I ordered A LOT of materials for my new Montessori-based learning center. The materials arrived in a timely manor and most of them were in great shape and are great quality. I read previous reviews about their customer service but decided to give them a shot because of the great deals they were offering. Almost everything was complete, however, one material is missing (tags for 1000 chain) and two materials were incomplete (grammar symbols and #84 missing from the 100 Board). I have been calling and sending emails to their service department for three weeks and have received no response as of today. Buyer beware! The products are great, but the customer service is non-existent.
I placed a large order of materials, and the quality was good. However, there was a missing item. I have been calling and emailing for months, with no reply. They have not refunded me, nor sent me the missing item, and at this point I have to give up. I will not order from this company in the future.
The service and quality of materials are fantastic! I bought many materials for my children, and they have loved all the items! The best part is that I got my materials very fast! Impeccable service!
Not sure why so many people have had issues with customer service. I made a call just to check on my order. I left a voicemail and was contacted in 15 minuets. The representative was knowledgeable and polite. I ordered a decent size order of 14 items. I placed my order on December 3rd and it arrived December 7th. I went through all my items and everything was fantastic. The quality is amazing for any price but the fact that they have such amazing discounts made it even better. So very pleased and would highly recommend Adena Montessori. Will definitely be purchasing from them again!!
I ordered equipment from Adena in February and when i assembled it, there was a flaw in the way it was made. No big deal, it happens, just send me a replacement piece and ill take care of it.Not that easy....i called and left a message.....nothing. I sent an email and they responded by offering me a $10 credit (needless to say thats a drop in the bucket). i just want a replacement piece, or a full replacement.i dont have much hope that ill get anything back since now im getting no response from them at all.
Awful customer service! I was sent a bead cabinet with no hardware and a damaged back frame, its been 4 weeks and they still havent sent me the pieces to replace it. Maybe me writing on here will get a better response??
TERRIBLE customer service!!!!! They dont return phone calls, or better yet they dont even answer their phone. Response time to emails is unacceptable. They have not taken ownership in their faulty products, refunded or returned damaged items. DO NOT use this company!! I wish someone would have told me to not use them
I have been very disappointed with this company. I opened an in home Montessori-based childcare business. I put in a very large purchase including repurchasing many of the map puzzles back in November. Within a week of my preschoolers beginning to use the Europe map it has begun to shred, see pics. The Europe control map DID NOT MATCH THE PUZZLE! see pics. Also the puzzles are about 1/4 too big to fit properly in my original cabinet. Which was irritating and I wish I had realized that prior to purchase. I do show a comparison of Finland from Montessori Outlet vs. Adena. Even being thicker material, Alaska was the first to break.There are certain elements I really like, such as the paler pink color of the pink tower, (Montessori Outlet compared is almost hot pink) and the thicker construction of the puzzle pieces. But the beech wood again in the sensory materials, shreds because it has such sharp corners, one good nick and you have it splintering. I purchased through Montessori Outlet prior, and theirs is a lighter softer wood. I am doing investigating to find a better company that builds the puzzles out of sturdier material, and you can find a lot of great resources online that sells durable Montessori materials. Pink tower doesnt have to be pink, Im planning to switch to natural wood for my classroom, as I can. The point is to isolate the concept of each material that you want the child to learn. I give 2 stars because there were some materials that were nice, the life cycle puzzles have been a huge hit with the children, and box 1 of the color tablets are nice, and all the nomenclature cards I purchased were fine and a nice price. Their discounts are nice, but Im on round 3 of needing puzzles, you get what you pay for. As long as you contact within 30 days they did send out items that arrived damaged or wrong, without my having to pay shipping.
Very fast delivery and the quality of the materials was really good worth paying them.

Theyve found a great balance between quality and price of Montessori educational materials. The customer support is about what youd expect from a small business, they try to get back to you as quickly as they can, but they do seem to get inundated at times. They pack their items very efficiently (130 items in just 14 large boxes for the largest kit - two items are still pending), and with a few small packing adjustments theyll be able to prevent any cosmetic damage from occurring.In my experience from ordering the Deluxe Kit (Kit-4) two items are still pending from my inventory of the deluxe package, but only three small items had minor cosmetic damage. In addition, I had to do minor repairs to a guide rail on the geography cabinet, and one knob on a knobbed cylinder, and one knob on a botany/geometry item. Will update this post once the order is fully filled and the three items with cosmetic damage are replaced. With a little bit of adjustment to their workflow and packing technique, they will be able to ship even the largest orders without any damage and without missing a single item.
