Im torn about this review - I would give 3.5 stars if possible. I had my windshield replaced but the rubber seal around the windshield was installed where it was unevenly raised in parts and there were slight, but obvious gaps, in two locations. I was able to take my car back in that same afternoon and the lady at the counter had the technician check it out. He assured me that 1) it would settle in the heat, 2) it wouldnt leak, and 3) it was only cosmetic. Well thats all fine and dandy but I didnt pay money out of pocket for a windshield installation with cosmetic damage straight out of the shop.I thought about it over the weekend and decided to call in on Monday morning to say I still wasnt happy with the job. Luckily, there was a different lady at the counter (who is apparently the normal person up front) who agreed with me right away. I took my car back in - again, the technician didnt see any problem with it but the woman at the counter agreed that it didnt look right and scheduled another appointment for me.I had that appointment this morning and am happy to say the work is completely satisfactory this time. Im annoyed that it was a problem to begin with and Im annoyed that the technician didnt have any problem with the worn quality but, in the end, my windshield was replaced with a quality I was satisfied with.
I came into town from Colorado in an old 2002 Grand Prix that I bought some three or four years ago for $700. The car is a nice fit for me and in general I just kind of like it. So since I had only been in town for a few days I was kind of surprised that the water leak I had believing it was just a heater hose line turned out to be a major gasket leak. The water was literally leaking out of the engine and into the engine coating all the internal parts with something that looked sort of like eggnog lol. They looked at me there at car doc, said you know its probably time to go ahead and set this car down sir, but I said nope not yet. So of course the next couple of days they proceeded to rip the top of my engine off and put it back together better than it ever was since I had it. Also went in there and fixed a heater issue that Ive had since I bought the car. Now both sides work. Changed all the rubber under the hood, paid the bill, put it in drive and a way I went. Im writing this having returned back to Colorado and made one full trip up to Colorado and back to Texas in the meantime. Conclusion: car doc knows what theyre doing. I feel comfortable knowing that if I did have an issue with anything they worked on theyd take care of it no problem. You might have to get in a short line an extra day or so for them to get to you and knock out your issue. Yeah youll pay a little bit for it, but when you pick it up, fire it up and drive it off whatever the issue was will be no more. Yes I would recommend them. Good people that really do care about the customer and do the repairs like theyre doing their own car.
I was very impressed as this was my first time needing chips repaired from my vacation travels this past week. I stopped at a place in Bryan first not knowing about Acme. After being at the other business over 20 minutes they clearly didn’t want to repair them they wanted me to start and insurance claim right then and there to replace the windshield and I would need to schedule that as they are backed up 2 weeks. I left and made a call and was told to go try the place by Tourchys in CS. I walked in and the 2 ladies was very nice, I told them what I was looking for and with 15 minutes I can pulling away with both chips repaired!
Excellent job on replacing my windshield and had me in & out within a few hours
Super fast service, very nice people, reasonable price ($39 for a rock chip in Ford F-150)
Great place. Got a new windshield. Quick and efficient
Acme glass serviced my Ford F-150 for a rock chip repair and did a fine job. They allowed me to get the repair on the spot without an appointment and were happy to help me. All small businesses should emulate Acme glass sense of professionalism and customer service. As a Galvestonian, I am impressed by a glass company who has high character and strong customer service work ethics. Thank you Acme Glass-
In less than 10 minutes from the time of my arrival and without an appointment they fixed a crack/chip in my windshield. Without a doubt, superb and friendly service!
Lady on front desk is a sweetheart 💕Love the service....
I went in to have my passenger side mirror replaced on my truck, and it was not an easy task. Despite the difficulty, the technician kept working until it was done. This is the place to go to for ANY glass/mirror related needs. 10/10 would recommend
They always have the glass i need available in a timely fashion
Fast, helpful and friendly service from the staff. With quality products for a good price, I continue to use ACME glass.
I would recommend this place to all my friends. You should give them a try and you will do the same
Frequent flyer here. Always good service and fast installation. Never had a single issue with this local business.
Great experience with this company after Houston TRASH shattered my rear window in the middle of the night. Glass everywhere in my backseat. I called them for an estimate at 8am, better price than everyone else in town. They got me in immediately and the window was replaced and the mess cleaned up under an hour. Highly recommend.
The gal was great! The repair of my rock chip in the winshield however, still looks like a rock chip and is still causing a whistle while driving highway speeds. When I have gotten repairs before...it was like the chip disappeared. Not this one. Still looks the same. I question whether it was done properly..? I kind of expected them to use an airgun to blow out any debris prior to sealing, but that wasnt done either. I feel like it was a waste of $40. I tried.
Great service n people
Fast, professional, and complete service. I had my windshield replaced and did not even have to fidget with the rear-view mirror much afterwards. I was told about an hour turn-around time and even on a busy Friday thats exactly what it took.
Its been six weeks since I initially contacted them regarding a home window replacement, and four weeks since they placed the order. This may be normal, Im not sure, but they operated on the assumption that no one needed to be at the house to inspect the window, because after giving a 2-day estimate of when they arrived, and after notifying them of my contact number when they plan to arrive at the house, they never contacted me. A couple days later, they told me they inspected the window and put in a custom order. Does communication exist?Contacted them yesterday, the 1st person I worked with was gone, but another woman was there; however, apparently my name was not on their system and she was surprised. The 1st person just had my notes on her desk. Its fine if all the records are physical, but the 2nd person was surprised, so Im not sure what theyre system is supposed to be.The window is apparently on transit now, which will take two more weeks. I dont know what the heck theyve been doing. If its because it was a custom order (Im not knowledgeable enough to dispute the necessity of a custom), they certainly dragged out estimated time of completion on me.So what Ive gathered is theyre not organized, not open with communication, and theyre not timely. Its been six weeks, and for all I know, they havent done anything yet.
Ive been to ACME Glass a few times over the last few years and every time I go thereIn come away with a new reason to recommend them to someone. They have great service and competitive prices. I probably wont go anywhere else for my glass needs.
Good burritos at a good price. Friendly staff and great service.
They made a great first impression. My son had busted a pane in his bedroom window. I dragged him in to buy his replacement. They gave it to us. Maybe not as good of a teaching moment for the kid, but sweet anyway. The second time I went in, another broken pane (our house is lively) they sold me the one and gave me another from the remaining scrap glass. The third time I got a replacement bathroom mirror (did I mention the house is lively?). It was a bit more expensive than Id hoped thanks to the wifes requirement that the replacement be beveled, but Acme was great.
Been going to them for almost 20 years - Always great service (fast & friendly) & good prices.
I almost NEVER leave a 1 star review....but this company earned this one. Ordered a piece of glass for my desk top. I was told it would just be a couple of days to cut it and they would call me. After a week, I had to call them. They gave me a fuzzy reason for why it wasnt ready. Said they would call me back and it would only be a day or two. Again, week later and poor follow up and still no glass. Went with another company. Bad customer service, no follow up when promised, no glass when promised...ughhh
I came in without an appointment to get a chip in my windshield filled. They had me in and out in less than 15 minutes and for only $40! Great service.
Good experience with a broke apartment window. They arrived in 2 hours and fixed it for under $100.
Quick turnaround on work and friendly staff
Quick service on a home game day. Manager was friendly and knowledgeable.
They are very pleasant and helpful. Got in without any wait.
Professional Services! Great Rates
I got a new windshield from Acme glass for my Outback. A year later we had moved to California, and I tried to get our Outback registered at the DMV. Turns out the weather stripping on our new windshield mostly covered the VIN, and the DMV had to see it *and* the door panel VIN in order to complete the inspection. Multiple people tried to scrap the weather stripping away, and over two months I went to multiple repair shops hoping for a cheap fix. No luck. We had to get a new windshield. And to add insult to injury, our new windshield with expensive SoCal prices was $100 less than Acme Glass, and with same day service at our house. Acme glass had our car Friday morning through Monday afternoon. Learn from our expensive mistake and take your car some place else.
Quick and easy window replacement
Their customer service is terrible and Im incredibly disappointed with them. Bill (The CS office manager) is extremely rude on the phone and in person. Mark (The district manager) is a fast talker and will only get things fixed as cheaply as possible. Their installer left glass behind after my window was shattered on my drivers side door. It scratched my tint and ruined it. It took me over a week and dealing with Bill and Mark to finally get it fixed and thats after I had to take matters into my hands and go to Ag Solar Guard to have them fix the tint then bill Acme for the work. When this all happened, Mark didnt even look at the damage and ordered new glass. When I showed up at a time that Mark and I had discussed meeting to fix it, he wasnt there. I had to deal with Bill again who was difficult at best to deal with. Bill looked at it and said I had to have the tint removed before they would determine if the window is scratched. He then had some kid vacuum out the glass and blow the rest out down into the door. I then was given a card by bill and sent to Ag Solar Guard. I had to make an appointment for them to work on it(I wish I had known before this all started about the appointment). Then Mark called and wanted to know why I wasnt at Acme when we agreed to meet. I drove back over there and met Mark. He took Bill out to my truck where Bill used a razor blade and rudely and roughly ripped the tint off the window to show that it wasnt scratched. He was so rude I was taken back by him. He walked away muttering to himself and being ugly. Mark then took me to Tint Dreamz instead of allowing me to have it tinted at Ag Solar Guard and the guy there did a terrible job. I had to call Mark back again a couple days later to tell him that it wasnt done right and took it to Ag Solar Guard to fix it again.Ive also tried to contact the Owner Mitchell Morehead and discuss these issues with him. He will not return my calls. I am disgusted with their lack of customer service and how I was treated by Bill in the 5 or 6 interactions I had with him both over the phone and in person. Overall, I will never use them again and wouldnt recommend them if they were the last glass company in town. They say they pride themselves on service on their website but they certainly didnt seem to care about my needs. Best of luck if you use them.
I am a contractor and I requested a quote from this company. I called back today to see what was their quote, the owner was very rude and condensending. This company tried to go around my company to get the door install. This is a very unethical company with no Intergreity. BBB will be called.
Amazingly fast and friendly customer service!
Brought my SUV in to get a chip on the windshield repaired and first of all the technician didn’t even acknowledge me. Then he made the chip bigger about 1.5 inch of what it was originally. If you care about your car don’t bring it here!!!
Fixed a chip on my windshield within 15 mins. Very professional.
I called to ask some questions and was met with a very short and rude man on the phone. He proceeded to tell me all the things they wont do... Glad I talked to him first Im calling Acme.
Fast service.
Nice guys and professional work.
Customer ServiceSpoke with Mary and she was very rude on the phone, will never do business with them again.
Excellent service
