I wish I could give them zero stars because these people are rude inconsiderate people. We got a 20 ft truck from them to move my grandparents from Katy to college station so we can take care of them and then when we have to order another truck online we get there only for them to not check their online reservations and give the uhaul to someone else right in front of us then they want to proceed to still charge us $88 saying we checked in and picked it up. Then once we finally got to talk to a manager they helped us out and let us rent a truck that was not even left half full and since it was getting towards night we were trying to hurry up and move our 76 year old grandparents and didnt pay attention to the mileage only for them to tell us we drove 300 miles from katy to college station and blame us for not reporting it and continued to charge us $108. Talking to them on the phone they made snide comments about us on the phone and then double charged us $280 for the very first truck we rented. They just want to take your money avoid renting from here

I’m not sure if it’s the Regional Manager or U-Haul corporate but talk about lack of planning and coordination.I rented a trailer with a drop off at College Station. I arrive with the trailer at College Station and they tell me the entire city is over capacity and I couldn’t drop off the trailer.This is one of the biggest Universities in the country and you don’t think there will be an abundance of trailers while students are returning to campus?Please use the data that you have available to you. The invoice shows where the drop off location is, if you know that you will reach capacity start offering discounts to take the trailer back or to a nearby location. It’s not up to the consumer to fix your logistical problem.

Very rude and confrontational, but part of a bigger company problem. Apparently, U-Haul wants its customers to help manage its assets for free: I was told Id have to return a trailer to Hemstead, TX - about 45 minutes away from the contracted return location. This uni-lateral change in the contract came within 24 hours of the return time; not agreed to by me. After much argument at the agreed-upon return location, a manager allowed me to return the trailer there this time only. The argument with an employee included a threat that I would be charged an additional fee! AND, this was the 2nd change to the contract I hadnt agreed to: on the prior day to picking up the 5x8 enclosed trailer, I was told that the pick up location was to be 20 minutes farther away than agreed. I went with it, despite having to rearrange my work schedule, but was shocked when it happened again at my destination:. U-Haul expects its customers to move their fleet for them at their convenience. I had paid the one-way (higher) rental fee, and Id even rented a hotel across the street from the College Station drop-off location to streamline our limited time. So, it appears to be a corporate issue, reinforced by untrained and rude employees, down to their local managers. U-Haul used to be a good company, but I have a long list of companies that are no longer in business after resting on their past success.

This particular U-Haul sucks. Back in the August, they flat out told me that I can’t drop off the cargo van because it wasn’t agreed in the contract. “That’s between you and the dealer that made the contract”, could tell they didn’t wanna help me or do anything with customers. Called the customer service agent and she told me that all of the locations in the Bryan-College Station area were filled up and I had to drive ANOTHER hour (already drove 4 hours) to drop off a small cargo van. Even the dealer at Navasota told me straight up, “U-Haul has the worst customer service, especially in that area.” Use other rental companies because U-Haul is starting to lose their foundations.

Employee on 5/26/21 was the most un-empathetic person I have ever met in my life. He had the personality and appearance of a serial killer. The employee locked the doors when I went to open door, and would not rent to me because I was 3 minutes late. For the amount of time he explained I was 3 minutes late, he could have just given me the keys. I had an online reservation and had completed the online checkout too. I just needed the keys.I had just walked two miles there because I didn’t have a car.

Pretty slow service - helper was chatty and the policy that they call your emergency contact right then and there on speaker phone is insulting and an invasion of my privacy to other customers. I went for a pickup truck rental and the vehicle only had a quarter tank of gas. Was told if I brought the truck back with less than a quarter tank, I would have to pay a 30 dollar fee. Although I only went 20 miles I still had to stop at a gas station! Plus, there was an old chicken nugget in the car.

The young professional Lady Melody Felchek was a great experience to have take my order to rent a truck. She had the upmost respect and knowledge of the equipment. If she is not already at a supervisor/lead spot she deserves the promotion. I have used Uhaul for over 10 years and she by far was the best representation of a model employee. I left a happy customer!!!

Dallas from this location called me at 3:00pm before the day we were scheduled to pick up our truck for moving and told us that the 26 foot truck that I reserved was broke and he didnt have any others avaliable. He stated that I could use a 20 foot truck from North Zluch. When I asked him about the charge for extra mileage to get a truck from North Zulch to Navasota and back, he told me I would be charges the mileage. I told him to just cancel my reservation and I was able to find the truck that I needed through Penske. Thank goodness because we also reserved paid movers to help us. Dallas did offer me a 26 foot truck at 4:00 pm on the day that I needed to move, but that didnt work. Very unpleasant experience.

Horribly disappointing service, I was viewing the website and about to make a reservation for truck which seemed available. Ended up calling and talking to a representative, around 1 pm, just to clarify a few things, and after being on hold for ~30 minutes, she very promptly asked me some personal information, including a credit card number to finalize a reservation. Told me that scheduling would reach out and return a call before 7pm, which they did not. I called around 6:45 to be sure everything was O.K. with my reservation only to find that apparently there was actually no vehicle reserved for me. The quickest possible reservation I could make was a whole 2 days later than the original time I was told.Ridiculous they would claim I had a reservation made and even ask me for personal billing information to be put into their system, when they cannot hold up their end of the service. Basically a huge nuisance and should have been made clear to me they simply didnt have anything available before claiming I had this reservation and planned my moving schedule around it.Avoid if possible, find a friend with a truck, a lot less trouble and costs less too.

The manager Christina went above and beyond for me when At first I couldn’t find my receipt from 2006 . I finally did and she treated me right .. even came in on her day off to put my hitch and wiring on !!!All employees were fantastic

Nice guys. No upsell attempts or pressure after first decline of insurance etc.I called ahead and reserved what I needed.They got me out the door, hooked up, and on the road in no time flat.I got the little 4x8 trailer. The hitch they have on that extends it out a ways from your bumper. This adds some lag in the steering response time of the trailer when youre backing it up. If you have a narrow driveway that youre going to need to back into, I hope you bought the extra insurance (or am a better backer than me).It has a pretty wide and open parking lot to pull into and out of, but theres a pretty steep incline towards the street; so I recommend approaching and leaving from the main road (College, I believe) if pulling a trailer.

The guys working there were so helpful when we came in asking which ball hitch to use with our car. We weren’t aware that we were supposed to try to schedule trailer pickups 2 weeks prior to moving day, but even though it was Tuesday, the gentleman helped us find availability for that following Friday - even at their store! So thankful for their help, they were courteous and informative.

Reserved a truck 3 months ago in close proximity to our daughters college home… Sent me to an alternate pick up location (of which I had no prior knowledge or idea of location!)...until I “happened to call” the day before! Strong dislike!

We reserved a truck a week in advance and when we went to pick up we were told to go to a different location. Went to the second location, still no truck. We ended up driving 50 miles out of town to get said truck. I don’t recommend doing business here.

It took about 2.5 hours to serve five people. There was just one person serving the reservation counter and he was also walking people over to their trucks. When my turn came the system shutdown added an extra half hour to my already two hours in the line. To top things off the fuel gauge on my van was broken, so even though I filled up the tank, I got charged for not having a full tank. Bad service. Wont go to this location.

Not helpful once they have your money.My wife rented a trailer from the uhaul down the road. On her way back she noticed the ball they installed for us was too small ant the trailer was bouncing too much and jerking back and forth on the car. I told her to just stop by this location on her way back and ask them to change the ball out. She waited in line for 30 minutes. When she got to the counter the guy working there started to help her when the other woman working there (Melinda) stepped in and said no. She said it was not their problem and that the other location needed to fix it. She said she had customers waiting and told my wife to leave. I went in late to ask them why they would not do this and again Melinda was upset that after I waited in line for another 20 minutes that I would dare make the people behind me wait for 5 minutes while they changed the ball on my car. We all wait in line. It was my turn, and everyone behind me understood that. Melinda just did not want to help me because I had rented from another location. This is not good service.

They are great in rental, but have a lot to improve in costumer attendance. Oftenly they just have 2 people to do all the stuff: have the costumers, sell, receive cars back, answer the phone, etc.. Do expect long lines, it is very common there.

I called with questions trying to get help with a moving plan. The guys (Sean) advice to me? Call back when youre better prepared, and he actually HUNG UP on me mid question. When I called back, he just hung up on me again. And, as always, I was polite, never rude nor demanding having worked in the service industry. There are other options, and I plan on using them. Never, ever, EVER, will I give these people business.

I had just about the same experience as Jamie with one exception. I asked the gentleman on the phone to wait while I verified my friend wanted to make a reservation. He was on hold maybe a minute and could hear me speaking to my friend and HUNG UP ON ME. I called back and that is when I found out that when you call them you go to a phone bank of operators and do not actually speak to someone at this store. The people that work there are probably very nice and helpful. Unfortunately U-Haul has a reservation system that is not at all customer friendly and representatives that are sometimes not very helpful.

I just had possibly the most frustrating call of my life with these people. I simply wanted to see if they had a truck or trailer available (I am not sure which I want). The person on the phone wouldnt even verify if different options were available unless I reserved something with a credit/debit card? I guess I was going to have to reserve one of everything I wanted in order to find out what they had. I WILL NOT do business with this outfit.

HORRIBLE customer service. After promising the wrong time and giving the wrong size trailer, the OWNER/MANAGER sent me to the wrong location and when I returned after HIS mistake he was rude and didnt care. I had to pay extra for my movers because of the late trailer and OWNERs mistake. I then got charged $70.40 for this trailer when the UHaul employee I spoke with when I made the reservation said it would be $48. Every UHaul employee I spoke with on the phone was incredibly rude and didnt remotely try to help. Not one of them mentioned the free month of storage I was supposed to be offered either (so even MORE money wasted). I am incredibly displeased with my experience with UHaul and expect some sort of reimbursement/discount for this unprofessional, time-consuming, and expensive experience. I will NOT recommend UHaul to anyone.

The starting odometer reading was not taken correctly, which resulted in being billed for a total of 40 additional miles at the end of trip that were not driven by me. They did not have the truck size requested and bumped us up to the next biggest size, but charged us for the larger truck which is not U-Haul policy. Would not recommend this store to anyone.

Super expensive to rent a truck (0.69 a MILE) but when you move to Texas after being in the military and no other car rental place will rent to you and youre just 23, and dont have a credit card it has to do I suppose. I just wish they could do a cheaper rate for a long term rental because the 444$ bucks I spent hurt

This location is only partly culpable in my scenario. The renting location made an error in the “contract”, and the owner of this location wouldn’t accept the trailer return without an excessive “wrong destination” fee. Rather trying to work with me to make sense of a contract that obviously made no sense (they switched it from a round trip rental to a one-way rental from Houston to Houston), he essentially accused me of trying to violate the “contract”. I then spent the next hour on the phone with the equally unhelpful U-Haul customer service department. I would NOT recommend U-Haul, or this location to anybody.

I put down the deposit that I was told by the employee would be returned to me a check in the mail after the rented equipment had been returned. I never did receive that check and when calling the store to ask about it I was told that it was mailed and there was nothing more they could do. However they couldnt provide me with any type of record or documentation that it was actually mailed.

Used their trailers and trucks off and on for years. Had to buy their damage insurance since our auto policy does not cover trailers. Rentals have always worked out well. Sometimes the dropoff places are small and hard to find.
