Our favorite coffee place. Everything is always 100% and each time I come and get my fave it always tastes the same no matter if you go to this location or the hillside location. Hillside also had a park in the back perfect for take the kiddos if you have any. The staff is amazing as well! Best coffee in the Springs!
One of the BEST coffee shops i have ever been to! Balances efficiency and speed with high quality artisan coffee! Not only is there coffee top notch but their food is amazing too! I had their caprese sandwich with a delightful one and one and I am already looking forward to my next visit. Perfect way to start the morning
We went to Colorado on a trip in June and there was this place around Airbnb.I went early in the morning, and there were many people indoors and outdoors, and there were many people waiting to order. We ordered sandwiches with coffee, so it took a while to come out.Coffee and sandwiches, everything was perfect. So we had breakfast here for two days during the trip. If I go on a trip again, I want to visit this place.
There’s a reason Switchback has so many great reviews! Fantastic coffee, delicious food, and a calm, easygoing atmosphere. My favorite thing to order is the 50/50 iced coffee, which is creamy and has maple syrup to sweeten it. I also usually get their avocado toast, but the breakfast sandwich is just as yummy. This is my favorite place to get coffee in Colorado Springs!
First time here, ordered a Brown Sugar Almond Milk Latte with extra Foam and a Caramel Apple Waffle from Miras Waffle stand inside. Absolutely incredible! Definitely recommend!
Best coffee in Colorado springs in a quaint friendly setting that seems to attract all walks of life from military members to business professionals to college students.Definitely my go to recommendation for anyone in the area looking for a good coffee shop.Try the Buratta salad and Ethiopian pour over👌
Love this cafe! There is a lavender iced coffee and normally I just like my coffee without cream and sugar or anything else but it’s so good! Also I love the vibe. Great places to get work done or meet up with friends.
I took my Mother there on a Sunday at around 10am. They were handling a very busy workload with minimal staff, the good news is they were handling it with smiles and friendly attitudes. The coffee is fresh and complex we had a latte and a Guatemalan pour over . The coffee and the avocado toast were fresh and well prepared . The vibe is young people in a cool old house. Ill go again.
This is a neat place. Going to have to come back a few more times and see it after all this COVID stuff is done. My only criticism and is that the music is too loud (and this is coming from a guy who doesnt always hear great lol). My spouse who has come before says the same thing. So it is hard to chill and have a good conversation. Other than that, would recommend to others to try at least once.
Favorite coffee shop in the area! Plenty of space to sit inside and outside, especially after their recent expansion. Espresso is consistently smooth and flavorful, pastries are solid, and each barista my wife and I have met has been exceptional. Highly recommend
Switchback (both locations) are such great coffee shops. One of my favorites. The staff is incredible and always so kind and helpful. Especially Ems care for the customers is outstanding. The locations are great, even though I wish I had one more north! The environment and aesthetic is comforting and peaceful and beautiful. The coffee is top quality and delicious, as is all the food,I would highly recommend this company, they truly care about the community. Im so glad they are open for indoor seating again, with all precautions and health safety considered.
Switchback has the best staff and best coffee in town! Highly recommend grabbing a cortado and some avocado toast and settling down for a relaxing morning! And 100% recommend all of the beans from Abana Estate, theyre delicious and complex but still versitile across multiple brewing methods.
During our recent visit to Colorado Springs, we had coffee three days here. Relaxing atmosphere and the best staff! We were always welcomed with a smile and kind words. The best coffee in town! Next trip we will be eating here also. I caught a glimpse of the avocado toast and it looks amazing! We will be back for sure!
I had the avocado toast and an iced vanilla latte. The avocado toast was exceptional!!Very delicious, and much more than I expected.Im giving two stars because the coffee was so terrible I could not drink it.I literally took one sip and ended up throwing it away.Id like to give more stars for the avocado toast alone, but this is a coffee shop first and foremost and the coffee was terrible.Based on other reviews, Im assuming this is not typical, but it was my experience that day...
The coffee and food are great - I especially liked that they served my cortado with a glass of sparkling water without me even asking. Furthermore, the outdoor space is expansive and fairly relaxed. However, this is a coffee shop Id go to for a lunch date, not to study, get any work done, nor read. The music inside is quite loud, and the industrial design, while gorgeous (I do love the amount of natural light inside), means that plates clinking and voices reverberate quite noisily. Also, the wifi is spotty at best, and cell signal, at least with AT&T, is also not great.
Delicious coffee. Very friendly staff. Delicious breakfast sandwiches and ample portions. The music was less than enjoyable for the time of day. Hip hop music + breakfast not a great combo, but I wouldnt let it detract from returning. I would recommend they post a menu that customers can see while waiting in line and decide their order so that they are ready to order when they get to the counter.. That would speed up service a little.
Coffee was pretty good. Really cute area to study or chill. All the employees where super helpful!
Switchback Coffee Roasters is amazing. I ordered the half and half drink and a gluten free breakfast sandwich and they did not disappoint. Also the inside is beautiful and it is a great place to both have a conversation with someone and study. This is truly the quintessential neighborhood coffee shop and I love to stop in when I visit Colorado Springs.
Definitely super popular! They had a long line but coffee was ready within 5 minutes after order. Staff was friendly and helpful. Im excited to try the coffee grounds I bought!
Loved this place. Passed through from out of town and felt so welcomed. The breakfast was great- we had the avocado toast and the granola bowl- and the iced coffee was just as it should be.
Great little cafe. The food and drinks were so good. It seems like they can make most of the food and drinks vegan (they have coconut and almond milk). I highly recommend the avocado toast. It comes with a lovely pesto sauce. So good. The space is really nice, too. Many pretty plants and vines hanging from shelves on the walls. Highly recommend this place.
Amazing service, delicious food, great coffee and reasonable prices. Just passing through Colorado Springs, but if I lived here I would be a regular!
Wow! Delicious avocado toast and 50/50 latte. Staff was super friendly, service was quick, lots of seating both inside and out. I will be back!
This is one of my favorite coffee shops in town! The food and drinks are delicious and made with special care. I love how interesting their menu is and had a homemade touch. The avocado toast is sublime and you cant go wrong with the yogurt and homemade granola. Plus, they roast their own coffee right next door. Try their 50/50 iced coffee. It is just the right mix of sweet and creamy.
Always good food and great staff. Their avocado toast is amazing. They couldnt make it properly this time due to being out of a few things. But still charge full price lol. But still top notch quality
Coffee, food, atmosphere, and staff are all welcoming and refreshing! I recommend the avocado toast 😋 it was perfect and fresh. Will definitely be coming back to sit down and enjoy everything about Switchback.
Poor COVID has hindered the dining experience. Over the last two weeks, I have made 3 attempts to eat here which has been a long time favorite spot. Each time my favorite Avocado toast has not been available (or the GF bread), which is why I usually chose this coffee shop on a day off. The vanilla latte with almond milk is a 10!This last visit, they had to close early due to staffing. I truly feel for the staff and owners. But this has been challenging to decide on wanting to come back anytime soon because it doesn’t seem like food or staff are available. Pre-Covid 10/10 every time! I pray you can get more staff soon and the experience comes back to life.Oh! And the new shading on the patio is gorgeous!
Atmosphere & service are A+. Huge open space inside & nice patio outside. Luscious houseplants everywhere. Lattes served w a smooth, strong roast. Go early to avoid crowds. It’s a well established neighborhood fave.
Lovely little coffee shop, just across the street from a park. Their food is delicious and the first place I tried oat milk - oat milk hot cocoa was also super yummy. Theyve got outdoor seating and free wifi!
The next big thing! This is a great spot to grab a cup of coffee and a bite with an old friend or coffee date! The service is excellent and all of the employees are friendly. The open kitchen is open and easy to see that it is tidey and clean. I would hoghly reccomend this spot to people of all ages!
Great coffee, delicious food, friendly staff, and wonderful atmosphere. So much bright light and plants everywhere! I havent had a chance to enjoy my coffee in the cafe yet, but I know where Im going the next time my internet goes out during working hours.
Gteat atmosphere! Jeff W. makes one helluva Caprese sandwich! I would say, the best sandwich Ive had in my 50 years on this earth!
Very good energy from the staff and an excellent patio! I suggest the pour over :)
Best coffee in the State, right here in our own backyard. Try the Avocado Toast!
Wonderful coffee and cool place to read and study. Great outdoor spaces for bringing your dog. A small selection of local pastries as well!
I give this restaurant a four-star rating due to how loud the coffee shop is and my inability to hear the conversations I was having, but the overall environment and friendliness of the staff is pretty on par. their coffee drinks are a little bitter and it took them about 15 to 20 minutes to get our drink orders at the table. I would go here with a friend, but I would not go here if I were just wanting to spend some time by myself
India Tea Mushroom Sconce Chef and Crew have a true passion for life excellence namaste
Lovely and inclusive culture and atmosphere, amazing coffee and food - 10/10!
This coffee is great! Happy to support!
World-class coffee and sincerely nice staff.PROs: as-good-as-it-gets specialty coffee, tasty breakfast food prepared in the moment, warm neighborhood community atmosphere, perfectly pulled espresso drinks, pour over and drip coffeesCONs: no shirt, no pants, no service, also they don’t let you dance barefoot on the bar (I had to come up with something)Note: My wife and I were so impressed with the baristas and awesome coffee that we drove 20 minutes each morning to get coffee here during our 10 days in Colorado Springs.
Awesome coffee and kind staff.PROs: as-good-as-it-gets specialty coffee, tasty breakfast food prepared in the moment, warm neighborhood community atmosphere, perfectly pulled espresso drinks, pour over and drip coffeesCONs: for me, nothing. Maybe if you like really dark roast coffees - like Starbucks - Switchback’s roast is lighterEndnotes: My husband and I liked everything about this place. We even drove 20 minutes each way to get coffee here during our time in Colorado Springs. We know coffee and coffee shops and Switchback does it right!
Coffee was amazing and service was bit slow.
Awesome coffee and very friendly staff!
I love the location, the staff, and the decor. There is lots of seating and the minimal, hip design is great! I love the amount of light here. I feel fresh and clear just sitting sipping coffee at Switchback.I admit Im old-fashioned and like chocolatey coffee, versus their currently cool bitter/sour/fruity coffee. But the selections of drinks, tasty treats, and breakfast items are quite good.
Best chia Ive had. Great service.
First time there very good the muffins were delicious
Great local spot! My husband and I were visiting the area for a few days and came in our last morning for breakfast. The energy inside was calm, welcoming, and the staff was great. When I heard the egg crack and hit the griddle I knew I was in for a delight. However, when I took that first bite and tasted the green chiles I was thrilled. (It’s the little things - but they don’t go unnoticed or unappreciated.).Saved as a go to spot every time we are in the area. Thanks for the great coffee and breakfast sandwich.
Always a pleasure to go to the Switchback Coffee shop. Coffee is lightly roasted and flavorful. The avocado smash is really nice. Also a good selection of sweeties including gluten free. Staff are kind and thoughtful of customer needs.
Five Stars.I came here a year ago, and made a point to come back again the next time I found myself in Colorado Springs. I forgot how great this place is! Firstly, it is important to note that I am from Kansas City and have been to countless coffee shops. In my opinion, customer service begins when customers enter the door, and ends when they leave. I cannot tell you how many shops I have entered where they greet you, serve your coffee, then call it good. Switchback, on the other hand, greeted me when I stepped in the front door, and a polite young woman placed a glass jug of water and two glasses on my table for myself and my girlfriend within 15 seconds.Everyone who I interacted with was so incredibly kind, and the menu features the perfect balance of your basic coffee and espresso drinks (also including chai tea, matcha tea, and kombucha) and a food/pastry portion of the menu with plenty of unique and exciting options. I got a Cortado and it was incredible - served with a side of club soda on top of a solid piece of wood. The space is lively, but relaxed, with plenty of seating to fit your needs. Natural light pouring through the facade and upper windows lining the walls allow for indoor plants to cascade down the walls, providing a beautiful and natural feel with the white walls and wood accents and furniture. If youve read this whole thing, then great! All you really need to know is that this shop is great and you should most definitely find your way here if you ever find yourself in Colorado Springs.
Switchback had a major hipster vibe with the friendliest baristas in all the land. Really layed back atmosphere. I had the avacado toast which was way more than just avacado (eggs, microgreens, herloomm tomatoes, etc). Very satisfying and delicious. They even have gluten free options!!!! I had the chai tea to drink and dare I say it was THE BEST chai Ive ever had. It was spicy and sweet just like a chai should be with very pronounced notes of ginger. It was absolutely rich and divine. Even with a full house our food came out quickly and perfectly plated. Prices were on point for the quality of food/drink. I would highly recommend!!!!
Its a nice place inside and out. The employees are kind and the coffee is great! :D
Their coffee shop has lot of delicious flavors of coffee and baked goods. Staff were nice and friendly. What a great place, Recommended!
Awesome coffee and breakfast sandwich, really friendly staff, and a great atmosphere!
Im just here to start a petition for switchback having the best breakfast sandwich in Colorado springs. Super friendly staff and exquisite coffee are also a plus.
Best cortado Ive ever had, and my fiancees chai was delicious. Friendly staff, good prices, nice little shop, 5 stars
I met one of the owners of Switchback Coffee Roasters while I was working at Porch Culture Coffee Roasters. It was great to meet him and it was a blast comparing coffees! When visiting Colorado Springs, Ive stopped by Fifty Fifty Coffee House to pick up some bagged coffee. Its always been very tasty! Keep up the good work!
Our first time in Colorado springs, COWe always find and patron a local coffee shop when we travel to a new city or town and we found Switchback Roasters and immediately headed there for breakfast. The folks here are super friendly and serve amazing fare. The fresh coffee aroma is sooooo dreamy due to the roasting process is literally done in house, next door. The portion size are huge! My wife and kids and sister-in-law are hands down, new fans of the folks at Switchback Roasters. Also they are at the moment following Covid-19 protocol and safety measures.
My friend and I were looking for a new coffee place to try in Springs and we were ecstatic to find this place! The staff was super friendly, they made awesome drink recommendations and our drinks tasted amazing! Can’t wait to go back!
I was looking for a place where I could sip some coffee and write in my journal, and I chose this one based on positive reviews of the coffee and staff and for the interior vibe. Oh my! So lovely! Tons of natural lighting and plants. Plenty of seating and the staff was gracious and friendly. The music was loud enough to drown out the conversations around me but not so much that it was annoying and distracting. I ordered an Americano and a breakfast bagel sandwich that was very, very tasty. I will definitely be a regular here.
