Old faithful IKEA. Great new furniture. I came to look at the faucets and grab a quick lunch. As always you can get some great design ideas and gadgets for the home. My favorite are the duvets - they can always give a fresh look to a room. The food is pleasant. I got the Swedish meatballs, mash potatoes, and fries.
Overall rating of 4.7, went shopping in search of a specific type of bed frame. Was disappointed when I was informed they did not have that model in stock and opted to instead settle for the Malm variant. Buying the bed was super easy, when I confronted an employee he told me exactly what I needed to purchase. The bed came in 4 different items and the overall assembly of it was not too bad. However, take this with a grain of salt because I am a master builder and the process was mildly engaging.
If you - generally - dislike Ikea, you may need to seek special help! Its such a feel-good place. Colorful displays. Wonderful room layout suggestions. Great food - both in the cafeteria upstairs, and the smaller area near check out. So many options for organization. I always leave feeling I could organize the world in two hours, or less! Ive been visiting this particular location (College Park) since it first opened many years ago, and Ive never had any complaints. Its been clean. Staff members have been courteous. Ample parking. So many options for every area of your home and even office. Make sure to check out their live plant options, and the as-is/markdown area! I wish there was one closer to Raleigh, NC though - the closest one is three hours away.
I love IKEA trips and was so happy to help my daughter look for furniture for her new home. It was very disappointing this time though. More than half the products, a lot of which my daughter wanted, are temporarily unavailable! Its COVID related but I think they could do a better job of shipping from other stores in other states if items are able to be obtained that way.
Same old standby Ikea (which is a good thing!). A few things in pandemic times:The supply chain is a real bear in pandemic times, so check online to see if things are in stock before you go... Some things arent available anywhere in the entire country. Some HUGE things are free delivery because theyre not available anywhere nearby.Theyre offering free pickup these days which is AWESOME. They pick all your stuff and will even load it in your car for you. Could take a day or two or you may have to wait a day or two to order. If something isnt in stock at College Park, try Baltimore. You can sometimes find it if you dont mind the drive. Theyll also pick it and let you pick up.
At 6 pm Tuesday, totally empty. Few customers, almost 0 staff. Better demo/sample rooms than at any time in my 40 yrs of visiting (20 yrs Sweden, 20 US). Inspiring showrooms. As of 10/26/21, sold out of some/many popular products - check ahead, logistics issues not unique to IKEA.
Ikea is a great place for do it yourselvers and those who dont mind assembling their own furniture. The prices are good and the return policy is generous at 365 days! However on a recent visit to the College Park, MD store it was obvious they are having a hard time keeping their shelves stocked. Almost 1/3 of shelves were bare or limited stock. We had to change plan for a bed because they did not have the mattress we wanted and the support slats for the bed. It would be helpful if they mark out of stock items in the showroom so you dont have to go to the warehouse to find out theyre out and then you have to start all over!On a positive note, I commend Ikea for their commitment to environment by installing solar panels all over their parking lot.
Item shows severalIn-stock online...drove 30 miles in a rain downpour only to find out that was not true. Other customers looking for out-of-stock items as well. Understand the shortages these days...just wish the online info was in real time and accurate. Staff only somewhat helpful. Had lunch there instead. : )
Wide variety of furniture and accessories collection for bedroom, kitchen, kitchen, kids room, entertainment, almost everything that you need for your home. Also have budget friendly room designs and space limitations room design for customers to pick and choose. They also provide free custom estimates. Food court is amazing with very reasonable prices. New Almond cake is a must try.
We used their curbside furniture pickup and we had friendly staff. We were in/out in no time from a return trip, it was fulfilled before our requested time. Would definitely recommend this service to avoid unnecessary trips when there is lack of inventory.
Love it! Definitely make a day of it. Great food court! Shipping cost are crazy so have a day where you can wander and use their displays as inspiration. Full houses to compact ideas for home busses!! Wide array of textiles and modern furnishings.
What is going on at the College Park IKEA restaurant? The restaurant was a disaster today, and a safety hazard! There appeared to be some remodeling going on but everything was in disarray and a few tripping hazards. I’m a regular shopper here and don’t think I’ve ever seen the restaurant in such a chaotic state.
I would give the store 5 stars, but I wish theyd change the shopping carts to have weighted bottoms- theyre so hard to steer otherwise!Wait time at the returns/exchange center was not too bad, and the process was relatively painless.
Our experience the last night on the labor day was great thank you to Robert G.He helped us and many other families that were needing some help and advice to find their products. He was the only employee at this section who stayed there until the store was closing helping nicely to everyone who needed it with a big smile and a lot of patience. He should have some help because there were too many people, and he was the only one.
Generally, you can get good discount furniture as long as youre willing to put it together. Unfortunately, supply chain issues are greatly affecting availability of many items. None of the sofas we were interested in were available. We were able to get a bed and desk that we liked. But I had to drive to an even further store to get the drawers that go under the bed.
Just wanted to put in a good word for the kind, patient, helpful and very professional lady working at the Storage/Shipping desk this past Wednesday. Unfortunately I did not get her name, but she handled a rather nasty customer with class and patience, and deserves full credit for it!
You can’t go wrong with IKEA, and this one is great! I love that they have solar panels as a cover for the parking spaces. Also, I was trying so hard to find the white Lurvig cat beds, and it seems like all the IKEAs near me are out, and for some reason I couldn’t order them online. There were about 50 of them in stock here! The lines to check out looked really long because of social distancing, but they moved quickly.
Ikea is always a fun stop to see new stuff and find those things you didnt know you needed, as well as furniture you were looking for!It was a bit depressing seeing so many things out of stock due to the supply chain issues though. This location is typical of an Ikea and clean with helpful staff.
Its IKEA! Ya gotta try those Swedish meatballs in the food court. Good (usually great) furniture, at an awesome price, and staff do an excellent job of showing their furniture set up in their many open showrooms. They also have assorted toys, kitchenware, and even plants. Everything you could want in your place, all in one place!
They have awesome furniture but low inventory. I hate to wait months for something you want me to pay for today. Its 2021.
Pretty nice lots of home goods and displays of ways how they can be set up in different rooms of your home nice eating area if you get hungry and a small selection of Swedish foods
Id like to give a special shout out to the weather covers/shields in the parking lot. BRILLIANT!!! Ive never seen anything like it. If Nana doesnt feel like walking 3 miles inside, she can stay in the car, shielded from the elements while she Candy Crushes. The store itself is great, but we already knew that.
Required 3 trips to get a complete bookshelf. First trip picked up a bookshelf missing screws. Second trip I was provided with screws that were too long and damaged the piece. Finally on the third trip I was able to get a complete unit but was not allowed to inspect the contents before I purchased it (see trip 1 as to why I wanted to). Staff was gruff and barely helpful.
I purchased a beautiful armchair at a reasonable price today at IKEA and I really enjoyed the experience from choosing from their wide selection of bedroom armchairs to picking up in the large self-serve furniture area . It was my first time shopping for furniture here and the staff I spoke with was very helpful hereby making my shopping experience seamless. It’s a shame I didn’t get his name. Very beautiful warehouse space with different sections and wide variety of housewares, kitchenwares and all kinds of furnitures. It’s a must visit and I Highly Recommend !!!Good Service ✅♿️Wheelchair Accessible Entrance✅♿️Wheelchair Accessible Parking🅿️ Adequate Parking Space ✅🚻Restroom♿️Wheelchair Accessible RestroomSafety Dividers At Checkout ✅
Great service for curbside pickup, Helpful staffs
The IKEA policy for not allowing the public to contact anyone at a store needs to change. I wish to purchase a discontinued item off the show room floor and need authorization from a store manager. I am told I must go to the store to get authorization. There is no phone contact at the stores. If I do travel 100 miles to the store, I might find it was sold or would not be sold yet. And no, the web site cannot help me because the item is out of stock.
This particular Ikea did a better job the some of the others. The movers lost our shelf holders and home Depot didnt have replacements. We had visited one previously. They promised to send some because they didnt have any. But this particular Ikea, a worker went out of his way to find the part for us and get us the number we needed. That deserves a kudos.
Great service, even though we arrived at 8:15, only 45 minutes before closing. The stocker was super helpful, and found the last few items on my list for me. Thanks to self-checkout, we were out before 9 pm.
Nothing was in stock!! We had a very helpful salesperson help us design a storage cabinet system. All the shelves, drawers, lighting parts and 1 door was out of stock and they didnt even know when it would be back. No other store had three parts either. They advised us to buy the parts they had anyway!! Why would I do that without any assurance that I could finish it ever??? I walked away from a nearly $2000 purchase. Very disappointed!!
I always have a nice experience shopping and eating here. However their soda fountain machines are not working, so youre forced to buy bottled drinks if you want a beverage. I wish their stock on some items was better, but ultimately they are as good as any other Ikea Ive been to.
I like Ikea, everything to the home are specials. Good store!!
IKEA is a great Store to Shop for all your home and furniture needs. The Store has very reasonable prices and the Store Associates are very friendly and kind and helpful. IKEA is a very large Store and full of great Merchandise Displays and Designs. I shop at IKEA for all my home and Furniture needs they truly have a lot of great features and merchandise to offer. I Rate IKEA A 5 STAR RATING 🌹
Easy to get in and out here and stocks are very good most of the time. I havent been to the Baltimore location, but this is the best location in the area to me.
Twice as big as the Northern White Marsh, MD IKEA, and worth the drive.Always busy, especially on seasonal weekends, to the point of grid-lock. Restaurants food is some of the best and freshest in the chain.
First trip, and went back later for a second round. So much to see that cant take it all in at once. As a newbie, wished there were some signage or an associate to explain the order & pickup process. Easy once I knew, but didnt allow enough time. Also, rather bummed by the number of items out of stock. Maybe just supply chain/Covid related, but left without a few big ticket items.
My daughter and I went to look for items for her home office. We found everything she was looking for but there was this one floor canister lamp that they werent getting back on stock for 10 days out. But there were 3 models on the floor in different areas and when we asked if we could purchase 1 of the floor models, a Manager was so awesome and let us purchase 1 of them without any packing. We are so appreciative to that young Lady that was so kind to let us purchase 1. Great Customer Relations !! Thumbs Up For IKEA 👍
Looks like they let the place go. The Cafe was dirty panels falling off equipment. I have never been there and probably never going back. Im sure this place was something special once. Now it reminds me of a Walmart. Dirty parking lot, even the signs are falling apart. Not what I was expecting for such a place. We picked stuff out and none of it was there. So 3 plus hours to get there when all I should have done was go to a local furniture store. I guess if you are limited on space this would be a place to go for furniture. We looked on the website for the furniture we wanted and it will cost us 150 bucks to ship. So wasted gas and wasted time, but still neat to see.
I always enjoy my trips to IKEA. Even if Im not shopping for something specific, I always leave feeling inspired and with new ideas on how to decorate, organize and live more smartly in our space. My boys also like going - lots of visual stimulation for them. They recognize the play kitchen we have at home and like to check out the new play food/groceries they have on display (this time it was the cutest cheese and charcuterie picnic). When I take the kids, we stop for lunch, time permitting. My oldest gobbled up the smoked salmon cold plate, the youngest loved the salmon and broccoli on the hot plate and I had the veggie meatballs. All really good. Well be back!
We want to IKEA and we need help in furniture, we spoke to associates called Chantel this afternoon, she makes her self unavailable and keep texting on her phone and completely ignore us while we asked her to help us. She was very nasty, I really wish IKEA trained their staff very well. The place has a lot of nice stuff but it is too disorganized and really hard to find people to help.
The Kitchen Design and Planning Team are BEYOND incredible. Cannot recommend highly enough. I must have had three or four online appointments. Always professional, kind, and understanding of my inability to make quick decisions! Thank you, IKEA Team.
Its Ikea - what else can I say? Its our favorite place to shop for space saving case goods. The best advice I have is to shop during slower hours. The crowds and lines can be a bear.
I love Ikea, sometimes we have to go out of our usual stop nearby because of stock issues. College park has almost everything all the time.
I absolutely love IKEA! I JUST WISH THAT THEY WOULD LET YOU KNOW IF SOMETHING IS OUT OF STOCK. There are often items on display that you want but end up not being available.
IKEA is everything you want it to be as long as youre not trying to furnish your living room. I was looking for solid picture frames & I got solid picture frames. I also picked up a nice Welcome mat & a clear bin for my kids sports equipment. Get the picture? Nothing too serious or artsy, solid casual stuff. Thats it.
I love IKEA. Thats fact. All their stores are almost the same. Organized in their own way and so far I guess they work as predicted. This store is not an exception. Even it was Memorial Day when I was in visit, it was crowded but at the end it was easy and quick to get to register and pay your bill. Whenever I am at IKEA I have to pay bill for something.
The girlfriend put me on and I have enjoyed the experience, I really dont do crouds so I go really early usually as soon as it opens... I hear people event make dates out of the experience.😂 Which I thought was smart (if you are dating with a purpose).
Pros:Good food 😋Friendly staff 🤗Lots of choicesQuality furniture 💺Right on 495/95 exit 🚗Handicap accessible ♿Handicap parking ♿ 🅿Cons:Not sure 🤔Looking for a tv stand, end tables, as always there is always something you will like. Went home happy. If you like the review and/or the photos/videos, please hit like 👍 below to let me know, it is much appreciated 😊.
This is the first Ikea Ive been to since I was a young boy, but nothing much has changed and thats a pretty good thing. I came with my wife and my 4-year-old daughter and we all had a great time looking at the furniture and other assorted items, and playing in the different showrooms. My daughter really enjoyed pretending that she lived in each of the little rooms. We also had lunch in the restaurant and the food was very good and reasonably priced.
This location is well stocked and well organized 👌 The store is clean with items being updated regularly. The checkout moves pretty quick despite how many customers there are. They currently have their café available again and you can grab a drink/bite to eat on your way out as well.
So many inexpensive household goods. Great displays with creative spacesaving options!
IKEA used to be my go-to. It’s greatly slid downhill with poor service, empty shelves, and constant inventory mistakes. Nonetheless, the location is clean and accessible. The things that are in stock are typically great.
I love that they covered their parking lot with solar panels that provide shade for your car and better yet reduces their carbon footprint :)This store was nice and clean like always, however they are dealing with product shortages like everybody else.
This is my go to IKEA in this area. I live in NOVA and prefer this location over the Woodbridge location. Going on the weekdays after 12pm is not recommended because of the crazy DMV traffic.
Love Ikea. Sad that they dont carry the plant balls they have in Europe. The staff at Ikea College Park is so helpful, especially the young man who helped me in the mattress department today.
I love ikea but, the service has gone down hill on the food. I am so sad. None of the Fountain machines were working. They were filling the soda refrigerator with warm drinks and not rotating the cold ones to.the front. Ugh...
Ikea has good parking and food is very good and diy shopping at its best and prices are very reasonable
Had lunch there and did a little shopping. Swedish Meatballs, no joke, are great, as are mashed potatoes and broccoli and salmon fillet. Very reasonable too . But try to do your shopping online. Once you get in the store it is almost impossible to find your way out we spent hours just searching for an exit
I mean this is a pretty good Ikea other than the fact that Ive been locked in the same closet for 6 weeks. So 4 outta 5 seems good.
I love this IKEA, the cafeteria lady was rude when I told her I wanted two meals with on gravy, she kinda gave me rude gesture didnt listen and gave me 2 gravies, when I corrected her on it nicely, she gave me more attitude on her mistake. No sorry or anything. But other than that Ive never had a problem and everyone is nice.
This location has been here for years. It has always been consistent with its service and how clean the store is. Even on a busy weekend you wont find it difficult navigating around the location. Food here is a definitely a must try. My friends and I munched on the Swedish meatballs, salmon balls, salmon filet and the marinated salmon. The food was delicious and for 4 entrees very in expensive. Best thing to do before come here is plan out your day. Know exactly where you are going and what you need to find. The parking a lot can be chaotic at times, but dont expect a long way to get to the loading dock. Great place to take the kids at they have a kids play area by the restaurant as well.
Great location. Huge facility. Great products. Great prices.
Let me say first that my review has nothing to do with IKEAs merchandise. It is about their store. I have never been in a store designed in such an annoying, inefficient and blatantly confusing fashion. The byzantine path you must take to view any specific type of furniture will take you no less than 15 minutes...each way...not including the 10 times you will find yourself going in circles. Do NOT enter this place unless you have 2 hours youd like to waste. On top of this, fully 50% of their stock was Temporarily Not Available. Avoid at all costs. Useless store.
My first time at IKEA and of course I was in heaven! Walking around the smell of new furniture and great customer service is always good when shopping. As usual it was a busy day and there a LOT of people shopping. After all it was a Saturday and it is IKEA what can I say! :)
European style furniture in compact sizes, you cant find in most of US. If you get really small place or bathroom to decorate is best place to go. I never so such small sink options anywhere in my life. Price points are low reasonable with good quality, if you dont mind to put all together like Lego Furniture
The greeter was friendly, courteous & gave me a mask because I accidentally left mine in my car!
Great delivery through TaskRabbit or Lugg. Great place to purchase a mattress. Super easy and fast. Nice displays.
It has a playground. And food. They also have shopping.
Generally good service. Store is well laid out and items are easy to find.
I need a scotters or wheelchair to get around in this store, however, they offer neither. Which is shocking to me, handicap people shop and spend money. However, I asked for a Manager and gave her my list and the Manager had a staff member pull my order. She was quick and brought everything up front for me to cash out. Id like to thank the Manager and the staff member who helped me. Id also like to put Ikea on notice...your treatment of handicap people is unfair. Based on the size of your store, you should offer these devices. Electric wheel chair & electric scooter. I await your written reply.
So many empty shelves, so many products out of stock, most ikea employees do not check to see if you need help especially the guy who stands near the drawer station. I prefer the Woodbridge location. That is all
Great shopping experience every time. Things are neatly organized. I do need to mention that recently, due to Covid-19, a lot of items are low in stock or out of stock. But they do a pretty good job at updating that on their website. Good prices, good items and easy checkout. You can have a cashier check you out or do it yourself at the register. They have partitions and floor stickers for proper social distancing.
Ikea is not my favorite place because it is the most complex shopping experience ever. The products are great if you can find what you want. However the place is configured in such a way that you cannot take a look at specific sections and exit. One is forced to walk the entire store even just to buy one item. No shortcuts out to checkout! Further they have the most painful online- store integration I have ever seen. The site doesnt have a show me whats in my store option. It does not even have a show what can be delivered to me option. As a result the user is forced to meander aimlessly around the web site and start at square one everytime.
Bring your walking shoes, eat first, especially the meatballs... Everything is hard to find but at least you ate good and saw some ideas.
Horrible delivery service. If I could give zero stars, I would. This is our second horrible experience with this ikea delivery service from College Park. We recently had a bunch of items delivered to our house, the delivery men came with NO MASKS! Highly unprofessional and disrespectful. When we asked them to put masks on, they refused. We then refused to let them in without masks. After much debate, they put masks on. How is this allowed!?!?!? I am baffled! We had a bad experience with this Ikea delivery about two years ago as well, but we thought maybe this time it will be better. Never again. Not doing business with them again. BUYER BEWARE
A day late to fulfill my Click and Collect order then gave me the wrong numbered boxes. Now I need to drive back. Customer service on the phone isn’t helpful. Terrible customer experience.
Completely unprofessional customer service experience while recently shopping at Ikea college park MD! I was interested in understanding Ikea wardrobe designs to get a good quote hence found a person sitting right near to the wardrobe section. Upon approaching him, we were first told to get the exact dimensions of the room before sitting down with him, which was completely agreeable. Having gathered necessary info from our side, we approached him again, followed by him asking us the measurements of our room in a completely unpleasant tone. This was initially thought to be us not understanding what is been asked by him, only to realize later that he was absolutely impatient in explaining what and how the designing works, literally scolding us about knowing exact dimensions of the room and upon confronting him about the same, he stated that he was not being harsh on us, just explaining things! I was not told where the wardrobe doors were located- and was questioned as to why I did not look at those sliding doors before we came to speak with him. I still kept my patience and went to check the doors and was back with response from him about that particular door being discontinued. We then left, as there was no point considering any different door types as my wife requested him to show some more, on which, he merely browsed and stated that color is not available in any other patterns. This experience is not something I would want anyone else to have, hence decided to write about it.Quick note at the end- Do your homework about the types of wardrobe, their names, their dimensions, furniture in your house where you need wardrobe and everything, before you sit down to ask for quote, because they wont tolerate you if do not do your homework well! Sad and angry!
I came here looking for some shelving and I found more than what I was looking for. All for a great price. I Like this store!!! There are great pictures of their furniture. The workers are eager to help you find what you need!!!
I have been to about 10 IKEAS across the US. I recently visited the Pittsburgh and the Columbus locations. The College Park, MD store is by far the worst Ive ever been to. Not only do they not have any inventory, they have over half of the store mislabeled. The aisle and bin locations are not correct. The computers say they have items in stock that they dont. The employees are less than friendly or helpful. Overall the experience was exhausting, frustrating and very unpleasant.
Everything was fun and awesome as usual but literally everything i wanted was out of stock
Went to pick up furniture that went well. Decided to go in store which went badly. You cannot shop here without a mask. They do not give out masks if you do not have one and they do not sell them either. Ikeas loss we went elsewhere and shopped. You may want to rethink not selling or even handing out masks.
Beautiful layout as always and swift servicing when I needed it. And those cinnamon buns are on another level.. I had one for the first time and it was an experience... very soft inside with alluring layers but not at all gummy.. mm mm mm 😋
I love Ikea great place to shop for all kinds of house hold items.
They delivered incomplete couch for my rental property. I understand that order can get misplaced at large operations but worst part is theyre not doing anything to fix this. My guests are without couch for 14 days. Worst customer service ever
Very clean. Not too busy on a weekday with an 11:30 a.m. arrival. Food/grocery area on the ground floor needs to be stocked with plastic bags for the goodies that are purchased in that same area versus hearing, Were out of bags right now.
Great for what it is, affordable furniture and housewares. Was very crowded when we visited and staff were not very friendly or helpful, they didnt seem to know where things were located when asked. J
Always a pleasure to shop here. I get good ideas for decorating and reasonably priced ideas. Thanks.
Nothing in stock. Displays are ok. No covid restrictions. Not good. Good diversity.
