The card they gave us to leave the gate doesnt work and the after hours emergency number goes to some random guy that doesnt work for uhaul. So after driving 12 hours paying over 120 for a storage unit, we are stuck inside and cant get out.
Pleasant staff, will get you set up with what you need from trucks and vans to moving supplies. 1 of the young ladies who worked there was even nice enough to offer me a ride to my car after I brought back the van that I had rented from them. Conveniently located in the Fort Jackson area opening early in the morning at 7 a.m.
No Problems. Went to rent a Truck and she thought a van would worker and she was totally correct.Thanks for the advise. I’m ready to rent again and their are 3 others closer that you guys but I’m sticking with the best. Thank You.Betty Kay Etue
I called to cancel my storage on 2/22/19, I also came in on 2/23/19 to make sure the cancellation was documented as my next bill date was 2/28. I was told my account has been notated, however, I received an email that my payment is late on 3/3 (Sunday) Office opens at 9am on Sundays, but no one answered the phone when I tried at 9:30. Now I have to chase these people in order to make sure this is taken care of. Smh 🤦🏽♀️
Great customer service office was so clean and organized. I could see my reflection in the shine on the floor thats crazy lol. Everyone was smiling, happy I wish I could have shopped for more than just boxes. I would have stayed longer. I really like Uhaul.
I really wish I could give this place ZERO stars. I came in for a 5x10 storage unit. The manager Tawana was the person assisting me. While she was taking my personal information she kept repeating it aloud for validation. She asked me for my employers information which was completely odd, and I refused to give it to her. Moments into the transaction, I realized that someone was on her cell phone on FaceTime. I stopped and asked her if she had she one on the phone while she was repeating my personal information. At first she didn’t answer then said it was a business call. I then when onto asked her could she end the call while I’m disclosing my personal information and doing business. She rolled her eyes and handed back my license and said I could take my business else where since I feel violated. I then went onto say that’s not the appropriate way to do business. I called customer service and they made me a reservation at the site and persistently denied my business. This was bad business, but I believe it was a blessing in disguise on my end. Please people be mindful of fraud.
Ashley is an excellent manager. If there was a problem one of her staff couldnt solve, she was on top of it. She keeps her store maintained very well. Although I am not the largest fan of Uhaul, her location definitely gives the brand/company a better image than almost all of the companys other horribly maintained locations.
I got there on time and waited an hour to get my rental van. I was about as civil as I could be, considering the woman who helped me made me late, it wasnt clear where to park, the line was too long for only one staff member, etc. I was lucky - the girl in line ahead of me waited over an hour to get her truck.While the woman at the counter got my van, I parked my car. I walked back into the location to find that she had left my debit card unattended with other customers waiting at the desk. She kept trying to make jokes with me about things like having my car towed. When I didnt laugh (because thats not funny), she said that I didnt have a sense of humor.When I returned to the location to drop off my van, I drove past the office and was almost hit head on by the attendant who brings the trucks back in. He came around the corner like a madman. He just grinned at me when I asked how the heck to get out of that place.If I have any problems with that card, the one left on the counter while the woman at the counter left to start my rental van, theyll hear from me again.
The whole chain of Uhaul in Columbia is garbage. Rude staff, rude and unprofessional management...all the way up to the President. It’s a shame for a national company to be this bad. I travel all over the US and have never had so many problems with a company as a whole. Stay away!
Reserved a 6x12 trailer over a month in advance for a PCS. Trailer was to include an appliance dolly and 24 blankets for wrapping furniture. On day of picking up the trailer, at the counter, I was informed that there were no blankets available. The young female employee then proceeded to bring out a utility dolly. When I informed her that this was the wrong dolly and that an appliance dolly had been reserved, she stated Oh, I dont know what an appliance dolly is, we just have the two kinds. Do you want the little one with four wheels? In order to obtain what I had reserved over a month ago, I had to explain to this employee to call other Uhaul locations. The Decker blvd locatio thankfully had everything in stock that was needed and we proceeded to the trailer. Note that I would be the one to have to drive to Decker Blvd to obtain my reserved items.I backed my truck to the trailer and the employee proceeded to attach my trailer to my vehicle due to company policy. Never the less I continued to attach the chains while she secured the ball. I left discontent but gracious that a location had the items I required. I drove to the decker location and obtained my items and preceeded home on Percival road. Upon hitting a bump in the road, the back end of my truck began to severely fish tail as the trailer jerked left to right and whipped my truck. I cautiously slowed and stopped on the side of the road and exited my vehicle to discover that the ball from my truck had never been tightened and instead been turned to the loosest position. The bump had unsecured the trailer from my hitch resulting in the chains being the only mechanism securing the trailer to my vehicle. Everything was thankfully recorded on dash cam. I secured the trailer properly myself and was able to safely proceed home.If you require a Uhaul, do yourself a favor and go with the Decker blvd location. The employee employed here apparently have either no training or motivation to properly do their job. Had I not insisted on personally securing my vehicle with the chains, my trailer and vehicle could have easily ended up in the ditch or worst, causing a major accident to an innocent driver.
The Manager Ashley is the Epitome of Ignorance seems hostile when spoken to! What is really being stored there, do you even know? The other employee is awful seems very confrontational and believes she knows everything! You may have had a hard life from the look of you! Please STOP being Fake! I Truly Hope UHaul rethinks who works for them! Go to any other UHaul in SC! This Forest Drive location is Awful! If I could say more I would!

Tried to reserve a unit here, however there was a sign on the door that said went to store thanks, staff as far as Im concerned, you shouldnt be going anywhere while on a companys time clock. Waited for 20 minutes. Another customer before me stated they had already been waiting for some time before I arrived.Edit: desk agent has no idea whats shes doing
They keep jacking the price up every time I talked to them with mileage. It started out at 120.00 for a week I ended up paying over 400.oo
Really no star at all, even if you break down in front of this place they are no help. No one knows what they are doing or how uhal works. Save yourself 2 days of aggravation and use the uhal 6 miles away in Cayse South Carolina very friendly knowledgeable and was in and out in less than 10 min. Best part didnt have to put up with old smiley

I rented a 8’ truck for the 4 hour share but only had it about 2.5 hours and got a bill for a full day and 354.8 miles. Now someone tell me how I that makes sense. I’ve tried to call and have customer service call this location and no one answered since 2 pm.
Easy rental, quick in-and-out. Truck was in good condition and drove fine.
Complete failure. I reserved a tow dolly over the phone a few days prior to pick up and the dolly was not at the location when I arrived to pick it up. Then they had me drive 20 minutes to another location where I had to wait for 40 minutes for someone to arrive so I could rent a dolly from them. I was two hours late and out of my way. Absolutely horrible service.
Poor customer service. I was with my 85 year old grandmother, the 18 year old girl working the front desk was rude made my grandmother cry ! She even yelled. Do not ever use this uhaul on forest drive
Unprofessional waited 20 minutes on a Sunday morning waiting for someone to come and open the store so I could return the rental truck
Horrible customer service. Opened late and had two employees on site but only one working. Line was out the door and when I asked for my reserved truck, they gave it to someone else.
