Ive had good and bad experiences here... The other day I asked for extra caramel and got a tiny drizzle.. I dont know if the caramel was cold or what but if I ask for extra and I get less than normal thats not okay... Especially if I have to pay extra for the caramel one. Its close to my work so I go here but not anymore...

Swung through on a sleepy Sunday morning around 8:30. The staff was super friendly and very quick to get orders out the door. Had a very solid light roast coffee paired with this equally solid bagel. Will definitely be my go-to quick breakfast in the Springs.

The staff are great, very patient with the complaint i had. But the food... Oof... I paid almost $6.00 for an egg sandwich known as the Bacon Eye Opener, not very eye opening cuz i got one sad slice of bacon. What a joke

Excellent food, especially the vegan options. Good espresso drinks, but the pour over tasted burned and pretty awful, thats the only thing keeping this from a 5 out of 5.

I love Solar Roast Coffee. I visit several times a week to get a delicious breakfast burrito or their New Yorker vege bagel sandwich. I also really like the Southwestern vege quiche. I buy 1 lb bags of their coffee and have them grind in the store, for use in my French press at home. I find all the employees to be very courteous and friendly. They are a great addition to that busy downtown corner.

Nice coffee spot with a several breakfast and lunch items (lots of veggies options!). Coffee is good and they have a few non dairy options for your late.The only reason I cant give five stars rating is because the bathroom really needs some love. No soap, no toilet seat covers and it looks like the floor didnt see a mop in a long time (TP all over too).

The inside is so bright and airy. See pictures. I got a mocha granita (blended with ice) and my husband got a chai granita. I could still taste the espresso through the chocolate, and its tasty. The chai is strong but in a good way. Most chais tend to get watered down with ice, but theirs held up. We also bought some Sumatra dark roast to try at home. The fact that they roast with solar pleases me, as I have solar panels on my house too. I will be back for sure, much better than the overpriced Starbucks that used to be here.

The service is great. We got a breakfast sandwich and burrito. Both were very good. But by far, the best iced latte I have ever had, and I always visit coffee shops. Seriously the lavender white chocolate iced latte, is THE BEST COFFEE I have ever had. Thank you. Only disappointment is they close early on Sunday.

If youre looking for a fantastic coffee/breakfast experience, this is the place. The coffee is excellently brewed. I always pair it with the southwestern quiche and green salsa. What a perfect combo. The green salsa is so good. A genuinely fantastic place to visit.

Today was our first visit to Solar Roast and we will definitely be going back. The coffee was great, better than the previous store that was at that location 😁 The baristas were very friendly and helpful and made two very good cups of coffee for us today. Im surprised the store was so empty.

Not only was it great coffee, but the staff were cheerful and patient.Also, I left my backpack there after they closed and one of the employees went above and beyond to help me get it back so I didnt miss my flight. Thank you so much!!

I was very disappointed in the service. Saturday 3/20/21, I took my kids in for a coffee, and when my (grown neurologist) stepdaughter asked for a straw, the barista was very rude. She told her that it was a sippy cup and she didnt need a straw. My stepdaughter asked if she could have one anyway, because she wanted to stir the caramel into her drink, and the barista huffily tossed a couple at her. Normally, when we go downtown we go to Solar Roast for a coffee, but I will definitely be looking at other alternatives now.

Weve stopped here a couple of times while charging at the nearby supercharger. Its a nice coffee shop with friendly staff and some nice pastries, including gluten free options. Definitely worth getting out of the car for a visit

Solar Roast has great coffee, a good selection of food for a coffee spot, and a unique selection of cold, refrigerated beverages, and vinyl records. They sell their coffee in 1lb and 5lb bags, so you can take a little or a lot home with you. The art painted on the walls is very detailed, and ties everything together at this coffee spot, making the atmosphere bright and energetic.

I had an awesome lunch of mushroom quiche and a wonderful latte! ♥️ The service was so good, I put money, in the tip jar, twice! Great time! Thanks! ☕️

I didn’t try the coffee. Friendly staff.But the place smells funny.Couple ahead of us were ordering sweet drinks so decided it wasn’t a serious coffee place and left for Story Coffee which turned out to be very serious.

The baristas were very nice and helpful in answering our numerous questions. The space is nice and airy as well which really helps along the whole solar roasted vibe. Their quiche, teas and coffee were very good.

Very disappointing and frustrating. Ive supported Solar coffee from the beginning. When I walk my dog downtown this is our first stop. We are always greeted with open arms and Nahla always gets a smile and a compliment. Today, some redhaired kid decided it was against the rules for her to be there. I explained that I always bring her in, get my coffee and go. He stated NO, and told me to leave. I asked if I could order it and he could bring it to the door. Again he said No and asked us to leave. Well, no problem! I left, went to their competitor across the street in the park, where we were welcomed with open arms and received my iced coffee. Unfortunately for them, I will never darken their doorstep again! Nor will I recommend them. If he was unaware of the rules, that is fine, but he was extremely rude and not accommodating. Their loss!!! I do not recommend this establishment until their new employees get some manners!

I must say quite disappointing and pis poor service along an inept customer service rep. For one the prices have gone up since COVID-19 and everything else has gone downhill. First off over $4.00 for a cup of coffee so 2 cups cost over $9.00 for a cup of black coffe and requested that hazelnut creamer be added to the coffee and upon arriving back at home I found that there was no coffee flavoring had been added. Need to learn how to take care of and accomodate your customers more effectively. Robert Naglich

I have decided to stop patronizing this establishment due to ongoing issues. The list is from most recent to oldest. Today was the proverbial straw. The staff are mostly courteous and helpful, but there are exceptions.1. I had what I consider a major problem with service and called the Colorado Springs store to address the issue. The manager was dismissive and purposely mischaracterized my complaint. This act cemented my decision.2. Several months ago, a person the cashier identified as the owner was sitting at a table, but got up to do several tasks and didn’t wear his mask. COVID-19 is a real threat and the owner is shirking his responsibilities to our community. I’ve only seen this once, but once is enough to cause harm.3. I’ve gone in several times to not be acknowledged by staff and ignored for sometime while waiting for service. As I said, this isn’t typically a problem, but it does happen from time to time. I prefer to be acknowledged so I feel more comfortable waiting. It’s basic customer service.The food is ok, the drinks are ok, but when the manager didn’t seem concerned with my complaint and purposely mischaracterized it, I had to decide to stop going to Solar Roast.

Caffeinated Water with no respect for the product or the customer.I understand that most patrons hop in for their daily caffeine fix. I used to do that. That is, until I learned that coffee CAN taste good without adding anything to it--espresso especially.Coffee beans have naturally occurring sugars, that when roasted and brewed correctly balance extremely well with the otherwise harsh flavors of a natural coffee bean. A good cup of coffee should be neither sour nor bitter nor artificially sweetened. It should have a unique set of flavors, elicited through the roasting technique that are pleasant in smell, initial taste, and after taste. The coffee and espresso I had today werent even closeWhen I walked into SRC today and asked the clerk how they roast their beans, she replied: With an electric powered roasterWell I certainly hoped it wasnt wood fired, or worse--radiated :PNot only could she not answer this simple question but when I asked what kind of beans I could select from for a pour-over she replied, We have light roast and dark roast and a pour-over will take a whileI realized in that moment that this shop was a supplier of dirty water to caffeine and sugar addicts and not the focused, artisanal coffee shop they advertise.Yet I ordered a pour over of the Peru (Light Roast) and a double-shot of the house espresso blend, my usual tasting order.The espresso arrived and smelled like burnt tires. A sip only confirmed the aroma followed by a bitter after-taste rivaling Malort.As I waited for the pour-over I explained to the barista that the espresso was very bitter. She offered to pull another shot to try and correct the flavor. While the gesture was appreciated, her process did not change--so why would the flavor. My first sip of the second espresso attempt confirmed as much.The pour-over arrived. By sight it was piping hot and awfully clear. After 8 minutes and a breakfast burrito it was no longer hazardous. Only a sip was needed to lament it was also undrinkable.So I shared my disappointment with the barista. She claimed to be the manager and replied, Theres nothing I can do about your concerns. Our pour-over water comes out at 280 degrees and our espresso machine just is what it is. I mean I guess I could have someone come in and adjust things, but its just how we do things..If you sell coffee, then please sell coffee--otherwise just advertise caffeinated water...- DG

Love this place! The coffee is good stuff, the sitting is absolutely great, not your diners chairs, and I especially love no cooked food in there. It smells like coffee, the way coffee shop supposed to smell, not bacon and eggs and wine and beer! Thank you!

Coffee was very weak I payed 2.50 for a drip that said 55 cent refill when I tryed to get refill price was 2.54 and with covid-19 we are not to reuse cups so I trashed the first one that said for it to be .55 cent refill I had to reuse the cup it was paper....

The bacon breakfast burrito was delicious! Mix up that salsa and sour cream, and spread it on the burrito for some extra deliciousness. The white mocha was decent as well. I will definitely be back!

And that brightens the day of all people, including those having a tough day on the street. Great vibe! Breakfast burritos are very legit. Pueblo green chile, hand cut potatoes, quality bacon. And the coffee is smooth. A welcome addition to downtown Colorado Springs.

I made two visits to this coffee shop. The first visit I had a server that seemed very new and I felt my coffee wasnt made the way I requested, but my second visit was great and Im intending to go back again.... and again. The coffee the second time was just the way I had asked and the server seemed very knowledgeable and cheerful.

This place was so so. I got a white chocolate black cherry latte which was $6 bucks. They have a small pre made menu with quiches, burritos that they reheat for you. I have a veggie one but I ordered a wild mushroom one (didnt get the right one) but the one I did get was good. I will be back to buy their beans and see if their beans are good for home use. The location is great but not very comfy for hanging out, more for a order and go type of place. They sell old records here which is pretty neat and they have a happy hour 1/2 off from 3-5 on granitas ( frozen drink). I will try this next time I come here.

I was waiting in line to order at the register and the cashier completely ignored me. Then proceeded to help customers who came in after me. AVOID this place. There are better coffee places that treat everyone with respect.

This was the best place ever. My coworker and I stopped in for lunch today as we have been wanting to check them out. Amazing!! The girls at the counter were super sweet, took our order, food was out in no time. My friend got a ham quiche and I got a expresso carnita burrito. Amazing!! And the green chili sauce they give you with it - yes please! So yummy!! Nice vibe here, great music and you can buy it on vinyl!!

Disappointment is an understatement. I was excited to see Charbucks leave, and a small chain coming in. However, their espresso is very bland and flavorless. My latte tasted like hot milk, and their drip coffee is flat in notes and flavor. I didnt try their food, but it looked good. Other than painting, they did very few upgrades to their new space. It looks and feels like an old, worn-out Starbucks with some bright paint.

This coffee company is top. Ask for Michael, he does a top notch job making your coffee.
