My husband and I have used A & L Home Improvement for over thirty years. I worked with the father in the late 1980s when we put new siding and windows on our first home. Since that time we have worked with the son, Chad, and used them for windows and a metal awning at two of our single family rentals. We just completed the removal of an evaporative cooler from the kitchen window of one of our rentals and installed air conditioning in the home by an AC contractor. A & L not only installed a new kitchen window to match the existing bathroom window (which had been replaced at least 8 years earlier by them), but they also had the same siding to match the repairs necessary. The schedule took a few weeks to accommodate having all the materials necessary, and the job itself took less than 3 hours. The crew, Shawn, Brian and Mike did a super job and even texted me pictures so I could see the immediate completion. I cannot say enough good things about this company and their integrity. Nell M.

Definitely the best decision I made.Chad (the president of the company) came out and did my initial estimate. Hes a super friendly guy who lays out the estimate really well, with no hidden costs. In other words, it included the price of the door AND install - great price too. In the end, the estimate was almost spot on with the final cost. It took about a month for them to receive the sliding door from the company they ordered from due to COVID, but Chad was more than willing to answer my emails about the estimated install date as we closed in on his time frame he gave me during his initial estimate.Today 11/16/20 was the install date. I had some super friendly, respectful, and detail oriented guys come out - Shawn, Mike, and Gary. They were very speedy with the install, however took their time in making sure it was done right. They did a fantastic job with removal and installing the new door without damaging any of the outdoor siding or interior walls. Im really impressed and happy with the job they did. Bonus: they even sealed some of my linoleum flooring (that needs replacing) that was coming up at the base of the door.If/when we decide to replace some windows in our home down the road I will definitely be reaching out to A & L again and recommending them to friends, family, and neighbors in the meantime! We were in a pinch with a timeline and they came through! Went to purchase parts for a window repair. Josh went above and beyond the call of duty in helping me get the needed parts. Absolutely fantastic customer service. Ordered an awning. No follow up. Material was backordered for 3 months, but the problem was that after they received it, 3 weeks went by and no phone calls for installation. I have called this company 5+ times trying to find out what is going on, and they never return phone calls. At this rate, my sunsetter awning will be installed in time for winter.

We were told when we ordered our awning on May 6 that it was going to be installed in 6 weeks. Well, that has come and gone and the only updates we have gotten is from my husband calling them. They have never called us with any update in the installation date. VERY disappointed.

The crew, Gary, Mike & Shaun got to the house early, a plus in my book. They were courteous and friendly and very professional. They protected my wood floors in the work area, removed my pitiful window covering and offered to put it back ( I declined because it really needed to be torn down). Because of the banging, the portrait on the wall was carefully removed to avoid possible damage should it fall. I had several screens replaced and was confused on which ones needed replacing. Right after Gary installed a screen, I discovered I told him to replace the screen in the wrong window. He graciously switched the screens out - no look of frustration on his face. They were in & out In about an hour. All that to say it was a wonderful experience and I will be calling on A & L Home Improvement in the future.

This was a great experience all around, from the consultation/estimate through the installation.It all began when we broke our sliding patio screen door and damaged some other parts of the track/trim work in the process of trying to fix it ourselves. We called several other contractors for estimates before A&L, most of which insisted the entire patio door would have to be replaced, rather than repairing/replacing the screen door as we were wanting. Unlike the others, A&Ls estimator (Dave?), thought a screen door replacement was perfectly feasible.Aside from having a can do attitude, I really liked that he focused solely on the patio door, which is what I called him out to look at. One of the other contractors looked at it for all of 30 seconds, then spent 20 minutes wondering around our house critiquing the condition of our other doors and windows. A service that was unsolicited and completely unappreciated.In the end, it turned out the cost of repairs (with a new screen door) was going to be roughly 1/3 of the cost of a total replacement. Even though the old 23 year-old door still worked, we decided it wasnt worth putting that much into as it was showing signs of deterioration and would have likely needed replacing in the next few years anyway. But I want to emphasize that A&L never brought up a patio door replacement until we asked. Our decision was made under no pressure from them whatsoever.Once our door came in from the manufacturer, they got us on the schedule almost immediately. The installers (Mike, Gary, Sean) arrived exactly when they were scheduled. They were friendly, competent and wasted no time getting the job done. Im not sure it took them a whole 1.5 hours, and our door was oversized and extremely heavy (both the old and new). They did an excellent job with the installation. Very clean. The door looks and works great.Bottom line: I really like how these folks do business. I thought the pricing was reasonable, all the employees in the company I interacted with were very friendly and knowledgeable and they were willing to be creative and provide an alternative solution to my problem, rather than insisting there was only one way (the most expensive way) to get the job done. I highly recommend.

We hired A&L years ago to replace some old single pane windows with Pella Impervia double hung windows, and were very pleased with the job they did. So, when it came time to replace some other windows in our home, A & L was the first place we thought of. They estimated replacing four casement windows and a 4-piece casement bay window. We had the bay window replaced this summer, and are very pleased with the end result. It turns out that the old bay had been installed incorrectly (it was not properly supported), and the crew from A & L took the time to explain the problem to us and ensure that the new install was correct and properly supported. We are very pleased with the job they did, and will continue to work with them for the rest of our window needs.

Sean and Mikes crew removed one glass door and two side window panels prior to installing a new three panel sliding glass door, all in 4-5 hours from start to finish. They showed up on time and were professional and courteous. I highly recommend A&L Home Improvement for excellent work done at a fair price. The estimate for the labor and product was less than half of what I got from another bid. I plan on using the crew to replace three other large windows and install a two panel sliding glass door in place of old French doors in the next 6-12 months.

Needed a shower door installed and started the process with A&L Home improvement. They sent a guy out who took some measurements and left us with a brochure. No glass samples, no coating options etc. After a week had gone by I still had no quote from A&L. Finally after several calls to their office I got a quote. We responded to the quote with some questions. Vertical measurements were not right and we wanted a different type of glass (not clear). Never received an updated quote..Spoke to Enrique a couple of times and he said all the right things but once again he never followed up and got me an updated quote. Tried to get Chad to call me but Im not sure my messages ever got to him. Was going to have them do 2 other shower doors plus my front door along with a storm door, but after this that would be foolish on my part.

This may turn into a long review, but this is totally worth taking my time with since they were absolutely incredible! So were under contract to sell our town home and everything is set for signing this Wednesday. Ive called two different window companies and both came out and it became very clear that they did not want to do the work because it wasnt where the money is. We even called a window guy our realtor suggested with equal results. At least that guy was nice enough to recommend someone else those someone being A&L home improvement. By this point were less than a week from signing and the pressure is immensely on. I called A&L bracing myself for them telling me what everyones been saying, that itll be 1-1.5 weeks out for scheduling. I should mention that when I called I spoke with Mikayla. As expected they did say that - very understandable - but said that I could get on their ca elation list or call list. I tentatively did because this was my last hope to get it all done before closing. During the next few days, Mikayla stayed in contact with me keeping me updated the whole way. She is the best receptionist Ive ever had the pleasure of working with: she completely empathized with my feelings of panic, assured me they would get to me and was so very professional and thoughtful through the whole thing.It didnt take long for me to get scheduled in and the window guy they sent, Josh, was even more amazing: he actually touched the Windows when he showed up (first and second guy only looked). He knew immediately what needed to be done and to my surprise he actually reset our second window back on its tracks right then and there and didnt give me a story about why he couldnt. This is above and beyond since I was only expecting an estimate that day and nothing yet to be done. By him doing this showed his quality as a human being and amazing worker. It helped reduce my stress tremendously and I didnt even have to ask him to do that. Josh also seemed to truly know his stuff and was incredibly professional but also very pleasant and comfortable to converse with. Im currently pregnant with another baby girl and it was very nice to hear about his experience with having two girls of his own.Anywho guys, I highly HIGHLY recommend this place. They had all of the parts in stock (our windows are old), they were honest, professional, knowledgeable, and as far as price is concerned, I would have happily paid them more but they asked for what was fair. I had A&L install a new glass shower door for me last week. They did a wonderful job. I am extremely pleased. The quality of the door is excellent and the workmanship could not be better. Their staff is the BEST at helping not just civilians :-) but people that are in the business of home improvement to serve our own customers. Hard-to-find parts, creative solutions to interesting problems, outstanding customer service... even for a business that technically could be viewed as a competitor... WOW. A&L truly cares about the Colorado Springs residents that look to them for their home improvement needs. Thanks A&L and staff for helping me to do my job better... AND doing it with a smile!

Working with A&L Aluminum has been such an encouraging experience! I needed 20 window screens for my 1930’s house and from the first call Enrique was very helpful and accommodating:-He helped me plan best product for best price-Screens were completed earlier than promised.-He went out of his way to deliver ASAP what I thought I could transport in my van.-Joshua Sage delivered the screens and he took his time to help me make sense of my measurements 🤪.I will always recommend their services to anyone I know!

Shawn and his crew replaced 2 sliding patio doors and a front door with side glass panels. They worked quickly and professionally and made sure I was pleased and knew how to use them. I will use them again when I need windows or doors!

A&L installed my siding and windows back in 2003. They have repaired my house twice due to major hail damage. They always do great work. The last team that came out lead by Andrew (Foreman) did a great job. House looks even better now. JTreat

A & L Home Improvement is the best!Last summer, I experienced hail damage to my home. The damage was so extensive that it destroyed 7 windows. Being in the insurance industry, I have many contacts but no one that specialized in window replacement. I received a referral from a friend who suggested that I contact A&L Home Improvement.A & L came to my home, measured and suggested a model that was similar to the window that was in the home. They gave me a reasonable quote and told me that they would be in within 6 weeks. True to their word, I got a call as week 6 came up that they were ready to install. Installation was amazing and the team did a great job.Highly recommend these guys as I found them to be fair, honest and didnt try to sell me something I didnt want. I hope to never have to go through another hail claim but if I do and have windows that need replacing, I know where I am going.
