The gentleman who helped us out was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
The 2 cashiers were tied up with grumpy older customers upset about coupons. After 15 min when I got up there one of the items I was purchasing did not have the barcode. I had to leave so I couldnt purchase them. I was just there at the wrong time.... wah wah.
The employees were very nice and helpful as always.
Olaplex hair care is fricking amazing but expensive and can only be found in Sephora.
Yay! At this Pennys they open more registers when a line forms! Good job team! As always, great products.
Very helpful even when you know little about makeup
Very neat place and customer service is the best. Good products and great options for the whole family.
Good selection and lots of fun products.
I always feel pressured when I go there.
Staff were unbelievably helpful and knowledgeable! Spent money on cosmetics that are actually good for your skin with amazing results! Wont EVER go to big name store to purchase cosmetics that dont really work and you shouldnt either! Have some fun and treat yourself to some products that actually do what they promise!
This store is way over priced! For what they charge does a guarantee come with those clothes! Couldnt get any help, no service! For that price you would think the employees would jump to help you find what you need. I probably shouldnt even give them 2 stars.
Mia and another tall gentleman I forgot his name but his makeup was on point, anyways they gave the best experience I have ever had going into a sephora!! Above and beyond and I would recommend them a 1,000 times!
Didnt have any of the items I wanted and with only one person working, it was long & frustrating to get simple assistance
A little disappointed that I didnt find what I was looking for! 🥺👍
My favorite make up store!!
The JCPenney was nice, well organized. However when shopping around I didnt see many folks to ask questions to. Angel in the mens department was nice and helpful though.
She was very pleasant
I think they must sell expired cosmetics.
We visited JCPenney to buy some clothes and were pleasantly surprised at the variety and selection available. Easy process and checkout.
The gentlemen was really pushey and I actually purchased a $12 eyebrow pencil when I really didnt even need it..
I love love love this place they always help me the 2 women that are in there O my God I love them this is the best place I am allergic to everything and I am not allergic to your make up my love love love you guys
The clerk was very knowledgeAble and helpful. She also had background information on products.
Love this shop ! Everyone always so happy and helpful
Staff was super excited to help out!
Very knowledgeable employees!
Nice, courteous, and knowledgeable staff. TY!
I’m usually just in and out cause I know what I want. Super small but cute and the staff is always nice. The products I get usually only have one left for purchase, but I don’t know if that’s on purpose to keep track of stock, or if it’s not a popular item. Either way, they always have what I’m looking for and help me when I need it.
The manager Sydney has wonderful customer service. A small store but every time I go I leave pleased.
Limited selections very small
Friendly, attentive, patient, and knowledgeable staff. Helped me a bunch without trying to upsell me on everything. Asked good questions to get a sense of what I needed to buy and gave me enough information that I was able to make an informed decision without feeling rushed.
Pricey
Thank goodness I don’t solely rely on reviews to make decisions. I just left this store and the staff were beyond helpful. I had no makeup on and looked like I just woke up. No judgement here. Great conversation, education, and support regarding my makeup needs. My only complaint? This location doesn’t carry Kiehl’s, which is no fault of the staff. Thank you. I’ll be back.
Helpful employees
My first experience with this store was coming in to return make up items I ordered online and to get in store help since I wasn’t having luck. I don’t think the lady listened to what I was saying I wanted and the problems I was having. I came back in the next day to return the foundation the gal said I should (too drying). The FIRST thing the employee said when I entered the store was “more returns?”. Very rude. So rude that I sent my husband back to return a few more items (the ones the lady recommended in store but did not work for me atall) and she was very rude with him as well. Won’t be going back there again.
I was hesitant to even come to this store due to the reviews, however my experience here was the total opposite. I was greeted immediately upon steppin in the store, and the sales rep that helped me named Audrea was awesome. Very polite, knowledgeable and total pleasure to work with. My second experience was even better. I dont know if they got new employees but the women here are awesome.
I called to check in-store availability of a product on a Monday afternoon. The phone rang through three times and cycled back to the JC Penny options before someone answered. When they did, I didn’t even finish my sentence before I got cut off and told it wasn’t there. I get not wanting to waste time, but I didn’t even finish the brand’s name before I was shut down. Not really great customer service, especially after waiting five minutes to get ahold of someone.
Two women w white hair that were working this evening were rude an not helpful by any means. I went in looking for derma blend an they said they didnt carry it an didnt even offer to help me find something else or tell me of another product close to what I was looking for. They were to BUSY CHATTING W EACH OTHER to give customer service!!! I will stick w ULTA they r much more professional an helpful.
The customer service is usually pretty good in here. Today, I tried to purchase two items. They were out of both and didnt know when they would receive a shipment of either.
Dont go here if you expect employees to be kind and helpful. They will only speak to you if you have two pounds of makeup on your face. If not they act like youre below them and helping you is an insult to them.
Wanted to share what happened to me today while shopping for makeup with one of my girlfriends. I went to Sephora today to check out some recommended foundations. I was told by the beauty consultant after she picked a few colors that were really dark, and the other orange on me, that she didnt have any foundation there to match my skin tone. I was dumbfounded. Thinking really with all the variety here not 1 foundation in the whole store to match me. I still have so many emotions going thru me. I just wanted to yell.... But thats not me. Of course I walked out empty handed. If I could give zero stars I would.
Went in today to return a cologne I bought online off of the Sephora site with my JCPenney credit card. The spray part of the product was broken. Had a hard time convincing them to return the item and on top of that I can not return anything for 180 days. Thats what I call poor customer service.
It was what youd expect in the store
Horrible customer service. Was there today with my infant son and got ignored. Waited 10 minutes to check out and when the older sales lady finally came up to the cash and acknowledged me to cash me out she put another customer in front of me and told me I had to wait!! I dropped my items and walked out. Way to treat your customers. Will not be returning here.
Super helpful staff.
So let me start by saying, I prefer Sephora to Ulta. The only thing I dont like about this store is... If I walk in makeupless and looking rough, they arent as kind -getting help from them seems inconvenient. Also, they arent great listeners. They know what they like and push that, which is totally fine BUT I end up returning a lot of my purchases. They are also a little quick to color match me, so I think that aides in my returns. In the end, I would still shop here over Ulta. The girls are more knowledgeable about select products. Plus I rarely see girls with good make up at Ulta. How can I take advice from someone whose makeup oxidized and separating ?!
Terrible!! I stopped in to buy some Sephora powder and forgot my color. I asked them if they could look it up, and they don’t even have the capability of looking up my previous purchases past three months. At any real Sephora store they can look it up no matter what. I asked her if she could call the other store and look up that way, so she did. I got my color but then they don’t even carry that color at the JCPenney Sephora! And instead of offering to order it for me online, she suggested that we are just gonna have to play around with the other colors. When you’re talking about make up, who does that! I had to demand that no I want it ordered and sent to my house. She treated me as though I was an inconvenience, and not being flexible for getting another color. I asked her if she worked for Sephora or jcpennys. Of course it was JCPenney‘s, why would a clothing store be given the responsibility to hire and train makeup people. I will never shop here again and drive the 20 minutes across town to go to a real Sephora store!!
The customer service is terrible, I didnt even get talked to for at least ten min of milling around. When I finally was approached I asked how I use my Sephora play card and they had no idea, nor did they care just scanned it for the points. Then when they were out of a product there was no movement or answer when it would be in. I also asked about the deluxe size sample when you spend $25 but they had nothing and looked at me like I was crazy for even asking! I had a birthday gift so I just bought something small and got out of there! No offer of a sample of the product I was looking for and they dont even use the Sephora bag anymore, just a cheapie plastic bag. I went in there intending to spend a good amount of money but decided to go to Ulta where they dont treat customers so poorly, VERY Disappointed!!! Wont be going back.
Its in a JC Pennys what do you expect? Its really not the full store. They have when I need when I have my eye on something. Helpful employees too.
I prefer the Sephora up at the Promenade Shops at Briargate over this one. This one isnt bad per se, but its smaller and has a much more limited selection of products, only one or two people to help you (and those on the salesfloor are also running the register, so you may have a wait), and it feels very cramped. I havent had anything really noteworthy happen here, good or bad, but I just dont enjoy the experience at this one quite as much.
I signed up with 2 accounts and it were locked with no reason. So I cant check out and call hotline but nothing better. Are you running a business with bad online service and several products just be selled by online way ?
Very nice and friendly
Wish there was an option of zero stars. Everytime I go in there I see 2 or 3 workers just sitting there. Not asking if I need help. Acting like I am inconveniencing them for asking for help. I wish there was another one closer to me instead of having to go to this one or driving all the way up north.
Staff is amazing
Not good customer care compare to Briargate branch.
I would give this Sephora a 5 stars, but they are usually out of stock on A LOT of products and customer service is a hit or miss.
I have given this location a few tries and it has let me down every single time.... I dont appreciate being talked to like an ignorant individual....
Anjelica at this location is a miracle worker! Thank you, Anjelica!
The employees are TRASH ... was in the store for 20 minutes & never got help walked out!Wont be back
Dont go here if you are truly looking for help/ costumer service.
Worst customer service.
Always nice
This store is always out of everything!
