I ❤ Yao Lee. A relaxing, curated place to shop - never jam packed with people. They just carry all the best brands of essential items at the best prices. Good quality sauces/oils/cooking wines - seems like they dont bother stocking ones with crazy additives - only the good stuff at Yao Lee:). Nice selection of necessity cooking tools/utensils, like steamers, rolling pins, woks, etc., as well. Back section with meat, frozen foods, and produce is a hidden gem.
Nice shop with lots of Asian selections not available in the big stores with great prices. The employees are very nice and helpful! On occasion they also offer homemade goods like bubble tea too! I was happy to find (at least) 2 things I was looking for that I can never find elsewhere, natural spicy mustard powder and natural mushroom (soy) sauce. Highly recommend if you are in the need for cooking up some delicious Asian cuisine! Fun fact, they had flavors of potato chips Id only seen in Asia available too!
Awesome store that needs more business to upgrade the over all look. The people are very nice and helpful making my every visit very enjoyable. I am and will always be a return customer here!
The owners are quite nice and they have a nice variety of things to look at and purchase.
Nice Asian grocery store. Plenty to pick from, friendly staff and very reasonable prices.
Love the owners. They are super helpful. Great premade meals made daily. Awesome selection
I love this place! The owners are the sweetest and its such a nice shop!
A wide variety of Asian ingredients including fresh and dried noodles, jarred sauces, seasonings, and fresh meats and produce is offered by friendly salespeople willing to help customers find what they need, and make suggestions. A new hot foods offering at front of store is a great addition, and offers shoppers a chance to try interesting snacks at an affordable price. Highly recommended.
I drive an hour away just to go to their store. They are the sweetest people that run the store! They take the time to help you, explain what different foods are used for, and tell you ideas on how to use or make things. I love this place!
I have been a regular customer for years now and I highly recommend Yao Lee Supermarket not only for Asian groceries- vegetables, drinks, sweets, and condiments, but also for anyone who wants reasonably priced and fresh vegetables in the Old North. The market carries traditional Asian vegetables like Bokchoy and Napa cabbage, and a variety of tofu for half the price of the nearby groceries like Giant Eagle and Luckys. You can also find a range of noodles, flour, tea, frozen foods like green onion pancakes and dumplings, and even beautiful crockery at wonderful prices. The folks at the counter are polite and helpful. This is a hidden gem in the Old North that everyone must visit.
This market has everything and really reasonable prices on veggies. I love their Fuji apples, TOFU and coconut milk. Super friendly owner who is also an amazing cook.
Such a wonderful authentic grocery store. Pleasantly surprised by the selection and variety of products. They even have a made to order market in the back of the store. Locally owned and super friendly. Ill be back.
Most friendly people you will ever meet! Great prices, great food. Huge selection of different authentic types of oriental foods. I will be returning to the store at least once a month and Ill be bringing my huge family with me.
Yao Lee is a pretty good Asian supermarket that serves a diverse customer base. They have a great selection of Chinese & Thai foodstuffs, a smaller variety of essential Korean & Japanese foodstuffs, as well as a small but very nice array of Asian kitchenware. I didn’t notice much produce but I wasn’t really looking for it. I came to pick up some Thai curry pastes, but was pleased to find a wide array of novelty flavors of Lays potato chips, ramens packs and kewpie mayo. The gentleman working the checkout (who I think might’ve been the owner) was very friendly to me and every customer in line.
This supermarket is so friendly to new shoppers!! The owners are so sweet and informative when you have questions, and they have really good prices!
Clean, and a wonderful variety of Asian and ethnic foods. I stocked up on their really good deal on 1 meal canned sardines, which are an omega-3 health food.
I was so happy to find lots of vegetarian and gluten free options for recipes. So many different kinds of tofu! Tons of fresh produce not available at the Giant Eagle or Lucky’s on the same block. Staff were super kind. Will be going back soon. :)
Store is full of almost everything you could want. Staff is extremely friendly and happy to help, as well as full of information. Great little grocery store.
Great little grocery store with a wonderful selection of pan-Asian foods. The owners are very kind and helpful.
Great little neighborhood market for Asian foods. Friendly and welcoming.
I love his pls
Yao Lee may be a mom and pop shop, but the selection here says otherwise - this place is loaded with much more than just the essentials! The folks who works here are kind and helpful. Having this shop in my neighborhood is a blessing. ♡ Dont neglect the refrigerated and frozen food section - theres a selection of frozen meats, including lamb at a good price.
Always easy to find that unusual ingredient for Asian cooking.
I love being able to get all my favorite childhood snacks. They have one of the best varieties and most reasonable prices.
I love this place! Always nice people with high quality fresh merchandise in a clean store. The most reasonable price for House Foods tofu I have found.
Great food and snacks only dislike is that some can be very expensive
Good local Asian market.
Selling outdated instant noodles.
Great spot for specialty Asian goods in Clintonville with friendly service to boot!
I love shopping here. The store is not very big, but filled with goodies as expected from an Asian neighborhood store. They have a variety of rice noodles for stir fry & for soupy dishes. They usual sell fresh lemon grass stalks, for planting or for cooking. Just check them out at the cool storage section.
Been in the neighborhood for at least 10 years. Long time customers equals good and steady business. Surprising finds. Mostly, Chinese and Thai items, but owner is from Taiwan. In recent months New Management has improved the organization and aesthetics of the place. Items found here include fresh vegetables and noodles, Frozen fish and meat, canned goods, cooking equipment, Asian coffee and tea, sweet treats and specialty items. Good turn over. Customer service is good. The best part, reasonable prices. Similar items at bigger grocers are at least 20% more.
A huge selection of instant noodles 😀 almost half of the store is dedicated to them. Owner was nice too🖒
Under new ownership, and while I liked the store before, I love it now! Its still a family-owned business and the new husband-wife team is more than happy to walk you through their products and even offer recipe suggestions. For someone like me who likes to cook with 4 ingredients or less, Ive been able to incorporate more healthy Asian dishes for the family. It has all the well-known items and great prices on fresh baby bok choy, gai lan and other veggies.
Great little place! Very friendly staff. A good amount of snacks, frozen foods and always low prices.
Nice selection of tea at a great price! Friendly workers, I had help loading groceries into my car. They sell mostly Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean, Japanese, & Thai grocery products. It reminded me of small business grocery stores in China-town back in Chicago. Small parking lot but very clean store! The prices were more affordable than Korean market up north, but you’re greeted politely with a thank you!
Nice people
I was buying ingredients for dinner and it was a quick trip that intended for only a few items. So instead of grabbing a basket, I kept the groceries in my arms forming a organized stack. The owner of the store first came up to me and said “You HAVE to pay for these stuff if you drop them on the ground”, to which I answered “of course, absolutely” and continued shopping. After I have gather all the ingredients needed and stood in front of the checkout, I realized I have grabbed sliced pork instead of lamb. I asked the cashier who is also the co-owner of the market would it be ok if I go switch it out, she replied no problem she will just wait for me. When I returned and about to pay for all my groceries, the owner came up to me again, this time he approached me much more aggressively while staring me down. He then said: “DO NOT repeatedly touch our groceries, nobody are going to buy anything after your touch it!”At that moment I was lost for word and couldn’t come up with anything. While I was dumbfounded by his word, the cashier, who was also surprised by his behavior, apologized to me right away. I couldn’t hold my tear down but I still stood for myself and argued that I bring hand sanitizer to wherever I go and have the awareness for preventative measures, although the pandemic is worrisome to all, his behavior was no way to treat a customer and it’s truly hurtful to hear those words. He didn’t make any combat but didn’t apologize either, just sort of walked away. I don’t think I’ll be visiting that store again.
I love this little market. The selection is not as large as other international markets and they dont have as much fresh produce but the people working are extremely nice and helpful. The cashier lady told me she used to teach Chinese cooking classes. She has been very helpful the few times Ive asked about certain ingredients. I probably wouldnt go out of my way to go here but its conveniently located for me to quickly run in when I need a hard to find ingredients and Luckys or Giant Eagle doesnt have it.
Its a small Market but theres still a decent selection. Mostly Chinese items obviously. Prices are pretty fair
Hidden Gem in plain sight! Best prices on ginger & Asian veggies. They have all you curry & sauce needs too. Such a good grocery store.
Super friendly staff with everything youd want at an Asian market!
Excellent selection at low prices. Friendly staff. I enjoy every visit.
Very Very Friendly store, the owner and the clerks talk to you like old friends even you are the first time visiting. They would special order the product you need if you can not find there. Many Taiwanese favorite snacks are carried. Small store, family owned and great price too.
This store has everything. Large selection of shelf stable items. Staff is very friendly and appreciates your business. See you there!
I really like this store. They have a good selection and great prices. They take cash and card. If you are vegan this place is a must, bulk tofu for 49 cents per block and they have many forms of vegan jerky.
Great shop with tons of options and a friendly staff! They have great prices on almost anything! I found an oolong tea that I like there for only 89 cents a box!!They have a lot of variety with something for everyone. They accept both cash and credit. They also have gluten-free rice noodles for my celiacs compatriots.
I love it. Owners are so nice and I can find literally everything I need every time
We frequently visit this store. It has a good selection of foods and good prices. The current and previous owners are very nice.
Still here on N High street after all these years, but expanded so much larger store now, we used to rent foreign films on DVD from here before Netflix came along! Good to see them still in business.
As an Asian American, this store reminds me of home. I love coming here and the owners are extremely nice and helpful. I would recommend anyone who eats asian food to get their ingredients from here!
Helpful staff! If you cant find what youre looking for, staff is happy to assist with locating stuff for you. This can be a problem in the bigger specialty stores, but isnt here.
This is awesome little Mom and Pop market. It is perfectly delightful!!
We have a few staples that we always get from here. The selection is not huge, but it has all the basics. Not too expensive. The people working have always been nice if we needed help.
The outside doesnt look very appealing but they do have a nice variety of foods. Its bigger inside than it looks outside. Prices are good
Very friendly and helpful staff! I had company visiting from China and they helped them find exactly what they needed - and they gave her young son a free treat.
Friendly staff, great collection of various foods and sauces. Veggies are fresh looking. Very cute store overall
I can almost always find what Im needing here and they are always a pleasure
Great find in Columbus!
Great prices and great selection, Ive been a happy customer for years
I love shopping Yeoss product here, they are pretty cheap too!
Best Chinese/East Asian grocery in town. They have EVERYTHING, and the staff is super nice, helpful, and knowledgeable!
Vought a prepared duck. Excellent. Good place for A few items.
This place is small and kind of a whole in the wall but its reasonably priced and everyone is really nice
I really Like to come here.I can find the items I need here and get a good service.
Bought all sorts of sauces and pastes for a decent price... They have a good set of fresh ingredients too!
The people are nice, but it always seems like I have an issue when I go in. credit card machine, scanner, something
I get mackerel cans and tien tsin dried peppers mostly, and sauces and spices that just arent available at their neighbors. Some times are way better to go than others. Learn their truck days for sure. Its just the nature of the business. Theyre really nice and I enjoy their layout and location. I like that it allows me to be more adventurous at home cooking and they will tell you what you need to know if you ask.
A good amount of selection, but not as much as other local places. However, this place was incredibly cheap! Warning: check expiration dates.
Very friendly and helpful. Well stocked and very convenient.
Owner and employees are friendly and helpful!! Not a big selection of products due to the size of the store, but it is good enough to get basic stuff you will need for making Chinese dishes home.
Pretty well stock despite it small location. If you want to use your credit card/debit card to pay, there is a minimum spending of USD 5. But you can still pay anything less than 5 with cash
The staffs there are super nice and polite!
Wonderful location, lots of variety, good people working there.
I love this place!! So many options and in bulk usually too!
Sell some hard to get products and some hard-to-find sizes
Excellent local staple. Sparse, but cheap produce
10/10, great service and store!!
Not the largest store in this area, but has good variety of Asian groceries
Great place, friendly people. I will be back for sure
Good place to buy Taiwans product!

Great place to find sushi ingredients.
Family owned, great prices.
Good selection, very kind people
Very helpful and friendly, has a great selection of dumplings
Expensive, they over charge eveything. I used go to the Crestview, but dont have choice after they are closed.
Cheap prices and the owners are friendly. They gave us free crackers and drinks for happy new year
