Cheapest place to get an oil change for a reason… I had to give it 2 stars instead of 1 because of how cheap it was, but it was a terrible experience. Waited over 2 hours for a simple oil change and tire rotation, and there was no one in front of me in line. I could have done it myself faster than this, next time I probably will.

Alex and his crew were life savers. We brought our car in on short notice for a tire leak. We were on a road trip and had a bit of a tight schedule. They were able to service it the same day, so there was no need to alter our schedule. Were very happy with the service we received!

I just recently took my car in. All I needed was an oil change and alignment. They call saying I need work done after the diagnostics, but which I told them I knew about and would wait. Picked up my car and now my AC fan wont turn off. 2nd car Ive take to this place and twice you guys screwed something up that wasnt broken before.

Totally ripped off! Brought my car in for rear shocks with their previous estimate and a 50% off coupon and somehow the bill came out to be MORE than the original estimate said it would??? Will definitely NOT be back for any further services!

I came in today hoping to get parts. I look around and it’s empty. I ask the African American shop manager what’s going on with the store and he just gives me a smart Alec answer instead of explaining that Pep Boys is going service only. It’s a shame to see the happening. The service department is horrible. I won’t get service done there. Now I can no longer buy parts. It’s an end of an era. So long Pep Boys.

I got a tune up and 4 new tires for a great price compared to the shops around here. The customer service was impeccable. I left the shop and my car malfunctioned and threatened my life. Driving on academy can be dangerous without a car issue. I came back to the store with an incredibly bad attitude and a accusatory tone. Alex calmly took my car, put it up, and explained how previous damage caused the malfunction. I am the type of person who appreciates logic. He was not wrong. I write this because he didnt have to be so nice, and caring but he was. Thank you, Alex.

At least I left with the car running. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being great......the customer service was a 2 ( beside the girl behind the counter sniffling and looking like death- HELLO CORONA!!!!!!!! and asking personal questions°°°) Too much to gointo detail about this experience. Ill be going somewhere else next time!

Alex and Martin is the epitome of customer service. I started my 35 minute drive home from work tonight and notice a noise coming from underneath of my car. I look underneath and the skid plate was more than half way off. I look in my phone to see if there is any repair shop still open. Thankfully, Alex and Martin told me to bring it in even though they were 25 minutes to closing up shop. I get there and was there for maybe 5 minutes and my skid plate was scraping no more. It might have been a small and easy fix, but it made a big difference to me and am really appreciative they saw me even though they were close to closing and probably had a long day themselves. Just thought they deserve some recognition and hope their boss sees this. Thanks again.

Terrible experience on more than one occcasion,they will only try to sell you tires. All the mechanics are not certified so you are dealing with someone that dont have a clue what to do with servicing a car. I would be ashamed if I called myself a mechanic and performed work like they do, and this goes for both Pep Boys on Academy. One pep boys told me I had a busted bearing, so I take it to the other pep boys for a second opinion and they tell me there is nothing wrong with my car at all. There is definitly a broken bearing and a busted tire rod. They have no idea what they are doing, I would definitly go somewhere else. I will never return to a pep boys again for anything. The managers are as bad as the so called mechanics!

Simple tire install. Waited one hour and 15 minutes even with an appointment. At that point i asked for my keys back and will go somewhere else as they never even touched my car. Manager just handed me the keys and didnt say a word. No apologies or even why i was leaving. Horrible shop.

Always had a great experience at this store. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The Whole Foods next door sells really good pizza. Heavily recommend going here for routine maintenance and the pizza at Whole Foods. Buy some pizza and share it with Alex at Pep Boys while waiting on an oil change. 10/10

Came in for 4 new tires didnt want their extra add ons then the employee comes out of the shop telling me my lug nuts are swollen and they cant put them back on so Id have to buy new ones or they cant help me

Excellent work done on my vehicles. They only do what is needed. I definitely trust these guys with my vehicles to do oil changes and all the way up to engine work. I own Audi, Volkswagen and Mazda. I have never felt like it was to big of a job for them. Fair pricing and also give me a military discount. Thanks for all your hard work.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! They broke my A/C compressor sensor when filling it then charged me for not doing work. They then asked me to pay 500$ and pay 390$ for a part GM sells direct to consumers for 51$ and blamed me for it breaking in their care and tried to sell me one of their warranties. Here is the bill just for labor alone. CROOKED SHOP!

No one likes auto repairs including me. It is refreshing when the auto repair garage offers customer service above and beyond the norm in order to calm the nerves and sooth the pain of the situation. Cody at this Pep Boys service Center was amazing. I called first to see if they had the tire I needed. A few hours later once the towing service confirmed their arrival time, I called Cody again to be certain they had time on a Sunday to help. He remembered me. He found time. When I arrived in the tow truck with the car, Cody was instantly outside directing us and managing the situation. The price I was quoted hours ago was the same price once I arrived. I would describe this location of Pep Boys as a company of integrity. I trust their professionalism. There are many options for auto repairs and I am thankful that I randomly ended up here. I will make Pep Boys my first call for auto and tire repairs. I suggest you do the same. Ask for Cody.

For parts and car service, this place is much better than average. Ive had car work done with them a few times. Car repair is never cheap. However, this location had always done an outstanding job. They always repair better than I expect. Last time, they found that a different part needed to be fixed on my wifes car, reducing the cost of the first estimate, and taking care of an issue I hadnt asked about. Very happy with the service on different vehicles at this location.

Ive been coming to Pep Boys for a few years ever since moving to Colorado Springs. After having all my service done at a local spot before I moved I was a bit hesitant to go somewhere corporate, but Ive never had any issues with the Pep Boys in Colorado Springs. Ive had the pleasure of getting to know the management team in this area and theyve taken amazing care of me and my family every single time.There may be moments people have had bad experiences, but I have two cars and take both here every time there is a weird noise or something runs funny and after 4 years Ive never once had anything less than a 5 star experience.

The mechanics are very knowledgeable and took care of my problem in a fastidious manner. They are courteous and made me feel welcome as I waited. They took me without an appointment. Thank you.

They completely botched replacing my carrier joint on my trucks drive train. Then refused to fix it or refund me, even though I paid the for $30 warranty. Then proceeded to say they werent liable until I paid another mechanic at a different establishment to write down that they screwed up; incredibly unprofessional and rude. They also attempted to charge me $366 for an oil change on a diesel. Its normally $140 anywhere. They do not know what theyre talking about - in any regard.

Not a bad experience other than the fact that they wrote 2000 miles on the sticker for my next oil change. NICE TRY! The gentleman at the counter said I could go about 7,000 miles before changing my oil for a synthetic oil change when I asked him... While the sticker claims 2,000 miles. Not cool, you guys.

Ive returned to this Pep Boys on North Academy for preventative maintenance (such as oil changes and new tires and rotation) as well as for repairs (such as on the transmission and brake replacement) on my aging Toyota over the last ten years. Herman at the reception desk is always positive, professional, and honest. Hes patient and kind with customers stressed about car repairs. The team working on the repairs and maintenance has always been speedy and got the job done well. The results have been affordable and at the most competitive prices, as well as completed in a timely way. Today, I had a silly problem, only I was stressed over it as needing to get to the airport for a departing flight: the door to my fuel tank would not open. I asked for help and Herman, Philip, and Eric [I hope I spelled their names correctly] found that the spring that pops open the door was bent. Within one minute: problem solved, and they would not take a tip or anything for their trouble. This is but one more example over the years of representatives at this shop going the extra mile for a returning customer. Im so grateful. I was able to make my flight because Pep Boys got me on the road again. I will always be loyal to Pep Boys because of this team at this location.

Pep boys service is the best place to go for car repairs. They are diligent and will get the work done fast and will get you in and out as fast as they can.

Called the service department today after going there two weeks ago for a simple headlight installation. For starters the first question he asked me was how did I get that kind of a discount on the order, how is that any of your business? From there he was rude and just abruptly told me they would do nothing for me and I would be charged the original price for them to fix something they didnt fix before. I understand headlights are excluded from the warranty but the level of customer service was horrible to say the very least. Go elsewhere for better service and genuine care.Edit update : Called the Pepboys location off E Platte and they were able take care of the issue for no extra charge. Furthermore the location at N Academy had put that I purchased a pair of headlights but only paid for one side to be installed, who in their right mind would do that? They tried to cheat me because I was able to receive a good discount on the service. Do not go this location as they are very shady and hostile with their procedures. The one off E Platte are quite the opposite and will take care of you.

I took my car to this Pep Boys next to Whole Foods on North Academy Blvd in Colorado Springs on January 9th, 2020. I was there to get my annual vehicle inspection for Uber. At the end of the inspection, the mechanic Rene was backing my car out and collided with another customers vehicle. I was in the waiting room. Since Im an Uber driver & my car is my income, the wreck made it so I lost out on several weeks of work. It has now been over a month, and Pep Boys still has not made any attempts to make this right. I had to fork out tons of cash to get my car fixed so I could go back to work as soon as possible.You would think that a well known company would want to go above and beyond to fix this, knowing that my car was in their care on their property. Pep Boys has done exactly the opposite! No contact at all, theyre not returning calls. The day the accident happened, the manager Eion Austin told me that day that they had security footage of the accident, and that he confirmed & marked the footage. After speaking with the insurance companies, theyre claiming now that theres no security footage. The behavior of the employees at this location is extremely shady and should be illegal.I was there to get my annual inspection so I could maintain my job, but now theyve put a single dad of two young kids out of work & forced me to drain my entire savings to cover the damages that they caused!!! I will NEVER be bringing my vehicle to ANY Pep Boys location ever again & neither will my family & friends (this is a very large number considering the thousands of people that followed my wifes cancer battle (RIP Hannah 11/01/2019)). I understand accidents happen, but they have done literally NOTHING to make it right.

This pep boys is very nice. Donald helped me very good when i was there. the service writers are all very knowledgeable and professional. could use a bit more help as far as staffing goes. they always seem to be short staffed when i go in. but overall very fast and friendly service.

So I have read all the bad reviews and they seem to be pretty spot on. They wanted to charge about 16 hundred for what I thought was a thermostat replacement. Apparently its BIGGER PROBLEMManaged to bring it down to 860 with stuff I did not need or a part that is 250.. but they managed to bring it back up.. stay away from this location. They are really trying to upsell you as much as possible. Lets see if I make it back to Texas

I went in today to get an oil change. The guy who helped me was super nice, just clearly new. He remained extremely professional while his coworkers talked crap about him learning.When I asked the lady at the front how long it would be, she replied an hour to an hour & a half. There were only two other people in front of me. I said okay & walked around a little bit. Obviously my car was done before an hour & a half. Once they called me up to ring me up, no one would help the poor new guy. After struggling though the payment process, I asked if that was it. They all (except the new guy) stared at me as if I had just slapped their mothers. Lol. Any other place Ive been to has typically informed me of what exactly they were doing to my car, the type of oil etc. I had to ask them where my car was, to which the super awesome (not) lady in the front said outside & then laughed at me for asking.Im really not one to complain & as someone who works in customer service, Im typically understanding. I suggest that if this company wants people to keep coming, you might train your employees not to treating your customers like trash.

A gentleman with longer hair and has the blue Harley... But everyone else has been so slow and rude.. That I will take my business.. And my companies business elsewhere.... Maybe some training on social skills and service are In order..

Had 4 different appointments at this store for A/c problems, for a minimum of 2 hrs every time and spent over $400 on parts. The last time my vehicle went the service manager called and said they “finally had to proper amount of tome to check my vehicle thoroughly and there was a leak in the evac coil and it couldn’t be fixed there because the dash would have to be pulled apart”. When asked why they never had the appropriate amount of time in the past he responded with I can’t change what happened in the past and it doesn’t matter what happened then, it only matters what is done now. He refunded the money that was spent on parts. Horrible experience. They are quick to charge for everything and do not do the work promised. Stay away!!

These guys are awesome. Needed to have headlight bulbs replaced and we just showed up and they had us out of there in 10 minutes and didnt even charge us for the service. We will definitely be coming back here for future parts and service. Great staff!!

We had an emergency ; Alex said come on over we have your tire we’ll take care of you ...we call back to tell him we’re on the way (3 min later ) he was hesitant all of a sudden kept telling us I need to see I need to see ... with an emergency like this one doesn’t make it promising or helpful

On my last two visits service was terrible compared to a year ago with all new staff since they shut parts down. The service manager is unprofessional to all callers and customers, including myself when I have never had any problems before. I get it that there’s change in the company but at least act like you care. Will avoid even though this used to be my favorite garage for my family’s two cars.Tires were never rotated on both my cars even though it was clearly asked by me. Service manager interrupts my conversation with an associate and asks how would I know the tires weren’t changed....I can tell by my rim characteristics. Ben and Rene are AWESOME. Developed Brake problems early in our vacation and had them worked on at the PEP Boys on Tutts. 3 Days later heard a noise from the brakes again. Made an appointment at this site because we did not trust the original place. They took the car in and found that the rotor was half turned, there were screws and calipers stripped and a nail found in the tire. They went above and beyond to get us back safely on the road. THANKS!!

I went to Pep Boys about a week ago to have a headlight replaced. They were extremely busy and told me there is a half an hour wait. One of the managers overheard the conversation and approached the salesman and said we might be able to replace it quicker. Ten minutes later they told me the headlight is replaced and your car is ready, They only charged me $15 for the part. I was very pleased with the work and the price. They have earned my trust, They have a customer for life. Thank you Pep Boys.

I will do all of my tire purchases through them from now on.

Weve had two vehicles serviced at this Pep Boys over the past year, and most recently within the past week. I was in this past Sunday and was given a verbal estimate that was lower than it should have been, but I didnt know that. When I went in two days later to have the work done (replace all four tires) the service manager caught the error, but still worked hard to honor the verbal quote even though he clearly didnt have to. The work was done faster than expected and it was done properly. All in all a very good experience and I would highly recommend them.The service manager is competent and friendly. He noticed my tires had been wearing evenly so he suggested an alignment may not be necessary -- that kind of honesty is what creates loyal customers. It saved me some money which was great!

Service is usually fine, wait times arent bad. Not super trustworthy. Took my car in to have a tire looked at because it was leaking pretty bad. They charged me $10, and told me they fixed it, sent me on my way. A week later its still leaking air, and they clearly didnt even check it. Took it to the Discount Tire on Garden of the Gods and got the tire replaced in under 2 hours.

I had my car towed in when it wouldnt start. The problem was a dead battery, which was replaced. In addition it needed transmission and fuel injector service, total bill 416$. However, they failed to notice that the battery (which they had installed about a year ago) was still under warranty, they tried to charge me for it. Strike one. Two days later, my Mom (who was in town on a visit) was at Safeway when the car would not start AGAIN. Needless to say, she and I were both very upset. Turns out the Alternator was also bad, something the technician failed to notice the first time. Strike two. They at least did not charge me for another tow, or for the second diagnostic charge, and they washed the car for free, but the bill this time was 476$, which I feel is very high for this service. Strike three.I acknowledge that the manager and staff did their best to make things right, and while I will continue to patronize PepBoys at this location, I think the staff could have done a LOT better.UPDATE: I was contacted by one of the managers concerning the problem with the alternator, and how and why the misdiagnosis occurred. I understand the problem better, and I thank him for the information.

Austin the manager has zero customer service skills. I cannot believe pep boys would allow him to the face of their company. I came in to get a lyft inspection and I did not have all of my proper paper work for my inspection. His attitude showed that he did not want to help me figure out how I could he the inspection form. He kept telling me that he does this ALL the time, but his actions showed otherwise. I know there are rules and regulations he has to follow and I understand that, but his attitude was simply he did not have time for me even though I was the only customer in his lobby. Lazy, rude, and down right doesnt care about his customers. I didnt even go back and will not. All because of his attitude.

I had a fantastic experience with Pep Boys last night. I had gotten into a minor accident because my brakes failed. Chris the service manager went above and beyond to get me taken care of and get me in and out quickly. The service tech, Jimmy, was extremely caring and both Chris and Jimmy genuinely wanted to make sure I drove away with a safer vehicle. I will be a returning customer after the wonderful service I received last night. They turned a stressful situation into a satisfying experience. Thank you!

Lyft Driver here, called ahead and they said they could inspect my vehicle without an appointment and cheaper than other places, great! Drive 20 minutes there and Austin tells me he didnt know I was coming today and cant get me in for 3 hours! I said you told me I didnt need an appointment, to which he replied even an appointment doesnt mean Im guaranteed a bay?! Whats the point of telling me I dont need an appointment if I cant get served within a reasonable time. Had to leave and drive 20 minutes in another direction to a jiffy lube who fit me right in immediately.Get inspected at another location, this one just wastes your time.

Our office just moved near Pep Boys on North Academy. I needed tires as winter coming on. Went in and discussed needs; wanted 4 tires, installed and oil change... how much. Instead of being honest he gave me price for tires, which was a screaming deal. Imagine my surprise when I picked up my car and it was $330 more than I was quoted. I asked about what I was told and he said that was the price of only the tires not the install, alignment, oil change and tax. When you ask for a total it usually means inclusive of everything. Am I wrong to assume that he was afraid to I wouldnt do the deal if he told me the real price? Gave three stars based on, in my opinion, the omission of the total price.

I have tried to be as patient with Pep Boys as possible, but after buying tires there a year ago and having to replace them twice in the next 10 months, I have spent way too much time and money at this shady establishment. Every time I go in, people are rude and unhelpful. They wont honor the warranty on tires they sell you, and theyll quote you really reasonable services, but then tell you they cant perform them and have to sell you a brand new set of tires. Im never going back here and neither should you. If you like overpaying and wasting your time, this is the place to bring your car. Otherwise, I have had much better experiences with Big O and other car repair businesses.

Needed 1 tire today, since I popped a hole in mine. Although, I made it known that I was moving in a couple weeks, back east to one of my trusted family-owned shops, where I plan to take care of the tires there. The young boy at Pep Boys said that he didnt want to do less than 2 tires (obviously-- more money for them). I get that they like to have tires match one another and all of that, but given that I went down the street to John Senter Tire, where they said that 1 tire was no problem (for $86 no less) at all...I think its safe to say that, to no surprise, chain car shops just like to rip people off. I never really knew that auto shops could refuse a specific service that the customer requests for their own vehicle, but.🤷🏼‍♀️John Senter Tire-- 5 stars-- ask for Jason. Anything else-- go to Accelerate and ask for Shane. Avoid this place, trust me.

I was late for my appointment. They took me directly in, solved my problem within 30 minutes and sent me on my way for less than $30. It doesn’t get better than that!!!

Worst customer service I have ever encountered from an automotive service business. The attitude is that you are a complete inconvenience to them once they have your money. Job done very poorly.

I dropped in a couple weeks ago and asked if they could help me change my headlight bulb. Despite being short-staffed and busy that day, they helped me immediately and I was in and out in 15 minutes. I really appreciated the fast service.

Wouldve been 5, but they need some more help in the service area. Train everyone to answer the phone and help customers there. Austin - the person at the counter did a great job and was very professional. But, he had to answer phones, deal with customers and go back to ask questions of the mechanics in back. There were 4-5 other employees standing by their areas while the phone is ringing off the hook.. maybe train them to pick up the phone and make appointments or take messages for the service manager.

These mechanics are nothing shy of con-artists. Took in my car today to have it fixed, with the service manager giving me attitude the moment I walked in. Got a call regarding the estimate, one technician gave me a quote of $1031. Told him I would call him back as it was already too steep to begin with. When I called back to go ahead and approve the work order, I was told by Aspen that the quote was now over $2000. When I explained what the other technician stated Aspen said that he was wrong and he personally built the estimate. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES TO THIS LOCATION!! They will rip you off every chance they can get. Pep Boys has lost our families business forever.

Took a car here that I was looking at purchasing and they did a great job at checking it all over. The car had a couple minor things but that gave me leverage to get the price down. Everybody was super friendly the work was fast and good and I will continue to use them.

Dont ever go here. First off they said they couldnt patch my tires just so they can sell me tires, i went to tire king and they patched my tire. Also they wanted to charge me $642 for 4 jetta tires, and when i went to tire king they only charged me $360 for all four tires and all. This place is a rip off never go to pep boys!!!

Please dont ever take your vehicle here you will be ripped off! And I mean by a lot. First of all, I took my vehicle hear to get two new tires. They than said they do a free break inspection. So I got a break inspection. They told me my drums and shoes need to be replaced as well as my bearings and axle. Which by the way I am not mechanically incompetent, so I said maybe next time. I asked them to print me out a quote. So they did, and it showed me that all those things need to be replaced plus over $300 in labor. Total rip off. So I paid for my wheels and checked my receipt and it showed me that they charged for my break inspection. Which by the way, they said was FREE!!!!! Please save your money and do not go here. Such a rip off and they are always late on your car repairs, it took them 2 hours and 45 minutes for them to change my stinking tires. RIP OFF

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE FOR WORK!!! I brought my car in to have my clutch replaced and ended up with two additional damaged parts. Neither of these were broken when I brought my car in the first time. The manager tried to explain that these things just happen, but they were the only ones working in my car. I will never go back to the shop and neither should you.P.S. I cant wait to see the crappy apology the manager posts that doesnt fix my car, give me back my time or money.

Waited for 2 and a half hours for an oil change when we had an appointment! We used to be regular customers because they take care of military, normally. The lack of any type of service was ridiculous. We went in on a Thursday morning thinking it should be pretty quick. Needless to say we wont be coming back again. Dont bother making an appointment if you come here, it wont matter. Over priced is an understatement. $106 for an oil change and AIF filter after a discount. This company is abhorrent
