I wish I was not giving a one-star review. During my Thursday trip, most everyone at the store was very attentive and helpful. The store had a very large selection of accessories and firearms at reasonable prices and the ammunition I needed!!Im giving it a one star review because while I was looking for my next gun purchase, one employee started a fight with another employee screaming and yelling so loud that I could hear him on the complete opposite side of the store as I walked away from the unfolding scene. I believe the even worst part was both employees were helping customers with guns at the time. I feel bad for those customers because I was having such a good experience. This was very unsettling and extremely unprofessional to be happining at a firearms retailer. I hope to return to the store, but I will avoid those two employees involved.
Called ahead with questions about AR-15 parts, went in later and conveniently found the guy I spoke with on the phone, brought me to exactly where the parts were, let me ask him tons of questions, and when he wasnt sure and found out I had my AR on me, let me bring it in to make sure what I was buying was going to work. If youre in there give Josiah a shout if you need help he will take care of you for sure. He gave me great service!
Josiah helped me to make my first handgun purchase at this shop. He was beyond helpful. I was nervous because I don’t have great knowledge of guns and I’m a female, I wasn’t sure if I would be given the time of day. However, Josiah gave me all of his attention, answered every question I asked at length, and allowed me to handle as many guns as I pleased to find what would work for me. I spoke with other employees as well who were so friendly and helpful as well. I left with a new level of knowledge and confidence. I was glad to have spent my money at this shop. I’ll see y’all again soon!
Every time I come here I always get assisted right away by multiple people. The sales staff know their products and want you to get exactly what you want. They have had some ammo that no other fun stores in town have. This 5-star goes to all the employees, keep up the good work.
I went and asked about several different firearms. Chris took me around and showed me everything that I asked about, explained the posture of the industry and the store, and educated me on the differences between what was available and what I inquiring about. Eventually I was left to browse and decide. Multiple clerks including a couple of brothers attempted to assist me and made me feel welcomed to shop and browse. My targets set on a beautiful firearm, and SS&S was gracious throughout the transaction. I will absolutely purchase another firearm from here as well as countless accoutrement.
I bought my first pistol at Specialty Sports and everyone was so helpful and kind. Nobody treated me any differently because I am a young woman which isn’t always the case. It was a quick and easy experience and everyone treated me with respect and answered all of my questions without the “listen here little lady” attitude. Check out this place for great customer service and friendly people!
Great selection, hands down the best place to find parts for any build your working on. The problem is you cant look at anything because they will continue to ask you if you need help finding anything. No joke I was mid conversation and a worker came over and broke up the conversation by asking can I help you find anything?. I wanted to spend money but ended up just leaving after the 15th time I was asked.
Honestly, these guys are better than the big-box stores. They have a huge selection of all kinds of firearm products. They even carry some beautiful used or highly-collectible guns. Josiah, one of the gunsmiths, was very helpful when I brought in an old muzzleloader with some questions. They have ammo at fair prices & nearly every accessory you could need. The staff frequently offers help & will steer you in the right direction.
This place is just great. The customer service is 110% The prices are reasonable compared to surrounding stores. I asked a simple question to an older man at least 65 years old who worked there. God bless this man he spent the next 30 mins helping me look for a simple accessory in the store. He was getting down on his knees looking on the bottom of shelves for what I needed. I will come in to identify this man so that you can give him a substantial pay raise. God bless him. And thank all of you guys at the store!
I have gone here twice now and every time has been nothing but a great experience. The people that work there are very nice and knowledgeable and make you feel like your family. And prices are really good
Went in to see about a Browning O/U CXT. Was assisted by Harold… who couldn’t be more professional. Harold showed a few different options compared to the CXT… but I was sold on the CXT. Another gentleman walked me through the background check… no problem. I was very pleased with how professional everyone was from the people operating cash registers… but especially Harold. Great job..!! Thanks
I enjoy this store. Made a few purchases here, employees are friendly but not pushy. Great selection and reasonable prices considering how things are at the moment.
Great store, friendly staff. Great deals!
If you’re considering which gun shop to visit in Colorado Springs, this place should be your first stop. Employees were helpful, knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable and informed about my choice. Harold went above and beyond, loved my experience at this store!
The young lady working the cash register with the tattoos ( we cant remember her name ) was very personable and sweet to my wife and I. She answered all of the questions we had and didnt seem to mind us taking up her time. I really appreciate dealing with genuine people that dont seem to be in a terrible rush to get people through without answering questions for them. She deserves a raise.
This place was recommended to us from a friend and we are so glad it was. We have purchased several firearms and ammunition from here (we completely understand the ammunition limiting, and look forward to buying bulk when the shortage is over). The staff is amazing and very helpful, would like to give Josiah a shout-out for being extremely helpful and friendly.Highly recommend this place.
We came in and had the best experience thanks to Josiah who got me ammo for work my bf a riffle in our budget plus found me something I was not expecting to like that I am coming back for I would highly recommend this place and especially him!! He definitely made the whole experience that much better with how attentive and knowledgeable he was about what he was having us looks at based on our needs.
The store has changed greatly over the past few months, I decided to give them a second chance and they have done a complete 180. Since then I have purchased two firearms with and they have taken the time to fulfill my needs.
Best gun shop in the Springs hands down. Knowledgeable/friendly staff and fair prices. They have an insane amount of inventory with some specialty guns you just cant find at other shops. Some of these 1 star reviews made me chuckle. If youve worked in retail, you know who these people are. Lol.
A couple of know it all salesmen. Go in knowing what you want and take their advice with a grain of salt. That being said. Awesome store, inventory, prices. There are some VERY knowledgeable sales folk, and not everyone seems to have to be a know it all. I just happen to get one once in a while. Lol. I will purchase all my firearms from them. I have quite a few already from SS.
I have been here dozen times and consider that 13 times too many. I have purchased guns here at a higher cost to support local business. That has not been a positive experience. Great inventory here and that’s not cheap from a interest expense on the financial statements. Cut inventory and invest in professional sales staff.Bass Pro here I come. Cheaper price. Less hassle. Professional sales staff and I get my points!
Have bought almost every firearm I own from them. Today I went to buy 9mm ammo and was told I wasnt allowed to because my partner had already bought 2 boxes. Apparently I am not my own person. Apparently me having my own 9mm doesnt matter to these people. Cool way to support women and their 2nd amendment rights. After 10+yrs of being a faithful customer youll not get another cent from me. Tons of other gun stores to purchase from. FYI Acme Pawn and Sportsmans Warehouse are selling 9mm for half the damn price!PS to the owner responding to people, please look me up to make sure I have bought guns from you, I have every single receipt.
As a blackman when you wslk in the place you can feel that they do not want your business Ive only been there twice and each experience was the worst !!!!
Jeff was VERY kind at check out and told me to ask if I ever had any questions with my purchase or in general. This was my first purchase here and I’ll be back! Everyone there is knowledgeable and kind.
Please do some research and dont buy from this store. They are condescending and rude which adds injury to insult. EVERYTHING on the wall is overpriced and they know it. Atlanticfirearms.com has things almost $500 less. The red Zpap folding stock on the wall is more than $200 less than at Acme Super Pawn ir Shootin Den. Not to even mention a terrible 15% restocking fee they try to hide from the customers. As far as gun stores go, this is the bottom of the barrel.
This store was the best I’ve been to in the spring they have anything and everything AMAZING workers too they are all so knowledgeable of any of the weapons great place to go my number one pick from now on it’s worth the extra miles!.
Great customer service and professionalism. There was an older gentlemen that helped me out throughout my purchase and I just want to say thank you.
I have shopped here for years; however, their prices have really gone up with the fire arms and ammo demand, which began in 2016. This store typically has what the consumer wants and needs; however, they are “no longer” the best price in town (which they use to be). I have passed on my last three purchases with Specialty based on mark up.
I was in there the other day and I guess I failed my background check because of a ticket? Because of that I couldn’t get what I wanted which is fine. I’m mad because they failed to tell me they would take 15% of the price if I failed the background check!!
I arrived at Specialty Sports knowing exactly what I wanted to purchase. I was greeted by two female staff when I entered. I perceived that they wanted to resume the conversation they were having and I kept moving. I walked slowly past several staff that did not make eye contact when I passed and they seemed preoccupied with few or no customers present.James on the other hand noticed me and greeted me warmly. He answered all of my questions and looked for the items I requested. At no time was I pressured by James and he smiled throughout our interaction. This location needs a few more employees like James to really put this place on the map. The price for the items I purchased was reasonable for gun store mark up. I will definitely call and see if James is working prior to returning.
Wonderful store, wonderful people and an impressive selection. They wont rip you off, and they will treat you right, what more could I ask for.
Website is trash...... and not accepting transfers..... seems very Joe Biden of you.Response:My standards are far from lofty. With all your gun sales, I would only imagine you would hire a web designer. Don’t need to be a intellectual magnate to figure that out ;).Thank you for the invitation but I will pass. I’d like to see the cost of items on the World Wide Web prior to making a trip to limit my time in stores. Found what I needed at Springs Armory, check out their website, nothing lofty but effective.Have a blessed day.
Sales staff is great and friendly....... Kristen handled the final paper work and did so with an excellent and friendly attitude. Thanks to everyone there! Boople Snoot Galoot
I have been in several times over the past few months and every time I have been greeted by numerous staff. I really appreciate that everyone takes the time to talk to me and not around me to my husband. My questions are answered in a professional and patient manner. I have recommended this shop to several of my girlfriends as well as my daughters specifically for that reason. Nice to be acknowledged as an individual and not an extension of my spouse:)
Excellent service Purchased a S&W M&P15. it was missing a part from the factory whein i brought it back in they jumped on it immediately and repaired it at no cost.
BIve been shopping here throughout 3 elections. Theyve typically kept fair and industry accurate pricing. Having a great inventory selection brings in lots of potential buyers. However, since the pandemic, they have gotten greedy and heavily price gouged almost all of their current inventory. This led me to purchase the firearm i wanted from the manufacturer to have it sent here. Upon calling to let them know I should be receiving something I was treated extremely poorly on the phone. A man told me he didnt know what to tell me because I didnt have permission to do that. I explained to him this wasnt my first time and this is the federally approved method. He became even more rude and told me the owner can do whatever he wants. When I asked his name, he hung up on me.This can only be because they arent able to price gouge if you order direct. Theyre only able to charge a fee. Ive spent well over 10k in this store alone and referred countless people. To be treated in this manner as a customer is absolutely unacceptable.I was able to contact sig and have my firearm transferred to a store that wanted my business (SPRINGS ARMORY) Needless to say, Ill be doing all my firearm shopping somewhere else and never support the specialty thieves again. If youre going to price gouge and not actually care about your customers, at least do a better job of pretending like you do. Customer service here mustve died with covid.
Decided to swing by SS&S today to pick up a new AR. While the monstrous scale of the store is alluring, it was honestly the replies from the owner (to one star reviewing customers) that pulled me to the store. I can appreciate someone who’s not afraid to call it as they see it. Now for the store. For those concerned about the poor reviewers comments concerning rudeness or pushy sales folk, that did not exist. I think some folks confuse efficiency for rudeness. I walked in, and immediately had three sales reps greet me and ask if I needed any assistance. Settled a friendly bear of a man Sion or Zion ( I apologize I probably butchered your name), and told him I needed an AR. He immediately brought me to the displays **asked my price point** (didn’t just start shoving expensive rifles in my hands), and began explaining. Every rifle he handed me came with a full explanation detailing the rifle. To say he knew what he was talking about would be an understatement. He was patient with me, let me handle each and every rifle, then gave an honest answer when asked of three which one he would pick. After selecting my rifle I was brought to the front, and punched through the background process without any delay. The 15% restocking fee is a slight kick in the pants, but only if you ultimately opt out of your purchase upon approval. My recommendation is just don’t do that, and you’ve got nothing to worry about. I did read a review about a grumpy cashier, and I believe I met her today (Kristen). Again I believe people confuse efficiency with rudeness. While Kristen was not bubbling with joy for each and every customer, she was efficient and rang me up quickly. If you want bubbly, happy, carefree assistance then hit up a local family diner. This business is a well oiled machine and operates as such. These folks have a huge inventory (reduced for obvious reasons because of recent increases in sales), and have many customers in the store and any given time. I’d go so far as to say any poor reviews you may have read are from unsavory folks themselves, because each and every employee I saw or interacted with was top notch. They’ll have my business in the future for sure.Nykolys
Always very helpful and attentive.
They are getting 3 stars instead of 1, only because they had .556 at a fair price and most problems can be fixed by simple training of the staff. On the occasions I have been in, I was taken advantage of. Little John helped me with a purchase of a few pistols and told me and others with me, on multiple occasions (all in the same visit) that a box of rounds was included with each gun purchase. When I got to the counter, they informed me he was incorrect and I paid for them, which is fine; just be honest and aware of the weight words carry, especially when conducting business. Same day, they snuck in 2 boxes of rounds I did not ask for, in a caliber I dont even own. I realized when I got home, that I had indeed paid for those, too. John also treated my entire family with disrespect and only had short interest in our presence if we were going to purchase within the first 15 seconds of each gun we inquired about. Poor customer service.Ill return for little things, Im sure, but my future large purchases will most likely be with other establishments.Dont work with Little John in sales.
Ive been there 3 times the staff have been consistently present, available, patient and helpful. Imho a model of service that many stores should strive for.
I dont know man done a lot of business there and overall it can be good but sometimes ya got to pick your purchases carefully as any where else.if its an off day for them there might not get to do business at all.ya kind of have to pick sales rep your working with.if you go in with trade or for sale you may or may not have good experience.depends on which buyer there your dealing with.one may say yes one says no.i dont been shopping elsewhere lately.Arthur the manager is good guy.
Well I saw the reviews and figured they needed A little help. This shop by far hands down is the best place in Colorado to buy guns. I have always been treated with great customer service, I ask tons of questions and always get good knowledgeable answers. Thay have the largest inventory I know of and the prices for a store brick and mortar store are the best around. I will not hesitate to buy more firearms from Specialty Sports and recommend anyone to this shop.
They sound nice but they will not help you out and if you buy a gun there make really sure it’s what you want because if you happen to not be sure and get something you don’t like they will do absolutely nothing to help you out. I will never go back to this store
My son and I were in today looking to pick up some new cleaning kits for our guns. We were immediately greeted upon entering the store and pointed to the right spot to find exactly what we needed. After making our choices we headed up to the counter. The line wasnt too bad and the folks behind the counter seem to know what theyre doing. The young lady with long redish dark hair that helped us was quite cordial, asked us about our day and if we needed anything else. We conversed for a breif moment and I told her that I would love to have more people with the same attitude and professionalism at my work. Kuddos to the manager/owner for hiring great staff members and keeping a work ethic that shows from the moment you step in the building to the moment you leave. I will highly recommend this store to everyone I know.
If you decide to purchase from here ensure you get clear and CONCISE communication. Their clerk behind the counter did NOT make it clear that there is a restocking fee, after the 60 day hold that is what they clearly told me and here they charged me a 15% restocking fee and here we are 21 days from purchase.
Every time i visit the staff is friendly and very helpful an older gentleman helped me find specific holsters and even mags that match my new purchase. Prices are reasonable and all the accessories available too!
I was ready to buy a gun but the staff was so abrasive and rude. Side note, went to family firearms sales and they were way better in prices and how they treat you. Also they dont do blue label deal on glocks at specialty sports and supply for all you military guys.
If your looking for fair prices, a knowledgeable sales team and an owner/other staff that can help out in real time then choose Specialty Sports & Supply. Im am very confused why there is any negitive reviews about this store. I guess you just cant make everyone happy. But for those who are reading this know that you wont be disappointed by making your next purchase with them. Plus they may have a limit to how much ammo you can buy a person per household as of right now. But I am very appreciative of this cause they seem to always have supply for me and know its not always going to be this way. Shout out to John and Alex for providing me with excellent service and great products. And just a word from my opinionated mouth, Lets all learn to be more thankful and understand that especially now, we all are in this together and should treat others the way we wish to be treatedCheers!
Prices are competitive on most items. Dont listen to reviewers. Springs armory is outrageous with pricing. This ia a big 1 owner store. Understand who youre buying from before walking into it. Love this place. My wife and boys visit often. Have bought a bullpup shotgun from them and it is great. The people here besides one lady at the front are always super nice and helpful. Love the personal experience of all the help here. They make it easy to understand and find what youre looking for. Thanks for a great experience every time. Ps. When people buy firearms make sure you are calling them with a correct number. I was told they called several times and left a message. But literally Noone called and left a message.
This store has a super awesome selection and every member of the staff is super helpful and knowledgeable. I came back a second time and a really friendly gentleman named Harold helped me and remembered my name and everything. Awesome experience every single time. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to shop for a firearm.
First of all, the guy who helped me was very pushy. I wanted to look at a couple different guns to make my decision and he kept pushing me to make a decision. I decided on the gun I wanted, went to check out and the guy who rang me up accidentally voided the transaction after he ran my card. No biggie, mistakes happen, right? So he tries to ring it up again and it declines due to insufficient funds. I take a look at my bank account on the app and it shows the transaction as pending. He calls his manager over, the manager cant figure it out. Manager calls I.T., they cant figure it out. I.T. guy calls his manager who after an hour of troubleshooting says theres nothing can be done until the voided transaction clears and my account shows funds available. The I.T. guy told me my money would be back in my account by the next morning, however here I am 4 days later the week before Christmas and my money is still not back in my account. So, no gun for me because of their mistake, and the most troubling part is that they offered NOTHING for my troubles other than to hold the gun. I told them not to bother. They didnt even offer to pay me back for the background check! Needless to say I left very unsatisfied, and Im telling all of my gun lover friends about my experience.
Despite having ample staff, most were short/rude. Prices seem to be highest in Springs area and no store matching. AR did not come with soft case or stock sights (had upgraded red dot but should still come with stock sights). They made the whole buying process sketchy. Doesn’t even come with the MAG from the manufacturer!!!!! These people are stealing!! They let people stand outside and tell you how bad the government is but don’t tell you how bad the people running the store are.
Service was overall very great! The cashier Kristen was snotty, and she seemed like she didn’t care. She was very rude and seemed like she didn’t like her job. Other than that, Great Service!
Great service, timely and courteous. H
Friendly and informative staff. Bought my 1st firearm here, and every accessory available to me was in stock. The person who helped me pick out my firearm was a former law enforcement officer who took the time I needed to feel comfortable with my purchase, answered all of my many questions, and gave me some very good advice as well. Prices are very reasonable here and I know I got a really good deal. I am happy with my experience, and with my purchase.
Update: 06 June 2019Bought a firearm from them an come to find out there’s some manufacturers defects or their armor damaged the firearm after I walked out the door to my Jeep to put a magazine in it. It won’t go in correctly and it doesn’t drop correctly. I haven’t even fired it, I just wanted my money back. I bought a NEW gun not a Used and all they offered to do is buy my gun back for $200...DO NOT SHOP HERE! Bad Business Ethics & Customer Service.
We made our first purchase here today and all of the staff wether preoccupied or not at least acknowledged us and said if we needed anything they would be with us as soon as they were done. They were super helpful making sure we were able to find what we needed and one of the ONLY stores in all of Colorado Springs that has a decent stock of ammo at the moment.
Ive always came in to just look around and staff was always helpful. Never pushed to buy no matter how many guns I picked up they were always happy to show me. I FINALLY found my first the staff took their time to show me the firearm and I came back the next day to get. Ive been to other places around town but specialty sports just feels right. Especially as a first time buyer they made me feel welcomed. Whatever you do come here first do not go to colorado springs guns and ammo up by target those guys suck compared to specialty sports
Avoid this place at all cost. Rudest people Ive ever tried to do business with, price gouging, 15% restocking fee even when you switch guns. List goes on and on. Their are better people/stores more deserving of your money in the area.
Great selection and service!
Fabulous place! Ive purchased there many times and have always been treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. And oh, by the way, their prices have always been fair and competitive. Most importantly, I always am made to feel welcome as though Im their most valuable customer, and that encourages me to keep going back there, even if Im not looking for anything in particular!
I have been coming into this store for quite a while now. Everyone here is helpful, kind and courteous. Because of limited finances, I look a lot more than I am able to buy but what a selection! The first gun that I bought was a Beretta A300. This gun retails for 650 everywhere. It was on sale for 500! I have to say this, their sales are the real deal! Jeff, Chris and their crew are knowledgeable and ready to help. Great store!
If there was an option zero Id put it in a heart beat. The owner likes to throw tantrums in front of people and cuss. Did I also say how he treats his employees with no respect by cussing and disrespecting them? Over prices his guns. Some Employees are super pushy to buy product. They have no clue what hospitably is. Now Just Think. How would you like a to by a gun that might or might not work? Would you like to take that risk? Many guns are sold BROKEN. If your smart, don’t come to this store, even ammo is over priced. No Respect For People And For There Product.
Specialty has worked hard to keep items in stock during this weird time. Props to them.
Super pushy staff, Gun know it alls. bombarded by everyone that works in the store with a generic “what can I help you with” and not in a polite helpful manner. Whoever answered the phone for the shotgun counter is rude, very cut and dry and needs to learn manners. Couldn’t even say bye...and just hung the phone up on me. I don’t care if you’re busy, take the time to have manners and be polite. After all, you want business from the community. If you want a family ran shop go to Family Firearms. Forrest,Matt,Lukas and Chad are by far superior to any employees this shop has. Plus they have good prices and are willing to go the extra mile for you, very personable unlike this shop.
These people are extremely helpful and not pushy salespeople. My guy John knows me by name because I just love going in there with friends to show them all the crazy stuff they have. Definitely going to continue to buy revolvers from this place.
Ive bought several firearms from here amazing place and staff is great.
Harold did a great job explaining things to me about different calibers and guns. For a rifle i had a rather limited budget but he found several good options. We left and checked out several other stores and SS&S had the best price and better customer service.I also spoke with two other gentlemen in there are they were both friendly and very knowledgeable. A great place to go!
Went in looking for a shotgun I had found online, they had it in stock but had marked the price up from $305.00 (online at 3 different stores) to $699.00 (specialty sports). I brought it up to the guy worki g there and he just shrugged his shoulders. This place is extremely over priced.
If they had coffee on tap i would have given them a 5. Large variety and not pushing a sale. Need a bigger selection of accessories. But its really cool place.
Best in town
Honestly, this has been the best experience ive ever had in a gun store. I was greeted upon entering the building and was treated VERY well. I was treated with respect, kindness and there was never a moment where I felt I was looked down on. A kind gentleman by the name of Bud assisted me in my purchase and showed me around the store itself. Very kind, respectful and helpful staff. I will happily be back in the future.
I was looking for some items and had no idea on what direction to go. As soon as I walked in the door an employee named Bud asked me if I needed some help. He spent over an hour with me showing me things and answering all my question with amazing patience. I would recommend this place for all your hunting or gun needs. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely go back.
These guys are great!!! First off they are the only store in the area that actually stock the ammo I want for my .270, then on top of that their customer service is beyond top notch. I went in with a busted scope and they fixed me up with out any hesitation. As long as I live in the area they will have my business for all things gun related. Thanks again guys!!!!
The salesman John older white Male with a mustache usually, is a very pushy salesman, always wants you to buy and expensive over priced gun,One time I went in just to get ammo, and I was standing in line waiting to pay he comes up behind me and asks can I help you find anything today? I told him no thank you I am just getting ammo to which he replied in a snarky voice pfft have fun buying ammo thenOn another occasion I went to look at some AR15s and the employee was making small talk with me and asked me what I did for a living and I told him I was a union sheet metal worker, and he proceeded to insult me for being a union member and would not stop expressing his disgust with it.I have purchased 5 firearms from this place and the only reason being is because of their selection. I now shop at springs armory and family firearmsAnd I highly recommend both
Great store!
Harold was very polite and helped me out with my paperwork and was patient because I actually had to redo twice because I wrote out of the lines. Also showed me around to some good quality rifles for a more affordable price at the time. Ensured me my gun was going to last and that its a great choice. I went to the range today and man, it just goes round after round no hiccup. I did need to do a good cleaning/oiling upon getting the firearm as well and it was smooth after that.
Gentlemen led me to a fully loaded AR15 that uses .22 caliber for only $300. Friendly service. Gentlemen did not try and make me feel dumb, like other gun places in the area do. Largest selection of guns in Colorado Springs. Gentlemen even took my extra items to hold behind the counter. Will return in the future for gun purchases. Highly recommend this place!
Great selection. If you cant find it here, you havent looked hard enough. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Specialty sports is not a supporter of the 2nd amendment. I understand supply and demand but this establishment takes advantage of any public gun buying surge to turn a higher profit. 150 rounds of 5.56 for $96 and some change before tax? This has to be a joke. Actions like these are not conducive to the protection 2nd amendment, it is being low down and unethical to turn a profit. The gun community should be a community drawn together by the mutual drive to preserve and protect our American freedoms, not predate on worried consumers wallets. They have done it during the gun scares during the Obama administration, the election, and now the Covid/Riot crisis. Don’t spend your money here on overpriced guns and ammo until they change their business structure to join in the fight for our rights and not swoop down like a hungry vulture looking for the next gun scare to feast profit on.
Josiah in the back gas great customer service. Thank you
Price hiking at its best. How does 7.62x39 do from $9.95 to $16.95 in 4 months? I know how. Greed. I willNever shop here again. That’s un-American
Great selection, reasonable prices. 2 stars deducted because they will push you to buy the more pricey things. I had my eyes on a cheaper leather holster but the gentleman behind the counter insisted that I buy the 40 dollar holster. When I went to buy ammo for my .380, again I was being pushed to buy the more expensive ammo that I didnt want. Granted, I didnt buy it, they were still pushy about it.
I dont do a lot of price comparing, but what I want out of a brick and mortar store is selection and ease of purchase. In that respect, you get that here. If a new gun is too expensive, they have many used ones that may be the same model you are looking for. Its in between a big box store like Bass Pro and a hole in the wall gun store that while quaint doesnt have much to choose from. Ive never felt anyone I talked to was anything other than helpful, but then I dont ask tons of random questions either. I also dont call stores on the phone to make people go look for inventory I may or may not buy. Who does that anymore? Drive over there and if they dont have it, order it online. I still like visiting my neighborhood store as well. Theres a place for more than one experience.
Ive been here a few times and all the sales people have been extremely helpful. They freely share their knowledge but arent a bunch of know it alls. I really enjoy this store. The inventory here is amazing. Prices are about the same as anywhere else. I will definitely continue to be a customer here.
Couldnt be more happy in my dealings with this store both on the phone and in person. The staff is very friendly, professional, informative, and a lot of fun to deal with; unlike the Sportsman Warehouse, which I wont go to again when shopping for guns and accessories. The staff, like John, at Specialty Sports & Supply (SS&S) are so friendly and fun to talk to that I immediately knew this was my new go-to gun shop since moving to COS a short while ago. I also want to thank the store owner for matching a price on a new S&W 40 M&P 2.0. I was needing a cost break and he gave it to me without reservation. Thank you, sir! When friends and family are in town, I will be bringing them to shop at your store. Dont shoot yourself in the foot (pun intended) paying more at other stores and only to be treated poorly when you can instead go to SS&S and be a lot happier when you leave!
Overall friendly and helpful staff, Ive bought 3 or more guns here and they are always willing to patiently guide you through the process. Fair prices with fair trade in prices as well. They are funny about some things however, dont look here for .22cal ammo and dont expect them to do transfers for you. Sometimes you will catch a staff member on an off day but I can see where they might get impatient with some of the customers they have. Great selection on guns, ammo and accessories.
This is hands down the best gun store in Colorado Springs, perhaps in Colorado. The owner and his staff are the most knowledgeable. Some of the staff are gruff but only because theyre hard. Once you get to talking youll understand. Dont be shy people! Ask questions and youll get a straight answer!
Best gun shop in the springs. They have an extensive supply of everything from just about every manufacturer. I have never had a negative experience in the store and I have dealt with them for 15 years. Just a super cool place and great employees.
Large amount of guns and pretty impressive. Finally, I was able to find a gun I wanted to get my hands on and pull the trigger a few times. The problem? Sales associate would not allow me to just fiddle with it without telling me I’m doing something wrong. Apparently, the pistol was very sensitive and doesn’t like the slide to be pulled as far back as it can go and the pistol doesn’t like the action to slam shut. You know? Apparently, this store has stock guns that aren’t built for what they are intended to do.Then I handed the pistol back to him and found someone else to show me something else and just a completely different experience. I was able to be left alone long enough to feel the trigger reset on a pistol and was able to feel how to compared to the previous model.Hey, sales associates, hopefully you’re reading this and need a reminder that you’re selling weapons and not cars.
5 stars. Couldn’t be any better. Best gun store in America.
We traded in my wifes 9mm for a used rugar .38 special and was given a fair trade in value. The staff were very helpful and everything was done quickly and very efficiently. Id use them again!
I bought a pistol online from them and could not be more pleased. The price was a little high but they worked with me to my satisfaction. My transaction was handled by Kerry and she was outstanding in every way. She will get my business again. Very professional, respectful and and cheerful. They had the exact pistol that I was looking for when nobody else did. The pistol was shipped out fast. Again, I could not be more pleased than I am now. I cant speak for any other staff but Kerry was awesome! Will buy more from her in the future.
Earlier this month I went to Specialty Sports to purchase a shotgun. I found the experience from start to finish to be great. Vast selection to choose from. Friendly and courteous staff that allowed me to walk the store without hounding me. Dwight was very helpful and patient as he assisted with choosing the solution that best met my needs. The prices were comparable and competitive. All in all a great experience! Id definitely return to Specialty Sports for my next firearms purchase and recommend others give them a try.
The perfect place to get your hands on a gun. The perfect place not to go to to support a great local business. Overpriced everything, most staff have little knowledge of anything even related to firearms, bad and shady business practices and terrible customer service. Sold a friend of mine a used pistol they had marked as a new firearm, with the new price to match. They have a pretty good used selection with okay prices but its a toss up now I guess whether new firearms are in fact new or not. Ive purchased one or maybe two pistols from here. My first couple firearms purchases as a young adult when I didnt know nay better. Now I know better and so do you. Dont skip the visit but skip the purchase. Buy from another local store that is priced well and has good customer service. Lots of choices in the Springs.
Lots to chose from with some reloading stuff too. Brass and dies and powder. Archery and hunting gear. Mostly mid to high end. So no big selection of Lee. But then they cant be expected to compete against the big E-retailers. Knowledge staff. Something Walmart definitely doesnt have. Concealed carry clothes and hunting clothes. Fun targets like poker targets and zombies. Easy to find. They also buy stuff too.
Great selection. Some staff is nice. Others not so much. If you are looking for a specific gun they will probably have it but the price will be inflated.
This store has everything an adult child could want for things that go bang. If you have poor impulse control or your wife enables your expensive hobby (I have both these problems) you can expect a critical hit to your savings account in short order. Dwight is my go to guy there; he is very approachable and happy to show you anything you want and doesnt treat you with the one of us gun guy attitude you sometimes see in other stores. I come to Specialty to deal with Dwight and I buy from them to support this excellent local business and their great staff.
