Great place!! Like a cross between a Books-A-Million and a McKays used books (that we have in TN.) Lots of new books, used books, and fun gifts and collectables. You cant just drop off books to sell, it takes a few hours and they like you to do the process in one day (which is the same as McKays.) I didnt have that much time, so I dumped some decent books in the free bin outside instead.

I came here based on a recommendation from a Best Buy employee. I needed a power cord for an original Super Nintendo and they had one! This store caught me by surprise, they have a little bit of everything. Old school video games, guitars hanging on the wall, lots of books. I could have spent a lot more time here looking at everything they have on their shelved, but my kid was really excited to go back home to play the Nintendo. We definitely plan on coming back.

Very eclectic store with taste for anime fans, old game fans, comic book fans, or book enthusiasts. If you have never been here, I recommend that you come and check it out. On a personal note, I will say that the trade in offers that they have are not the best deals around. Unless you want to offload some games or movies you don’t want, I wouldn’t recommend never trading in here for store credit or cash. I love the store overall though!

Terrible experience at this location. I purchased clearance items that were buy one get one free. I noticed that I did not receive the advertised deal after leaving the store and reviewing the receipt. The next day I returned all purchased items. I received a full refund. I have received this experience at more than one 2nd and Charles location. I will not shop at any 2nd and Charles after this terrible experience. I do not recommend shopping at any 2nd and Charles location.

Normally love this place. However, today, 9-4-21 between 1 & 3pm the red head cashier was quite rude. Heres the deal, I clear 8000$ after taxes a month. Dont treat people like bums because their children took the day off from dressing well. For someone in your position, you might not want to be so judging.

I was pleasantly surprised at all the wonderful things they sell inside this store. My friend told me to check them out. Books. Albums, CDs, Comic books, Action Figures, Amine, Games. They sell, buy,and trade here too. The staff working here were very friendly and knowledgeable. Very unique store to explore and check out. You wont be disappointed.🥰👌👌👌😁👍👍👍👍🥰

Wiccan accessories, must go quick hard to find the right things you need at times, they usually have them stocked up by a couple weeks. Vast amount of collectibles and little hobbiest items one could use with their hobby. Just so much going on.

These stores are typically always wonderful. This location in particular has a nice staff and plenty of goodies. Will say the prices on electronics are high compared to other places. The store can sometimes be just a tad bit messy too but they are very busy. It a great weekend spot to to spend an hour or so.

Its no McKays (West Knoxville). Store needs to be bigger, with tons more selections In movies, vinyl, CDs, books etc and better prices.

Great products but the buy back program needs better explanation to customers, orders should be processed in the order they are received and a longer pickup time for items not bought back.

Always fun coming here to see what gems I can find. They have a great collection, although can sometimes be hard to locate in the vast collection which they have.Although the staff are awesome and are more than willing to help you.

I came to buy comics for my friend for Christmas; I was surprised at how many other things were in the store. Really liked that they had t-shirts and other novelty items, will be back again!

This place is fantastic. Everything from the items they offer to the customer service, everything is top notch.They have a little bit of everything. Books and movies of all kinds. Games for family fun or for the kids. Musical instruments, music, manga. I recommend this gem to everyone as there is a good chance there will be something there for you or a loved one.

A great place for retro gamers, fantasy nerds, and book readers. I make a trip from Charleston just to enjoy retro game culture in Columbia. Software Seconds is my other favorite. Both are always worth the drive

This place is great, it has a ton of interesting books of various genre and formats, as well as other items like music, geeky merchandise, old action figures and video game systems, and other such things. Definitely drop by and have a look if youre in the area and like that sort of thing.

AWESOME!!! I cant believe I have lived right down the street from this place for 8 months and I just walked in there today!! Great selection of books, novelties, music, and movies. Spent an hour in there and nearly $100. I cant wait until Christmas, I will be back!

For anyone looking for employment with this location, I would read this experience first. Its a little lengthy but it says magnitudes about the professionalism of their management team:The store manager pushed to get me into the location as soon as possible for this interview, which because of the pandemic, I was more than happy to come in on a Sunday as I am looking to start work immediately.The interview process seemed very non professional, almost as if she did not wish to have me there nor was interested in potentially bringing me on. I have extensive management experience, in both restaurants and retail. She had a copy of my resume on hand but her initial statement was that I had no sales or retail experience.She then asked what I would see myself doing in the next five years. My answer to this question was personal, not professional, as I felt that 2nd and Charles was a company that encouraged their employees to be themselves. I said that I had worked for years in companies where competition and chasing promotions was all anyone wanted to do and that in the next five years, I really wanted to find a job where I was happy and able to spend time at home with my family.Following this answer, she said I was unmotivated to further my position with this company and offered a part time position making $8/hour and then asked if I would consider becoming a line cook or returning to school.At this point during our interview, it felt as if someone from her corporate office or a recruiter had pulled my resume. I was not her pick for an interview and she had no interest in discussing the position. Every answer I gave was wrong.Again, I am sending this (and considering posting it on their review page) in hopes that someone can address this interview style with the manager in question. She never introduced herself so I didnt catch her name (maybe Shannon?). I sincerely hope no one else undergoes the same treatment from this store manager that I did.

I took 19 books in to sell. One hardcover they wouldnt take because it didnt have a jacket. Whatever. So that left 2 hardcover and the rest were paperback with 10 of them being from their store and the others were new books, being read just once. Received $3.20 in cash or $5.95 in store credit. That is a bit ridiculous. Those new books are worth more then that. Wont be getting my business anymore.

Pretty good place for used items. Wish they had a database the customers could access instead of having to go to someone every time. Sometimes, I just want to browse a genre, but not sure of the author or title and since not everything is alphabetized, it makes it difficult to find most titles.Prices are decent for most things, though.

I love this place a HUGE selection of books, music, media, toys. A little bit of everything. The prices are reasonable. It just a fun place to find a good read, order up a nice coffee or drink and a snack and chill out and get comfy in one of their reading chairs. Everything is so organized and clean. Love it.
