First time visiting & they did not disappoint! We had reservations to celebrate our anniversary & wow do they spoil you with goodies! We were seated in a cozy booth & presented with a single rose & card signed by all staff. They even gave us a personalized menu for us to keep for a souvenir. I can’t express how wonderful it was to dine here, the food was top notch & drinks were divine! Highly recommend if you can splurge
We went for my wife’s birthday. Expectational service, the whipped cream is delicious. The 16 oz T-bone steak was very good. The mashed potatoes and green beans were wonderfully favorable. The spinach artichoke dip was truly amazing. The Mac and cheese was the only thing that was ok. Otherwise everything else was wonderful. The environment is country western which was nice. I have ate at many different steakhouses and this one does a much better job then most. The really special touch was printing special menus and wrapping them for us, that was top notch.
We went for our anniversary to this awesome restaurant. We had set up a reservation a week or so in advance. When we got there they were awesome and saddest right away. There was a rose and a card on the table for us that said happy anniversary on it. Our servers were absolutely awesome and so friendly and the food was beyond amazing. We share a shrimp cocktail, he had a T bone and I had a Bison NY strip, for dessert was the creme brulee. We will definitely be returning. Thank you so much to Shawn and Taylor for being amazing servers tonight.
Great atmosphere, 4 star service but I’m there for the food. The bison steak was good but north of $30-40 dollars per plate combined with instant potatoes. They can deny it but we grew up on instant. Shameful for a restaurant like this. That texture was undeniable and the asparagus wasn’t cooked all the way. Felt like eating a stalk or branch. Won’t return.
Outstanding first visit, as recommended by a neighbor of ours. We were warmly received by the entire staff from the minute we walked in to the time we departed. Collectively, each staff member provided a personalized experience for our first anniversary--a rose and a card signed by the restaurant staff; all set out on the table upon arrival. Stefan is an excellent waiter; always ensuring we had what we needed. Every server was consistently attentive to our needs and positively served customers. A manager, Jason, also visited our table to ensure we had what we needed. The meal was delicious and well-portioned--the steak was exactly as we ordered and the green beans and potatoes were delectable. We were pleasantly surprised to find that a patron had paid for our meal--thank you, to whomever it was. You are an incredibly inspiring person and we will be paying forward to someone in our future. We will definitely eat here again and will recommend to others.
I am giving Cowboy Star a full five stars. The service, food and atmosphere was impeccable. I felt very welcome upon entry and had the choice between the bar or tables. First of all this place has cheese stuffed olives so that is your indicator that their bar is one hundred percent serious and passes all your could-have would-have thoughts. The food was so good that I completely forgot to take a picture. The restaurant has a soft glow that makes it upscale in appearance but also cozy. The standard of cleanliness and taking precautions due to Covid go beyond the zenith of goals that you want in a restaurant. A glamorous space to enjoy your fancy tastes, while keeping it humble.
Top notch staff! Thank you to Ryan and the amazing team for delivering outstanding service, food and surprises above and beyond our expectations. We traveled to CO Springs over Easter weekend and Ryan worked through texting and multiple calls to create the most memorable Saturday night (April 3) for us. The servers were gracious, attentive, prompt and humorous. We loved the personalized menus for two occasions: Happy 23rd Birthday and Congratulations On Your Engagement along with the rose. The restaurant has an open airy feel, but offers a more intimate section for a tranquil, romantic vibe. Cowboy Star shined in every aspect of our dining experience and celebrations. Thank you again.
Absolutely incredible dining experience. Chris, our server, was awesome. GM Ryan came by twice to check in on us. This was for our 11th anniversary, and not only did we get a rose with a signed card, but a custom printed menu. The amuse broche to start was simply amazing. Oysters appetizer were some of the best I’ve ever had. Snake River Wagyu ribeye was cooked perfectly and, honestly, one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Shrimp and crab sides were absolutely divine. We will be coming back again, and regularly. This restaurant, and it’s amazing staff, deserve all the praise it gets.
Anyone that gave this more than three stars has never had an actual good steak. The ribeye was tempt properly, but the cut was stringy and chewy and grizzly. They also put far too much finishing salt on it. The bearnaise sauce was good, but when it came out it had a skin on it as if it had been sitting in the walk-in for quite some time. The bone marrow was literally, bone marrow there was no accoutrement or seasoning of any kind. Sadly, the bone marrow wasnt even properly rendered and came out white as the bone it was served on. Another element of a proper steakhouse, is a decent bar and this one didnt know how to pour a proper Manhattan... After seeing the desserts come out to some other tables I decided to skip those as well. Graham cracker crumbles and piped in pie filling with a dollop of whipped cream does not constitute the dessert worth the asking price on the menu... Theres got to be a better steak in Colorado springs!
Again, awesome! Service was excellent, not rushed through beautiful meal. Food was right on target. Try the stuffed mushrooms, the best Caesar salad in town, And must try the dry aged rib chop! Always great. Probably or arguably the best service in town…
You can enjoy great service and a few good dishes at Cowboys. The food as Id rate it is a 5 out of 10 (Ive had their ribeye, NY strip, and chicken). Shrimp cocktail was yummy and the cocktails are pretty good. Ive had much better tasting food for the price but to be fair I likely paid a little more. I appreciate their attention to detail and will continue to go back as its nearby and they have great service. I havent fallen in love with a single dish but will let yall know if I come across something review worthy.
Very good food. The chef (Nick Snyder) that cook my steak did very good job! Im very good chef myself but never had chef blown my mind like this chef at cowboy Star Restaurant. Hats off to that chef. The service was great as well. And the brake did amazing too. I recommend anyone and everyone to try this place.
We had such a great night with delicious cocktails and way too much food! Brittany was our bartender and was quick to craft us up some neat cocktails that we all really enjoyed. Great happy hour!
The restaurant was very nice, clean, the staff was amazing and super nice. Our waiter Stephen was extremely polite and awesome. He was from Ireland had a great accent, very sincere. Food was awesome. Cant wait to eat there again. 😋
My boyfriend and I went here for a Valentine’s celebration and loved everything. They really take covid precautions seriously too. Our waiter Chris was very knowledgeable and made our night even better with his service. All of the food was absolutely incredible. Really liked the ambiance as well. 10/10 all around
Absolutely delicious food. Incredible steak. Amazing sides. Really friendly staff. This is the best steak you will have in Colorado. Highly recommend!
Great atmosphere. Team effort from all staff making it an enjoyable experience. We sat in the bar area tables, they did an awesome job!
Well this is what this place is...The best steak house in Colorado springs. It is a chain around the US. BUT this location takes it to a whole new level. And for the area its super high end. Prices are reasonable and the service is absolutely outstanding. Moving onto the food and all other.I had the 8oz filet mignon with bordelaise cooked medium rare.Cooked to perfection it was juicy and excellent. Seasoned well and not over salted. The quality of the meat was almost up to par with a steak house in LA/Beverly Hills I wont mention in this review. But if you read, my reviews youll see where Im talking about.I also ordered lobster bisque to start. Not sure why I didnt mention that first. But here we are. The bisque isnt to rich in flavor. Just right. The acid of the tomato is cut well and does not bite you back ( THANK YOU CHEF! )Our table also ordered roasted bone marrow. OH, MY, GOD.Prepared and displayed perfectly. I would without hesitation get this again. The staff really made us feel at home. The ambiance is great. You can actually have a conversation at your table without interruption of noise. The atmosphere is great. And its one of the reasons Ill definitely return. So with all that said would I recommend this place? YES. If you want to go to the best steak house in CO Springs this is the one. Otherwise show me where Im missing!? lol.Food: Way above average.Staff/customer service: Amazing never had an issue. Always attentive. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience.Decor: Updated and new. A bit dark. But can be a romantic settings if youre looking for that kind of thing. Otherwise its definitely got that dimmed light decor feel.Bathrooms: Very clean.
Yes, the steak here is 2 or 3 times more expensive than a cheaper steakhouse in the city. Is this steak literally 3 times better? No, probably not. Upscale restaurants generally dont have food that seem worth the difference in price. That really becomes apparent in places where the service is no better than your local outback steakhouse. But cowboy star is different. Im not sure Ive ever had more attentive service than here. 100% worth the price for me. Maybe I got lucky? Maybe I got the best waitress they have? Either way, Ill definitely be back. 35 day dry aged ribeye is an expensive, but delicious cut of meat. They bring you the raw steak for your approval prior to cooking! Thats some attention to detail.
Colby, Rachel, Vanessa and Cara were fantastic. This was our first dining experience at Cowboy Star for our anniversary. We called 30 minutes ahead and made reservations on a Friday night. We started in the lounge with beer and the fully loaded tater tot appetizer. We were greeted at our table by a long stemmed red rose, a custom menu wishes us a Happy Anniversary and a personalized greeting card signed by all the wait staff. The steak, the sides, the drinks, the dessert - everything was perfect. Highly recommend for fantastic food and service.
Okay this was hands down our FAVORITE restaurant weve been to, we are from Seattle so we have a lot of nice dining here and this was by far the best. From the service, to the food, to the atmosphere and decor - AMAZING. I am actually surprised this isnt rated 5 star on google. I am fairly picky and everything we had was an absolute 10! Try the bacon appetizer - you wont be disappointed!
Well I’d have to say I’m not overly impressed. The staff is very friendly the manger was super friendly in a sense I guess you could say but he didn’t believe me about the 65$ bone in rib-eye that was lukewarm at best they said be very careful it’s a “hot plate” the plate felt like it was sitting under a heat lamp as well as the steak he claimed it had been resting it’s the way they cook there steaks but I found it kinda crazy giving that kind of money for a steak just to be cold an flavorless the ended up taking the steaks off the bill and give us free dessert but it takes way too long for the staff todo just about anything I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you have got any other plans for the evening. We walked in around 8:15 Pm Saturday night and it’s now 10:22 way to entirely long for two people.
Where do I start? Well, me and my better half came here a year ago on our anniversary and the customer service was amazing! We had a specialized menu and a rose ready on our table waiting for us! Our waiter was very friendly and informative as it was our first time there. The steak was perfectly cooked (filet mignon and the wagyu) medium rare, and the sides were absolutely tremendous! Now a year later, (our anniversary again 😁) with COVID we are currently restricted from dining out at the moment due to our jobs. I went to cowboy star to pick up some steaks from the butcher shop not knowing they were closed on Mondays! I figured I would stop in and ask the host at the front what I could do. They were SO kind! She had one of their chefs bring me into the butcher and sell me the steaks anyway! And they were two BEAUTIFUL filet mignon cuts! I am not saying everyone should try this on purpose; I am just showing how sweet and customer friendly they are. I will be coming back far more often than just anniversaries from now on! THANK YOU!
Went here for our 3rd anniversary.. Set reservations online and called to make sure they knew it was a special night. As we got there, we were seated in a room off to the side with about 5 tables in the room. It was so freezing in the little room I had to keep my jacket on the entire time. Not one mention of our “special day” from any staff. My drink sat empty for a good 20/30 minutes. Finally the steaks came and they were amazing! Unfortunately they sat us next to a screaming toddler. I spent close to $200 on a two person date night to listen to a screaming child. No apologies no nothing. Here’s the check! I have children so it’s not like I’m against children. I was there to enjoy a date night in peace and was not able to do so. Between freezing and the screaming toddler I give 2stars. Food was good, service wasn’t anything above Texas Roadhouse. Like I said I went for our Anniversary and it wasn’t even mentioned once...
5 star for the food.4 stars for the service.Great ambience atmosphere!Food is absolutely amazing and the staff is very attentive, almost overbearing.Definitely go with the recommendations from your server.Service got a 4 just because my steak was cooked not how I asked it to be cooked. For the price of the place you kind of don’t want to send anything back.Other than that very nice place for a special occasion.
Amazing experience! Superb food and clean environment. The kitchen crew works in perfect precision and the waitstaff was very attentive. Reservations recommended because it is very popular. The ambience is wonderful. Treat yourself and your significant other to this excellent dining experience.
Service was amazing. Atmosphere was perfect. Steak was perfect. Best Brussel sprouts Ive had. The bacon appetizer was heavenly. Couldnt have enjoyed it more.
Best steakhouse in the city. Chris our lead server was terrific!Their executive chef could easily be the deck boss on a crab boat! Outstanding!
Amazing food and excellent service. We came here to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We ordered the ribeye and filet mignon. Both were so tender and cooked to perfection. We left with a special 25th anniversary menu as a keepsake and a long stem red rose plus a card signed by the staff. You dont see that level of detail or attention very often anymore and it was appreciated. No pictures, we were too busy eating before we even thought about it! LOL
Our 10th+ dining experience at Cowboy Star. It gets a rock-solid 5 stars for the exceptional beef, bison and (wait for it) scallops. That’s not something any other specialty steak place can say.The beef and bison are aged to perfection, so steak knives are pointless. EVERYTHING is done with attention to detail. Example: The asparagus spears had the chewy skins shaven off - tender delight right to the base. I love delicately steamed bright green broccolini. Done, perfectly! The serving sizes are very, very generous.I could go on about the desserts and the beverage menus, but a review is meant to be short and sweet. We take favored friends here.I’ll go out on a limb and tell you this is the best restaurant in Colorado Springs. Let the haters and baiters rage. ‘Nuff said.
Excellent food, atmosphere was very nice, waiter was pretty good but the staff was a little pushy. You couldnt even finish your food and they were trying to take your plates. Not a very relaxing atmosphere when your trying to have a nice dinner. It seemed as though they really didnt want us there. When you spend that much money $$$$ on a very expensive dinner, you should feel welcome and feel like your at least appreciated as a customer. Didnt feel that at all. If a good steak is what your looking for, they have good steaks. If your looking for a place where the staff acts like theyre doing you a favor by waiting on you, thats exactly what youll get here.
Very expensive, but very good quality. The charcuterie board was melt-in-your-mouth good. I just dont want to pay the exorbitant prices. The bar has some good happy hour specials though, so I will be back!
We are regulars here and the food is always delightful. Our recent visit, however, was very unpleasant. We called ahead for reservations and after arriving to the restaurant we’re told they lost our reservation and they only offered us seating at the chefs table. The entire meal there was empty tables we could have been seated at. In addition, we watched the chef drop a steak on the floor and plate it to serve afterwards. For over 500$ a meal, I’d like to be seated at the table I reserved and not watch the steak hit the floor. The food is definitely worth the money - the management not so much.
Went for my sons 35th birthday but he treated his brother and me, his mom. The kids got more bucks than the rest of us and has a heart as big as Colorado.😉Cowboy Star has the best meat Ive ever had and I have eaten all over the country and many European countries including Ital, France and Spain. Expensive? You bet. Dont think I have ever eaten in a place this pricey.But...you get what you pay for. Cooked to perfection and a flavor to make your tastebuds explode! Their drinks are the most unique Ive ever seen. Not much of a drinker but was seriously impressed. Using rustic and industrial architecture and decor was a perfect tone for this wonderful restaurant. Trust me when I say this was a cullinary and all around memorable experience.
What a supremely delightful experience at the Cowboy Star bartop I was spoken to by the manager, Ryan (he gave me his last name, but I cannot for the life of me remember it) as soon as I walked in. A gentleman of excellence who runs a GREAT shift.I had the privilege of having absolutely excellent bartenders to take care of me: the Lovely Jenna Painter: The New Up and Coming Miss Brittany McBain, and finally: The Man, The Myth, The Legend: Stephon Barnes.Talk about one hell of an experiene given by the best in the industry, complimented by one of the former best in the industry. If you want the best of the best, come to Cowboy Star with these folks.HEY CHEF! You have EXCELLENCE here, Sir.Reward it.
Jason was the best! So sweet and on top of it! Such a good vibe. Amazing happy hour.
Im only giving this 2 stars because the server was excellent! The beef tartar was okay, but we are pretty sure thats what made us sick all night into the next morning. I had the Japanese wagu and it was great, my husband had the American wagu and it wasnt cooked right, it was very charred on top. My husband let the server (and Im assuming the owner or manager on duty) know, so they cooked a new one and the same thing happened.. The manager just had excuse after excuse as to why the steak was charred. We could literally scrape it off with the knife. We are paying $140 for one steak, we want $140 worth of steak.for dessert I had the creme brulee and it wasvery bland, there wasnt a lot of brulee or flavor to it at all. Its a shame too because my husband went there with a friend about 2 weeks prior and loved it! He was so excited to take me and was very let down. No coupon, no compensation, nothing for the charred steak and had to pay full price. Probably wont be going back and spending another$400 at this place, but like I said, the server we had was excellent I just wish I remembered his name.
Decided to try something new, and was not disappointed! Polite staff, fantastic spinach artichoke dip (every bite was delicious) in which my fiance loved and she has never liked it anywhere else. I had the New York strip, so good that any kind of sauce would have ruined it. We will definitely return!
We absolutely 💘 this place and the reason is not only the top notch food every time,BUTJason & Melody are AMAZING servers who ALWAYS provide TOP notch service to us EVERY time we visit. THEY truly keep us coming back.Thank you for such great service every time we visit.
First off, the staff is great! Friendly and prompt. Great decor and layout! However, the food was not so good. All the sides, bread and deserts were awesome and full of flavor. But we both had steaks; filet mignon and the dry age rib chop. Though both visually cooked to Med rare, they were dry. That and the seasoning was bad that I couldn’t finish my steak. We’d love to come back but for the cost of about $90 a person, the steaks are just not worth it.
Awesome, as always outstanding service. Very nice works, they know how to make things for. The aged steak us out standing, my very favorite, very are always fresh, along with their wonderful mashed potatoes. Outstanding, live you guys.Keep up to good work.
Service was excellent and the food was really good. I do think that Texas Roadhouse had a better prime rib locally. The only reason why I gave it four stars is because of the prices. They seem a bit inflated but the food and service did justify the prices. Maybe it’s just me, but I think we will likely look elsewhere in the future.
BEST restaurant in town! Absolute pristine service. Stephan is one of the best bartender/waiters ever. The hostess are amazingly kind to accommodate for my baby boy. The food is outstanding! It is “our go to” for every date night and celebration. We absolutely love everything about it!
I rarely rate and review after a first visit but I had such a wonderful experience at Cowboy Star this evening that I want to recommend it to everyone. The service was top-notch, a mix of fun, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. (Shout out to Livingston who was a joy to speak to as he made our reservation, and team Gina/Katie who made sure we were well cared for and who treated us like friends) The food, much of which is locally sourced, was great - simple, not greasy or saucy, though you can make it saucy if you want, and flavorful. We started with the charcuterie board, which was enjoyable to assemble as well as to eat. For my main course, I had the steak salad because Gina recommended it and I am glad she did, it was so good. Mr. Husband had a ribeye steak cooked medium well (so gross!) (He liked it, though) and we split a side of crispy lemon Brussels sprouts. We didnt have room for dessert and left feeling full and satisfied but not sick. This would be a great place for a special occasion dinner or fancy date night. While the atmosphere is upscale, jeans and tee-shirts are not unwelcome. The bathrooms are cute and clean and there are double hooks, one high and one low, in the womens stalls. My first time at Cowboys Star was superb and I plan to return with friends. Highly recommended!
Phenomenal experience. Steven was an awesome waiter. He helped us have a great experience.
What a wonderful experience! It began with the warm reception we received when we walked in to celebrate our anniversary, chilled champagne and a rose waiting on our table with a card signed by the staff, and a personalized menu.We had great service by Shawn (Sean?) and Nick, and of course fantastic food. The evening was perfect!
We had a Wonderful experience, Excillent service, and food, our waiter Chris was Very Personable and Pleasant, made us feel Really at ease and at home. We Highly recommend this place for a Fine Dining Experience!
Wanted a great steak in Colorado Springs, was not disappointed. Well informed staff that wasn’t too pushy, or too absent. Every little bit of food was terrific, nothing was taken for granted. We were seated within 60 seconds of our reservation time. Some of the hardest work wait staff, chefs, and line cooks I’ve ever observed.
Excellent food. We had Katie as our waitress and she was AWESOME. Made the whole experience SO great! Such a great server. Very friendly, lively and informative about the menu. We definitely will be back and request her as our waitress if that is an option.
My wife and I ate here for our honeymoon and we had an incredible experience! Our waitress Rachel was outstanding and the food was remarkable! Every bite had you saying, “Mmmm!” We will definitely be back.
It was my wedding anniversary and i requested a booth with the reservation as they have beautiful booths and instead sat us next to a table of 8, so of course the waiter promptly ignored us. I saw two other couples having anniversaries get the booth seats i requested and i could tell they were being taken care, wedding anniversary was ruined, our waiter just sucked and kept making mistakes like giving my wife a $96 4 oz steak she didnt order, waiter blamed her, didnt take our drink order or give us menus for almost 15 minutes while he attended to the table of 8, forgot our drinks, forgot straws, stole our bread. Last time we had the best experience ever, tonight was one of the worst. You dont sit a couple having an anniversary next to a table of 8, you put everyone in a bad position. Thanks for a bad night, u can keep ur signed menus.
We had a wonderful experience at Cowboy Star. It was my Birthday and our anniversary. They made us feel so special with a card and rose. The food was perfect and so delicious.
We made reservations and went here on a Saturday evening, which was busy but fortunately not so loud we couldnt hear. Our server, who I embarrassingly cannot remember the name of, was very quick, attentive, informative, and had a fantastic attitude. She definitely made our experience go from great to top notch. We each ordered the dry-aged ribchop, brussel sprouts, mushrooms and cocktails. The drinks were tasty (the sangria is amazing and fruity). The steaks we ordered were brought by the table for us to see before they would hit the grill, which was a nice touch for steak lovers. We were given a small appetizer which was blue cheese, bacon and breading that was fantastic and a nice palate tease. The bread was good and not super sweet like some breads. The steaks were phenomenal, cooled perfectly, seared perfectly and with a great aged taste. The brussel sprouts in honey glaze and mushrooms were also fantastic - seasoned very well with nothing over powering. This was a great experience and one I look forward to having again. Great job, Cowboy Star.
Best steaks in town. Superb service.
Our favorite steakhouse/ hangout in the springs! We love the staff, our food is always cooked to perfection and cocktails are always on point ♥️
Best happy hour, best wait staff, great quality food. Every single time.
The Cowboys Star restaurant is a bit expensive but I can guarantee that they dont disappoint in any areas of emphasis. My waitress Becca was wonderful last night. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and more. Dont put a price on your stomach ladies or gentlemen, go to the Cowboys Star and experience a wonderful and memorable dining out!!
Our first visit! The Sommelier helped my husband select a bottle of wine. We prefer Italians but the restaurant only carries Domestics. We had hope to try Colorado Wagyu, but they had run out of the smaller cuts. Our 8oz Filet was wonderful (served w mashed and broccolini.) We finished w Creme Brule and Port wine. This was a fantastic find!
Fantastic. What a great meal. Apps, drinks, entrees, desserts, and top notch service.
Amazing service. Friendly staff. Spinach/artichoke dip is amazing. Steak is always cooked to perfection every time.
Great food and great service. The drinks were strong and the atmosphere was comfortable.
I have to say, I’m surprised to be saying this but I had the best porterhouse I’ve ever had in my life here.I only say I’m surprised because I’ve been to some very exclusive steak restaurants. The 40 ounce porterhouse was cooked perfectly and was very high quality. My fiancé and I shared it and had no intention of finishing the steak. Regardless, we finished it and we will definitely return.
I am a foodie from Chicago. I have to tell you. You need to visit this place. We got a recommendation from Jeff at the Marriott. What a great steer.I started with The Duke for a cocktail. Outstanding. In our party was on menu steak, scallops and bison. All fantastic. I went off menu. Wagu skirt. Unbelievable. I recommend this place to all foodies who find themselves in Colorado Springs. Our servers (all three) were fantastic. They knew the menu.Had the food gras as an app. Wonderful. I would invite any group of friends, foodie or not.
First time in for husbands birthday. EXCELLENT service by Rebecca. Steak cooked to perfection. Appetizers, drinks, and the rest of the food was amazing. Nice, quiet ambiance. Totally worth the money. Wonderful experience and we will definitely be back!
This is a high end steakhouse with prices to match. The hostess was super friendly and accommodating. She noted that I was wearing black slacks and gave me a black napkin. Impressive. Our server was clearly a sommelier. Being a wino, I loved that. But we had water and wine a lengthy 10-15 minutes before any one else was served a cocktail. Cocktails (Manhattan, Old Fashioned, Broken Arrow) were creative, top-notch.Every member of our party of 6 ordered beef. (I might have ordered scallops or salmon, but was not allowed to substitute sides, so ruled out those 2 options.). 3 of us had filet which was truly out of this world. One ordered Le Burger, the other 2 shared the Porterhouse. All beef was truly outstanding. I specifically ordered mine rare to just barely medium rare and got exactly what I wanted. Truffle fries, sour cream/onion mashed potatoes, celery root purée and foie gras were very good. Caesar salads surprised us with anchovies. Bread pudding was exemplary.4 stars because service was slow and lacked attentiveness at the appropriate level for this class of restaurant. Because there are many people who are happy to stay home collecting unemployment, there was not enough staff.
This is the highest quality service, foood and drink location in all of colorado springs. It is not just an incredible meal, but also an experience that everyone should have. The service, community and chefs are all top notch!
I went there with my fiancé and we had the best time. The food was immaculate! Our server, Rebecca, was also so kind and attentive. A bit pricey, but worth every penny.
Two stars is probably a bit generous, but the server did a good job... Beyond that, there were several problems that made this experience pretty poor:#1. When making reservations on the website, they ask if there is a special request/occasion. We listed that it was celebrating a start to a new career, and wanted a nicer table. They stuck me and my wife in the absolute worst table at the restaurant, right next to the server station where we could hear the gossip and constantly had employees walking by and standing right next to us. We asked if we can get one of the THREE open booths instead. Manager says No, we have larger parties coming. Ok understandable I suppose. Well within 20 min, they sat all three booths with parties of two! So much for larger parties...#2. They only allowed happy hour drinks to be ordered directly from the bar. So I go up to the bar and try to order one, but was stopped by the manager before I even made it there. She says we dont allow anyone to stand at the bar due to COVID... Ok, fine I understand. Can I order the happy hour drinks from my table then? The answer was no, lol. Sweet.#3. I ordered my steak medium-rare, and my wife ordered hers medium-well. Her steak comes out almost uncooked, it looked less than rare and made mine look overcooked. We point it out, and the server is very apologetic and offers to take it back to be cooked longer... Well It comes out burnt. At that point I just wanted to leave, so did not bother complaining. They had dropped the ball plenty of times by that point that I had 0 faith in them, particularly management.I spent over $250 at this restaurant on dinner for a party of TWO, and was completely unimpressed and almost insulted. Why would they ask if theres a special occasion if they dont intend to accommodate you in any way? They didnt offer anything to make the experience worthwhile, no complimentary wine tasting, no mini dessert, nothing at all. Couldnt even fulfill a simple request of a nice table (which was requested both before and during dinner, btw). This restaurant costs just as much as the other high-end steakhouses in COS, but couldnt hold a candle to any one of them. I will probably never eat here again.
Great food and excellent service! Will return.
What a wonderful dining experience... Thank you!
Great happy hour and had a great dining experience at the chefs table.
My wife and I ate here Saturday night for our anniversary and I have nothing but great things to say about this place. The service was top notch, they personalized our menu with a Happy Anniversary along with a card signed by all the staff and a rose. The server was wonderful. The food was amazing and the overall experience just left us in awe. Especially these days with the Covid Restrictions it feels like the level of service at most places has plummeted, not here. Cowboy Star shone brightly with every aspect of our dining experience.
The quality of meat from the restaurant is top notch, if the butcher shop sells the same its worth the visit. The service and staff were great. Now for the flavor, I (so did my wife and kids) personally felt the steaks were over seasoned (heavy on the pepper). When we grill we season to enhance the flavor, not completely change it. My youngest daughter is an A-1 fanatic, she said their house sauce was A LOT better. Would I eat here again? Possibly. Would I purchase steaks to grill myself? If the butcher shop sells the same as whats served 100% yes.
Excellent in every way! Look forward to visiting there again!Great job!
Fantastic food, great service. Highly recommend!
Wife and I just recently visited for happy hour in the bar area. Totally enjoyed ourselves. Great drinks, food and service. Thanks Stephon and Tammy!
The food was super appetizing. The service was very welcoming and observant. The bill was well within reason for the quality. I see why this place has so many great reviews.
My wife and I loved it. Great quality meat and the service is just outstanding. The servers are just amazing. We ate NY strip steak aged 21 days and it was just breath talking. Awesome
Jenna & Stephon are awesome services are great, never had a porter house you can cut with a fork keep up the great work!
Very good food. Relaxing atmosphere
Had a great birthday dinner! The American Wagyu NY strip was delicious and the chocolate chip bread pudding was amazing!
Everything was great. Service, steaks, seafood, and drinks.
This place haven’t lost its touch the best steak I ever had in my life
