a rookie in film cameras, my films unfortunately failed to develop due to overexposure. Nolan understood this and was kind enough to give me a refund. On top of that, he gave me 3 new film rolls for free to retry my luck along with helpful advice! Never would’ve expected such kindness and service. Thank you so much Nolan!

The results are awesome! It came earlier than I thought. I dropped the film at 3ish and they sent me the results at 6:30. The owner gave me a mini tour and so helpful. As a newbie in film camera, I was totally satisfied with the service!

After using CVS and other drugstore chains to develop photos, waiting weeks to months and even losing rolls of film I decided to switch to a professional lab and this place has been extremely reliable. I get my photos back in less than 3 days. It’s a great price and Nolan has great customer service and so much knowledge on any question. I can’t see ever going anywhere else. It’s a great place

It was my first time coming in here a few days ago, and the process was so simple and easy. I got my pictures back in just under 2 days, whereas other places like CVS it took around 2 weeks, or even longer. The quality of my pictures was so much better than CVS too, or anywhere else I’ve been. There’s a much clearer resolution and they looked so much more professional. Will definitely be returning and recommended to friends!

My experience with Columbus Film Lab as been excellent! I took a Kodak disposable camera on vacation and got it developed here vs going to CVS and the quality was so much better! They also gave us digital copies of the photos I had developed which is an option I haven’t seen anywhere else. 10/10 recommend!

I needed photos developed and printed in a very short amount of time after a friend unfortunately passed away. Nolan was super responsive and respectful to my situation and made it seemed like this was now his first priority; I really appreciated this.On top my unique situation, he was really cool am when I came in. As a novice, he explained the process and showed me around his work area. I will absolutely be coming back and taking a workshop soon too!

I would give the Columbus Film Lab more than 5 stars if I could. I had the most amazing experience visiting and getting to take a tour of the place. Nolan is so helpful and gave amazing advice and knows what he is talking about. My pictures came back in LESS THAN 24 HOURS which was AMAZING and I was not expecting that at all. I will definitely be recommending Nolan and the Columbus Film Lab to anyone I know and I will be coming back to develop all of my future film with them. I am so happy with all of my film pictures.

I have had the exact same experience as other negative reviewers. I dropped off my film on 8/30 and was promised same day or next day turnaround for digital files and about a week for prints. Had a very positive interaction with Nolan and was excited to find a local film lab to work with. Nolan said if I didnt hear from him within 24 hours, to just text and check on status. Its been over two weeks and i have texted, called, emailed, direct messaged via Instagram and set up a pick up meeting through his online booking website (which he did not show for). When I met Nolan, he said he was switching studios from the 700 location. Totally understand if there is a delay, but you cannot ghost customers after you take their personal property. The roll of film I dropped off was from the weekend I got engaged and was so sentimental to me. At this point, Im concerned if I will ever get it back and wish I wouldnt have taken the film there.

I dropped film off with Nolan nearly a month ago and I still havent received my negatives or scans. Not only that, but apparently Nolan isnt even in the 700 Bryden building anymore. I paid him nearly $100 and now he isnt responding via phone, email, instagram, or facebook. His darkroom equipment was cleared out when I visited. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt because he did a good job with the first batch I dropped off, but this is bizarre. It is also theft.

UPDATE: After taking my concerns to Google the owner, Nolan, has blown up my phone all morning with aggressive and passive aggressive message despite asking multiple times to stop contacting me. STAY AWAYI had a few friends and local professionals warn me not to use CFL. Decided to give them the benefit of doubt and tried them anyway in an effort to support local. Was given a quote of 2 day turn around time, but was not given the scans for another week and I believe it would have been even longer had I not emailed and texted. For $20/roll you would also expect better quality and color correction, neither of which were given. Now I have to spend even more for a different lab to re scan them and do color correction. Save the money and headache and go elsewhere.

Handed in medium format film that wasn’t fully returned scans were dark, missing photos and not at full resolution. Not to mention photos were ready a week after the promised fulfillment date. Several calls and texts later finally was able to pick up. Bad form. Very bad. The common complaints are valid and concerning. Not to mention several responses from said business owner on this site are in bad taste. Displaying a lack of issue ownership and accountability. Literally, nearly the entire Columbus film community has the exact same issue(s) with this place. These issues have been a consistent part of this company for years and have not been corrected.

Ive brought several rolls of film to the CFL for processing. All 35mm, and both color negative and black and white. Im very fortunate to live in a city that has a strong and passionate community for film photography.I previously brought my rolls to a location on Sawmill for processing. But there is no comparison; the rolls I get back from the CFL are a much higher quality, guaranteed. The CFL has years of experience and knowledge in the medium. But most importantly this film lab takes great personal care of your film and treats every roll like it was there own; making sure it will look the best it can, and this effort really shows.Ive noticed when picking up my film from other labs that there is no real difference in scan quality or color tones between the rolls. It feels like no matter what the film type is, everything I get back is equalized whether its Fuji Superia or Porta. But CFL takes the extra step to keep the integrity of the film. Please keep in mind this is not a typical store-front for now. It is a space in an office building. Because of this, and partly due to COVID-19 some things are handled more informally than you may expect from a typical print shop. But they are trying their best, and trust me, your patience is worth it!Maybe you are someone trying to get some old family photos developed. You could be an old-school photographer trying to preserve the medium. You could even be a brand new film shooter whos just scratching the surface. No matter what, I highly recommend using this lab.

Dropped off my film Wednesday and was told that it would be done the next day which it was not. I showed up at the lab and was let in by another person not related to the lab and the owner was nowhere to be seen. After calling and texting with no response I left. Texted him daily with little to no response. The only response I got was I am working on it now or will update you shortly! which did not happen. Four days later I did get my scans, the black and white scans looked good, but the color scans I could tell were not only not color accurate but also had water splotches which indicates a rushed developing and drying process.Listen to the other reviews and send your film to a reliable service. I was very unhappy with the lack of communication and being stood up when he said he would be there. Very disrespectful, I will not be returning. He texted me after delivering my scans questioning me about my wifes one star review and also mentioning there is an extra charge for rush processing... Which is no where to be seen on his website. To the owner: please reconsider your business model and communicate with you customers. Do not promise what you cannot deliver.

He will gladly take your film and money...but then doesnt deliver. We took our film because Nolan promised we would receive scans the next day. After texting, calling and giving him our estimated arrival time (received no response), we arrived at the lab for pick up and no one was there. Finally, when he texts back there was no apology for standing us up, he still didnt have our film ready. I saw the wonderful reviews of the Film Lab and sent in the first 3 rolls Ive ever shot in late November. On November 30th I paid my invoice and was in contact with Nolan until December 7th, when I was told I *should* have my scans and film sent out that day. Its now December 26th and Ive not received any response from Nolan nor have I received my film or scans. Perhaps my experience is an anomaly, but I would like to give a fair warning to anyone outside of Columbus looking to have their film developed.*UPDATE DECEMBER 31st* I still have not received any response from the Columbus Film Lab, and they have blocked me on social media as well. I am disputing my charge, and have discovered others that have not received their film. I advise against sending your film to this group, otherwise you might wind up in a situation like mine.
