Hey all if you are in need of some tire work in the Columbia area then check out McKnight Tire and Auto. A family owned business that understands customer service and are willing to help out. Our church bus (with 24 kids on it) had a flat tire and we had a spare but no one else (PLAZA TIRE) would help. Matt and the crew stepped up and did the work plus we were in and out in 10 minutes. Amazing people.
They are always super friendly and fast. The guys are very knowledgeable about their stuff. I have gotten my van personally worked on/ and checked here on three different occasions and have began to build s good report with the gentlemen working the front counter. McKnight tire has made time(even last minute) to check out my tires, give a fair estimate, and even worked with me financially once to help me keep the total cost within my budget. This is definitely my go to here in Columbia!
These guys were great with my 23 year old son... Took the time to look at his needs for his truck and walked him through the process with amazing patience and humor...
No one else had a trailer tire I was looking for. M night not only had it at their warehouse they got me in, got it mounted and back to me while I waited. It was quick!
Traveling thru after purchasing a used truck and they were able to get the truck in replace all six tires. Matt was more than helpful and willing to get me in and out so I could finish my travels back to Indiana. Remind you I showed up 45 mins befor close!
McKnight tire know their job, and did a great job. With kindness and patience... Behind their skills and abilities. Which makes a world of difference.
Very prompt and courteous service.
Great place! Super helpful and the new owner seems to be very involved in making sure the customers get what they want.
McKnight does good, honest work on my Mercury after it failed inspection. However, parts arrived late and work was delayed.
These guys are awesome! Ive been going for years and theyve never let me down.
Excellent service my family has been going to them as long as I remember at times things can be a bit slow but to me its understandable due to the great work they do I would rather that than fast and reckless and have always been absolutely frank with me
Great prices and great staff!
Jacob was professional and helpful in getting us back on track for vacation. We were only 5 hours into a 22 hour drive when a tire went bad. They were very busy and late in the day but worked us in to get a tire mounted. Two other employees were also polite and helpful.Thank you, Rich
Unknowledgeable staff. Didnt do work that was required while changing tires.
The best shop in Central Missouri!
Very knowledgeable and helpful. You know what your going to pay up front. We all know vehicle repairs are scary and a black hole for cost. Here at Mckinight they were up front on repair cost and gave me an estimate on anything else that needed to be done so I could make the decision and timing on the repairs. I highly recommend McKnight Tire. Give them call for your vehicle repairs
McKight Tire in Columbia has earned future business for sure. After checking with other local tire businesses in the area only to find out they couldn’t get my vehicle in for several hours to repair a tire with a nail in it, I stopped at McKnight. They were VERY personable and worked me in. This was a huge blessing as I needed the vehicle to be a reliable mode of transportation that day. Then, in my rush I told them the wrong tire/wheel so they wasted some of their valuable time trying to find a nail in a tire that didn’t have an issue. They ended up fixing my tire and getting me back on the road ASAP. Great customer oriented business and I WILL be back. Thanks McKnight and sorry again about being a bonehead and telling you the wrong tire... ;-)
Professional staff, Matt’s always great to work with.
Best place to buy new tires in Como
I always have great service and staff is very friendly. I use them for my personal vehicles and my business fleet.
They are a wonderfulteam!
Brought Carry in new tires. Called ahead and Asked for a time to bring in a 2014 F150. Told me come in right away for a 1pm. Took 3 hours to mount and ballance 4 tires and an Alignment. I can see 2 hrs if your busy but 3 hours of sitting there waiting for it!? Come on!
They helped us out really quick when we had a bad experience with Big O tire. Very friendly.
Matt is the guy that will go the extra mile to get you back on the road. He provides excellent customer service. Came in without an appointment on the last day of the month and still got timely service and 4 new tires with promotional pricing.
I highly recommend this company. Great friendly customer service. Excellent work.
Service is excellent. They take appointments. And they have great prices on most major tire brands.
No words can describe how much I appreciate these guys. They went far over and above for us. Highly recommend!
Excellent service, wide variety of tires and rims. Top notch mechanics on duty all the time. Superb alignment specialist on duty that has years of experience. Some of the best tires available in the Columbia area for every type of vehicle. Awesome counter service and estimates.
Very friendly professional service! Would definitely recommend.
They greeted me when I came in the door. They provided an estimate for how long it would take them to inspect my vehicle, and it was done within that time. They even aired up a tire that was going flat without mentioning it or the fact that my car was a message (on the inside). Im always suspicious of mechanics, Ive been taken advantage of by a couple of local shops in Columbia. I didnt have any real work done here, but Id be willing to give them a chance when the need arises. They seem like good people.
I have been taking my truck to McKnight for almost a quarter-century. Its been quite simple: something is wrong, they find and fix it, and it costs less than I am expecting. Also, I am not one who is automotive-intelligent, and Ive not been deceived and often been enlightened by the McKnight team. Finally, the staff is exceptionally welcoming, efficient, and helpful; Ron, whom I consider the face of McKnight, seems to have been there as long as Ive been dropping my vehicle off there, and always makes sure I know what I need to know and have what I need to have. Im happy to have relied on this family-owned business, and I recommend it to anyone, especially those looking for a long-term shop.
Went in Friday afternoon with a serious front end wheel balance problem. The vehicle is a Sprinter 3500 which has a notoriously difficult reputation with front wheel balance. No less than 5 shops have tried to get rid of the problem, which creates a 1 shake in the steering wheel at 70 mph. It took them awhile, and it was busy but they actually got it done! More driving necessary to be sure, but a couple of different surfaces at 70mph, no shake. Heres the kicker. It was really inexpensive. Really. So much, that I left a tip for the pizza fund for the shop. They were nice to deal with and they have a large, comfy waiting room. No frills here, but the price tag doesnt reflect that either. These guys have my business from here forward!
Awesome as usual 👍 great service 🤝 and quick too ⏪🏃
Went in to get some tires put on my car. Arrived in the morning, they took me to work with their shuttle service. They were courteous, fast, and great to work with! I would happily purchase more from them! Ron at the front desk was excellent and conveyed every problem in an easy way so I fully understood what needed to be done! They suggested I get my oil changed and make them the one stop shop, and I will definitely be taking them up on that offer!
I went into McKnight today for a front-end alignment. They told me Id need a new ball joint before they could do an alignment, so like an idiot, I took them for their word. Im more leery of mechanics than anyone else in the world, but they really scared me; I was told stone-faced that my wheel was about to fall off. Come to find out after looking at an old receipt, thats the exact same repair I got 2 or 3 weeks ago from my trusted mechanic of years. Yes I shouldve known better and have beat myself up for the stupid mistake, but I wanted to send out this warning to anyone else who doesnt know much about cars and is therefore a target for the liars at McKnight. They WILL take you for all youre worth. Its also worth noting that the woman who drove me to and from work told me a story in the car about how the mechanics at McKnight worked on her car only for it to come out making a really loud sound. She was told everything is tight - it just makes a noise. Its not a problem. Wow. She even works there and they treated her like an idiot. I definitely wont be taking my car back. In the meantime, excuse me while I go lick the wounds that unnecessarily cost me hundreds of dollars….
Been helped here for years. Wouldnt think to take my car anywhere else. Extremely fair/fast. Truly cannot recommend highly enough.
I ran over a tire on the interstate just east of Columbia. Pulled off in Columbia to have it looked at before continuing my drive home (which was another five hours later). I found McKnight and am *so* glad I did.I told them my situation and they were fantastic. It would not have been hard to try and take advantage of me, given the situation I was in, but they were honest and helpful throughout. They said that it was probably an exhaust issue and they couldnt fix it till Monday, but that theyd be happy to just hoist it up and look at it for me, and saidThey put it up on the lift, looked at it, showed me everything that was wrong, and told me, knowing I wouldnt be getting it fixed there, what theyd charge to fix it. And when I asked them what I owed them, they said I didnt owe them a thing. Just come back and see us next time youre in Columbia, they said. Fantastic people. I cant comment on the quality of their work since they didnt work on my car, but if they are as conscientious in their work as they are honest, I imagine their amongst the best in central Missouri.
Fixed my Tahoe, with 250,000 miles on it, and it still runs like a sewing machine. Fair price, great work. Then I needed some exhaust work done on my old vintage collector car, and they turned down my business, and sent me to another guy that used to work for them, because they thought he would do a better job. Turned down business, put me and what I needed first. Cant get more honest than that!
Incredible service. They gave me a ride while working on my car, took it to the car wash after they were done, and were incredibly pleasant and friendly the entire time. Not to mention, my car worked great after I got it back!
Was in there for a state inspection and while having it done they found that I needed a tire and stabilizing link that was broke. They had me in and out in a hour and a half and the customer service was outstanding. Glad they found it cause went to my regular place for oil change and check up and was told all was fine makes me second guess my regular place. So Ill be back for sure thank you for your time and help.
Very quick and professional!! We stopped on our way home because a camper tire was wearing bad. They changed the tires, gave us some good points to check, and sent us our way with in an hour. Great friendly service, even let the dogs hang out. Thanks
It was a very nice experience. The service man named Adam was polite and let me know everything going on with the vehicle. He made sure I was safe to drive. Thanks a lot Adam.
Wife took her Highlander in for new tires. The staff was friendly, waiting area was clean. She did have a problem with them resetting the TPMS. However the manager Jacob came out to her work which is close to 15 miles away and fixed it. So I can recommend them tires and service.
I would recommend having an appointment. I stopped in to have my leaky tire fixed and they said they could “get me right in.” 45 minutes later I was still waiting for my car was still in the parking lot. I was trying to give them my business instead of Walmart but I had better service at Walmart. I’m in the market for new tires too but they didn’t make a good first impression.
Most honest place Ive taken my vehicles to
While traveling through Missouri we had a tire go bad outside of Columbia. First off Ron @ the Providence Rd location was great over the phone and quickly got me a price for what we needed. When I arrived I didnt ask for any special treatment, but feel like we received just that. We got in and out very efficiently!!! I didnt catch our technicians name to mention him, but was very courteous when handing the vehicle back off to us. I do alot of my own work and feel that I may be a little harder to please because of that, but thanks McKnight Tire and great job!!!
Good place that knows what they are doing, highly recommend !
I went to get a flat tire and tire rods replaced. They had very reasonable prices for both (I called around to a few other places). In addition when they replaced my inner tire rod, something got messed up with the outer rod. They didnt know whether they caused it or it was that way previously so they replaced it free of charge. In addition, they have a free shuttle service so I can get where I need to go while my car is being repaired. I would definitely recommend McKnight Tires!
Great customer service. They know cars and they wont rip you off. I love this place.
Even tho I think their labor is pricey... It is always excellent customer service, quick service, and always take the extra effort for your safety
Great staff! They do their best to get you in and out as quickly as possible.
These guys always take care of us
These people are great! I had an issue and they pulled it off, Joe exceeded my expectations in terms of quality of repair, timeliness and all at a very fair price. Ill be back!
5 stars being very good honest helpful and courteous to customers and their needs.
Service is convienced with a complimentary basic report on your vehicles oil, brakes, etc. Its a bit pricy though if your trying to have anything looked at. All in all if you have the money they will get it done right here. They need to Maybe fix there parking lot though. Pot hole central.
Have never had a bad experience here. Always the utmost professional when I deal with them and super friendly. Wouldnt go anywhere else.
Super friendly staff. Got me in and out quickly.
Knowing that we were on vacation and time could not be wasted they took care of us. Fast, friendly, and professional.
They stripped our lug nuts when they were fixing a leaking valve stem and claimed they were already that way, but this was false. They then tried to have us come back in to have all of them replaced around the whole trailer possibly and do unnecessary work. They are crooked and I would not trust them to ever work on my vehicle or trailer again
We have them do our personal vehicles and out semi. We in the past 3 years have bought quite a few tires from them. Always had a great experience Jamie has always taken great care of us. Thanks Tracy Johnmeyer
Good honest service, friendly staff, the work is done quickly and correctly, and they even give you a ride home if you need it as opposed to waiting.
This was the last and worst experience with McKnight Tire. I will not be back after being a customer for over 5 years. I took a vehicle in with a slow leak. They took the tire off and basically refused to fix it. They said the tire would not hold air any longer and I would need to purchase new tires. I told them to put the tire back on and I wanted to get another opinion. The basically refused, saying it wouldnt hold air, that I could have a blowout at any minute. I finally talked them into putting the spare on. - This took over an hour.I went to a competitor - told them I needed them to look at a tire, but never told them a word about what I had been told. They pulled the nail out, fixed the tire and then I asked them about it continuing to hold air. The competitor got quite the laugh out of the garbage I had been told. They have done this over and over -- every time I have been there they have found the magic some-thing-else-needs to be fixed; including on a state inspection they failed, and another business checked the exact same things and passed.Sadly this has happened in the last year - they used to be much better. Use them at your own risk.
Horrible customer service and was told the inspection would be done between 10:30 and 11 on the phone and didnt end up leaving until 12:30 and the guy who helped me was rude. Wouldnt recommend it to anyone.
Very friendly and generally fast service. Rarely do they attempt to upsell unnecessary services, and I appreciate their awareness that I can complete some maintenence on my own. Have had very few problems in 8 years of service
Thank You good service and competitive pricing and friendly staff.
I had a few issues with how my cars have been serviced my McKnight recently. However, after a lengthy, but pleasant conversation with the manager, Derrick, I believe he does care about his customers as he wanted to make things right.THANK YOU
These guys are always fast and courteous they do a great job
Very nice people and their services are so fast.
Horrible experience. Weve had an appointment for an inspection on our class C camper for two weeks. Today was the day to take it in and were treated very poorly. Weve taken the camper here before for an inspection and at that time everything went fine. This time they acted like we never had an appointment and that they dont do inspections on campers. Between the rude comments, scoffing and eye rolling they did to us we decided to take our business elsewhere. They acted like we were the biggest inconvenience theyd ever encountered. There was no reason for that. There are plenty of other businesses in town that dont treat customers like trash.
Been going there for 45 years
The wait was very long just for a oil change remind you I been there since 8.50 got done at 10.30
Did an excellent job....had to have a tire changed on a RV... was at the RV Park within a half hour and did a fast, quick job.
My favorite tire shop for my 18 wheeler.
Always have a good day At McKnight Tire Helpful friendly always get you the best price on there best TIRES
Mcknight Tire in Columbia Rocks. I came from another state and these are the most honest folks to deal with that I have ever met and easy to deal.
After my favorite shop closed [Nitro Nics] and getting service I thought was shady and overpriced at Big O and Custom Complete, Ive been very happy with McKnight.Had several inspections there and tire work done and always been honest as can be. They are my shop for the time being.
Awesome service every time
My wife took my car to be inspected today, what a rip off! Never will I go back! They told her that the tie rod needed to be replaced, but I had it done a year ago for the last inspection. I had her take it to another shop and all that was wrong was a bolt had come loose. THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WOMEN!!!!!!!!!!! and screw people for their money.
Quick & Didnt nickle and dime you !!
They take good care of you.
Fair prices good service
Second appoitment here both times almost 30mins late. Just a warning
Not pleased with the customer service. It was totally nice how the two employees were getting pissy with eachother right in front of me. Employee grabbed the other employees paper out of his hand and slammed numbers into the computer after saying just give me that.I called two days ahead of time to schedule an appointment with them to get an estimate of dual exhaust. I asked if they messed with custom exhaust in which they replied yes. So I proceeded to ask if they would give me an estimate on running dual exhaust on my ZR2, in which they said they would gladly. I arrived and told them I had an appointment to get an estimate on dual exhaust, in which they said oh yes! I remember you, and my appointment was marked on the calendar with the note of dual exhaust estimate with my name. I was seated and about 30min later they came back out and told me my catalytic converter was broken and there was a broken weld underneath. He quoted me 300 bucks to fix the cat and 20 for the weld. I appreciate him telling me that requardelss that I was already aware, however I had told them 3 times that I was wanting an estimate for dual exhaust. I just decided to say not today and leave. Upon receiving my truck back the mechanic told me he would fix both the weld and the cat for 120 dollars. So um...which is it? Well, i bought a new muffler and had it welded on by an expensive shop for 130...so Im feeling a little scammed by the employee who quoted me 300.
Fast service always
Good service and friendly people.
Best place to get tires
Dont waste your time or money to receive the subpar service provided by the McKnight tire shop, I would recommend a more reliable tire shop in the Columbia area.
Went to get a tire repaired. Took a bit longer than I wanted, but thought the work was reasonable as well as the price.
Great place fast workers
Very rude manager never come back to this place anymore
Took my ram pick up in to have a tail pipe support bracket repaired. Couldve simply welded the original bracket, or put on a new one for under $10 but because I dont have a welder I took it to my trusted mechanic. He was booked up for about a week, and couldnt squeeze me in, but suggested mcnight tire. I took my truck in, told the guy exactly what I needed, had to wait an hour and a half for them to come back and tell me there is nothing to weld. After trying to explain once again to the simple minded grump behind the counter that all I needed was the tail pipe bracket repaired, he proceeded to tell me I need an all new muffler and new tail pipe. Shocked and confused looking and my almost $500 bill, for what shouldve been under $20, I said dont touch my truck and I will wait for my mechanic. After I demanded my truck back and got outside I saw that my tailpipe was now dragging on the ground! A mcnight tire mechanic had literally pulled on my tailpipe until it ripped from the muffler, and was dangling loosely around below the back tire. Absolutely outraged at the terrible customer service, and lack of knowledge here at mcnight! They will try and scam anyone who walks through that door, whether youre knowledgable or not. They literally tore a hole in my muffler and bent the tail pipe down in hopes Id spent almost $500 for all new. Absolutely ridiculous!!!And on top of all that, I now need my plates renewed and cannot pass a proper inspection due to all the damage mcnight tire did to my trucks exhaust system! I am absolutely outraged and will tell everyone I know to never bring their vehicle there.
I took my 1985 F150 here to have them check the u-joints. Not only did they not tell me whether or not they were bad, they called me and told me that my rear breaks were on backwards and my drive shaft was bent. Not only is this not true, they did not take the brakes apart to know whether or not the shoes were on backwards. I would never again take a vehical here to get any work, or even to be looked at. They will try to take advantage of anyone who they think doesnt know about cars.
Good service polite workers.
Friendly staff and very helpful.
Very good service.
Worst tire shop ever
Dishonest shady employees and extremely unfair prices. They will take advantage of you if you let them.
Very helpful staff!
Quick & reliable
Got my oil changed
