We had a GREAT experience at Orbit City Bikes. We were just getting into the market for two e-bikes when we decided to stop by Orbit City Bikes. Tom, the owner of the shop, was very helpful. He took us through the basics and let us test ride some bikes. And boy, was he knowledgeable about e-bikes! We’re still in the ‘decision’ phase on which models to buy — but I can highly recommend this bike shop. Great, helpful service and a good selection of bikes in stock.

A great mom and pop bike shop with a variety of e bikes from basic entry level cruisers to higher end serious bikes. They listened to exactly what I was looking for and helped me chose wisely for my needs. I got a nice long test ride and online ratings for the bike I chose are exactly what they were telling me. He was very generous in letting both my wife and I test drive several different bicycles; he even suggested I take one in a local neighborhood across the street, which I did, riding it approximately 1 mile. I just got back from my first solo ride in our neighborhood....I went early so as to not combine my apprenticeship riding with too many cars. It was GLORIOUS! I am getting used to the controls very quickly and I am not troubled by the trike turning radius. I just wish I was a little taller than 4’11” and could sit higher——but wow I love it. I can stand while perched on the seat too, which also adds to my confidence. Tom was so patient in letting me learn, and helpful when we went to pick it up and successfully get it in our SUV.

What an awesome experience! Called Orbit City Bikes last week. The phone was answered by a very knowledgeable sales person “Tom”. I was looking for a specific model of Gazelle e-bike. Was informed that Orbit City had exactly what I was looking for. A few days later my wife and I made the 100 mile drive to Orbit City in Columbus Ohio. We were pleasantly surprised as we were met by “Tom” the sales person I had talked to before. Found out he was also the owner of Orbit City. What a wonderful experience. Very knowledgeable, answered all of our questions made sure of the frame sizes that were correct for us. Oliver was super helpful. He explained the features of two bikes that met my needs. In no time, I was pedaling around the neighborhood on a test “drive.”

We were very impressed by the variety of inventory but mostly by the knowledgeable owner. He answered all our questions. There was no high pressure sales pitch. What is more he observed that my knee problem prevents my safely riding ANY bike. Once the knee is improved we will return to purchase!

Tom was comforting in words and able to assist my wife to feel comfortable enough to do a test ride on a bike. If your looking for a knowledgable person about electric bikes this is your place to shop. Great experience.

This place is great! They had a large selection of different ebikes to look at and test ride. They were very helpful supplying a lot of knowledge. I feel they gave honest information in which brands are better and which ones have had problems. I found one that I really like, but have just started searching and need to check out some other brands so I can make my best decision. In my opinion the Gazelles they have are the best. Check this place out!

Had a flat tire on ride and went in to see if they stocked my inner tube...they didnt...but they gave me a loaner electric bike to ride to a nearby bikeshop that had the tubes I needed. The owner was kind and considerate in helping me the way he did.

I called here because regular bicycle shops tend not to want to work on anything electric. I needed very basic help with very basic things including a kickstand and adjusting a set of regular clamping breaks. After this shop determined exactly what I spent on my bike by looking it up with make/ model, they told me they wouldnt have any time to work on it because I apparently did not spend enough on my bike to satisfy them, and let me know that I would have to leave my bike with them for three weeks to have anyone work on it.Id rather do the work myself then put any of my money into the pockets of somebody that acts that way to a customer.

A good man runs it under hard times. A small businessman ne ed ds your support.

Excellent ebike selection, great service

Had my bike shipped to Columbus and in the process my front hydraulic brake got damaged to the point of needing replaced. I got it on a Friday and had a 66-mile charity ride the next day so I was in quite a bind. Being a week before Pelotonia I knew that no local bike shop would be able to turn this around in a day, so a buddy said I should try this place. What a mistake.I had already fully assembled my bike...the only problem was that the front brake pistons were locked up and the line needed replaced. Any LBS could knock this out in an hour (or less) this place took from 10am-5pm, based on the fact that they charged me $150 for labor and another $100 for parts. Yep, $250 for a brake line replace. Here is the worst of it: They called to ask if I wanted to wrap the bars myself since they “weren’t great at it.” Really? Is that why it took a whole day? Not only that but they didn’t even try to match my high-end Sham cork tape or Shimano hydraulic line; instead they used some cheap 1950s slick tape and basic hydraulic line. And then the guy (I assume the owner) had the nerve to say “just so you know, we had to go all over town to get these parts, but we’re not going to charge you for that.” Thanks buddy. I guess you felt you scammed me enough already? Aren’t you a bike shop? Do electric bikes not have brakes or handlebars? Total amateur hour. I shouldn’t be paying for your people to learn how to wrap bars on my dime.So they close at 5:00 and finish around 4:50. They have me by the balls. I either pay and get the bike or refuse to pay and miss the ride. So I paid. I was lucky to find someone that could fix it (sort of) that day but if they had told me $250 up front I would have balked. At no point did they call to mention cost, or that they didn’t have parts, etc.Luckily the reputable Baer Wheels down the street was open to 8:00 and willing to stay late to fix the hack job Orbit had done. When I told them what happened they said “dude, should have brought it here, could have knocked it out it 30 minutes for $75.” Lesson learned.UPDATE: The “repair” failed one week later during a hilly 100-mile charity ride. The front brake went completely out. Luckily my back brake held out otherwise I might not be writing this. Do NOT bring anything here for repairs or servicing. They have no idea what they are doing.

All excited, I was ready to buy a motor for my Specialized bicycle. So, after much research and other bicycle shops recommendations, I discovered a bicycle shop who specialized in electric bikes and motors.Over the weekend, I made it early into the clean and well-manicured shop, and I was instantly surrounded by a sea of electric bikes (costing as much as some cars, I remember thinking) and a few trailers.I was instantly greeted by a gentleman, the companys representative. He asked me how he could help me, so told him what I had in mind and he quickly gave me only two motor options. He then took me over to the window where the Electron Wheel (a product that I had not become familiarized with at this point) was being advertised, like the main course of the shop. Considering that I was on limited funds and I only have enough money for only one of those two options, I decided on the Electron Wheel, but only after some research online and his swindling but convincing words.The gentleman gave me the basic rundown on the Electron Wheel; he said that this electric wheel has three assists levels. The lower level will take me around fifty miles, while the third (highest) level will take me approximately twenty-five miles because of its higher power usage, of course. Also, he said that charging the battery completly the first time is critical (which I did), and that a fully charged battery should last me approximately twenty miles. He said that the wheel will make my bike ride approximately twenty miles per hour. He did state, that the wheel will make my bike heavier...and it did.Well, after owning the Electron Wheel it for forteen days, and after understanding the easy app, the wheel only lasted for just under ten miles before the battery in the wheel died, and the wheel only rode around ten miles per hour. And let me tell you, that pedaling the bicycle home with this heavy Electron Wheel is certainly no easy task. In fact, if you are not expect it to suddenly die whilst you are coasting or pedaling through traffic, it could be you who dies next.On Thursday I called the shop and told them the issues with my Electron Wheel and that I can bring it into their shop on Saturday (because of my work schedule and their available work hours). The gentleman on the phone was polite and seemed cordial. He told me that when I bring in the bike on Saturday, that they will make it right by either switching my Electron Wheel for the last one they had or they will refund me my money. He said that this was not typical with the Electron Wheel.Saturday finally arrived, and I brought in my bike. The guy who approached me in the shop asked me the issue and so I kindly told him. The other shop employee came up and also got involved in our conversation. He said that they did not specifically say that the bike will last twenty miles on level three. Basically, he was calling me a lier, because I said that the bike went around ten miles per hour and that the Electron Wheel died after I rode just under ten miles .By theur lack of enthusiasm and little speech, I could tell that they had no interest in helping me. After they verbally decining to really help me, I said that the employee who spoke with me over the phone told me that you all will make it right with me by either replacing my Electron Wheel with the last one there, or refunding me my money. Also, they brought to my attention, that they will not be selling any more Electron Wheels there.They shrugged my problem off like it was nothing. They said that they have been trying to call about the warranty, but warranty would not answer. My warranty was good for fifteen days, and I was on the Fourteenth day. I have a suspicious that they were trying to postpone it until my warranty expired.Well, here I am $650 short and with an Electron Wheel thats reputation seems a lie.This bicycle shop is filled with snake oil salesman, who lie just to make a sale. And by their careful maneuvering through the warrantly, I would say that they have done this many times over.

They have a decent selection of bikes from numerous manufacturers at various price points. If you are interested in electric bikes you should swing by.
