Had issues with a vibration on my brand new Whirlpool refrigerator. Tried getting though to Whirlpool several times before I was told by the phone rep that they could not find a service technician close to Logan OH. Took almost two weeks before I received a call from Capital City Appliance. They scheduled me for the upcoming Friday. The technician Randy was on time, prepared, and fixed the problem. I was very happy with their service and professionalism.

Randy, the repairman has come out twice due to my ice maker not working. Randy did not have the good sense to check and see if the dispenser wasn’t working properly the first and second visit. My 19 year old daughter had to prompt him to check the dispenser. Randy spent a whole 20 seconds diagnosing to tell me the motor isn’t working. I feel had that this company has taken over $130 dollars for this type of service. I complained to management and the complaint had also fallen on deaf ears. If you don’t want to be frustrated with poor customer service and workers with mediocre skills. Please don’t hire this company for anything! You will be disappointed 😢

Moved into a brand new home, my fridge isnt working properly. Whirlpool sends these clowns to service my appliance. The tech tells me he cant fix it because the line is frozen and I need to thaw it out for a few hours. As soon as he leaves, the fridge makes one tray of ice then not again. I thaw out the fridge, at great expense as I have a family of 5 and we dont own more than 1 cooler. I thawed the fridge, and called back for service again because that didnt work. Whirlpool scheduled the appointment for the next Monday. I got a text from capital city that they only make service calls on Tuesday and Thursday. So we reschedule. Tech calls me day of the new appointment and asks if I thawed out the fridge. I told him I thawed it for 3~ hours per his instructions and I was told that it needed to thaw for 24 hours. Why would it need to thaw 24 hours if 3 hours didnt fix it, but it made a tray of ice after the tech was here for 15~ minutes? The only difference is the tech disconnected the wiring harness and I did not when I thawed it out. When I challenged the tech on this he told me that the line partially unfroze in the 15 minutes he had the door open, but didnt unfreeze when it was open for 3~ hours thawing out? Come on now, it doesnt take a service tech to know that is a line of bologna. I asked for a different tech to come service my appliance and was told there was only 1 tech that serviced my area.

Keith, CA’s field worker, came out to my house as scheduled, on time; go figure right? He quickly got down to brass tax, troubleshot why the convection oven and broiler would not preheat, to a defective Direct Spark Ignition (DSI) circuit card; and ordered it. When the DSI came in, CA scheduled his return trip to install it. Other than living without our range for the duration, the process was smooth and efficient. Since this appliance was under LOWES extended warranty, there was no fees involved. Highly recommend using their services in the future!

Id give them 0 stars if I could. We moved into a brand new house, dishwasher didnt work. Vendor sends this joke of a company, and the first available is over a week out. Fine. They ask, by text, to confirm date and time, never any other information. Day of repair comes, and theyre at our old address. Their office calls me, gives ME attitude because somehow it is my fault, then lies and says we tried to call you. No, no you didnt. I told her, with her attitude, I didnt want any of them in my home. Avoid this company at all costs, youll regret it every step of the way if you use them.

Office personnel are completely incompetent. Ordered the wrong part, still had me pay for the repair before it was finished. Then, did not prioritize coming back out. I waited a month between services with a broken dishwasher. (I had to call and ask if the part was in). They came back out when I was at work. Because they had me set some of the parts aside, they assumed I did not have them. So they installed it sloppily. Did not call to ask about anything and just re-installed the dishwasher sticking out of the cabinets. Now they are refusing to come back, because its been too long. Cool. Thanks. With how much money Im spending, I should have just bought a brand new dishwasher. I now have to call ANOTHER company to fix their awful work. What a horrible company. Dont waste your time - theyre too busy for you.

Customer reps are very responsive which is why I gave them 2 stars. The bad part is when the tech came the first time, he automatically said he couldnt do anything to help when he just walked in. He ended up ordering parts. A tech came back a second time from Cap City and replaced parts; microwaved turned on for 5 minutes and did not work again. He told me that he would tell Frigidaire it was still not working. Called the next business day to check status and the tech told Cap City it was working when he left. Untruthful and unprofessional at the least. Also, take at least a week to week and a half to get you booked for an appt.Update:I then receive a text message stating thisGood Morning, We have received a google review, we are cancelling your service for 08/16. Capital City Appliance was provided as a service provider through our home warranty company to fix our dishwasher. We scheduled with them to come out to see why our dishwasher was smoking. Zach was the tech who came to our house. He was a nice guy who checked out dishwasher but informed us that he didnt have time to stay around & watch it smoke (it would smoke at the end of the cycle as it was drying), because he was too busy with other jobs. So, he said he would order a replacement heating element & would come back out to put it in when they got it.He came back out a week later to replace the part. He told us that he was once again in a hurry because his next job was typically a 3-hour job but his company only scheduled him 40 minutes to do the job. He replaced the part in about 10 minutes & was out the door. He told us that the dishwasher would have a smell the first couple of times we use it because of the oil on the new heating element. After he left, we ran the dishwasher to get rid of the oil smell, & we noticed the dishwasher wasnt put back in its place (see video). It was easily movable & not secure now.I called Capital City Appliance to let them know that the dishwasher was loose & that we could move it. I spoke with Karen, & she asked to put me on hold. After coming back on the line, she asked if I had tried to use a screwdriver to re-attach the dishwasher. I told her, no, I hadnt tried that. She then told me that her manager (whom I assume she had just spoken with) told her the screw goes back into the same hole.I told her that I thought Zach hadnt completed the job because of how busy he told us he was. She quickly responded that it didnt matter how busy the techs were, they all finish the job. Then she told me that they would come back out & fix the dishwasher, but I would have to call up our home warranty company (which wed have to pay for again), file a work order with them. Then the home warranty company would reach out to Capital City. Then Capital City would reach out to me. Then I could schedule a time for them to fix it.I get it, oversights happen, especially when a job is rushed. But the fact that Karen wouldnt just admit that the job wasnt completed & just schedule Zach or any other tech to come finish the job is what was irritating. And, the way Karens attitude changed as soon as I mentioned how Zach on two separate occasions told us how busy he was & how he didnt have time, was unprofessional, as she immediately became very defensive.I would just like Capital City to come to our house & complete the job by securing our dishwasher in place.

We have had to use Capital City Appliance Service multiple times for our brand new very expensive KitchenAid side by side refrigerator. The first time was when the refrigerator broke within the first two months of purchase. The company dealt with us respectfully and honestly. They told us up front that the part would be a long time in coming because of the delay in getting parts. We are accustomed to a long wait since COVID so we werent particularly upset. When the service people were here finally with the part, the service person came with the part, called us on the way here, and wore a mask while dealing with fixing the refrigerator. It is now the 3rd call on our refrigerator, with the same and a different problem that they will fix. Again, the front office was respectful. I called when the technology was glitching and not working correctly. They overrode the system from their end and we were able to set up an appointment. They were honest and told me that it would be a window of time and not a specific time. I can do that now, I am retired. If I werent retired, I probably would not be too happy with a wide window of time. The office also said I would get a reminder the day before, which I did and a call as the repair person was on their way. I also got the call a couple of minutes before they arrived, just like the office said they would.Upon arrival, I asked the person if he was vaccinated against COVID and respectfully told me NO. With his honestly and his respectfully tone, I could act accordingly to my health needs. I didnt request a mask, at that point, but I was impressed with his honesty. The person came in, did his evaluation and told us that they were requesting two parts and that the office would be in touch with the two parts. I would recommend this company again because of their honesty, respect, and punctuality in servicing my needs when it comes to servicing this expensive refrigerator.

We called Capital City Appliance because they were showing certified by Samsung, as we have a Samsung fridge. Our compressor was dying and it was under warranty. Capital City sent Darron out and he put the compressor in, plugged in the fridge and it started making noise right away and he said it was normal and you’ll get used to it. Well, we finally opened the back up and saw that 3 out of the 4 bolts to hold down the compressor were not bolted down at all. Very disappointing. Will never use Capital City Aplliance again. The service person was not able to help, only took model number off the oven which I called to clarify with the office 3 times. I was assured (3 times) if they knew the model number and the error code number they would have the parts with them on the service call. The service person was in my house literally less than 5 mins. He came in, looked at the oven for the model number and told me the error code indicated we need a new fan which he would have to order. I called the office to speak with the manager. I was told the manager was not available and he would return my call. We have a dryer that works but at the end of every load the clothes are not dry! Capital City came out and checked the dryer but found nothing wrong with it?! After dealing the issue for a few more weeks and running the dryer 2xs for every load we called Maytag repair hotline again and Capital City was scheduled to come back out. The repair man called and stated he would come back out but would not find anything wrong with the dryer and we would owe an $85 service fee, which Im fine to pay. (A dryer is designed to dry clothes if it is not drying clothes than there IS a problem with the dryer) But after the phone call from the repair tech it seemed like a waste of money. So we called Maytag back to find out what the next step should be. Maytag said they could do nothing else without the dryer being checked again by a repair man. So, once again Capital City was scheduled to come out and check the dryer with a Maytag Engineer on the phone as part of the service call (Sounded Great). The morning of the scheduled service the repair tech called and was rude about coming out and to make sure that we know if no problem is found, and he is sure hell not find one, we would owe the $85 service fee (No Problem) and was very rude to my wife. Shortly after someone from Capital City called to inform us that the service manager is refusing service and will not send the repair tech out. Again we have a dryer that will not dry clothes properly, so there is a PROBLEM!!! If I could leave zero stars, I would. I contacted Whirlpool regarding a repair to me refrigerator/freezer. Whirlpool set up my service appointment with Capital City Appliance in Columbus, OH. Capital City scheduled my appointment right away and sent their tech, Galvin, to diagnose and repair the unit. Galvin recommended that I defrost the unit first instead of repairing the part. He advised to give it two weeks and if the issue was not resolved to contact the office again and he would come back to fit repair the part. I followed these directions and after 2 weeks the unit was still not working.I called Capital City today to schedule the work as Galvin recommended. The office manager answered and told me that I actually needed to contact Whirlpool...that it was over 2 weeks from my work order so I would have to pay for the service and part. I began to explain what Galvin had told me and was immediately cut off. The office manager was defensive, combative, and asked why I would listen to Galvin...that he is a technician and not in billing? I was told to contact Whirlpool directly.I have now read other reviews of this company. It is obvious from other comments that Capital City is not interested in the customer experience and are not accountable for the work and recommendations that their employees offer. It is also apparent that they look for loopholes not to honor work and agreements that are made with manufacturers like Whirlpool.I recommended not using Capital City Appliance for any work if possible.

If I could give negative stars, I would. Hands down the worst customer experience I have ever had. I contacted Frigidaire due to my oven making a very high pitched, dog whistle like noise every time I used it. They referred me to capital city appliance and it was horrible. The technician came out and was absurdly rude. Slammed on my door, didn’t take his shoes off, turned the oven on, opened it and said “I don’t hear anything so I can’t do anything”. Said I would be contacted by Frigidaire within 24 hours and left within the first 2 minutes of arriving. That never happened, so I reached back out to capital city and they said I was supposed to call Frigidaire myself. The receptionist was nice, but when she handed the phone to her manager the tone completely changed. I expressed my experience to her and she started to give me an attitude. She then started to defend the technician, saying they would charge me the next time a technician came out. I interjected and she then went “bah bah bah bah bah I let you talk, now you let me talk” what is that?! Never have had that one happen to me before. During my original appointment, the technician legitimately could not hear this noise because of his age ( at 17 KHz the noise can only be heard up to the age of 25). I expressed this to the manager and she immediately became very offended saying I was slandering older people? This is a legitimate medical fact, not slander. All I wanted was for a younger technician to come out and actually perform the service job I requested. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone, and I will be informing frigidaire to no longer recommend the use of this company as well.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Terrible experience today. The repairman came to my house, I explained the problem then he called his supervisor. He told me he couldnt find the model number or serial number so he had to leave. I offered to provide it to him and asked him to call his boss again. The boss said he couldnt take it from me and ordered him to leave. I wish I could post 0 stars.

Ive had problems with the ice maker on my Frigidaire Professional refrigerator since I bought it 4 years ago. Im on my 3rd refrigerator and Capital City, the authorized Frigidaire repair company has been out 5 times on this 3rd refrigerator for the same issue. Im out of warranty now and paid $93 for the most recent service call and Capital City says the parts will be over $500. They refuse to say the refrigerator isnt fixable because the can install parts to fix it even though the parts continue to fail. They wont acknowledge that it is unusual to have to replace a refrigerator 3 times and have 5 repairs in a 4 year period for the same issue. It is a racket to keep them in the repair business and Frigidaire in the parts business. Ive filed a complaint with the BBB.

Look no further than the replies from this company to the negative reviews below mine. Our brand new GE dryer purchased in June of this year is having some kind of electronic issue (Still not working but GE is handling it.) I already had GE out this past Monday 8/10 when I called their customer service. The technician ordered a new part for us to be delivered but said we may not need it. Well, today the issue came up again and so I went to the GE website to order warranty service rather than wait for an hour over the phone, my mistake, because they assigned this company to my warranty issue. Capital city appliance service sent me a text to confirm the appointment and asked that I call to confirm information. When I called thats when the problem started. Whoever answered the phone isnt very schooled in customer service. She tried to tell me my unit was out of warranty first, I explained that it wasnt and gave her the model and serial number (all information that is sent via the GE website confirmed with GE when I called them) along with the date of purchase and installation June 2020. Then she tells me that I needed to have the original receipt or they would charge me $85 to come out there. I actually found it after we got off the phone but at that point I knew this isnt a company that I wanted to do business with after speaking with her and having to jump through hoops and defend myself to get a brand new dryer serviced.GE was happy to handle my request after calling them without any proof of purchase because guess what? Its already in their system which they sent to this 2nd rate servicer. Dont partner with manufacturers if youre not prepared to service warranty claims.Edit: In response to the owner:Mr Blankenbeker, It is mandated by the Manufacturers that we submit a copy of the consumers proof of purchase for all warranty claims. Unfortunately, this is not only an inconvenience for our staff to explain, but obviously for the consumer that may not be prepared to do so.How inconvenient, to have to say all those words over the phone instead of what was actually said, telling me my new dryer is out of warranty first and then arguing with me that you got bad information from GE.It is stated in ALL owners manuals, to receive warranty service, proof of purchase is required. In this case, as you stated, you were not willing to provide this information. As I stated above, GE has never asked me for my original receipt or proof of purchase, the unit is registered on their website along with the matching washing machine we bought in June. All of this information was sent to your company when I requested service on the GE website and I confirmed that with them after I ended the call with your company. It also must be said that had your employee been a little more empathetic and acted like she actually wanted to work with me we wouldnt be going back and forth over Google reviews.we request this review be removed under the pretense of false information. There is no false information in my review, none. I have provided you and hopefully other consumers with my situation and how it transpired. Ultimately, Im not arguing over your policy or the manufacturer policy of having to provide proof of purchase. Its the way I was treated over the phone for trying to get something that is less than 4 months old working. You want more positive reviews and feel that people are treating you unfairly? Start by treating your potential customers with a little more respect upfront, it goes a long way.

I don’t usually provide reviews but after seeing such low reviews for this company I felt compelled to respond. I don’t know why or how the others who commented arrived at 1 star, but we have had nothing but good interactions with Capital City. The problem is more with Kitchen Aid doing nothing. James, who came to our house, was very personable, knowledgeable and helpful. He took the time to discuss everything and offer his advice. The scheduling and customer service people we spoke with all were very nice, and accommodating. The cost was reasonable as well. We’ll certainly use Capital City again if ever needed (hopefully not needed) and would recommend to anyone.

The repairman (Keith H.) was courteous and very professional. He had my dryer disassembled, replaced a part and reassembled in under 30 minutes. On top of replacing the part, the repairman gave me a few tips on how to avoid future failures. This was my first experience with this company and I am completely satisfied with the services that I received. Thanks

I disassembled the Whirlpool oven door to diagnose the problem. I have a bent spring hinge. I called Whirlpool, explained the problem, told them the part to send. This would avoid 2 trips for the service call. A long story short, I voided my warranty. Not a problem. I asked the repairman how long would it take him to reassemble the door with the new hinge. He said 20 minutes. I asked him to check with his company to see if they could sell me the hinge and could I pay them to install it. He checked with his supervisor. The answer was no. I would have paid $175 to get my $700 oven working. Instead, my part will be here tomorrow, next day delivery - $26 plus $11 shipping. I know this guy who removed 14 screws who can reverse the process and provide great customer satisfaction. He also knows the difference between a screw and a bolt. Thats another story. One more unusual item is a Whirlpool employee was traveling with this repair contractor. He was more customer friendly but had no authority to provide a helpful outcome. He did know the difference between a bolt and a screw. Hes from a nearby Whirlpool factory shadowing a contract service representative.

Called on Monday for my dryer and was told they could come Wednesday. The lady who took my call was friendly and personable. On Tuesday I was texted a 3 hour window saying between 11-2. On Wednesday the tech phoned at 11:30 saying he was on his way. Arrived at 12:30. He was professional and friendly and diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes. Went over the cost to repair and he had the parts available. Another half hour and it was fixed. Very happy with their service. Also I like to add that I thought the charge for fixing was very reasonable and it included the fee to come look at it. $222 total. My dryer is only 3 years old and would of been $900 at least to replace it. Would absolutely recommend Capital City Appliance.

Customer service should attend customer service school. Does the owners of this business truly believe it is acceptable to tell a customer that they have to make themselves available to Capitol Citys schedule? Do you truly think that because I run a small business in town I can leave whenever I want? After 5 appointments with your company for warranty repair since 2016, ice maker still has never worked properly & I will not recommend your company for repair work. Your service repair people are very polite, now teach your ladies that schedule appointments to handle themselves in the same manner. Oh, & I dont ever review companies, till you.

We made an appointment for repair through Lowe’s. We received a call the same day from Capital City Appliance to explain the process. On Friday before the visit we received an automated message detailing our repair window for service. Keith was our repairman this morning. He telephoned with a time and arrived promptly to repair our KitchenAid dishwasher. He listened to our description of the issue (leaking) and began his investigation. He was efficient and thorough and had our problem solved and was out the door in no time. He was very professional and I would definitely recommend Capital City Appliance Repair. Keith said they are capable of repairing all appliances from new to not. Keep them in mind.

I was not happy with the service I received. Our home warranty sent this company to us and the technician looked at our machine and then showed my husband the problem. Told my husband that it was an easy fix and rather than actually fixing it. Showed my husband where the problem was and did not actually fix the wire that was shorting on the machine. My husband had mentioned that we had a home warranty and the technician said they do not work with our warranty company. My husband had asked the technician to fix the problem and started we would deal with reimbursement from the warranty company. The technician left without fixing the problem saying he had to wait for approval. I received a questionnaire in my email asking about my experience and I stated in this questionnaire that I was not pleased that the easy fix had not been fixed. Then when my warranty company tried to contact them to get a diagnosis they refused to speak with them so that the warranty company could give approval of costs for parts and labor to fix it. I ended up having to make multiple calls to this company in order to get accurate information for my home warranty. After going back and forth for over a week and this company refusing to work with us or my warranty company, my home warranty companys excellent customer service finally told us to set up and appointment with this company to get the wire fixed and they would reimburse us the cost. The technician came and fixed the wire and then in the comments section of the receipt I was emailed put comments about multiple calls with fraudulent identification and how the unit is now repaired, as the simple fix could have been repaired prior, WITH costumer service! No further service. I found this to be not only rude and unprofessional but also a lie as my husband had tried to get the technician to fix it the first visit but was told it could not be done without approval and then in this the technician made it seem as though we refused service. I will NEVER use this company again. If you value your time and sanity and wish to be treated fairly do not use this company.

The technicians are always wonderful and can promptly and accurate diagnose issues, etc. Ive had two technicians out for my LG washer that is still under warranty. The service/scheduling from management is absolutely deplorable. They schedule by having the customers pick a day, and you dont get your time block until the day before (who cares if it doesnt work for you and who cares that you have to take off work for a whole day). If that time doesnt work the scheduling dept wont work with customers to check logistics. Instead they have you pick a new day and play the lottery for your time slot until a time works. Its absolutely insane no way to run a business. I continue to use Capital City because its through a Lowes warranty and after my warranty is up I will not be using them.

After I had confirmed my repair date with the company I had to do it again by text if I am unable to do this then the service person will not come. When I called in again to verify time I was told the service person would call me 30 minutes before they come. I said if I miss the call what happens office person said then they wont come. I said Im here please just have them come. She said I didnt have to get nasty actually a different word then that. No stars wasnt an option. Ive noticed a lot of appliance repair places charge to give their best guess at whats wrong, without taking anything apart. Thats $140.00. Then they make it unpleasant/difficult and expensive to get second appointments. They refused labor warranty. Parts warranty is manufacturer, thats standard. What if their guess is wrong? You just spent $140.00 for a best guess, Its now $160.00 an hour to work on it a different day. Thats $300 toward a best guess. 2 times off work.

Stay away from Capital City Appliance Service !! Customer service is at best way below average and their technicians very incompetent.. Update: 4/30/2021We had problems with our Whirlpool when we originally bought it. Unfortunately, problems crept up again. Capital City came back out (Darron again - he is awesome) and identified the problem with the freezer door. The fix - a new door. It took several weeks for the door to ship from Whirlpool, but once it did, the folks at Capital City did a great job scheduling and Darron did an excellent job installing (I can’t imagine his days being easy, yet he was always polite and professional).Capital City was also a breeze to work with regarding the warranty. Whirlpool provided CC with an incorrect purchase date and at first, I was instructed that there would be a cost for the repair. When I provided my invoice with the actual purchase date (verifying that it was still under warranty), CC took care of the rest. It was so easy. Thanks Capital City (and Darron)!Original Post (May 2020):We purchased a new Whirlpool refrigerator and were very frustrated when it wasnt working properly only 7 days after we installed it. It would randomly decide to not dispense water or it would keep dispensing water after we pulled the glass away.We scheduled Capital City through Whirlpools site. The experience was excellent. The initial scheduling through Whirlpool was easy. Capital City followed up through a phone call to verify the appointment. I received confirmation emails/texts about my appointment and a phone call before the tech, Darron, arrived.Darron wore a mask and gloves the entire time he was inside the house. He quickly diagnosed the problem, let me know that Capital City would have to order parts and schedule a follow-up, but assured me everything would be covered under the warranty.Sure enough, I received a call from Capital City a couple of days later to schedule another appointment. Once again, Darron arrived (called ahead) and swapped out the parts in a matter of minutes. He is great. In the future, Ill definitely call Capital City! Thanks Darron!
