Made an appointment to bring my car in for a wheel balance. i explained I got new tires and rims shipped to me and I installed them. They were way out of balance and I took them to a tire place for balancing. Although better, there was still some vibration. IAT checked things out and felt it was still just a tire balance issue. I asked them to do it and I was told it would be done first thing this morning. Went to pick it up at 1pm and it wasnt ready. Very disappointed and I just took the car.

55 days and didnt complete what I asked and 0 call backs after promising to 4 or 5 times. They also managed to break my powered mirror by somehow ripping the mirror from the electronics. When I brought the car in, I specifically asked for 3 things. 1: install lower dashboard. 2: rotate tires as specified. 3: drop transmission to change real main seal and so I could inspect the clutch and clutch fork. Instead of the rotation, they tried sell me new tires, citing unsafe tread. We walked out there together and saw the tread was clearly above wear lines. Please note, my car has about 1.5° of negative camber on it, so the inside and outside of the tires wear independently, thus the special rotation I asked for. For some reason, they were diagnosing my clutch hydrolics and it sounded like trying to install new parts. I didnt ask for that. I already knew something was up with the clutch fork (and told them about it) not the hydrolics and I needed a new rear main seal anyway. So, I simply wanted the transmission dropped to so I could see whats going on. I have done this myself in the past and its less than a 4hr job on jack stands with hand tools, not sure why it was too much for them to handle. Over the 55 days, I called in every week to ask for an update usually hearing some excuse about some difficulty or during the first month they hadnt started on it yet. At that point I had enough, so I came in and asked them to stop work and Ill take it home where Ill do it myself. To their credit, they did install the lower dashboard and were polite when talking with me. Overall I was very dissatisfied and wont be a returning customer. If theyd like to call back for once and reimburse for a junkyard mirror Ill be happy to update my review.

Bought a car. They said theyd fill up the tank before I left since I was overpaying for it. I asked about the underinflated tires but, according to the sales guy I know this car and it drives better that way. Had to buy new tires in under a month. Then they got annoyed that I was frustrated that they didnt follow through on the promise of a tank of gas the day I bought it. Ok cheap car, bad service.

I brought my Jeep in on an appointment to get the AC fix during this appointment. Note that this was the third time taking it in for this issue. This time they were going to replace the evap core that can be found behind the dash. My Jeep stays there for a week only to be told they will have to break the box, which holds the evap core and heater core, to get to the evap core. There are 5-6 nuts that hold the box from the firewall that Trent was unable to remove because some were rusted. First of all, what kind of full service shop cannot remove rusted nuts? Communication was poor to say the least because I was not told what was going on, kept being put on hold, was told I would receive multiple call backs (did not happen), and was only able to speak to Shawn, the service manager once to be told that they would need the Jeep over the weekend to finish on Monday. Nothing happened, it was not finished and Trent managed to rip a hole in my firewall by the battery. I was not told of this new issue nor was there an offer to get it fixed, most likely because someone was told it was already there or figured I would not see it.Don’t go here folks. They are going through changes and have too many excuses with no solutions.

Made an appointment just short of 2 weeks ago for a transmission service. Took it in on time today, and asked if I could also get my fuel filter replaced. I brought the new filter. They said yes. That was 10am. When I made the appointment the guy at the counter said it should take an hour to an hour and a half. I waited until 3pm to check on the car to see if it was finished. They tell me theyre behind and that I could come get the car, or leave it over the weekend and theyd get to it first thing Monday morning. They offered a discount but didnt say how much. I just now picked up the car and ill schedule with some one else. They could have let me know earlier, and not wasted my whole day off. Not professional at all.

Import Auto Technicians is an exceptional shop, with exceptional staff. Steve has continuously gone above and beyond, taking the time to take care of me. They have provided great value and excellent service. I can’t be thankful enough for people like them, who make the experience of owning an import a very enjoyable one.

Ive been taking my vehicles here for years. Over the years Ive taken my vehicles to other places and its just not the same. I’ve had my BMW in there twice. Each time has been a wonderful experience with Steve. They are honest and let you know what exactly what is going on. I never felt I was being ripped off by Import Auto, unlike a different Import shop that serviced the same vehicle. Import Auto provides transportation to your home, so you don’t have to wait, and will pick you up when the vehicle is ready, again, unlike the other Import shop.Import Auto Technicians will also be the main service provider for my Lexus.

I got a car from the place next door and drove it off with the hopes nothing was wrong with the vehicle immediately I had a blown head gasket and broken knock sensor they fixed the car for half price I appreciated that.

I take all my vehicles to Steve and have always received great service. He does everything possible to get parts at a reasonable price and communicates what service is recommended before performing the work. An honest and high integrity shop - which is hard to find these days! I am especially grateful as I am a woman who owns four vehicles, and while I probably know a little more about cars than an average female, I am impressed by the straightforward communication and the quality work done by Steve and all the employees at Import Auto.

I took my Twin Turbo AMG S550 4 matic Mercedes ( I only mention this so you know Im very particular where I take this kind of car)to Steve and after using the Mercedes dealership for years and feeling like they were telling me theyre fixing things that dont need it, I decided to try this shop since they had such high reviews and I am very glad that I did. My 19 year old son and 3 friends were driving through on a road trip from Texas when the maintenance light came on in his 4runner, indicating oil change is needed. I have a set of trusted independent shops in Austin I use for our Toyotas so I anxiously searched for a shop that looked trustworthy in Colorado Springs. The AAA app led me to Import Auto, and reviews and bbb were favorable. I called and spoke with Steve. They got him in for an oil change that afternoon and treated him very well!He and his friends were able to continue on to RMNP and Estes Park, among other places, without car drama and are already safely back in Texas. Everything is still great with the 4runner - thank you Steve and team!If you find yourself on the road and in a jam, or you are looking for a trusted local shop, I would definitely give Import Auto Technicians a chance.

Yeah import auto technicians are really great. I usually have a really great stuff of people. And if you have a Mini Cooper the really awesome for that too. My mom has one and shes had two had some work done and some of it was actually other things like how long was it from an accident and they said I might want to call your insurance about it. Because they realize that somebody had bumped into her. Plus another one was something that was covered under warranty for a recall.

Cant say enough good things about this place. Everyone has the knowledge about cars here and theres no steering you in the wrong direction to just get business. They tell it like it is and get to the point. Love their honesty and kind ways.

Lost the OEM engine cover from my car and acted as if it was never there. Wanted to charge me $4,000 for a repair they ended up charging my insurance company $2,000 for. Pay attention to pricing and your cars parts. They were so polite and knowledgeable, so it was really surprising.

Import Auto did a great job working on our Jeep. They figured out what was wrong with the heater fan and got it fixed it in a timely manner so My son could make it back to school. I also got four new tires at a fair price. The price was similar to the other tire stores but they were also able to do the alignment so I did not have to take it to another store. Years ago under the original owner this shop was amazing. great customer service, accurate repairs, they washed and vacuumed my BMW when i would bring it in. Ali would even let me talk to the mechanic who was working on my car. The last year or so has not been a good one with this shop. I could go into further details but it would be a waste of breath. If you need work done on your European car do not bring it here. all of the good guys they had working here left when the original owner died.

I love this company! They fixed an electrical problem in our Volvo last Fall--they are very affordable and trustworthy (no up-selling). Mike reset my airbag sensor at no charge a few weeks ago! I will be bringing these guys all of my business in the future!

I limped into Colorado Springs with engine problems. AAA towed it to Import Auto that night. Engine work was completed the next morning at a very reasonable price sooner and cheaper than estimated, and the car was washed. I got a full (and friendly) explanation of all the work that was done. The car is running great.

Good people and service but $250 for an hour of work is a little steep

I went to this shop to trouble shoot a lighting issue with my tail light. Thier mechanics couldnt figure out the issue, and provided a generic answer to my problem. They didnt even put my trunk paneling back on, leaving it for me to put on. Dont waste your time at this shop...

My 330xi was damaged to the tune of a $2,200 job after hitting a pothole on Platte Ave in n Colorado Springs. Steve and Mike have been professional, informative and have bent over backwards to make sure the car operates properly. I recommend the company, hands down.

Worked with Rick on the sales side. Not only was it difficult to test drive with him, but once I did he had a general lack of knowledge of the vehicle. He just kept bragging about how many cars he sells. I decided to proceed and he then said he had incorrectly priced the car. “My bad, it was a typo”. I get that sometimes that happens, but I had specifically clarified the price during our test drive. I told him I didn’t understand and he got very defensive and said that since I don’t trust him he wouldn’t want to work with someone like me and would no longer sell me the car. Wow. Just wow.

These gentlemen are very friendly, and helpful. They dont try and make things up about whats wrong with your car like many other shops. Their pricing is fair and they guarantee their work.

I have been trusting my vehicles to Import Auto Technicians since 2001 and have always received quality work. Customer service is outstanding and reliable advice is always provided on repair work or general vehicle questions.

The quoted me $790 for a transmission fluid change. Everywhere else has quoted be under $500. Ill be taking my business else where.

I took my mini there for some maintenance and diagnostics and they ordered the wrong parts. They said they had ordered the right parts and would call me when they came in. I never received a call and this process was repeated in similar fashion at least twice. Finally, I ordered the part they thought was broken and used a Bentleys to put it in myself. Im still having the same issues and this part was very plug/play. In turn this means their diagnostics were incorrect. I will not be going to Import Auto Technicians every again nor will I recommend them to anyone. Maybe the diagnostics were a simple mistake on their part and I might be able to forgive that, but to never call me back constitutes horrible customer service and a lack of an ability to keep ones word.

Dissatisfied in many aspects. I have brought my VW Golf multiple times into import auto and the first few experiences were good, but my visits during 2012 were not acceptable.1) Poor communication / customer service.Last time I brought in my car, I never received any calls for updates on my car, or a call saying it was done. I understand things can get busy, but I waited at least a few hours after they said they would call with either an update or when my car would be done. I am grateful the mechanics actually completed the work on time, but not once did I receive a call.Once my car was finished, the person at the front desk informed me my catalytic converter may be the problem. I asked for the quote for the replacement catalytic converter and he said it would take time and he would call me back in a few hours. Next day comes and still no phone call, so I call and ask if he was able to get the quote yet, he said no and he would get it by the end of the day and call me. To this day (months later after the experience), I still have not received a quote for the new part yet.2) Wrong diagnosis / missed problemsImport Auto Technicians say they service European cars including Porsche, so I would assume their mechanics would know Volkswagens very well, it was the primary reason I went to Import Auto. I understand that there are many different cars and require a vast array of knowledge and every mechanic cant know everything, but they failed to catch simple problems multiple times.It started a year ago when I had a check engine light and brought it in to Import Auto. I dropped it off and the mechanic pulled the code and informed me it may have misfired which is common and to keep an eye on it. They also noticed that I had a minor coolant leak and was low on oil but it was very expensive and since it was only a minor leak to not worry about it unless the leak gets worse. Few months later, check engine light comes on again and they checked it out and said the same thing, possibly a misfire and I have a minor leak and could not find an oil leak but noticed that the oil level was low again, not worth repairing until the leak gets worse. This is when they recommended I replace the catalytic converter as that MAY have been the problem for the check engine lights. This is when I asked for the quote on the catalytic converter and did not receive a quote after multiple calls.Another few months go by and I notice my fluids are low and wanted to take my car to another shop as I was dissatisfied with the customer service. Within a few hours, the other mechanic I took it to had noticed that the power steering fluid had a major leak as well as the coolant. (I had noticed the power steering had been making a weird sound for a long time but just got accustomed to it thinking it was on par for the car). They new mechanic also has noted that I had been losing oil not to an oil leak, but through the exhaust because the PCV system was blocked and not only caused a coolant leak due to cracked hoses, but built up pressure in the engine and has been pushing oil through the turbo and out the exhaust. The mechanic said the turbo could have been damaged due to negligence and not replacing the PCV hoses. My new mechanic said that the check engine light and codes I was previously getting very well could have been due to the oil going through the exhaust and I did not need my catalytic converter replaced.Im glad I have found a new mechanic I can trust and is able to easily find problems. My car now drives like it should. To be fair, Import Auto Technician did not charge me for pulling the engine codes and resetting it and thats a positive, but when they miss fixing a problem multiple times and that it could have caused damage to other parts in my car, thats the final straw.I would not recommend Import Auto Technicians.

Reliable honest auto repair

EXCELLENT place. I had the timing/waterpump servicing done on my vw gti. Dropped my car off on a thursday. They gave me a loaner car for free. I was quoted 950.00 which was way cheaper than everywhere else. On friday when I picked it up it was only 892.00 to be paid. They even had my car washed and interior detailing done at the place right next to them. They exceeded my expectations in every way. Whoever wrote negative reviews are probably just those type of people who have to find something to gripe about. Thanks guys. I would definitely recommend this business to everyone with an import.
