IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD! never again coming to this location, after a long day I just wanted to end the night with some bubble tea. I walk in and itโs a bunch of dudes just talking at the register, I wait about 5 mins and no one acknowledges me until I cut them off and ask them if I could order or did I have to wait until their boy convo was done. Smh I love kung fu but this location was just a very bad experience๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Why would you not have enough bubbles on a Saturday night? Like this is a main ingredient! Unacceptable. I understand you were 30 min away from closing but you should always have them ready, the employee told me they couldnโt make more because they didnโt want to waste the batch ?!?! is like if I go to Taco Bell and they tell me they donโt have tortillas for tacos lol you guys close at 9 if I was there 5 min before closing I get it but 30min smh. Also they have no sense of urgency when it comes to make the drinks. They take for ever to make 2 drinks. Chatting with each other taking their sweet time, donโt get me wrong they are nice and polite but you need to be faster specially because there is no easy and accesible parking. Please guys get it together.
I swim at the university and come here before practice. Itโs hard to find parking but thatโs not their fault. Itโs usually busy and itโs a small place. The drinks have always been delicious and staff are great! If youโre around the university highly recommend this place
Itโs a really nice place the employees are super nice and really cute especially that girl with bangs and a ponytail but there drink are exquisite ๐ especially the rosehip lemonade YESSSS ๐ฎโ๐จ๐
Good solid bubble tea. But there is no parking
Had a great experience here. The store ran out of mango flavored items so we had to pick another item. The young man Eric who worked there was very kind, helpful, and patient.
This took a lot for me to write a negative review, but it was months in the making. This is the worst Kung fu tea to ever exist. One star because itโs close by and the other because sometimes (key word SOMETIMES) they function. Either something doesnโt work properly, or it smells bad, or they get the order wrong, or theyโre always closing early, or opening late. And when they do get the order right it may take 20 minutes to get your drink from the time you ordered. If you have the time just drive to silver spring or Arlington. I went today and the machine was broken and thatโs it for me; killed my kung fu tea addiction for good.
Worst kung fu tea ive been to. Very slow service and my drinks were not made right. No flavor just milk and too much crunchy ice. Had to throw them both away.
Really fast service, yogurt drinks and taro milk tea is my absolute favorite โค๏ธ
Quaint little spot on York Rd. Great selection and good service. Never once been disappointed!
Without a doubt the best tea I have tried, they have the best natural drinks super recommendedโฅ๏ธ
Um... milk was too diluted... tea was also too diluted... itโs almost like sugary water instead of milk tea. Itโs my old hang out spot with friends so thereโs sentimental value to this place. But I would not be craving bubble tea from Kongfu Tea as compare to some other new places around the area.Love the new choice of the bubbles and friendly stuff though.
Worst place ever, they didnโt have what i wanted and they were very slow but the people were nice ๐คจig
Great Assortment of bubble Teas. Try it if you havent yet!
Professional services, great tea, my family love it.
Love the green milk tea. Sometimes the college park store hours have been inconsistent but if you call ahead you wont be disappointed
They never got nothing new to this on the menu and the location is terrible go to Laurel always come through
Well made tea with bubbles cooked to perfection consistently. The staff are friendly and efficient too.
My first boba experience didnt really go too well about 2 years ago. I got boba at the kung fu tea at Rio in Gaithersburg and it blew my mind. Ever since then Ive gotten hooked on it. Drinking boba just feels so right, and kung fu tea does it so well.
-2 stars because I cant pre-order yogurt green tea on the app, pleaseeeee bring back yogurt green tea please please please i am begging you
Great customer service! The staff was so nice and really cared about making sure you have the best experience possible. The tea is also amazing ! Highly recommend
This place never have bubbles or flavors every day is the same thing, and also you have to wait them to answer phone orders first while theyโre in the back laughing i been trying to order there in the past three weeks and is always the same. Rude costumer service..
There were 2 other customers in the store when I arrived. I ordered 2 drinks and had to wait 15 mins to receive my order. There were 6 staff members. One was sitting on the counter scrolling thru their phone, 2 made themselves drinks and began drinking, another was eating something and making drink orders.I have 3 stars because the drinks were good but the service was pretty bad considering they only had 3 customers there.
I had Kung Fu tea for the first time a few years ago. My best friend took me there and the flavour options blew my mind ๐คฏ Pretty happy theres one 15 minutes from my house. I love the seasonal flavours too. I definitely recommend giving Kung Fu Tea a try. They soak their tapioca bubbles in honey to give them an extra flavour (so if youre a vegan who does not eat honey, get your teas without the bubbles), and to me it does add a nice flavour to the drinks!UPDATE:I recently found out that Kung Fu Teas milk teas are no longer vegan-friendly, as they contain a derivative from milk. So unfortunately, for those vegan bubble tea lovers, or at least for this location, their milk teas are no longer vegan friendly. A very sad day for me!! Oh well. They have so many other flavours that it kind of makes it okay. Kind of. Kung Fu Tea, get a substitute milk product that is vegan-friendly!! (Photos are from when they had vegan-friendly milk teas)
My favorite bubble tea location in the area!! I come pretty regularly and they always remember my order and my special allergy requests. Bubbles are alway perfect and the taste of the tea is so good. The manager Danny is great and Ray is always so helpful. Top tier service to go with their first rate bubble tea!
So good, I only had to wait 2 mins then we went inside to get the drinks, cheap and tasty.
7 minute wait but the bubble milk tea is amazing and so refreshing
I do enjoy their slushes. However, they are not a good store to order from online. Theres always a digit problem on their end and theyre hardly ever accessible via telephone to provide a solution.
At first I thought the tea here was too sweet. However, you can ask for less sugar. If you do itโs good bubble tea.If youโre not really a tea person, the bubble lemonade is excellent. The shop is cleaner then neighboring options, but more cramped. Service can be slow sometimes.
My first time trying bubble tea. The mango snow slush is extremely delicious. Will be recommending to family and friends.
Awesome customer service, made the drinks damn delicious ๐ Im coming back.
One of the best bubble tea places around! You can never go wrong with getting bubble tea here! Bubble tea is always consistent and the service is pretty fast! I just wish they have board games and better furniture, but those are just the little things. Would definitely recommend!
It was decent; however, I got there right at opening with just myself in the store. It took longer to make my drink order than I thought it should have since there were no other patrons in the store. The milk tea was good and the bubbles were not too gummy.
Took the kids and they enjoyed it
First time at Kung Fu Tea and its amazing! Ill definitely be going back!
My favorite thing about this place is the option to change the concentration of sweetness... it makes a difference. Overall, a good place for bubble tea
I go there about once a month and it is sometimes inconsistent. Though when they are on their game, everything is great-- honey boba is soft, chewy and delicious. Be sure to ask for 30-50% sweetness as it can be VERY sweet
The tea is great. Theyve got a wide selection for every taste preference. The location is super convenient for college students at UMD, an easy walk. Definitely going again.
I think it goes without saying that Kung Fu Tea is very good. I think their drinks can be a little sweet (you can ask for less sugar) but I crave them. PS i am a coffee guy.
Above all, Their tea tastes great! Their many available customizations also allow you to get the flavor that you prefer. I recommend the Milk Green tea, less sugar(70%), less ice, and bubbles. Prices are a bit steep though and you have to pay for toppings.....
A little slow, and always busy (its in the heart of the UMD campus so this is to be expected). They always get my order right, and its not the best bubble tea (Im still loyal to the Bubble Tea Cafe in Rockville!), Its by far the best choice near me that I can get in and out of pretty easily when the craving hits. Half sugar is life.
Takes a while to make some orders than others. But good Taro slush! Will go back
This is the Best Kung Fu Tea!! You can @ me. The staff is welcoming and the Tunes are Bumping!!! Open late is a big plus as well!!
I always go to Kung Fu Tea here! I love it so much. Bubble tea from here is the best.
KFT is great cuz they are always consistent and the staff is always super attentive and nice. which is great if your still unsure what to order like me, even though Iโve been here countless times.
The food was fresh and flavorful, and the rice was cooked perfectly. I had a poki man bowl with shrimp. The blueberry tea I ordered was more of a slushie than anything, but good. Im not a tea person, but would recommend this place for a light lunch or dinner.
Best bubble tea in college Park. Amazing bubbles (popping bubbles too) with a range of jellies. Great selection and delicious bubble tea. Quick service.
High volume Kung Fu Tea location. Expect to wait 10-15 minutes for your order. The shop can get very crowded on weekends. I had the Rosehip bubble tea. The tea was a bit weak and not very cold. My son got the oreo bubble tea and it wasnt cold either. There are better and faster locations.
The only detracter is that it is in college park amongst a bunch of rowdy kids but it is a college town. I always wanted to go and I can say that the tea I choose, with the help of the noce employee, was refreshing and delicious. It was a different take on tea. I will go back but probably at a different location.
I went online to the app and I ordered two drinks, and I checked online to make sure they were still open and it says they close at 10:30. I got to the store at 10 oโclock and they were closed. So I paid for two drinks for nothing? Really ruined my night, I had to drive 30 minutes to get here because they were the only place open this late. Iโm not happy.
I love their bubble teas! My favorite is Yogurt orange one.
Pretty good tea. I come here sometimes with some friends. Its a small and chill place to grab tea to go or sit and relax.
Normally this place is great but my last few orders have taken over half an hour to get filled
I tried the chocolate QQ tea.The chocolate tasted burned.I gave 4 stars coz,I love QQ.
Has good bubble tea but it is a little pricey. Expected when dealing with high quality ingredients but ive had better for less. Overall still a soilid establishment
Great service and drinks!
Nice atmosphere, great flavor choices and I love that you can choose your ice and sweetness level unlike most bubble tea places.
Spacious location, nice to hang out with friends or do some work.
The best bubble tea in College Park! Winter melon milk green tea is my favorite, but rose hip, coconut, and Thai teas are also good.
Really good bubble tea, with a lot to choose from. I had the traditional Thai tea and it was good.
Good bubble tea.
They make premium quality bubble tea, has a cafe-type feel environment, and always recieved great and friendly customer service when Ive visited.
Quick and pleasurable service. My children love it here because of the variety of drinks.
Their tea is always has powdery bits that arent the Boba balls. (only been twice.)
I love the fact that you can choose how much sugar and ice you add to your drink!
Parking is pay only if you can find it. They are located in a college town. It is handicap accessible. I like the concept of their drinks. They even seal the top and one uses a straw to puncture and then drink. The bubbles used did make the drink a little sweeter compared to just straight up. Both were tried. It was matcha. I did enjoy it, but I think it is slightly over priced. Wi-Fi is available at the store. It is not a very large store so any parties with a fair amount of people may be difficult to fit.
3rd time now ordering via the app only to arrive at the store and it be closed, this store is inconsistent and very unprofessional
The place is good. But I wish they had some options for food as well. ๐
I really like kung fu tea. Great place to grab great tea and chat with friends!
KFT is the best bubble tea in College Park! The bubbles are chewy (Q) and definitely not the 5minute ones youd find at Ten Rens. The tea is also higher quality than you would find at Jumbo Jumbo and is not as nauseatingly sweet. In fact you can customize quite a couple things about your drink. The milk tea is made dairy-free and Lactaid is an option for a couple categories of drinks. The prices are also set competitively and are actually cheaper than the other bubble tea in the area.Seating is harder to come by and the dining area can be crowded. Music is frequently loud, but there will be people studying or meeting up here. Parking is a little difficult.
Kung fu tea drinks are usually always good but this location does not make the best drinks. my taro slush was basically a ice snack. i literally had to eat it until my teeth hurt, lots of the ice wouldnt even go through the straw and i just ended up throwing most of the drink.
The tea is amazing and i recommend to anyone to give it a try!
Their tea is fine, but I somehow find the management off-putting. I feel like whenever I go (3 times now), they always pull some kind of fine-print bull. For example, during the grand opening, they had a special that was something like two for the price of one. I was told during the soft opening that the deal would be 2 for 1. I got a flier, then I saw that there was a list of 4 items to choose from for the 2 for 1. This is fine, I wasnt upset, but I go there with my girlfriend and we decide what we want, and then they pull some kind of they have to be the same drink bs. It just seems unnecessary, there wasnt a line, and I didnt see any utility beyond inconveniencing us into buying two drinks without taking the deal. Next, I go in and they have some kind of loyalty program. Sure, Ill take it, but you only get points on the program if you order larger more expensive drinks. I think it was 3.50 or more. I generally just want a medium tea (2.75) with bubbles (+0.50 watch out of that) which comes out 0.25 shy of the limit. It just feels like Im getting nickel and dimed, and I dont like it.TLDR, teas good, tasty bubbles, management and policy irk me.
One of the best kung fu teas I have ever been too!
Kung Fu Tea is great because they have quality teas and tons of customization options-- and this new location does not disappoint. The tapioca is fresh and while I still prefer Ten Rens across the street, this place is a welcome entry into CP.
Wow! Kung Fu Tea actually tastes LIKE TEA! A LOT of these bubble tea places kiiiinda taste like tea, but KFT is much more authentic!
The bubble tea here is fantastic- just like it always is at KFT. The tables and seating areas are well kept as well. This place also has a points system, so you can earn rewards if you are a frequent bubble tea drinker. My one complaint about this is that you have to use your credit card for it to count. My other complaint is that this place is very crowded at times. Since it is near UMD, it tends to be packed and since the shop is small there is a lack of seats at time. It also means wait times are long. There are other bubble tea places around the area that you can go to instead though. So 5/5 for drinks and overall maintenance of the place, but 3/5 for service.
I like their Peach Oolong because they dont put extra sugar in and the drink is not too sweet. Ive ordered it too often the staff actually knows every time I come in. I also like their Honey Oolong Milk tea, and my brother always orders Lemon Black Tea (with extra sugar because they make it REALLY sour, trust me).Service: improved a lot lately, and generally very friendly and helpful staff.Fast wifi, nice atmosphere to hang out, but not really for work/study because they play pretty loud music (according to my taste).Parking is opposite the street, 25 cents for 20 Minutes. Free parking on Sunday.I also like how theyre pretty generous with the amt of pearls lately.
A great Taiwanese Tea shop. The bubble milk tea tastes very similar to what you can have in Taiwan.
Honestly ... its so great. The multitude of options can be overwhelming on your first few times going. Download the app for deals!
Honey Milk Green Tea is killer and the boba is always fresh (meaning a good chewy texture).
I always go here for bubble tea. I love their winter melon tea its so sweet!
Love Kung Fu Tea. This location is always VERY clean with a great atmosphere!
Great evironment to study or just to simply fulfill your need for bubble tea
Many flavors of bubble tea and good place to hangout with friends!
Best boba i can find in the area. Not quite LA standards but its good. Doesnt scream made from powder mix
Great tea shop. Awesome staff.
Definitely my favorite bubble tea place of all time (this one in particular) they get busy at times but their drinks are always consistent. The people taking our orders are always friendly, overall, the quality of the bubble tea is really good. I Like this kung fu tea more than any other kft that ive been to.
Very very friendly staff. Ask for the servers recommendations when you get a chance; each one have their personal favorite and they are pretty darn good!
This is by far the best kung fu tea that Ive been to. It gives you stamp card rewards, doesnt have a lower limit for credit card usage, and serves snow!
Itโs was good but made my stomach hurt
Wintermelon with Oreo bits is a weird combo, but it works! Super delish. When in doubt, go with black milk tea!
Awesome place to get bubble tea!
Finally quality bubble tea at CP! Im a huge fan of Kung Fu tea and ecstatic to see theyve opened here. After patiently waiting and following their Twitter feed my friends and I stopped by right before they closed. We ordered the Winter Melon milk tea, Mango slush and Tiramisu. Winter Melon is my favorite and they make it very well here. My friends Mango slush had so much lychee in it. If your not a fan of all the lychee you can request them to reduce it. Mango tasted fresh and not powdered. Kudos to the training staff! Training the cashiers to offer samples and up sell the Tiramisu. I didnt expect it to taste this good, but it was rich and delicious. Between the 8 of us, 2 of the small cups were not enough. We all fought to get each and every piece of this dessert out of this poor small container. The staff was very attentive and excited even though it was late in the evening. One of our drinks took longer than expected and the staff was gracious enough to comp us a drink. I love how there is plenty of seating and most of our drinks took less than 5 minutes. A large milk tea with bubbles will bring your close to $5. Maybe expensive for some students, but well worth it with how much they give you. I would recommend maybe a student discount, student organization fundraisers or special offers for UMD students. Flavor and quality is consistent with other locations. I will definitely be back to try some of their other flavors.
Great place, taste goo. However, there is no parking!!
