Everyone from the Sales guy to the Finance Manager to the General Manager. Everyone was friendly and quick to answer any questions.Special shoutout to Von Robinson.... he worked so hard to get this deal closed. He went above and beyond and Jim Hudson should be thankful to have him on their team. He even checked up on me a few days later to make sure I was good.I would highly recommend that if youre looking for a Chevrolet in South Carolina, to give Jim Hudson a call.
My wife and I purchased a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe from this dealership and I must say it was the best experience I’ve ever had buying a vehicle. Our salesman Eli Kim was the best of the best. I came in to have my camaro diagnosed. Ben was very helpful and walked me through the process. They gave me a loaner while they were looking at her. I was having a stalling problem with the car that I bought somewhere else. Ben and the team worked diligently on my car and got everything figured out and parts replaced within a couple days!!! While our visit started out rocky due one sales person clearly being new and not fully knowing how to do his job, Joe Roberts stepped in and helped him out and closed the deal with us. He is an excellent sales person who listens fully and helps his customers to get the vehicle they want that meets their desires and needs. Dominic is a friendly and interactive general sales manager. Lambo is a finance manager who does his job well by probing for all the information he needs to get the best financing at the lowest rate without having your credit ran unnecessary.Overall, we are very pleased by the experience we had with Jim Hudson. My dealing was with the Service department. Very professional experience. Took my vehicle in on a Friday and dropped off for a Tuesday appointment. Got my vehicle back faster than expected. I am on my 3rd Suburban and you could say that the force of Murphys law has been with me on all 3. When I picked my car up this evening from getting a regular service, My husband and I had the opportunity to sit and talk with the Service manager, Mike Hermelin. How refreshing to see someone who has a vision that includes all of his employees. He believes in his people, knows that nothing is perfect and strives to move forward in a positive direction! I came in with a vehicle I was targeting and left with it in less than 2 hours. No hassle on extra up charges and warranties. Kyra Mae was very helpful and made the process SIMPLE.
I scheduled an appointment at this location for an oil change because the dealer I normally use didnt have availability for an appointment. I was impressed with the level of service I received from the time I arrived at the facility. Ben checked me in quickly. I received a follow up text stating if I needed anything while waiting on my vehicle I could reply to the text message. The waiting area was clean and spacious and my vehicle was completed within the estimated time frame. Additionally, the checkout process was very quick. I will definitely return to this dealership for services.
I dont care for coming here. I had an appointment at 12pm and I got here at 11:45am and the time is 1:47pm and Im still waiting. I dont understand way its taken so long to just get a new car key. And get it program to my car. No o e has come to me and check. I will not be coming back here 😒

Found Jim Hudson when looking for a dealership to care for my new Chevy Colorado. They were the third dealership I went to in Columbia. My experiences with the other dealerships were exactly like all the horror stories you hear. Jim Hudsons guys have completed work quickly, professionally, and beyond expectation. Every time I walk in there I walk out impressed. They have never hassled me, never tried to get around warranty, and even corrected issues in regards to service updates that I wasnt aware of. As a guy who has spent 25 year fixing my own vehicles, Jim Hudson is exactly the kind of place I trust.
My salesman, Calvin, is 1st class. I have been buying cars from him for 10 years now. This is the 5th car I have purchased from him (this includes my children too). He always goes above and beyond for me. This time I wanted to purchase a new Traverse, we were struggling to find one locally. Terrible customer service! My husband purchased a 2014 Honda Odyssey from them in March. There were some minor issues with the van and we were told they would fix them. Cool. One of the things wrong was the paint was chipped quite badly on the driver side mirror. When we picked it up, not only did they miss multiple spots on the mirror, but the mirror is also now broken! It cant be adjusted at all 🙄 My husband took it back on a weekend because we work all week and the staff said they couldnt help. They said we had to speak to a manager and to call during the week. It has been weeks since this happened and nobody will return our calls. So, not only did they not complete the original issue, they broke other things and now wont even fix any of it. I am definitely not happy about this. Hudson Chevy, you can and should do better by your customers. Get better mechanics if they cant fix things properly 🤷♀️
Do NOT take your car here to get it serviced. I began having engine trouble back in July and after replacing an emissions sensor and the turbo, they still didnt fix my car. Best AVOID their service department!!!
I worked mostly with Kyle, he was very patient, didnt make me feel rushed or pressured, and when I had questions or concerns he was prompt with trying to answer them. Lambo assisted with my financing and was also friendly and quick. I appreciated both of them staying past business hours to get me into a bigger and better vehicle.

I came in to drop off my 2020 Silverado 1500 Custom for service and in the meantime I went to the front to look at vehicles to pass time. While outside I was greeted by Eric whom turned out to be the best, most personable salesman Ive dealt with thus far. He was not pushy at all. I ended up seeing a 2021 Silverado 1500 Z71 on the lot and fell in love with it. I told him that I wanted it and before my vehicle could even get out of the service department, it was traded in for the 2021. Eric made sure the process was smooth and quick because I was on a time crunch. Lambo whom is the finance specialist was great to deal with as well and had me in and out in no time. Overall it was a very good experience and I will continue to use Jim Hudsin Chevrolet!
Returning home from a quick beach trip, with little warning, we received a low pressure indicator on one of the tires on my wifes Traverse. I pulled over on the side of I-20.While changing the tire, I asked my wife to Google nearby tire shops. Not satisfied with the results, I asked her to Google nearby Chevrolet dealerships. Jim Hudson Chevrolet was just over 8 miles ahead.After getting the spare tire on the car, with hazard lights flashing, we made our way to Clemson Road and Jim Hudson Chevrolet.As soon as we pulled in to the service department, we were promptly greeted by service advisor Ben Brooks. As Ben asked what he could help us with, he noticed the spare tire.I explained the situation, and he invited us inside. He made sure the tire was in stock, and I told him that the treadwear on the three remaining would indicate replacement in the not-too-distant future, and after measuring the tread himself, he agreed. He checked to see if a set of four tires was available, and we were in luck. He said he would get the car in the back immediately and that we should be back on the road in an hour-and-a-half.While in the waiting room, EVERY employee greeted us and asked if there was anything they could do while we waited.Within an hour-and-a-half, Ben let us know that the car was ready, that the spare tire had been put back in its original location, and that we were set to go.As we checked out, I thanked Ben for his kindness and professionalism and for the kindness and professionalism of all of the Jim Hudson staff members we encountered and let him know that had this situation happened near our home dealership, we would have been treated very differently -- as an inconvenience.The staff at Jim Hudson Chevrolet treated us as long-time customers they were glad to see and that they were happy to have our business, and we were glad they were the ones there to help us on a rough afternoon.Thanks to Ben and everyone we encountered at Jim Hudson Chevrolet.

This past Saturday, I took my Equinox in for a scheduled maintenance. They were on schedule and completed the work without trying to force me to add on additional services. They actually finished 20 minutes before expected. The waiting area was clean. The staff were polite and respectful.

**I write reviews only when I feel it is important to write one for the sake of praising the person who assisted in such matters.On the week of January 11, 2021, my daughters truck was towed to the Chevy facility. Karl was the advisor on the first day but then tall Jack took over because Karl was on leave on the next day. Since I was the responsible person paying for the repairs tall Jack communicated with me the whole time. This guy is phenomenal! Mr. Hudson, I promise your people who assisted in this process are truly assets to your company ESPECIALLY tall Jack. I am very particular when it comes to customer service. Tall Jack went ABOVE AND BEYOND his duties to ensure we were going to leave there happy and convinced that your company hired trustworthy folks. They refused to honor the GM Military discount because I know I can sell the truck without it. This was after the salesman had me take the time to get an authorization letter for the pricing. I expected better from a dealership that flys a huge American flag above and has veteran parking spaces. Apparently its just another tactic. Their sales style is stereotypical used car salesman.

I have never went in to a dealership that treats you with dignity and respect. The Salesman that I had Brandon Stewart, was so polite. He listened to what we wanted, and never did he try to convince us to look at other vehicles he knew we weren’t interested in. The finance department will try everything they can to get you into a car that you want. Our experience was so good that we ended up leaving with 2 brand new cars that night. My daughter got her 1st car at 17, and I got a new birthday SUV. Brandon will treat you like family, and even if you don’t buy one that day, the next time he sees you he will treat you the same! I would definitely recommend this place and ask for Brandon Stewart!
Tough start at first that wasnt the dealership fault. Shoutout to Karl Brooks for the great service!!! My front end is making a little noise but Im assuming it has to get used to the part. Otherwise since they did so good Ill have them check that as well. Other than that my service was OUTSTANDING once it was done. GREAT JOB!!!!

Their service department is horrible. My car got towed for service and I never received an update. They have notes in the system saying someone called me and I never received a call or a message. I went a month ago and someone was supposed be order a part to service my car, they have no record of that. So now I’m going to have to start going to another dealership across town because service department is horrible. Don’t trust them, they lie too much. They’ll probably mess up your vehicle and say it’s you because they lie so much.
Overall my experience was fantastic! I was traveling from out of state and wanted to finalize the details prior to my arrival! I worked with Niquan over the phone, they gave me a better than fair value for my trade in and worked with me to bring the Tahoe to my price range. From phone conversations to my arrival to the finance department, Jim Hudson Chevy was great! I drove away in my brand new Tahoe thrilled with the entire experience. Give Niquan a call for 5 star experience!
Traded a car in on 2016 jeep wrangler saturday late. Noticed the check engine light came on. Took jeep back Tuesday and said it wasnt gonna work out and the check engine light was on . I understand we signed papers and the dealership has no legal obligations to take the jeep back and return car traded in . We at least thought they would make it right by looking at jeep considering it had been only 3 days . Nope they just said it was not on when it was on the lot and laughed . Said we could pay for service to look at it . We were Referred to this dealership because they were suppose to have awesome customer service. Buyers beware !!!!! They have refused to make it right !!!! Lesson learned !!!!

I had a great experience at Jim Hudson Chevrolet when I took my Silverado in for a recall issue and to get the tires rotated. Ben handled things quickly and professionally. I asked them to check a slow leak on one tire and they couldnt find a nail in the tire but took it off the rim, cleaned it and reinstalled -- for no extra charge. It was ony $24.95 plus tax for the rotation. They also reassigned the tire pressure sensors after rotating. The well-known local tire dealer I had been using for years prior to this would only do this for a $50 charge, primpting me to buy my own TPS tool off Amazon. But I didnt have to worry about it at Jim Hudson. They also included a note on the receipt to tell me where the tire had been moved so I could keep an eye on the pressure. I will go back for my next rotation or when I need work, for sure.
Legitimately one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a dealership. They gave me an appointment and told me everything would be ready when I arrived. I drove over an hour and then sent to another dealership just to find out the car had been claimed by another. My salesman was great. The sales managers at both locations were less than helpful and obviously could care less about me or my business.

This was by far the best car buying experience yet. The commercials don’t do it justice. Devante Evans was great. If there was anything he wasn’t sure about he knew where to go to get us the information. The management staff was a great reflection of the Hudson family. They were straight forward and went above and beyond to get our business. We wanted to buy local and thanks to them we were able to do just that. We will be going back to upgrade my wife’s car within the year as well!

Amazing, phenomenal, and spectacular are only a few words that describe our purchase at Jim Hudson Chevrolet. They were caring, respectful, and VERY professional to my wife and I during the purchase of our new 2021 Suburban. They worked very hard to present us with a fair price point and made sure we were able to get any offer available to us... which they informed me of a military discount with out asking for it.Additionally, the day after the sale of our vehicle, they called us and told us of a recall concern they had and would like to schedule a time to pickup the vehicle to have the airbag recall fixed. David our sales representative drove down to our house with a rental for us to use, drove our car back to their dealership to be fixed, and then returned it before the end of that same day. I recently had an unusually odd problem with one of my cars (Malibu). From the start no one could figure out what was going on. I was in disbelief to be quite frank. I kept my cool and trusted the people at Jim Hudson Chevrolet to find the problem. My instincts were right on! I picked up my car today and it runs like nothing was ever wrong. Like brand new! I cant say loud enough how proud Jim Hudson should be to have these individuals on his team representing a great dealership. Buying the vehicle was good but not a week after buying it. It broke down 30 miles from home luckily my husband was with me . We had to get it towed . And then find a ride home . We called and talked to the used car manager when we knew what it was he said he would pay for the part and never did I dont like when people dont keep their word I give my experience with the used car manager a BIG THUMBS DOWN we will never drive a hundred and fifty miles to by a car from them ever again. It took forever to get our paperwork and registration done we had to keep calling and get the run around . We are very unhappy truck buyers from Fayetteville NC
The reason for a middle star is I brought my truck in on 04/29/2021 for a oil service and tire rotation I also wanted the premium cleaning service which included everything. The vehicle was at Jim Hudson for almost four hours. I had a meeting to attend so I paid and rushed off to my suprise when I saw how dirty the truck over the rear wheels was like never been touched. I found other spots. I had to leave work again to take it back because the cost was $179.00 for premium. I get here and Zach had to get service manager to look over it his name was mike All mike would say ok do u want to leave or stay for it to be redone I asked how about remove some of the charge since I had to come back and take more time off from work. All I got was have a seat in waiting room and they will see what they can do. I would not have been upset if it was a 29 dollar clean but it wasn’t I just feel the wash person failed to do their job and I know my service guy is busy but work needs to check before sending a bill. I even called twice to serve guy and got voice mail and when I drove back from downtown he was sitting at computer with no customers. I see what services they have now and this maybe last time I use them. I just didn’t feel that warm customer service I thought I would expect but I guess it’s the way Jim Hudson is

Brought our car to Jim Hudson Chevrolet in Columbia SC. For power steering issues. They talked me into fixing 2000 dollars worth of things during my travel from Florida to pa. We were forced to leave our car in sc for the last week. Was told by rep it would be done on weds so we drove out 8 hrs away on weds stayed in local hotel and Thursday when going to get the car was told our service rep wasn’t in called all morning transfer from receptionist 10 times but no one answered until 11 am. After I demanded she get me in touch with someone so we could get our car and head back to pa. Just to find out our rep was off and our car wasn’t finished after driving 8 hrs and staying in hotel. Said they were scratching their heads and didn’t know what was wrong. Told us to go home because it could be a few more days. That whole next day didn’t even get an update from them after asking 10 times to keep me in the loop. Finally after waiting that whole day and the next morning waiting for an update I reached out they said they got 2 faulty steering motors and the third one was the charm but I believe they didn’t want to recoup the cost of the motor since they fixed the wrong part. Now they are charging me for it again. I give this place a BIG THUMBS DOWN. It took over a week for them to figure out and diagnose the problem. And I didn’t even receive a call to tell me what the end result was just a text saying cars ready and I owe another 1000 dollars! Worst service ever in my life. No one go here. They are trying to upswell something serious.
This place deserves so much more than 5 stars.If you’re looking to buy a car from here, I highly recommend asking for Calvin. He was fast, efficient and informative. He treated me with the utmost respect, and managed to find the exact car I was looking for in a price range that I could afford.Everyone else there is also super friendly and worked hard to get me the best deal. Truly the best dealership one could find.
The worst experiment I had at Jim Hudson turned out to be a pleasant one thanks to Lambert Borgardt and Rickie Ward. They really went out their way and beyond to correct a bad situation. They eventually won me over. If Im ever in the business of buying another vehicle they definitely will be getting my business. Reach out to them and yall want be disappointed if yall need a car!! They definitely deserve 5 stars and more if I could.
Karl Brooks is the best Service Advisor at Jim Hudson. AnswerAll question that ask of him and believe in getting the job done i’ve been coming there for six months got all kinds of answer the same question and I went in to Mr Karl Brooks and got my problem resolved I went to everybody else in there before I came to him and they gave me all kinds of answers he did not stop into the problem got it resolved if I had it my way I will give that man definitely a raise

I appreciate it!I am completely dissatisfied with the service I received at Jim Hudson Chevrolet. On Monday at 8 in the morning, I brought my Tahoe in to diagnose suspension problems. I did not receive an update on the status until 4:57 pm. Because it took so long without prior warning, I could not get a rental car anymore. The next day, I arrived at Jim Hudson Chevrolet around 10:30 am. I asked the service writer, if he got me a rental car. His response was, he has not reached out to the warranty company yet. Then he told me he would do it today, and I will have a rental car the same day. I called around 4 pm asking for the status, he said it has not been done yet, because he was occupied with other customers. I had to return to the dealership, this is when he called the warranty company to get me a rental car. By this time, it was almost 5 pm and too late to get a rental. This means that two full business days of my time were wasted, and on top of that I had to babysit the service writer to do his job. Now I am inconvenienced trying to pick up the rental car on the third day, what should have been done the first day, when I brought my car in.
I worked with Tim Sexton all the way from Augusta GA and he was very quick to communicate back and fourth with me up to my meeting him in Columbia. He saved the car for me which I was very thankful for. He gave me such a great deal on my Traverse and set us up quickly. He was friendly yet professional. I appreciated his loyalty and attention to me like I was all that was important at that time. I highly recommend seeking him out if you are looking for a great deal and exceptional service. They have somewhat fair prices online, but good luck getting them to honor them. They insist that the prices online include lots of rebates no one person will ever qualify for (such as trading in a Chevrolet you own AND coming off the lease of a Chevrolet).... This is BS as the discounts on the website are labeled as manufacturers rebate and dealership rebate only. Not sure if this kind of false advertising is legal as other websites in this state and others list out these rebates in a breakdown when you look at them online. Stivers will just insist they cant honor their own prices.I ended up having to take their ad to another Chevrolet dealership and having it price matched there.Edit:. Copy/pasting a generic reply to any negative review is pretty tacky, especially when said reply requests that I take time out of my day to help your business address its own issues. As I said, I already price matched the ad at another dealer. I have my vehicle. There is nothing left to offer me now, and I have no interest wasting my time on the phone to donate free help to those who wouldnt work with me. I also told your salesman when he called me back almost a week after I walked out, trying to tell me my vehicle was still here waiting for me..... No thanks. Its too late now.

Joe Roberts was our salesman and I must say the quality of his service is nothing less than excellent. The cars are clean the facility is pristine and the sales staff is courteous without making you feel rushed or pressured. Although the sales manager was unable to give us an agreeable price I would definitely recommend shopping at this location.

Stivers is a crocked dealership DO NOT BUY any trucks from them every single 2500 Silverado truck on their lot is full of rust. I bought a 2018 2500 Silverado High Country with 11 miles on it just to find nothing but rust on the undercarriage when placing mud flaps on my truck. I took it in to them and was told this was normal and nothing was going to be done about it. No vehicle should come off a lot with rust the way this one is. I went to both Loves and Herndon Chevrolet and none of their 2500 Siverados had rust on them. After taking it to a third party mechanic I was told were they saw parts replaced just to make a sale and this is not normal. General Motors contacted their district manager who again assured them that this was normal. Please dont get robbed by them as I did. Now Im stuck paying for a rusted vehicle that will not last down the road.

I own a body shop, and we sent a truck to your Chevrolet dealership pn Monday, April 19th to have the steering angle sensor programmed. Zack called the following day to tell me it was ready. We sent a wrecker over to pick it up on Tuesday, and the truck still had multiple lights on the dash one which was related to the steering. We left the truck and the wrecker driver told the service dept, not sure who, that we needed all the lights on the dash cleared. On Thursday, Zack called to find out why we left the truck, and I told them we needed all the lights cleared. He said well you only said to reprogram sensor. I assumed if the lights didnt clear after reprogramming, they would have called to ask what we wanted to do. I told Zack, I guess I shouldnt assume. The next time I heard from Zack in your service dept was the following Tuesday. He said the truck should be ready that afternoon, and he would call me when it was. I never heard back from him so I called 2 times on Wednesday with no return call. On Thursday, I called 3 times which you can verify with the lady that answers the phone for the service dept. I left messages on Zacks voicemail twice, and one message with the lady that answers the phone to have anyone call me back with a status on the truck. Again no return phone calls. Friday morning at 7:45 am, I called and the lady the lady answered again. She said Zack wasnt in. I told her he didnt return calls anyway and neither did anyone else. I told her I wasnt getting off the phone until I knew the status of the truck. She put me on hold and found out the truck was ready. I asked her how much it was since I had to send a check with the wrecker to pick it up. She said she didnt know. So, besides Zack, or anyone else in your service dept not returning calls, you missed an opportunity to upsell more services, and you made me not want to send you anymore business. I hope you will provide this feedback to your service department so they can learn from this in order to provide a better service experience for your future customers.
