OK Its sometimes hard to support small businesses for various reasons but at Pen Boutique it was easy. They have competitive prices and great customer service and they update often on social media and of course you get quality videos on you tube. I ordered a fountain pen and it was cheaper than Amazon and was ordered and delivered in 2 days vs. 1 week on Amazon. This is usually not the service you always get from smaller businesses. Great selection of pens and helpful friendly service.I visited the shop for the first time and bought a couple pens, which were a bit of a splurge for me. When I got home, I decided one of them wasnt right for me. I went to the store a few days later, and the hours had changed so the store was closed (this inconsistency was due to reopening after covid and maybe severe weather that day).I called the customer service phone number, and they were extremely helpful. They sent someone out from the warehouse next door with a the pen I wanted, and took care of the exchange even though the store was closed. That saved me another trip, and I didnt expect such a positive response.The shop mainly has pens with a great selection and variety in stock. They also have a smaller but well-chosen range notebooks, pads, ink and refills, and other stationary available. The prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent as mentioned.

Writing letters has taken on a new significance. After some research with knowledgeable fountain pen owners I zeroed my decision to a gold nib Pelikan - smoother, highly crafted mechanism and longevity. I am not a collector and I bought my first Pelikan 20 years ago (steel nib) and still writes well. There are a number of on-line retailers to work with yet Pen Boutique had the exact model I wanted. Their web site was easy to navigate, they provided a 5% discount coupon and sent me daily updates on shipping and delivery. My experience was in-person at the store. Well worth the 60-mile round trip!Not only is the selection of pens and inks staggering (in a good way) the service is top notch. I was able to try different nib sizes of pen brands I had not used before so my decision was as well informed as possible. I was able to consult the ink book before deciding on different bottles on fountain pen inks and all of the customer service was undertaken with a tremendous attitude back by knowledge of the product. Pen Boutique is one of my favorite pen stores online or off-line. Before the pandemic I used to love coming in to hang out with the knowledge staff and other customers, browse through new inventory, and invariably leave with a new bottle of ink from their very wide selection. These days I don’t really do in-person shopping any more, but Pen Boutique’s owner and staff have been super responsive and helpful with any questions that I email them, and ship my orders fast and safely. I can’t wait until this whole time is behind us and I can go visit them again.

I just received two ink refills for a pair of old ball point pens. T pens are about 30 years old so I was not very optimistic that a correct refill still existed making my refill selection a bit of a guess. The price was reasonable, the refills fit perfectly and printed a very nice fine line. Receipt of the items was made in good time.

I have been buying a few of the lesser priced fountain pens then I splurged on a Monteblanc. I received it in a timely manner but when I opened it there was an engraving. I contacted Customer Service and they sent a return label. I returned and they must have sent my pen out at the same time. Leena and her staff at Pen Boutique are First Class all around. For my nephew’s graduation, I promised to get him a fountain pen that was just coming out. Pen Boutique delivered it with no problem.Now here’s where Leena and her crew went above and beyond — once my niece found out what I got for my nephew, she wanted the exact same pen but in an extra fine for her birthday that was coming up pretty quickly.The only thing was the extra fine was on back order. So I quickly went looking around to see if other companies would have it in stock. None did. One company did try to have the pen sent in earlier, but it would still be on the day of my niece’s birthday and may be late.A day or two later, I get a personal call from Leena herself. We had a great conversation and ultimately decided that Leena will try her best to get the pen’s manufacturer to overnight the pen to them and Leena would overnight it to me so I could get it to my niece in time for her birthday — which she made happen!! Not only that, Leena and her staff PERSONALLY wrapped each item I bought for my niece for me because I wouldn’t be able to do it myself when they arrive.Wow. How can I not leave a raving review???
