Nice store, spent most of my time waiting to check out. It appeared there was only one person checking people out. Didnt want to leave the line to look, but it took forever. Felt sorry for the poor girl.

Im officially sad for this as I have come to learn that this store is slated for closure. It has been a go-to for us for many things. I will miss the Foundry brand and many of the others that we have purchased through the years.The selection of merchandise is shrinking along with the number of available employees. I wish all of them the best!

They need more cashiers.There were only two departments ringing up customers.One was the mens department with two cashiers and the other was the ladies department where the line was quite long with only one cashier ringing customers up.Another thing is your hours are only from 11AM -7PM Monday-Saturday.On Sunday it is 11AM- 6PM.Cant you open earlier on the weekends and stay open till 9PM?In addition hire more cashiers?If you hired more cashiers they could ring more people up faster instead of walking out to go and shop somewhere else.I have listened to people complaining in line saying JCPennys is nothing like it use to be and I have to agree.It use to be when you went in you were greeted with a hello and a smile.The ladies had time to step away from the counter and help you find things, show you the new items that came in, size you for bras...That was a Pennys of the past.Its very said because when people go to a store they are usually looking for interaction with the employees.My suggestion is if you would like to make your brick and mortar stores excell in sales and excellence, it all begins and ends with customer service and making the store experience so fantastic they never want to leave.Trust me they will tell all of their friends!!

This store need some help. They clase very early and the store is nasty. Obviously they are not using the down time to clean or sanitize. Carpets are not vacuumed, floors are not swept seats and not cleaned, register areas are not cleaned, dressing areas are left looking life a disaster area.

Decent enough location. Awesome portrait studio and excellent customer service. Big & tall section should be better managed. Found some good deals but found a lot of clothing wrinkled and in bad condition on several racks

Do not do curbside pick up at this location. They never come out with your package. I waited almost half an hour and finally went inside to absolutely no line. They seem to have no one working the curbside pickup.

Was there 3 times to pick up my order. Nobody works at customer service to get your oder. You have to wait in a long line at the men’s department to get help. I ordered for a reason. Sad

Literally only 2 cashiers.They could have 80 percent off sells and I would not come because that means I would have to wait in the long slow moving line.

Ordered my greats an outfit being of a certain age the lines were very long so a sweetheart working in jewelry exchanged the item for me

Over priced stuff not worth buying

Lots of girls clothing selections. However the cash registers were very backed up and it was hard to find any assistance.

Caught the on-line flu years ago and had not been retail shopping until a recent visit to JC Penney mens clothing dept. I was pleasantly surprised with a wide and varied selection and was abke to find just the right clothes that met my ridgid criteria. Staff was very friendly and helpful in making sure that I obtained the best price and even ordered whatever was not in stock. Had forgotten the perks of in-store shopping. Look forward to going back again.

My experience at Jcpenney had been good but I had a bad experience with jewelry repair dept particularly one person name Karen I left a ring to be size in August and according to my repair receipt it wouldnt be ready until 9/5 I called around 9/2 and was told it wasnt back yet no problem well I didnt call back until 9/14 it took several attempts to get through before someone picked up and I spoke with a person name Karen and asked if my ring was back yet and was told its been back 9/4 and she said she would check to see who called me and she came back on the phone to tell me it was her she said she left a message she said it in a rude manner and and stated my phone number she said she call I told her I didnt recieve a message or call then I ask her how much was the repair and she said its on your receipt $45 I told her I see that but it s printed the repair could be up to $45 then Itold her my daughter would be picking it up and she said rudely if she dont have the receipt she wont be able to pick it up .I think Karen need more training in customer service on how to speak to people in a better manner and not be so rude to customers it gives Jcpenney a bad name as far as customer relations Im a66 year old Woman and I really didnt appreciate the way Karen spoke to me I hope someone that manages this store in Colonial Heights Va Southpark mall will address this situation Thank You Sheraldine Bland

Always great people

I got a good deal on a suit but many changing rooms were closed and I got caught by surprise when they closed at 6:00. It took a long time to check out the entire store from two cashiers. On the bright side, the people at the cash register were helpful and ensured I got every discount to which I was eligible. It was an over all positive experience.

Seasonal inventory changes occurring and there are some great deals and savings here in Colonial Hts, Va store. Wish they had consistent cashiers available at customer service desk though.

I recently placed an order on line because Southpark JCP carries little variety in the clothing section. I ended up returning the 2 items I purchased only to find out that JCP does NOT reimburse shipping costs. What a complete rip off! I paid shipping to get it to my house and now I have to eat that cost ($10.00) because thats their policy! I will NEVER purchase from them ever again. So, on line buyers.....be aware...you will not get reimbursed for the shipping costs if you return any online purchases.

Update: wanted to mention that the doors on the side where Planet Fitness is AND the doors on the food court side are not open for entrance. It says Fire Exit only so I had to park and go through the doors on the side closest to the entrance that faces Temple AvenueI mostly go to this Penneys because it has a Sephora located inside. Went there yesterday to make a return. I didnt have the invoice that came with the packing (Id ordered from Sephora.com) but the sales person was very helpful and I was able to use the info on my phone to get the price for her. From there, they pulled up my account and I got a merchandise credit which I then turned around and bought something else I needed! Sales Associate at this store was VERY helpful and friendly, compared to the very UNHELPFUL and almost rude young man who I tried to get help from at the Sephora inside Penneys at Chesterfield Town Center. Highly recommend this place if you live in the area around Colonial Heights.

The young lady that help me pick out my engagement ring I was very helpful even though I had the wrong size and we had to take it back and have the size brought up she was still very helpful and showed me and explain a lot of things to me I really appreciate it buying engagement ring is not something that a man do everyday so I really needed that extra help I knew what I wanted but I wasnt sure how to go about getting it all done and she was really helpful I wish I could remember her name she work at the South Park Mall in Colonial Heights she helped me one time before to get up Valentines heart pendant for my girlfriend at that time and I really appreciated her help again when she have a great and blessed day and may yall find that employ my name is John Walton she she might remember me thank

Always loved JCPennys store

I needed clothes for my moms funeral. All I wanted was a simple blouse and pants. No go. Yucky choices in blouses and no pants (slacks) to fit (🙄 plus size). Pennys usually does not disappoint. No good choices in shoes either.

The customer service was great. She was very helpful and friendly. She took the time to relay information about possible future items that would build a collection.

Clean store and friendly staff. Love the clearance section. Wear a mask!

Dee in customer service/returns has a bad attitude! Must be a very unhappy person and it can clearly be seen in her lack of enthusiasm and professionalism. I was not greeted, she interrupted me every time I tried to speak. I was extremely dissatisfied in my customer service experience on the two occasions that she has assisted me. She may need some professional coaching or training in professionalism in the workplace and treating customers with respect.

When I had to revamp my wardrobe, I shopped here. Granted, it took us two hours and an entire clothes rack of rejections from the dressing room, but with the combination of current sales, promotions, and discounts, I walked out with 7 complete outfits for less than $150.We checked it twice, thrice, and twice more to make sure everything was coordinated, all sensors were removed, and all pieces were accounted for.I’m sure I won’t quite luck out like that again.But bargains can be found here!

Went to JCP Salon and got a wash, blow dry and flat iron by Rochelle, she was able to squeeze me in unexpectedly. She was very professional and did an outstanding job on my hair, it came out just as I asked. I will definitely come back and see her whenever I am in town

Hasnt been the same since they turned into a classier version of Roses, Family dollar, and dollar general. They only seem to have a fair share of abundant clothing during holidays and they vary basic name brand clothing. I believe the quality of the items they carry are still pretty good but average.

Had move from one cashier to another. The first cashier was so talkative and slow. The second one was slow folding the persons clothing ahead of us. It was like waiting in a line of 60 people in front of you.

Great update on clothing, and customer service has definitely improved. When I walk in the store Im greeted with smiles and Hellos from employees. Something great is happening with this store. The toy section is neat and the clutter that once was is no more. Great work to JC Penneys and its staff.

My wife and I have been appliance shopping all day and ended up here by the end of the day. We received excellent friendly service. The appliances were the best prices around. The only place compatible to the price was Sears due to a liquidation sale. Premium service and premium quality product. Definitely a good spot for appliances. We just got our new fridge for the best price around.

Fantastic service from Corey. We were looking for a specific display Christmas tree and shouldnt find it in stock. The store was relatively empty. Corey personally scoured the store in search of it. Regrettably, he couldnt find it, but we did find a Pennies employee who embodies the level of customer service such historic chain is known for.

Found a parking spot right in front of the mens dept. Pick up a few wonderful pieces for summer on sale. AND a special dress for my daughters wedding...and it will be delivered to my home . AWESOME

Lately, they always have many items on sale, or clearance, but some of their clearance item prices are still pretty high. They do have a wide range of selections. I usually only go to the clothing department.
