My second hole was done here and was great, it was done by a guy named Nigel. However, My third ear piercing was done by a woman (I can’t remember her name) and my piercings were put on too tight after I told her not to do them so tight. and are still crusty and bleeding after 6weeks even with daily cleaning. My two friends also had the same the problems with their piercings too done by her, including a belly button piercing that was done way too high. This woman needs to be reevaluated.

Not very friendly, we felt like they had better things to do, like play pool. We wont be back, or recommend.

I’ve come to city limits a couple times here in the past month &I have not been able to get a dermal piercing. I stop by again Mid day Wednesday, after calling to confirm they could do it; they said that they would consult with me about it. I went there up to the door called and was advised I couldn’t bring my Starbucks drink inside also that it will be an hour wait because the piercer had to do 14 piercings in one persons ear. Once leaving I seen individuals leaving out behind me so I called to confirm that the individual still was getting those 14 piercings; the gentleman said that they would be however the wait time changed to be 15 minutesI got back I called again to let them know I was outside where I waited for over 10 minutes and no one ever came to open the doorWhen I call back before leaving I spoke to the gentleman again and let him know how disappointed I was about the service I’ve been receiving he expressed to me that everyone was obviously too busy to come open the door - there was no apology made.. he let me know that if I was gonna have an attitude then I just need to not to come back.. say lessI will not be back & I don’t see how business will thrive with a locked door and no one available to let paying prospects within.

Nigel is by far the best piercer I’ve been to in this area. Super chill, professional, and quick! Iv had no problems with any of my 6 piercings he has done over time! Would recommend!

I got my Medusa piercing here by Nigel and he was incredible. One of the best experiences Ive had and extremely professional while also making me feel comfortable and relaxed. Nigel has been a piercer for 16 years and definitely knows what hes doing.

I came to the shop hoping to get my nose pierced, and was told “we can’t have minors inside right now”. I had my newborn in his car seat... it’s not like he’d be running around and getting into things. He was content and quiet. Somewhat ridiculous given his age, I could understand if he was any older than an infant. Lost my business.

Great crew. They took our vision and designed custom tattoos for my daughter and I that were exactly what we wanted. I was able to bring my 17 year old and I had a lot of respect for the boundaries of where they were comfortable with placement for her. Professional and quality. Very patient with us as well!

Customer Service I received the first time I went back there was horrible from the female peircer. She had me wait for over a hour and then took people on front of me after making me call and wait outside.......I did call for a appointment so that still dont excuse the fact she took someone in front of me

City limits have been my go-to for nearly ALL of my body modifications. Scott is a very personable artist and made me feel at ease when I was getting my chest piece done. The art is beautiful. Nigel is extremely sweet and also made my experience more soothing for a repiercing. Everyone I’ve come across at the shop are extremely professional and it’s super clean. My husband and I have been long time customers of Gregg’s even following him from a previous shop. We would go anywhere he goes! Unbelievable artist, great tattooer, quick and gentle, cool guy! Highly recommend him for anything you want, extremely versatile!

The place looks a little sketch from the outside...inside looks like any other tattoo place. Adam was excellent! I went in to get an industrial piercing on my left ear. The shape of my ear and some additional previous cartilage piercings made it a little tricky. We tried at first to use an existing piercing and he knocked off $10 from his original price. Everything was good. The next morning I noticed the existing piercing wasn’t going to work for me because it was making it a little too snug. Which made it difficult to clean around completely, I’m a stickler for that kind of stuff, so I was being a bit picky. I went back in and he reassured me the piercing would be fine. But I was a little bugged about the lack of wiggle room going on, so he pierced the second free of charge. I still tipped him greatly. I really appreciate him taking the time to do his best with the ear I came in with and rather than shaming me for being a little picky, he did the work without hesitation and argument. Now I feel so much more comfortable with it and this placement even looks a little better. So happy and satisfied with the work and service. Why can’t all piercers be this great??

Me and my friend got nose piercings from here a couple months apart-- her septum, then my nostril. Its been a fantastic experience both times. The place is sanitary, the employees are genuine and chill yet have experience under their belt. My piercing is still new but with the advice they gave me, its been healing well. So has my friends septum. Only $25 for each piercing too! Definitely going to come here for a tat once I get my next paycheck.

I had gotten my nose pierced and my belly button pierced twice here and I loved each experience! They work well with you and they are very patient with you. I was nervous when I got my belly button pierced but they really calm you down before they do it. They are very easy going and the process is quick. Can’t wait to come next time to get my first tattoo (when my paycheck comes of course lol)

I had my nostril pierced by Adam and he did a fantastic job!! I was scared to death and he put me at ease immediately.. just a pinch he said..and he was right..hardly any pain and no bleeding, bruising or swelling. 6 weeks later I developed the dreaded bump (I think it was the metal, i have sensitive skin) and it took 3 weeks to figure out what worked the best to clear it up and in 3 days it was gone. Its been 3 months and Im ready to change jewelry so I purchased online a14k gold bone 20g and it will not go in. Due to the pandemic they are closed and I cant get any help as to the gauge I need, so Ill wait.I highly recommend City Limits and Adam is a great piercer.

I took my eleven year old here to get his first ear piercings done. The piercer was awesome and she made my son feel super comfortable. She was quick and as less pain as possible. I would recommend going here any day over Clair’s!!!

Greg did a piece on my back. My absolute favorite tattoo, was very professional and took his time to make sure every last detail was perfect. He took my idea and made it better than I even imagined it to be.

Well, after turning 18 I went to go get my industrial done. I got signed in and only waited maybe 5 minutes before I got called back. Terri did a great job on my piercing. She’s really caring about where to put it and how to take care of it. She did it super fast, but after the first piercing I had to take a breather, and she let me have one. I will definitely come back.

This place is pretty kewl. The person that gave me me my septum piercing was the best. Barely felt anything. Not to mention that they are way cheaper than the “other place”. Definitely go back here again. For tats and piercings. Didn’t give 5 stars because, i’m Not done with tats and or pricing. But highly recommend!

Went with my nieces to get their tongue pierced. Wish I got names of the two employees that helped us. The guy that went over the paperwork and took our money was pretty cool. He made us laugh with his sense of humor (it helped some with my nieces nerves). The lady that did the piercings was pretty fun. She had good energy and made the process easy as she walked us through the steps she was taking. We were in and out in 15 minutes (the time we walked in and out). I recommend them fully! I also got my tongue pierced twice from City Limits Tattoo.

With this shop you can’t judge a book by its cover. When I pulled up to the shop, I immediately went into to google to check its reviews...they were good so I decided to go in. VERY CLEAN on the inside. VERY POLITE employees. All in all a great shop, and I will be doing business with them again.

I got my nose pierced recently and the guy who did it was great. Im usually a big baby when it come to trying new things but it was so fast i barely felt a thing and i didnt have any after pain. He was quick with it, i didnt feel anything but a little pinch and it was done! & the prices are reasonable. i would recommend city limits to everyone.

Adam is a life saver! I really appreciate him. My Tragus piercing came out and he gently replaced my jewelry. On top of that he cleaned and tended to my angry piercing site! I wish I wouldve got the original piercing here !

I got my nose pierced here, two of my friends also got other piercings, and our experience was amazing! They were very professional and answered any questions we had. The piercings were fast, pain free, and have been healing wonderfully. Also, when I went in to get my piercing changed the lady that did it talked me through the procedure and made sure it was a painless as possible.

Ive gotten many piercings here and have but had a bad experience yet! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Place is clean and vintage. They are heavy on the Confederate flags. That sucks but it is Virginia so unfortunately reminders of the racist history that is slavery is hard to escape.

Ive gotten a few tattoos here and they have all been pretty simple things but they all look amazing. City Limits is the ONLY place that I will let pierce me. The staff has been around for forever and they are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. If you are looking for someone to hold your hand and give you a tissue you wont find it here, but then again if thats what you need then maybe you shouldnt be there.

Went to have some tragus and rook earrings changed! The piercer who helped me was great! Will be going back when I need any more help!

I got my lip pierced today. Terri did an excellent job. Shw made the procedure quick and as professionally as possible. She was an excellent piercer that I highly recommend!!

I’ve had 4 pieces done here, two large and detailed and two small. All of them were done by Scott, I would definitely recommend him, he can do anything! He really knows how to work the ink into your skin! However if he’s not available, all of the artists are very talented and I would definitely recommend this shop!

I was referred here from my usual shop and was not disappointed. I got a small, simple design and the artist did a wonderful job. He was even able to convince me to add some color to the tattoo which truly makes the design a one of a kind.

The person who greeted us at the door was very snarky, and he was the one to do my sisters tattoo. He claimed that he doesnt really like to do other peoples artwork (like the artwork which my sister painted herself). So being the kind person that she is, she let him take his own spin on it. It came out okay, but he was incredibly pissy, snarky, and sarcastic most of the time. He was also really aggressive with the machine and on the skin. My tattoo artist however had a quiet persona about him, but he definitely had his own vision for the work. He, too, was also quite aggressive with the skin, and it seemed as if he was doing it as fast as he could. I do love the tattoo though, so no qualms about that. The rest of the employees there were really sweet, patient, and kind. It partly felt like a small party near the end of our visit. That was fun!

This is the best tattoo shop in the Tri-City area. The guys are great!
