Well I can’t say this place isn’t a real local gem, albeit a bit pricey, although when we compare quality and material and contrast it to modern vendors; it’s a long step above them all... What to find at Grandview Mercantile you ask? Everything mostly, it’s a good blend of retro and mid century meets fine antiques and quirky furniture and fixtures. Plenty of eccentric art and upper class and modern arts all the same, we can blanket that sentiment over the whole of the stores offerings and call is a meld of classes of tastes and periods. You might even walk around simply for a to do, and some lovely conversation. It’s fun to participate in Columbus growing community and offerings and simply feel at home. This is a good addition and edition to and for the ever growing central Ohio spirit... My only critique is, I, we are a tattooed couple, we do not convey a traditional energy of wealth but what we convey isn’t your concern. All patrons are equals, and I believe staff may or may not need a culture refresher course. I as a local guide also own two thriving business of great reputation. You never know who might drop the big bucks! Or a bad review... Cheers!

This is my 1st time visiting the new location since I moved & I love it! Don’t get me wrong, I miss all of the windows & natural light from the old location on High Street, but I enjoy not fighting for parking.. Patty was extremely helpful & so nice!!! I cannot wait to stop back in when I visit Columbus again!

Unique items, good used condition, most fairly priced

We drive up from Cincinnati, OH to visit our son in Columbus and this place is on the must stop at list every visit. The staff are helpful and friendly. We love to walk around to look at all the gems in places like this. I would give 4.5 stars if an options. I have to take something off for price. Everything seems so high in comparison to other similar places in Cincinnati. We purchased a bed frame last trip. Drove up from Cincinnati to pick it up and when we returned realized that we didnt have any hardware. Eva and Lennie jumped into action the second we called about the issue. They were able to to secure the hardware from the consigner the next day. I think Lennie even drove to the consigner to pick it up. Overnighted to us UPS. Great service. Thanks!

We had the daunting task of clearing out 40 years of furniture in a very short time. We had no idea who to trust with our treasured belongings. Pam from Grandview Mercantile came to the house and immediately dispelled our qualms. She recognized the provenance of our items. In one case, she identified two pieces that were designer specific. The prices she quoted were more than fair and we were solid in our commitment. She arranged for furniture pickup and the company was fair and very professional. We left Ohio with the confidence that all would be handled fairly and equitably. All but three minor pieces sold! We couldnt be happier with the professionalism and personal care that we experienced.

If mid-century modern furniture and art were people this is the gated community where all the beautiful and sexy people would retire and play golf, tennis, and look lustily at one another. One of my favorite places to shop for MCM art and furniture.

Grand Mercantile is a first class operation with an incredible team. Very responsive and friendly. I bought a beautiful antique lamp, and feel like I had white glove treatment from several staff members, all working together. I wish all businesses had this level of quality product and outstanding customer service.

Way overpriced. There’s some items that are more expensive than the brand new versions. Staff are rude and condescending. Don’t come here!

Happen to come across a similar lamp they sold off their website. Called to get more information gentleman who answered stated the lamp sold but gave the wrong description of the lamp after I pointed that out he said my bad but it sold. Trying to find product info on the lamp but offered nothing ask what the value of the lamp was again no help whatsoever.Thought about subscribing to email list but after that conversation I’ll move along to a business that boast fine collectibles with more than it sold knowledge!Maybe it was a Manic Monday for this guy. Or maybe if I had stated I was looking to consign the attitude would have shifted.A guess this buckeye doesn’t know much about customer service.

This place is awesome! Little hidden gems with gently used treasures waiting to be found.

Friendly employees and great environment.

They have some nice stuff but it’s very obviously overpriced. Also the employees are literally so rude stalking you and walking 2 feet behind you and listening to your conversations. It’s creepy and not enjoyable to shop. Also, the employee was so close to me that I’m positive he wasn’t at a safe social distance.

Such cool stuff! Have to return often to see the recently added items.

More fun to browse than plan to buy, much of the wares here are a little high end. But there are some odd little treasures stacked around as well.

I love going here. They have so many unique items. They have A huge inventory thats always changing! Glassware, jewelry, furniture galore and so many statues and home decorum. And they have many vintage items as well.

Nice expensive stuff (key word expensive) but every associate asking you if you need help is not there to help...hint- they are either stalking you to leave or intimidated by your audacity to come into their store and buy their overpriced consignment items. Everyone gets the treatment so not pulling a race card but this place could stand to go further than a 20% discount all day for a weekend. Sidenote to owners - Some old wood drink coasters are seriously 100 bucks? Really??

Some really great items here. Theyre not all antiques either there is some modern stuff. A great variety of items as well. The prices ranged from $50 to $8000, so theres a good selection for everyone.

It was fun to poke around here on a laxy Sunday afternoon. We didnt have any particular plans to buy but found some fantastic old prints that well frame and hang around the house. So fun!There was a lot of eclectic merchandise here, from vases to couches to statues to furniture.

Theyve done a nice job of transitioning to the new location. Easy to find and lots of parking available. Always a joy to wander the store and look at all the new items for sale. Much of the furniture in my house is from the Mercantile Company. As a kid, I remember when it started on Grandview Ave in the old location and thinking I want everything in this store. Fast forward many years, I have beautiful quality furniture (Castle Oak dining room set, hall mirror, oriental rugs, Drexel heritage bed, many lamps, and Edwardian sofa). This is the first place that I recommend to people searching for quality furniture at the fraction of the price for new. For example, my Jacobean dining room set new would be over $10K but I managed to get it for $1800 for eight chairs, table, sideboard and liquor cabinet. It seems that I find things there that Im not looking for. Once I was looking for a rug, and I found my dining room set. Then I was looking for lamps and I found a mirror. The people who work there really know their stuff too and help you find exactly what you are looking for. If they dont have it, chances are it will come it eventually. You cant beat the prices either...very reasonable for the quality items that they have.

Looking to add something to your home decor? Take a stroll through this place. Youre sure to find interesting things, and likely that missing piece, you didnt know was missing. Certainly worth a walk through.

Interesting place. It is a very large building crammed full of a wide variety of items. Prices are pretty high but maybe that is appropriate for this kind of furniture. The prices do go down after items are on the floor a while. Definitely worth the visit if you are looking for unusual or retro pieces.

This is a fun place to search for unique pieces for your home. Merchandise changes daily, and there is something to fit everyones style. Dont expect to get through this place in a short amount of time. Its the kind if place you can spend a couple hours.

Went into Grandview Mercantile for the purpose of buying a ring. When Mark showed us the ring I inquired if there were any additional discounts available. He called the owner and secured an additional 10% off. I felt I got the ring she wanted from a great salesperson at a fair price. I have shopped there several times over the years all resulting in a positive experience.

OMG! This was my first time being in the new space! Just beautiful. I cant wait to bring things in to sell.Rusty met me at the door with a smile and answers to my questions. If you have never visited, take a trip. Great buys, great & unique merchandise, great prices. Oh, did I tell you this is a consignment store.

I love this place and come every time I’m in Columbus. They have a wide variety of decorative objects and furniture, from antique to vintage to contemporary. It’s a mix of antique dealers with a consignment area as well (the consignments get cheaper the longer they sit, which is marked clearly on their tags). The prices are reasonable for the current antiques market, and I don’t think I’ve ever left this place empty handed.

The establishment has a huge selection of very nice and unique furniture. I believe everything is on consignment. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Great place to find unique items. Furniture, decor, jewerly, housewares, old books. The offerings are endless. Sometimes I walk through like its a museum. Where else could I buy an end table, ring with precious gems, and a no-parking funeral sign?

Great place. It truly has different items, from antiques, to collectibles, to MCM. I was impressed by the cleanliness and prices. For a higher-end store, it does have some affordable items. The consignment furniture section on the other side is a bit messy (it is like a maze with little wiggle room in some places), but the prices are decent. Its nice to see that some sellers of antiques/collectibles have integrity. Very friendly customer service.

This huge store sells a wide variety of ecclectic furnishings and artwork. All items are in excellent condition.This is a must visit in the Grandview area.Ample parking. Many restaurants nearby.

I spoke with Kara about consigning some items. She advised me she would accept the items and gave me a price estimate.I emailed two days prior to my visit that I would be driving the 2.5 hours to bring my items in. Upon getting to the store, I was first met by a unpleasant sales gal, then I discussed my drop off with the store manager. The manager refused to accept my items after my long drive to the store! My items were prior approved by their consignor rep!I don’t know what was worse, the rude clerk or turning away my business.

I liked the old location much better. The new space is extremely crowded and disorganized. The staff isn’t very friendly and follow customers around like they are about to steal something. Perhaps if they just give a smile, welcome the customers, and let them know they are available to help if needed. Also, many items are modern and not vintage or antique. Used to frequent Grandview Mercantile often. Doubt that I will continue to do so now.

Make sure you have plenty of time when you walk through those doors. What a great assortment of merchandise! Wow!

Very cool niche place

I was yelled at and angrily told you will be towed the next time you park here. This was for parking in their almost empty parking lot at closing time. Mind you, I parked there for less than five minutes--most of which was after the store was closed. I assumed the lot worked like the bank across the street which allows non-customer parking after hours. Apparently Mercantile is not so community minded and reserves the parking lot for all hours. Well they are correct i will not be parking there again--especially not to shop here again.

Disappointed by the prices. Theyre selling clean quality used merchandise for a premium price.Good if you are able to find that must have unique item for any price.
