Me and my wife always come here for coffee and breakfast. And its in a great location thats not super busy, and if you want to sit outside, the patio is nice and has a great view of Cheyenne mountain. Coffee is delicious and they have a huge selection of breakfast and lunch items.
Coffee wasnt bad. Wish I could taste the coffee a little bit more. But the burrito was amazing. All the employees where super helpful and nice ! Im from out of state and had lots of questions !
This Place is Awesome!!! Not because the view and the area and the food but the atmosphere here feels like home! The food was great me and my husband had a great dinner out for a change during a hard time and this young lady waited on us was so charming and reminded me of my own daughter! Please keep her shes a good one! Her name started with a Mo and a z is perculuar name but shes delightful and we will come back for sure is was our first time there!
First of all food is good and drinks are good. However, you’re coffee shop and yet you have ridiculous hours of operation. I understand hiring people is difficult but your managers and owners should be in there opening the shop at better hours. I have gone 5 times in the last month and you’re never open. Your big store competitors are getting your business because of this. You have now lost my business.
Love the rustic mountain atmosphere in the cafe, with the cozy fireplace in the back! Lots of variety of flavors for your coffee. The coffee is wonderful- no burnt bean taste. Non dairy alternatives available. The food is wonderful as well. I definitely recommend this place!
Cute coffee shop. I liked that there is a quiet section with nice leather couches and chairs but when I was in there a lady was on her phone talking so it was distracting and disrespectful. Good coffee. Decent breakfast sandwich.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Also a very wide selection of beverages both hot and cold.Recommend the chill zone where there is comfortable lounging furniture to enjoy. My only real complaint is the prices and the quantity of food. A coffee and a breakfast burrito ran me around $12 and the burrito was quite small, albeit delicious.I would come back but only as a way to splurge so to speak and only if I had the time to pass and enjoy the lounge setting.
French toast casserole needs frosting. The frosting that goes on cinnamon rolls...I shouldn’t get hassled to get it. I order it every week and always get a different answer.Great coffee shop and local owner.I wish it had the square app register for rewards or something.
Ive been going here since they opened. The place is warm and cozy if youre lucky enough to get a seat by the fireplace. Good coffee and a decent selection of pastries. Service could be a little friendlier. The place is always clean. Its pet friendly as far as I know. No one has told us to leave...yet. The only reason why Im giving it a 4 star is because of the prices. They are a bit higher but Im always happy to support local businesses.
Great place! I loved the atmosphere and setting. Employees are very professional, and the food is outstanding! Loved it. 👍
Love their coffee, especially Caramel Bear. Has a cozy atmosphere with fire place and couches to relax and enjoy an amazing cup of coffee. This is my place to go!!
I dont normally eat gluten free but they have a cherry almond pastry thats GF and it was amazing.
I had the turkey 🦃 melt with pesto,it was delish.it was nice an cozy sitting on the sofa and enjoying lunch with my daughter and new (son ) son-in-law.and sipping on frozen drinks.
Coffee is good, the quiches are good. The salmon and bagel needs work.
Really cute decor on the inside. Good selection of gluten free treats. A little pricey but willing to pay to support local. Was excited to find this place as its close to my work. My biggest issue was there was one worker not wearing a mask at all. She was decorating and wasnt making drinks and looked to be older, possibly the owner or manager. As a doctor, I cant support a business especially in the food industry who doesnt abide by public health guidelines.
Their tea great and the atmosphere is cozy. Great for doing homework.
Absolutely terrible service and all teens. They Got my order wrong and when I asked for it to be corrected, very nicely I may add, they were rude, rolled their eyes as slammed things around and they fixed it. Maybe adults should work here.
Fun and inviting atmosphere with sectioned off areas if youre escaping working from home and need a semi-private place to get work done. Nice variety of coffee drinks and food.
Super expensive for what little amount of food you get!!
2 blonde hairs in my drink :(
First time there and they were very friendly and very delicious coffee.
My Go-to spot for relaxing conversations with friends. The music isnt loud so I can actually hear my friends. I love their pumpkin pie flavored drinks. BUUUT,One problem though, I was going to give it 4 stars because the music was distasteful. Usually they play indie style music that goes very well with the environment and the aesthetic of the place, but today they had hip hop and rap. I dont think that is necessarily worth making it 4 stars, but it was just annoying and did not match the vibe. I hope a manager reads this, rap is a very acquired taste for alot of people, many find it offensive and annoying. Please stick with the calm indie style music, much more suitable for the environment and conversations. Rap would be more suitable for a gym, not a relaxing coffee shop where people are studying and trying to talk to eachother. Thanks:)
Pricey but beyond worth it. You’re purchasing quality and it shows. The staff has always been incredible and the food is delicious. I make a habit to try something new each time I go and I have never been disappointed.
Great coffe and cozy atmosphere
I wish the shop would have oatmilk which is very popular at coffee shop.
This Coffee shop has a very friendly staff and a great latte. the atmosphere is very warm and inviting.
Great service and great place to sit and have coffee with friends.
Cute interior. my dark roast coffee was overly hot and weak. Burritos are premade in display case. The bacon burrito is small and nuked, and had a half of slice bacon and half and egg but lots of potato. The egg sandwich was ok, expensive considering the small amount of ingredients. the bagel was small, bland and barely toasted. service was perfunctory. social distancing of tables not implemented. Not coming back.
I sat in the parking lot, and met a friend. Never went in. They had business, a number of folks and constant stream. Theyre probably doing something right.
The chai latte and the lemon poppyseed bread were delicious! The pastries here are always great.
Wonderful staff. Always fun to talk to.
Love it...grew up with this place and love supporting the local scene. Breakfast burritos are awesome and so is the coffee.
First time here and I loved the atmosphere, they did a great job on decor and vibe, the bakery case is full and looks delicious- we decided to try a cinnamon roll and took one bite - sadly it was pilsbury store bought :-( we would have NEVER paid for that. Feels like we were ripped off paying the price of an entire package of store bought rolls for one roll - if it were homemade that would be worth it. Def disappointing. I will ASK next time before purchasing and did I mention it’s to HIGH PRICED.
Ive tried to go to this coffee shop three times now - the breakfast/snack items look so good! When I go in to order, there are 2 or 3 employees who are not wearing their masks properly. I am not willing to risk my health for that.
Customer service the worst Ive ever experienced in my life.Drinks made badly on purpose by a worker who didnt want to be bothered to make a 6 drink order for us (not sure why that is an issue when this place is always busy). It wasnt a fluke either - she did the same thing again when we tried to come in at a different time of day to avoid dealing with her - but she was there again and did the exact same thing (she shouted loudly to her fellow workers about how awful we were). It was a bizarre and uncomfortable moment, regardless of the fact that Im the customer - Ive never treated anyone like that.I was told I would be contacted in order to speak to a manager with my complaint - but I have a feeling it wasnt her first issue based on the other workers treatment of her and the situation. Save your money and dont go here for a good time - with that girl there, you wont be treated like a human being!0/5 starsIts a shame because usually its a 5/5 stars experience! The drinks usually taste great and the previous three years were awesome. Unfortunately, that barista knows how to ruin a day and a drink. As long as shes not there to air her personal greviances, this place has 5 stars!
Amazing friendly staff, and fantastic everything on the menu! Love this place and always stop in when Im in the area. Thank you!
Nice coffee shop with good decor, friendly Baristas and pleasant to be at! Will definitely visit again.
Great breakfast burritos
I absolutely love black bear coffee and tea. Its one of the best coffee shops Ive been to in the springs, and has amazing gourmet drinks. New flavors every month, something for everyone. Great indoor and outdoor seating and just so friendly. Thank you all!
Nice coffee shop. Outdoor seating. Good selection of gluten free.
Best coffee I’ve had in Colorado so far. Employees are funny and nice.
Recommend iced caramel bear, it was very good.
This place has a nice home lodge feel. They offer more than your normal breakfast foods. You have to try the cinnamon toast casserole. I think I found a new place to relax and drink coffee.
Great little small business!! Killer cinnamon rolls!!
Great coffee shop excellent service will stop by next time i am down that way.
Solid coffee; food is outrageously over-priced, though. My almost $10 veggie sandwich was on what I would describe as glorified Wonder bread. Furthermore, the slap of mayonaisse lacked any flavor style. I dont know how you can call a piece of cheese, a thin tomato, some cucumber, and wilted lettuce a veggie sandwich. Extremely disappointed. What had me most concerned was only one of the three employees were wearing a mask. Regardless of how people feel about mask- wearing, employees at restaurants must comply.
Good coffee and food but way too expensive. I ordered a sandwich and had to pay $3+ more just for a few chips and a pickle. I understand its located by Fort Carson so they wanna charge more but it was a lil ridiculous and almost $3 for a small black coffee? Really? It was good but wont be going back anytime soon.
Cake was horrible hard and dry couldn’t believe it
Great local spot for coffee.
I went in just before closing tonight and Eden and another pretty girl were there and kindly took care of me. Eden was a fantastic help and I could see she was busy with closing up shop but she still took her time to recommend something for me to get. The food was great and so thats two good reasons to go back and I will.
Nice place to eat homemade snacks.
Wow what a cozy place! They had a great selection of tea and coffee. Lots of delicious pastries! I had herbal tea and overnight oats. My group held a book club meeting near the fireplace. It was awesome.
The staff is extremely friendly and quick to make suggestions. The pastries are fresh, and the portions are more than generous. They also have a great selection of mugs. The patio is nice and large, and although it was clean, it could REALLY use some flower pots/flowers to spruce it up...and the staff could try to straighten out the tables and chairs once in a while. Its a great neighborhood coffee shop!
Great place to relax and get a bite to eat. The breakfast parfaits are phenomenal! It is also clean and quiet overall. They do have outdoors seating as well which provides a great place to do business one on ones and due to the location, the mountains are right behind it.
The staff seems genuinely friendly, the drinks are great AND the gluten-free almond-cherry cake is incredible! It is such a delectable dessert that I don’t feel like I’m missing out on “regular” desserts! It goes quite well with iced coffee on a hot summer day! The blended chai is also Amazing! I like the outdoor patio here too.
This review does not reflect Black Bear Coffee as a whole, but rather our most recent encounter on July 17th. The customer service today was one of the worst we have ever experienced. Our blonde server Natalie was extremely rude and brusque. She rolled her eyes at us when we placed our order, then while making the drinks talked loudly to the other server about how customers always come in at the last second and order drinks. We got to the store at 3:40pm, and received our drinks well before closing time. If closing is at 4pm and you dont want customers 15 minutes prior, why leave the doors open but make customers feel unwelcome and uncomfortable? Usually Black Bear is a fun and pleasant atmosphere with incredible drinks and treats. But our server helped us find out the best way to ruin an experience is to have offensive and rude customer service and poorly made food. To be honest, I didnt think an Oreo crunch could be ruined - somehow our server found a way. We ordered several Oreo crunches and every single one was bland with huge ice chunks and crunchy ice bits throughout. Fyi, Oreo crunches are BLENDED drinks. That means more than 9 seconds of blending in order to make an actually palatable drink. I think someone needs to clue in our server about that, as well as a lesson in real customer service, which should not include regarding customers as inconveniences combined with displays of explicit rudeness.I’ve worked in restaurants and cafes before when I was in high school/college. One thing I learned is that you can’t clean your entire working area 30min before closing time! All it takes is a couple customers to walk in and order and your right back to square one! You clean once the store is closed it’s that simple. It’s a terrible business model to be rude to customers because your upset that they came in when the store is still open. Hope the management at Black Bear realizes this and expects more from their employees than the experience Natalie provided. My advice to Natalie: dont take a job in customer service if you dont know how to keep your childish attitude under wraps! Wish I could take my tip back I had left for you because you definitely did not earn it!
I was disappointed in the service, prices. I was here for an informal business meeting. I ordered a white chocolate lavender latte and a blue berry muffin. The young lady taking my order was nice & friendly. Too bad it ended there. I waited over 15 minutes for my coffee. The young lady was unsure of her self and bounced from order to order. She did one thing here and one thing there. The third lady was stocking the front shelves instead of helping with drinks. One could have been doing cold drinks and the other hot drinks. The wait would have been less for everyone. First time I was here and the last time!
Nice counter service. Clean restrooms. Friendly great tea selection. Wifi just pleasant atmosphere.
The service was great! The two employees there were friendly and engaging. There was a small error with my order but it was instantly corrected. Errors happen but how you handle them are what counts and they handled it with courtesy and professionalism. The coffee was fair priced for this day in age and the coffee itself was pretty good. Overall, I will definitely go back and if I have time may stay there and drink it as the atmosphere looked welcoming.2 Days LaterSo I dropped a star from this visit. I ordered 2 large coffees, 1 blended and 1 iced. I asked for large on each so I said it twice. She started making them and I noticed they were small cups. I said to her I asked for large and she replied you asked for medium. To wish I said Large Please. Then when I get my drinks she says I dont remember which is which so you will have to try them. So I said well which one is blended? To which she said oh thats right, one was blended I half expected her to say I didnt order it lol. Now I dont think any of this was intentional and she took care of everything and was nice about it. However, this is my second visit and both had issues. I will go a third time and hopefully it goes smooth and I can raise my rating.
Service is quick and friendly. Espresso is delicious and they have lots of fun flavor options. Food was delicious as well. Great way to start the day.
Holy moly! The Red Eye has great flavor and the perfect amount of caffeine. And the smoked salmon bagel sandwich is delicious! My daughter had a blueberry muffin, and it had the perfect crust and plenty of blueberries. My wife had an egg sandwich on a muffin and actually finished it!!Ive tried this place in the past and remembered that it was good, but for some reason my recent visit was outstanding!
Been going here since I was a kid. Fantastic vibe and becomes even cozier in the winter time. Loads of coffee choices, outdoor seating on warm days, and a great selection of small food and dessert options. Take a date or just enjoy a nice out with family and friends.
Payed over $35 for over priced food. When my young daughter asked for a cup of water they told her she needed $1.50. For tap water. Horrible customer service and horrible policies. Decent coffee.
A nice quiet little shop. I have been here multiple times and its never crowded. The prices are a little steep for a lunch, but not unreasonable for Colorado Springs. Nice selection of beverages, coffee, etc. Cozy environment. The staff is friendly and the shop is kept very clean.
Rudest staff ever encountered.
Their food is fresh tasting and delicious, the pastries are fantastic, and the coffee tastes great! This is a great place to grab a quick coffee and snack or you can get a full meal and relax a while. The staff is super friendly too! Definitely my go to coffee shop in the local area.
I love this place!
Nice coffee shop. Great food. I tried the baked banana oatmeal, very good.
Vast caffiene offerings, excellent food selection, with Gluten-free baked goods. My only request is gluten-free breakfasts or lunch offerings. Great space to work or socialize. Will definitely return soon!
Absolute anarchy. I love it.
I would say that their espresso is OK, but not great. Their drip coffee is actually pretty good, and they have some great baked goods available! The vibe of the place is nice. Its the kind of place you could hang out and read or play a board game or something and not feel weird. They have some nice outdoor seating, which is great when I have the puppy with me.
This place has a very warm and cozy feel to it. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. I had a cup of coffee and a very delicious chocolate cupcake. I would definitely recommend this place, but keep in mind that they close a little early at 5pm.
The margarita quiche is my fave, but everything is excellent!!
Great coffee. They also have some amazing food. The burritos and quiche are amazing. They also have a great looking selection of sweets.
All of the food looked great but the coffee was not. Good service
Really good and yummy place. Its a little expensive but thats expected with a nice atmosphere and good service. Almost like Panera and Starbucks had a baby in colorado.
Great service and plenty of food options. Delicious and reasonably priced. Will definitely return.
I had an iced caramel latte and it was amazing. It wasnt watered down and it had a strong espresso flavor. I also had their chicken sandwich and it was really really good. I will definitely be back and I just anybody in the neighborhood or shopping at Safeway to check it out!
I am always amazed at the quality of the coffee and food here. If you havent made it here, it is highly recommended. Clean And Delicious. The decor is so cozy.
Salmon salad and coffee were good, if a bit pricey. Would have given it 4 stars but the employees were quite rude
I dont drink coffee.....but I love desserts. Their Almond Chocolate Cheesecake is too die for!!! Expensive ($6.50 slice), but worth every penny. The Best.
I always love the coffee here! The baristas are always friendly and helpful too!
Great coffee. And great atmosphere
