I have been going to Peace Nook for many years, and it never ceases to put a smile on my face. The employees are always so sweet and helpful, and the atmosphere is unlike any other! It doesnt feel elitist like other organic and metaphysical shops do. This place has so much character from the locally painted stairway to the large array of books covering the walls. If you need somewhere to shop and read without judgement, this is absolutely the place for you.

Ive always loved this place! Been coming here for years and I always find something perfect for me. A bag, a book, a shirt, whatever. I really love their childrens book selections. They have some really beautiful books there, not just the run of the mill books. The staff here has always been nice and pretty knowledgeable about their products.

Came in with my husband for a singing bowl, and found one $49 it was pretty rough around the edges but it was cool. Products on the shelves don’t have prices, super annoying. The vibe I really didn’t like, I could have gotten the same bowl off amazon for cheaper but I at least try to support small businesses. Don’t think I’ll be back again but I did give this place a try.

Love the Nook, when you go in be wearing your mask and prepare for hand sanitizer. If your looking for something unique for that one family member or friend who likes natural things or a book a little off the grid, (not one you can find for sale at walmart or target) or even for the free thinker looking for a good read go to the Nook.

Wonderful store, friendly people! Books, fair trade merchandise, clothing, t-shirts, calendars, magazines. You can browse for hours and find any number of unique gift items that youll never find elsewhere in town.I noticed that one post mentions that the store treats people as criminals. Now that is an absurd statement. There are signs to discourage shop lifting -- unfortunately necessary. This is a volunteer powered, not-for-profit store that has operated in this location for more than 30 years. Light fingers cut deeply into its bottom line and take money from its many worthy community pursuits. No one is treated as a criminal. And thinking that a few signs do only reveals an extremely thin skin. Or guilty conscience.

This nonprofit bookshop is a gem! This is where you can find books from smaller independent press, adult coloring books honoring womans sacred parts, GLBT topics of interest, composting, urban gardening, nuclear proliferation, social justice, etc. Then theres everything else... Jewelry, prayer flags, peace flags, earth flags, clothing, organic feminine care products, henna, Dr. Bronners, a huge variety of teas, incense, chocolate, and so much more.Chat with a volunteer about whatever, learn something, meet people and find something unique. Whats not to love? So, when you are just itching to spend money, spend it here. When you want to buy a book, buy it at Peace Nook. You get what you want and you support the cause (peace works).

My whole life I have been using henna for keeping my hair strong and give them a bit of touch color. Last year, I bought a chestnut color henna for my hair from peace nook and as a result I got an uncomprehending result! My hair is light brown naturally colored at the end as blond. All the ends got green after this henna.. The problem was that I couldnt get rid of the green ends, so after trying and re trying different remedies, I ended up cutting up my hair :(I realize that this place has more products to offer, but I would recommend never ever buying their natural-organic henna for your hair.Unless you dont need you hair. In that case, you can buy it.
