I had been searching around town for a road bikes for about two weeks with nothing to be found. They had quite a few specialized brand bikes in stock, and they do an excellent job of updating what they have via social media. So if you are looking for a bike, I would check there first. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Despite the location next to a very busy street they actually have a very good side street to test ride bikes on. Would definitely recommend.
Best bike shop anywhere around! When we lived in Columbus we made Paradise Garage our go-to spot for bike maintenance, parts, and accessories. Their team treats you with respect no matter your gender or biking style; traits not always seems at other shops. Highly recommend!
Highly recommend for repairs!!! The people here are so nice and greet you when you walk in the door: they answer your questions, listen, and they were able to fix my bike in literally under 20 minutes flat. They talked me through what was wrong and how they fixed it, and texted me when it was ready. Parking is super convenient in the lot next door. Hoping for no more needed repairs soon, but if I have any, I know where to go!! Thanks!
I wanted a good hitch mount platform bike carrier and they recommended the Kuat Sherpa which was a great recommendation for what I wanted. I love it. Side note on the way to loving it— I decided to assemble it myself (even though they offered to do it) and it had too much give in it. I brought it back and they quickly identified the problem. I had inverted the end caps. They offered to reassemble it on the spot and did so. I have also brought my bike there several times for minor repairs. Five stars for all of these things as I’ve had a great experience in all of them. Highly recommended. Will definitely continue to be a customer.
Cool bike shop with great customer service.
They did a great job replacing the front fork on my current bike. Theyve always treated me and my bikes respectfully, even when I was riding a nightmare POS bike, and even when I was suspicious of needing what they suggested (nobody wants to hear their busted bike has problems they werent aware of. The fork in my case which had a crack I hadnt seen.) they were patient. Im glad a bad road didnt end up finishing off my bike and send me over the handle bars. I am clearly not wealthy, I think its fair to say. Didnt matter. Today I was in for some lights and once again enjoyed the staff and got great help. Thanks again.
They were ok but I didn’t care for the service. My sons bike had a flat they fixed it in about 15 min. A couple days later it was back flat. My sons back tire is stripped and worn down, he needed a whole new tire and they didn’t do that. When I called to get it fixed because I just paid, I was advised that if I didn’t have a receipt I would have to pay again. I could have shown them the charge on my bank statement but honestly I didn’t care to do business w them anymore. They should have known to change the whole back tire instead of the tube
Amazing place employees are awesome very nice And helpful the place is clean Overall great experience will go back and buy my next bike from them
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff!! Good selection even in the current bicycle situation. Highly recommend!!
PG is THE place to take your bike for service! Their techs are extremely knowledgeable and honest. I wont take my bikes anywhere else.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Large location. Great parking.
Love this place. Friendly staff and are able to get you in and out quickly.
Staff could not have been more helpful!! I came in with a slow leaking flat tire and wanted to get some hands on learning so Id gain some good bike knowledge. They were super patient with me and willing to walk me through the entire process. Also everything was super cheap! I dont live here but if I did I would definitely use Paradise Garage as my go to bike shop
My new favorite bike shop in the Columbus area.
Found my bike there, purchased online and easy curbside pickup. I am one happy, two-wheeling middle aged insurance claim waiting to happen. No annoying upsell either, just bike.
My experience with Paradise Garage is excellent. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
Find me curbside on the southwest side of somewhere else I guess. Cant enter the building through the front door. No other obvious way inside...
Took my bike here to have it assembled and the service was fast, everyone at the shop was very friendly!
I am so happy I purchased my bike from Paradise Garage. Whether in person, over the phone, or via text/email, customer service is consistently professional and friendly. Website allows to view real-time inventory, and to schedule service.
Set up and appointment and they told me it would take about an hour 2 hours later they haven’t even started yet. Once they got to my bike they couldn’t fix why they promised. Not happy with the experience. Not planning to return.
Consistent excellence in quality of products offered (bikes, clothing, accessories, and tools) and technical know how for repairs and adjustments. I have been a customer since the time of their opening. The staff is careful to listen and thoughtful in offering options. Great people!
Cheap stuffs not good. Good stuffs not cheap. They got good stuff.
Service was good, nice products, cool location
Super nice and informative without being intimidating or pushy. Exactly what I needed
Visiting from out of town and Paradise Garage was the only shop able to rent out bikes to participate in this years Pelotonia ride.Online reservation made it an ease and drop off was just as easy. The rental bike was working properly!
In this time of Covid-19 they have an outside intake process by which they accept your order for services/ products, they handle everything in the shop and then text you to advise you when your request is fulfilled. They wear masks, they are very friendly and happy help. Their process is easy and efficient. I came for a tire repair. I will think of Paradise Garage for future needs.
I have been to Paradise Garage twice in the last two weeks. Im not a cycling expert, so I really needed some help to repair some relatively minor issues. A gentleman named Adam helped me on my most recent visit. He was very knowledgeable and actually solved my problem. He took the time to explain what the issue was and how he was going to fix it. The pricing was very reasonable and the service was outstanding. Moving forward, PG is the only place that I will use for services to my bike.
I have had my bike for 40 years. I researched all the bike repair shops in metro Columbus ohio. I chose paradise garage. Though, i chose a basic tune up package, the professional staff kept me informed and found things i did not know broken. I took the upgrades and the staff went the extra mile to get my bike up and running. With this service excellence and care for me as a customer, recommending there services to anyone i know or asks me will receive this response: Paradise Garage in the short north, Columbus ohio is the place to go.
Bought some bike parts online - Paradise got them in the mail the same afternoon. Awesome turnaround time, would order from here again.
I’ve been riding for five years and have been to numerous bike shops but Paradise Garage is the best without a doubt.. their professionalism and attention to detail are incredible..
Great service! I bought Specialized road shoes from them and they installed the road pedals and the cleats at no extra charge! pretty fast too! Will definitely come back
AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Very friendly staff and they blessed me when I had little cash! Definitely recommend this business!
The staff deserves more stars as they have been pleasant. The bike I purchased though a Women’s Specialized Sirrus has been three stars. The bike has been taken back three times after minimal riding on the scioto mileFirst: every bolt is misthreaded so the bolts either broke off when removing to add water bottle holders or you can’t screw any new bolts in so they tried to repair the bolt issues although only one was repairableSecond: all the spokes on the back wheel were so loose they were grinding together and required them to again do further workThird: The break cable pulled out of the lever and required further work and after an employee and bike tech tried to convince me that’s what happens on some “entry level bikes” (this bike has hydraulic breaks and was 700.00 - not sure how entry it is) and that I must have pulled the cable out - it was agreed the cable was too short from the factory and was replaced though I was charged laborOverall cool bike shop and cool staff but maybe getting away with unloading bikes in such a good market without keeping the high standards they may be known for -
I ordered a part online and picked it up at their curbside pick up tent. Easy!!My only suggestion is to put the fact that the order is ready for pickup at the top of the status page. Processing Order is misleading. This is not worth deducting a whole star but I cant select 4.8!
I have texted them four times since May26th, and they are horrible at responding. I give up. I just wanted to get on waiting list or leave deposit on a specialized. My first text got a response asking if was still interested. I responded, yes and provided some specifics. No response. I then sent two more texts in June providing same info, no response. Given the cost of emtb bikes Id like to feel confident that If I need service, youll be there. I cant be alone in this and shocked that others have not left similar reviews.
Update I took a little spill on my bike today and asked if they could look at my bike and make sure that nothing was damaged. I purchase my bike there and service it there. I will be continuing to buy my bicycles there without question. in the middle of this pandemic Amy said she could get my bike in for a quick look. Thomas gave it a look over and made some small adjustments and said it was OK to ride. Thank you Amy and Thomas for helping out a long time customer. Now I feel safe to ride again tomorrow! This is my go to bicycle store without a question. I purchased my all city bicycle there and they took a good bit of time to help me find the right bike and size for my needs. They also have an excellent physical therapy assistant who comes in several times per week to do custom fittings add an additional charge. He is outstanding. I have some physical challenges and his fitting has kept me riding where I might otherwise not have been able to without considerable discomfort. The staff there is always friendly and very knowledgeable. They are usually pretty busy but I lucked out the other day and brought my bike in on a Sunday when they opened and they were able to do a tuneup. That has never happened before and I know its not a regular thing-but its just like them to find a way to help a customer. Thank you Mark and Adam! One thing I would highly recommend is buying their two dollar chain guide that prevents your chain from coming off. It is well, well!! worth the money to make sure that your chain stays where its supposed to be when youre peddling and doesnt overshoot or pop off when you are shifting or standing in the saddle.
The best people! Very active in the cycling community volunteering and offering rides and events. Friendly staff. No pressure sales. Top notch service.
I do not know anything about maintaining my bike, so I am glad to have Paradise Garage to tune and fix any problems that arise. They fixed my bike faster than they had predicted and it rides like it is brand new.
Nice bike shop - well stocked and well staffed. Shout out to Thomas for fixing the rear brake on our tandem in minutes after we rode in from Dayton. He even came outside to make some follow up adjustments!
THE ONLY LOCAL BIKE SHOP YOU NEED Im an avid cyclist (and occasional triathlete) that loves the products and services that PG has to offer. I havent bought a bike from PG (yet) but I have used their repair and maintenance services (for multiple bikes) many times over that several years. The mechanics are knowledgable and resourceful. I have watched this business grow over that past several years and love how they have evolved and serve the cycling community (from casual riders and die hard roadies). They offer free indoor trainer spin classes in the winter and coordinate all kinds of group rides in and around Columbus. I also love the very cool Pinch Flat annual bike poster contest. This shop is cutting edge with great service. I have no reason to go elsewhere for my cycling needs.
Paradise Garage is for me the only place to shop for bicycles. They have knowledgeable associates, who are patient, friendly, professional, courteous, and customer oriented. Ive bought two bicycles from them. They take a great amount on interest in learning your personal preference, offer suggestions, and try to meet your needs. When purchasing my first bike, I test-rode four styles before settling on the one that best met my comfort level as well as need for long-distance rides. I wont shop anywhere else in the Columbus area.
These guys are awesome! They helped me tune a bike that wasnt even bought there so i could ride that day. Will definitely be buying a bike very soon from here
Easy service, but I definitely echo earlier comments to discuss carefully what your tune-up includes to get your moneys worth.
Paradise Garage (921 N High St., Cols. OH) is the best bicycle shop that you will ever have the pleasure to experience. Their wide selection gives every budget great options, their product knowledge and advice is more than helpful and their service is just over the top fantastic. You can trust their word and their business ethics are gold. Before you buy any type of bike, you owe it to yourself to at least visit them. Paradise Garage took better care with us than most other businesses can only aspire to. Overall, it was a great experience!
I am new to bikes and went in to get a general idea of what I might be looking for. Anna spent a lot of time with me and taught me a lot about the types of bikes, what to look for on bikes, and sizing. Overall a great experience!
I have been a customer of Paradise Garage for the last 10 years. The customer service and repair work is second to none. Thanks to Adam and Mark for getting my bike ready for Pelotonia. If you need a bike, accessories or service this is the place to go!
They sell great bikes, the staff is very knowledgeable, the service department does excellent work. Cheap however, they are not.
I tried to remove my back wheel on my bicycle to replace the original hardware with a quick release. I thought it would not be a problem for me; however, I was sadly mistaken!!! I literally brought my bicycle into Paradise Garage in pieces. Mark was so helpful! He not only fixed my back wheel by installing a quick release, he also gave me a quick lesson on how to install the bicycle into the new exercise stand I purchased. The whole process took less than 30-minutes. I highly recommend this shop and I think pricing was very fair. Thanks for taking such great care of me! Debbie Wardlow
The staff are super helpful, very knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. I spent a lot of time in their shop getting a new bike and all necessary accessories, and I couldnt have felt more comfortable with my purchase. 10/10 would shop again.
Christian and staff at Paradise Garage built a bike for my new student at Ohio State overnight and helped him get all the gear he needed for getting around campus. It was an efficient and pleasant experience! I highly recommend it for any bicycle needs!!
What most people dont know is that Paradise Garage started out as a clothing store. Lots of young kids work here who only know new bikes. Limited parts selection is good if you have something new and generic.
Phenomenal service and staff. I came in to get my rear derailleur replaced an hour before closing on a Saturday. They had my derailleur in stock (as they do with most common parts), but were booked solid with repairs until Thursday and scheduled accordingly. After leaving my out-of-commission bike with them (presumably for the week), I then received a call after they closed saying they squeezed the repairs in, and my bike was ready for pickup when they opened the next day. Really great experience, highly recommended.
Great place to rent a bike. The bike was in good shape and Anna helped me figure out a route for my afternoon ride.
Knowledgeable and helpful staff provide an over-the-top customer service experience. Always a pleasure to walk through their door being greeted by eager employees. Looking forward to returning very soon. Bob Thayer.
They helped me with a trike, did great!
Very fast quick service.
Stopped in here to get a couple little things fixed on my sister’s bike and they were so friendly, fixed it up in like 5 minutes, only charged me $5, and helped me with some other questions I had about another bike. I will definitely go back. Thanks guys!
Paradise Garage is for the more discerning cyclist in Columbus. They generally have more niche products for people who know what they want. That being said, they cater to novices just fine, with plenty of lower end selection. I have now purchased 2 bikes in the last 5 years, and the service is always quick and friendly. They are enthusiasts just like you. They dont have the best selection of shoes.
Bought an SE Draft last winter and knew next to nothing about biking. I was in search of a simple, easy to maintain bike and PG was more than happy to help me with any questions I had plus some that I didnt know I needed. They sent me on my way with a few add-ons and a couple spare tubes. Aside from one of the tubes being the wrong size PG was and is a great shop and I try to stop in every time I make it back down to Columbus. I will admit that if you dont vibe them as interested they probably wont respond in a way that appears interested in you. Thats sales. If youre getting offered the most expensive bike in the shop you probably went in without ANY idea of what you wanted and theyre going to follow a standard sales technique of starting you at the top then taking you to the bottom and figuring out where you really sit from there. Its basic customer education. The 1 star reviews are very misinformed on the process of sales and from someone whos worked face to face, phone, and Internet sales as well as customer service and support roles in companies PG really does a good job at everything they do.If youre interested in doing your own work theyll answer questions, if you just want to ride theyll do the work for you. This is the new era of shop, education and service all in one stop
Paradise Garage is my goto for bike service, its far from where I live but its worth it! The staff is friendly and fast! I brought in my cheap old huffy and they did a great, fast job making in run well again!
This almost became a 1 star and very bad review. I took my older Panasonic bike in for a much needed tuneup which I didnt consider cheap. The first worker, (mentioned as Jaime) Merely changed the tires and left my bike riding as Id brought it in, squeaking, and bad braking and the handlebars crooked. I brought it back in simply to get the handlebars straightened realizing that most of my money had simply bought me new tires. Steven Debusk, who I talked to the second time was straightening my handlebars and asked what Id brought the bike in for, and I answered the level 2 tuneup, and I pointed out that my cables werent changed as Id been told they would be. He then went above and beyond and pointed out areas on my bike that they neglected and he realized they should have replaced and tuned. He also ensured I got a partial refund and that the bike was fixed up quite nicely. Id recommend giving your bike a thorough once over before leaving the store if you get a tune up or repairs. Also, get Steve if you can because hes good. A few others there werent very friendly.
I’ve only ever had work done on my bike once and it was here. Someone tried to steal my bike and did quite a bit of damage. I expected the cost of repair to be very high but this place was so affordable! I was shocked by how little I had to pay. And my bike came back in great shape :)
Amazing sales and service. Definitely the first place you should shop.
Always friendly and knowledgeable staff .Easy to support local businesses like this one! Tyler and Thomas in service know their stuff, hit em up !
These guys were very friendly and probably the most helpful bike shop Ive been to. The mechanics and floor staff were both very personable and super knowledgable. I cried a little about the price of a repair but after sitting down and looking at my receipt I realized they did a lot of extra work that shops usually charge extra for. This is the shop Im going to whenever Im in Columbus.
Saved my butt. I went out underprepared, no patch kit, no extra tube, no pump, and tore my valve stem on someone elses pedal after unlocking my bike. Paradise was 5 minutes from closing, everyone else had closed an hour ago, and I was a mile away, but I called anyway and they agreed to hang out and wait until I got there. I booked it down to the garage with my wheel and they sold me a tube and let me put it on and pump it up after-hours with a smile. That was one long walk home I didnt have to make that night. Great shop.
I improperly installed a crank set from a single speed kit, resulting in the left side arm being slowly destroyed. I called ALL the shops in Columbus, no one had a used crank arm in 165mm. One had a new Sugino Messenger arm, but at quite a steep price. Paradise Garage keeps Origin-8 crank arms in stock in all sizes just for things like this. I was able to properly install the new arm that weekend. Its been three weeks now, and my bike is still going strong.
I was in town and riding a cheap borrowed bicycle to get around. I got a flat in the evening, potentially crimping my plans. Paradise gave me the rock star treatment despite my modest wheels even though it was near their closing time - and other bike shops were closed. Great selection of bikes and gear as well.
Change my flat tire just after their closing hour. Very nice and friendly staff, great prices. Definitely worth a visit
Great people, prices, and service. Ive had two very good experiences with them. I wouldnt go anywhere else
Service at this place is awesome. Bunch of guys who love bikes, love what theyre doing. Had a month where I was getting flats every other week. Fixed me up in 10 minutes and put half of um on the house.
I bought two road bikes from PG in 2012. For the most part (99% of the time) I have had great service from PG employees. Once, I wrote a positive review. With that, one month ago an employee mounted a front brake setup to my bike. That employee did not tighten the mount as much as the employee should have and as a result I returned within a week and had another employee tighten the mount. Today, 5-28-2017 I witnessed the most unprofessional employee to date as it relates to PG. Yesterday, I went to PG and was told to come back today and get something looked at on my road bike. Today, a different employee did not want to look at the item (bottom bracket) and gave me an attitude as well. I asked the employee to grease or oil the bracket. Eventually, the employee did perform the greasing or oiling process. However, after completing the job the employee left oil or some type of grease on my back wheel, the employee left grease or oil on my bike seat shaft, the employee messed up my tape job I had on the shaft to put my back light fixture, the employee forgot to put my plastic rain fender on my bike, and finally, the employee gave me an attitude when he presented me with the bike. With verbal prodding that employee did put my fender on. I left the store. Two blocks later I got off my bike and cleaned up the oil or greasy mess the employee had left on my bike. Ray
Nicest people. Why would you give your money to another shop? even if you can find a better deal.
Credit where credit is due - my wife and I purchased bikes from PG a few years ago and we just made a ton of upgrades to our bikes. There were a few problems along the way, I tried to talk to the associate there and hit more roadblocks. Eventually a manager stepped in and made everything right! Thanks PG!
Amazing staff, I was having a bad day at the time and they provided amazing service and were extremely nice and knowledgeable.
Customer service is great here. They all seem to really know what theyre doing.
After flying 30 hours from Singapore to Columbus for Pelotonia, our bikes and luggage remain in JFK. No bike = no good. The team at Paradise Garage jumped to our help. They took two new bikes out of their inventory, so we could participate in the ride. While Im absolutely certain the team at Paradise Garage are great retailers...Im even more certain these guys are incredible human beings. What an amazing experience. Great people doing great things.Forever appreciative...and you have inspired me to do more for others.
They always do a great job with repairs and are honest, friendly, and professional!
Great staff, very helpful! Reasonably priced! A+
My favorite Columbus Bike shop. Great service, great bikes, and great people. And the fact that they are somewhat local to me (less than a 10 minute drive) makes it all the better.
Overall great work, but some ambiguity on charges. Clarify price prior to dropping off the bike, you might be surprised at pickup.
My road bicycle was serviced and repaired at PG. Tyler, the lead bike mechanic, is great with customers and bicycles. I highly recommend PG as your first choice in bicycle repairs and service.
Purchased a bike here in April of 2015. They did not do even a basic fitting upon purchase. Since then, the mechanics here have failed to properly adjust the brakes, front derailleur, and rear hub. Too bad they are the only Cannondale dealer inside of 270. There are better shops in town.Update 9/16/15: As noted above, I had problems with the bike and the shop. In the end, PG made it right with excellent customer service.
It seems like most of these 5 star reviews are coming from men and hopefully thats not the reason that I got such meh service.PG was the one and only bike shop that I called (based on word of mouth, best prices and reviews) and although the man on the phone gave me the answers I was looking for, his tone was short and sounded as though I was an inconvenience.I rode my bike down there and clumsily got it through the door. 3 people were working and none of them picked their head up or even glanced towards the door. One of them was on phone and when he finally caught my eye after about 2 minutes he quickly looked away and still no word from anybody.Even a quick hand over the phone hello or head nod would have been sufficient. All the best.
Highly recommend this place. They take great care of their customers!
Ive been cycling for over ten years and without hesitation can say that this is by far the best bike shop that Ive frequented. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and this goes double for their service department. Despite never having bought a bike from this shop, theyve helped me with every mechanical problem or question that Ive had, and at a cost far below that of competing shops in the area.Indeed, Ive even had a few really difficult problems (like stripping out my break mounting bolt) that theyve been able to fix. I was even able to have an hour-long consult with a mechanic on a slow day who advised me on changing my drive-train from 3x9 to 2x10, a process that I would have almost certainly bungled without help.In addition to their great service department, they have a great selection of tools, clothes, helmets, and most of all bikes, including Surly & Salsa! Perhaps the thing that I appreciate more than anything is the attitude and atmosphere of this place, which seems to cater mostly to the bicycle commuter and utility cycling crowd. So many of the shops that Ive delt with feel gentrified and seem more concerned with selling expensive over-engineered carbon-fiber & titanium bikes, and less concerned with helping the customer find a bike that suits their needs. I could go on, but instead will sum up my effusive praise the best I know how: by saying that this place is a class-act operation, all the way. Five stars!
Very polite staff they Clearlyhave a passion for cycling which makes Q&A excellentAnd they are always able to squeeze people in if its a quick fix. Great Job Guys.Best Shop in Cbus! PeRiOuD!:-)
Great group. Highly recommend for any bike repairs.
Swift repair. Great service !
Best bicycle shop in the city.
Best shop in town. So many chill bruhs & bruh-ettes.
Very helpful staff. I might end up buying my bike from here.
As someone new to cycling theyve always provided me with great advise and products.
Theyve been extremely helpful and knowledgable in my quest to purchase a proper mountain bike for singletrack riding in Ohio. thanks guys!
Great customer service and nice selection of bikes. What more could you want.
Best shop in Columbus!!!
Excellent service staff. Honest and hard working.
I dont know if the employees at PG work on commission or what, but they will try and sell you the most expensive product they have, regardless of what the product is. Im a college student and I asked about a bike, and I got shown bikes all 800 dollars and up; I said Im on a budget, and the guy very reluctantly showed me cheaper bikes. And he went on and on about why those bikes were essentially pieces of garbage. He was saying how i was wasting my money spending anything less than 800-1000 dollars, and how I should really double my budget at least. Heres an example of their BS: I wanted a 300 dollar bike they had with straight handlebars, and I asked how easy it would be to later on install a drop-down handlebar instead (I was a beginner at the time, and I didnt know it was an easy process). The guys said it would be nearly impossible on this bike frame (a State bike), and no one can do it, but if im interested in a drop down handlebar bike, heres a great one for only 850 dollars.I tried on another date to buy lights for my bike and was shown the 90 dollar USB-rechargable lights. No thank you, the 20 dollar battery lights will do. instead of just saying okay and charging me, he went on and on about how those lights are dim, awful, and will stop working in a month. And then when I wanted a water bottle, you guessed it, the 15 dollar wattle bottle is a piece of trash. I understand that obviously the more money you spend the better the quality of any product is, but damn they do not like to sell reasonably priced products. And multiple employees did this, so I think its like a store policy. If youre an OSU student who wants a good bike in a 200-400 dollar range, go to Revolution Cycles, just a few blocks away. If you say youre on a budget, they really work with you and try and figure out how to help. If youre a bike enthusiast who wants a top product, go to Rev Cycles, they have some crazy cool bikes, and with much friendlier service. Oh, and on that earlier comment about the handlebars: got the EXACT SAME State bike from Rev Cycles, went in there a few weeks later and bought a drop down handlebar. They changed it for me in literally five minutes and charged me a 20 dollar fee for doing it.I dont work with Rev cycles nor do I have anything to do with them other than being a satisfied customer. PG is a waste of your time.
