We are pleased with medallion. They delivered on every promise and our pool kit was completed without issues. Now, buyer beware: they sell you a pool kit --- You need to hire installers, concrete guys, figure out what to do with excess dirt, hire fence installers, hire gas plumbers, pull permits and schedule inspections. It can be done ✔, but it is NOT easy. I suspect this is why they have such a low star rating. Make sure you understand the effort involved before jumping into this project.

I purchased a 27’ round Freedom in-ground pool from Medallion in February of this year and obtained delivery early summer. Number one, the list of contractors they provide on the sheet to choose from is useless. The contractor we chose spent 3 months telling us he would put it in, just to find out that our project wasn’t ‘large enough’ for him to install. That would have been nice to know 3 months prior. I finally found an installer that was gracious enough to fit us in. If installing that type of pool is beneath certain contractors, they should not be on the list. Secondly, when we started installing the pool, the seams in the interceptor coping weren’t welded correctly and they weren’t even at 90 degree angles. In addition, Medallion only provided one stair rod that attaches the liner to the steps, mind you there are 4 steps. The pool installer and myself had to go to Lowe’s and purchase wooden dowel rods and fasteners and cut them to the correct lengths. And thirdly, when I purchased the pool, I included a Lumi-O light in the package. The light they supplied was for an above ground pool, knowing that I had purchased the in-ground option that included the coping that concrete butts against. As a result, I had to drive 1.5 hours back to Medallion in order to get the correct light, which they proceeded to charge me for. I do not recommend Medallion Pools. Learn from my mistake and directly through a pool contractor. It’s faster and cheaper.

Medallion Pools is a respectful and knowledgeable company. The pool equipment and materials are highest quality. It is our first experience with such a large project and their were extremely helpful and supportive through the entire process. We highly recommend!

I’m at the end of my rope with this company. I paid over 14k for a swim spa that has never functioned. I’ve now left 4 messages for someone to call me back. I’ve had 3 separate contractors tell me that it’s the power which is defected ... and it seems this is under warranty, but who knows because NO ONE WILL CALL ME BACK. They do give you a list of contractors too use, but guess what... none of them will call you back either. It feels great knowing that basically I’ve given this company a $14k donation .... because all I have right now is a heap of useless metal in my back yard. I will update this review once I see how they are going to resolve the issue. But after all the issues and lack of response from them so far, I’m not feeling too confident. I’ll call daily and post how things are going... but at this point, if you’re considering this company... check out the other reviews and the patterns of where they lack. And run quickly in the other direction.

Great! They have pools, more than I can say about other pool places. They just didnt have any ladders, or I would have given them 5 stars. I did order a ladder off Amazon. Trinity and Lori were great 👍 5 star for them. Lori was new but did know alot about pools. Trinity has been there for awhile could answer all my questions and knew exactly what I needed for the pool. Very professional, honest and straightforward.

Water tests used to be free. Their prices have always been WAY too high, but now they charge for water tests. It used to be convenient to just buy the chemicals they recommended but now theres no reason to go in at all. Walmart is so much cheaper for getting what you need

We purchased our pool in late winter 2020 from Medallion. Pete came out to our home and shared a great deal of information with us. He answered all of our questions and took care in working with us initially to see what kind of pool might be best for us. Johnny took our actual order, helped us make decisions about modifications and options and shared other recommendations. Both gentlemen were kind, considerate, professional and informative. We did have a problem with a defective pump when the pool was installed but the folks at medallion helped us work with the pump company to have it replaced immediately. The only thing I would say to folks thinking about installing a pool is whatever you think you should budget for dirt removal - add more to it! And be patient because it is a major construction project. (Neither of which have anything to do with Medallion) I would use Medallion again! Pete and Johnny were fantastic to work with! When we came back to order our cover for winter, Xavier was a huge help! Thanks fellas!

I purchased my mother and father a pool in early April late March. The pool was over $6000 not installed, they quoted us $1300 for install….. when I spoke to the salesman he said I could pick the pool up when I came into the store to pay. I told Xavier that I would be coming that day he said that was perfectly fine….. once I arrived and paid for the pool, he said oh no you can’t pick the pool up (mind you they were fully aware of me having a 2 hour drive) that I would have to schedule to pick up Monday….. I called Monday…. Couldn’t get an answer after my father and I took off from work…. finally someone answered and said no you won’t be able to pick up today…. After tons of calls and escalating the issue they said we could pick up….. we got the pool home when we went to install none of their installers were able to install for less then $2300….. okay then the installers wouldn’t respond to calls or messages….. so my father went to install the pool…. Mediallion pools gave me the wrong skimmer……I was missing the top rails to the pool and the liner has a hole in it…… ive taken off work several times along with my dad to make the drive for the correct items…… and now after all this hassle they offer only a $25 store credit! Not a liner for the pool that has a hole, not a discount on the $6000 pool that can’t really be used as is…… and they simply do not care about their customers once they get their payments. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE!!!!

We purchased a spa from this company and installed it ourselves. We were looking for a hot tub/pool combo and something more economical and easy to maintain. This spa is something we can use year round! The customer service has been great! Any questions we had throughout the process have been quick and thorough. Very happy with the choice we made and would highly recommend this Medallion Pools!

Only reason I go to Medallion is because it’s the closest pool store, otherwise I would go somewhere else. 6pm close time, their doors are locked and lights out at 545pm. The employees are nice but not knowledgeable of even basic pool questions. Hate it here.

I purchased an above ground pool from Medallion Pools in 2003 and 17 years (it’s now a rental) it’s still operating and in great condition! Since I had a great experience with my above ground pool, my husband and I decided to reach out to Medallion Pools for an inground pool for our newly purchased house. We purchased the Grecian style pool. We loved that we had the option to customize the pool, so we added a 8’ sitting area. The outcome surpassed our expectations! We love working with Pete, our salesman. His is very knowledgeable and there was no pressure to go bigger or to select higher priced options. He has and continues to be very responsive as we are now in the process of ordering our customized pool cover. We also purchase our chemicals and other pool supplies from Medallion Pools and have received great customer service from the in-store staff! We highly recommend Medallion Pools!

From the very beginning we’ve had a terrible experience with medallion(beginning of June). In the beginning we gave them the benefit of the doubt- it’s been a Crazy year a lot of people have been buying pools. Our sales rep Jason would never call us back, until we called saying we wanted to pay. Don’t use their list of contractors- they don’t call anyone back either. We finally were able to pick the pool up the end of July- finally got a contractor to come out and put the pool together just to find out they never gave us the skimmer. So now our pool is half filled with water, we’ve been calling since Friday to try to figure out where our skimmer is- always being told okay someone will call you back. So this morning we decided to ride up there hoping someone in-store could help us. Surprise surprise they can’t and will call us tomorrow. This has just been the most frustrating experience, it seems like they don’t really care about their customers. There is a huge lack of communication, a lot of our issues could have been resolved with a simple phone call to keep us in the loop. Definitely would not recommend medallion to anyone.

Do not do business with medallion !!!!! They will sale you pool / equipment. But will not communicate or stand by any issues you have with merchandise. They will not return calls and will misinform you just to make a sale. Take your business else where !!!!!! Do not use medallion

Great company to purchase a pool from. Outstanding customer service from Pete, as he has now helped us with 2 pools from Medallion. From the beginning we were made aware that they only sell you the pool and mechanics of the pool, and we knew we would have to figure out all the other details. We have never had any problems with Medallion, and we have had numerous meetings, on-site and at their location in Colonial Heights. The pools they sell are very nice and well constructed.

Found what I was looking for and price was right. I have my water tested frequently with easy explanation to balance the pool water. Always helpful and friendly and never have I been dissatisfied with customer service. Always willing to carry and load even if it just a couple of chemicals. They are spot on with service.

We bought the pool in April 2020 and had a verbal commitment from their phone in their office with the installer for install in June 2020. We are now in October 2020 and the pool is not completed yet.We could not have imagined the issues, challenges, back ordered pieces, etc. Pete is great and the sale portion is very easy, but the install is a nightmare. When we committed in April I could not have imagined the stress, quality issues, hassles, etc that would lead to a scenario of getting to enjoy the pool almost a year from purchase. When we were told it would install in early June we believed Medallion and the installer and that was a big mistake.Do your due diligence carefully, then do it a 2nd time to avoid the stress we have had to deal with in 2020.Verify, then trust on everything you are told because the amount of false information in this process has been mind-blowing.

We got a pool installed about 6 years ago and pool started losing water. It drained all the water out of shallow end leaving only about 4 foot in 8 foot deep end. Had contractor come out to replace and the walls of the pool are rusted already. Terrible since the pool is not that old at all. Over 5,000 dollars to fix. The walls are poor quality and I recommend anyone painting with Sealant. Before liner in installed. Guess I know know why the price difference.

Medallion is .... Ok. The pool assembly went together great, and the steel walls were perfect. Thats where things start to break down.Instructions are in conflict with parts sent, and they are aware of this. Response was we know they are wrong, but we sent parts that work. The spa pack and motor are bottom of the barrel basic equipment. Everything is designed for 2 pipe, but they adapt to 1.5. Motor relay on the spa pack was not functional, which isnt medallions fault, but for the price, it should have been an upgraded spa pack that was more reliable. Motor included was a 120v, heater is 240v. They both shoulda be 240. In fact, after finding the bad spa pack, we replaced the motor and pack with higher quality components, to avoid any future failures.The cover is 1 at the ends, and 2.5 in the middle. It will not hold a snow load of any kind, and will need to be watched all winter. Its also really lightweight, and wind makes it flutter slightlyNothing inherintly wrong with what they sent, but you can tell every component was on the low end to save costs.Shipping was shoddy at best. Parts arrived at shipper, but they were unable to deliver to house, requiring another expense to get the pool to the house.With all that being said, the pool is gorgeous, and my wife is super excited to start using it. All the flaws were able to be worked through, and it should be a lifetime investment.If we were to buy again, we wouldve just bought the steel and liner, and sourced everything else independently.

24 years ago we met with Pete from medallion pools and had our in ground pool installed. It has gone through one major earthquake and over a 100 tremors and has remained intact. Now 24 years later we need a new light in the pool we were absolutely amazed that they had the part in stock great company.... almost like family

I recently purchased my second inground pool from them and have nothing but great things to say. As I read some of the other not so good reviews it is apparent that those people obviously did not do their homework. I live in the St. Louis, MO area, purchased my pool after working with Ashley for several months on the design and all the changes we made so that we would get what we wanted. The pool arrived exactly as ordered with no damage etc. I installed the pool myself with the help of hired sub contractors to dig, electric, etc. and did the rest with my sons and friends on the weekends. I saved at least half the cost of an installer doing it and I built a pretty big pool (my friends call it 2 pools). I would highly recommend them, you just have to know what you are getting into if you want to take on building a pool or buying it on your own and having a pool company install it for you (if theyll do that). 5 stars from me.

My pool was custom made quicker than I thought it would be. We changed our mind several times on the size and shape before we completed the order but Pete was amazing and was more than happy to discuss and make the changes. Our price for the pool itself was what Pete said it would be to the penny. But do be warned that the contractor pricing you get for the installation is very approximate and depends on other stuff that needs to be done to make the pool fit where you want it in your yard. That said, this pool totally installed and landscaped costed me far less than having the same pool installed by another company in a previous house we owned! I would definitely recommend using Medallion Pools.

We needed a new liner for our pool and being that Medallion was the only place that had it in stock, we went there to get it. Tried three different times to buy the liner and there were three girls there that said it would not fit on the pool. Called multiple times and there was no answer so we had to come back by multiple times to find the girls sitting around not busy at all and then we had to call another pool supply to get THE RIGHT answers on what to get on our pool. After constantly arguing that the liner would not work, we finally were able to buy it, overpriced, and it worked fine. If anyone else had it in stock we definitely would have gone somewhere else. If you can avoid going to Medallion, please do.

Great Experience today with lil Johnny! Were looking to install a pool in Spring 2019, he was very helpful and informative about the whole process. We were there for an hour, with several questions! He never once made us feel like we were an inconvenience. He even helped our Autistic 4 year old take all the balls out of the pools. Highly recommend them for your Pool and Spa needs.

My wife and I purchased our pool from Medallion and were very pleased with the price of our purchase and the quality exceeded our expectations. The process was a little overwhelming, beginning with the purchase and all throughout the installation and finishing touches, but between Medallion and the installer we chose (M12 Solutions) we could not have felt more comfortable. We were given all information necessary to make such a large purchase less nerve-racking.We were referred to our installer by several other customers and can understand why they came so highly recommended. All of the employees with M12 were very professional, friendly, and extremely hard working. They walked us through everything from permitting to final inspections and everything in-between.Between Medallion and M12 Solutions we could not be happier and we LOVE our new pool!

I purchased my Medallion pool during their open house on 3/28/18 after seeing their tv ad fir an installed pool fir $15,900. Nope! My salesman was wonderful, but he didn’t inform me that after I walked out the door they would furnish the pool and install was totally on me with no guidance from them except for a list of installers that they skipped in with my purchase documents. He did introduce me to my installer during the open house and told my oool would be installed in April. Weeks went by and I kept calling installer. If he picked up, he would say he was in a job site and would call back that night. Nope! I called my salesman and he gave me another name. I was on2 installers lists and I decided whoever got to me first was doing my pool. So my pool was just installed. I assumed they would hook up the pump but no....need an electrician to do that. So here I sit with an $11,000 pool. $7,000 install cost, $1800 for water and now looking fir an electrician to hook up pump,the pool light, and the salt water regulator. Need to do this before my $1800 worth of water turns green due to no chemicals circulating in pool. No direction was given on how to work the pump, how much chemicals to put in, etc. Are they cheaper than other pool companies ... yes but wish they had explained all this at time of purchase so I could have been prepared.

They dont provide enough materials for the contractors to complete the installation therefore leaving you spending more money to get miscellaneous items needed.2. Nothing is returnable! We had to get extra materials and we got more than needed. We had these items 3 days had the receipt and they wouldnt take them back. No one mentioned they werent refundable at the time of purchase.3. There is not a whole lot of professional attitudes in there. Through our buying process they were friendly but after purchase...RUDE! There are 2 employees that are kind and respectful and I wish I had their names. They are the African American young man and woman that work up front.Summing up our experience with them....HEADACHE! If you are shopping for a pool check other options. We talked to several contractors who refuse to do their work. If I could have given 0 stars I would.

This company is absolutely awful. I purchased a home that already had a pool installed but needed a new liner. I contacted Medallion and purchased the liner over the phone. It took a month for me to get sick of waiting so I called them. The rude lady Angie kept putting me on hold, took my information and never called me back. I called again a few days later after I received the liner and told her the contractor said it was wrong. In our initial conversation she told me which liner was needed and I trusted her as a professional to know such things. After I informed her the liner was wrong she once again took my information AND NEVER CALLED ME BACK! I asked to speak to her manager the next time I called and got forwarded straight to a voicemail where I left a message. HE DIDNT CALL ME BACK! Im still sitting here with a liner that doesnt fit. I guess once they get your money thats all that matters. Bunch of stuck up individuals too. Very rude. I guess when youve already made so much money you dont need goid customer service skills anymore. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE CROOKS!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! I purchased a pool from Medillion back in July. It is December and I am still waiting to have my pool completed and covered. They sell you a pool then hand you off to a contractor. M12 Solutions installed my pool. They are the worst. They dont communicate. They office manager doesnt return calls. I wish I had used another company for this process. NOT USE THEM!!!!!May 23, 2019I wrote my initial review on this company 5 months ago. I was contacted by them 2 weeks ago regarding the review. One of their employees came to my home with test Strips for my water and some other solution. With the assumption that I would change my review. I dont understand that but anyway. Today I received a certified letter in the mail with instructions on how to remove the review and threating legal actions if it isnt removed. A complete joke!!!!! They must not know anything about the law. I still stand by my review of this company. If you have contractors you are passing your customers to those contractors represent your company. If I go into a restaurant and receive bad service from a server I have an issue with the restaurant and the server. My experience is predicated on the whole experience. The server is a representative of the restaurant. Your contractors are a representative of your company. I will update this review everytime Im contacted by this company. I will turn this into a blog if needed!!!!P.S. All the issues with my pool still havent been addressed!!!!

I contacted Medallion Pools and I am a cash buyer ready to go in March and completion by May and I finally got to speak with Angie who talked in circles on installing the pool. I got a call from a Michael R. and he said send him photos of the site area and hed get me a bid...its been 1 week later and I have no returned calls from MIchael R. and Ive left at least 3 to 4 messages asking for a call back and Im so happy I came to read reviews here... I have encountered the same as all the other 1 star reviews there is no help and no installation serviced with this company...most people dont want to install a pool from another company. I told my husband how can I possibly buy a pool when no one will call you back with a bid and install date! Lost my business up front due to the way they have handled not returning my calls and the reviews here...I intend to copy and paste to Yelp, Angies List and FB if they have a page! GREAT JOB Medallion Pools...you have lost another client due to lack of service!
