I had a shipping issue with an order thats still getting resolved, but this has led to one of the owners calling me on his personal cell phone to help get sorted out. The shipping issue was caused by the freight company, not these guys. If you have any trouble getting ahold of someone at this company, its because they are in an area hit really hard with covid. Just please be patient, they will take care of you, I am extremely impressed with Scott at amclives and hope we continue to work together for a long time.

I am changing my review! After speaking with Scott, I understand the extreme shortage of help American Performance is currently experiencing due to the impact of Covid illnesses within the company. Scott is a quality, personable and customer oriented individual and explained in great detail how the part I received will be handled . Scott is one of the most knowledgeable people I have talked with in regards to AMC vehicles, parts and the many differences even within identical models and years and gas assured me the issue will be properly addressed. I have whats close to a barn find car up here in Canada, and to complete it I needed some rubber items and a few small things to get it done! To my absolute shock, this company actually had listings for obscure parts I needed for my 73 ambassador.. just amazing! And to boot, they would ship to Canada.... and more than that they actually answered the phone! I cant say enough good things about my experience with Scott and the team at AMClives.com First, the items I needed fit the car perfectly.. better than I was expecting actually, and everything is very high quality (reproductions) and in perfect shape for NOS items. What a great resource for our old cars! Thanks to everyone!

Great Company to Deal with. One off the owners personal called me today. Just to let me know that he is back from being deathly ill. He informed today they will be shipping out some back order parts today. Great person and company to deal with, I also ordered a new hood insulation kit a while back and it was damage from being folded to tight. I sent photos and they replaced it ASAP. No issues shipping to Canada.

Posting this for my husband. He does not have a Google account but wanted to submit a review: I ordered a part (s) several weeks ago. The Company then went silent for a week. I’ll admit I was irritated and not sure what the heck was going on. As we all know there are bad actors out there. I then got a call from one of the owners stating there had been a Covid outbreak and some folk, including himself, were really sick. Hospital sick. He was very apologetic and promised to make it right which he did. He gave me a discount and free shipping. I can tell he is passionate about what he does. These are strange times. There is lots of disruption with freight, supply chains, lack of workers etc. You see it everywhere. As a result, I try and give folk a break during this unrest. Especially the service workers who show up. Some things are truly beyond our control S#!* happens. Thanks AMC lives. I am happy with my purchase and your service!

My car has been sitting for months because I cannot get in touch with Scott, on August 18, 2021 I shipped my booster to Midwest power brake products in Homosassa, Florida to have it rebuilt. Scot told me it would take 2 -3 weeks max. After the 3rd week I called and emailed Scott numerous times to find out where my booster was, with no response. On September 20th I emailed Midwest about my brake booster and it had been done and waiting to ship but Scott didn’t respond to their request to verify I had paid for the work being done. I sent Midwest verification that I had paid Scott for the rebuild and they shipped it out the next day. Midwest did an excellent job on the booster and we’re very helpful in getting my booster back to me ASAP. As of Oct. 6, 2021 I still have not got a call or email from Scott, I will purchase future parts for my amc at other more responsible vendors.

Family owned, 40+yr old, neighborhood auto parts business. You can find just about ANY AMC, Eagle, Rambler, & Jeep part you could possibly need from the 60s to the 90s and more! Great people, prices, and products! If rebuilding AMC, Eagle, Rambler, & antique Jeeps are your thing...you need these guys in your life!!!

Ordered a fuel sending unit for a ‘74 Gremlin and I never received a confirmation email. I can’t track the item that I paid for, which has already been drafted from my account, I can’t get ANYONE on the phone to get it sorted out, and the part should have already been delivered. This is by far the WORST part company I have ever dealt with! *Correction* WORST PART COMPANY I HAVE EVER PAID, because dealing with them would imply that they actually responded!!!

I currently have 3 AMC cars (1970 Rebel, 1972 Javelin, 1973 Gremlin). I have used American Performance Products as my primary go to for all of the parts I need. This includes carpet, interior parts, gaskets and seals, suspension items, fiberglass items (spoiler) springs and bushings plus associated hardware. They have consistently provided the right part for the car (try to get Rockauto to do that) and each part was of high quality and well manufactured. The shipping has consistently been fast enough to meet my needs and well fast enough for me to stay on track with my restoration. In addition every shipment arrives well packaged with everything wrapped up well and in good condition. The web site provides good information about the parts and I have been able to consistently find what I need. I have personally spent thousands with them and fully intend to come back when I need other parts. The one time when there was a shipping error the person on the phone was immediately responsive and ensured that my problem was resolved 100% it was exceptionally clear to me that he cared about making sure that I had what I needed and really cared about AMC Cars. Very good company and definitely a valuable resource to keep your AMC on the road and running great.

I just ordered a rear window seal for my 65 Rambler American. The pictures on the site shows a square seal which I need for the squared off rear window and to fit moldings. Unfortunately what I got was just a circular seal . It got here when it was supposed to. But I really cant do anything with it. Not sure if I should even try to get it replaced or just go with another vender. We are in 2 different worlds. California and Florida.Adam G

Late last year (2019). I ordered a caliper set for my 1976 Jeep CJ-7. Since I have owned it sometimes I order parts and there not for this year. Or they are for this year but this jeep may have other year parts on it. So sometime just because a part looks like the one you want or it says its for that year-not usually the case. Anyway, I ordered these calipers late last year and due to certain circumstances I just got to start working on my front brakes June of 2020 Come to find out these calipers are to big and no calipers slide bolt holes like mine. I was going to try to sell online since its been 6-8 mos. since I bought them and out of date on return policy, but they did have a lifetime warranty. So I emailed and sent a copy of my orig sales receipt expecting them to say no about returning and I would under stand if they didnt take them back. They said to take comparison pics of theirs and my caliper to show the differences and a copy of orig. email sales receipt. As long as the calipers are still new like and not damaged they would refund my cost of parts plus the shipping cost to ship to me, since I paid shipping to send them back. It took 3 days to get there and that same day I had an email saying they will refund all the money I spent and even was able to credit back to my credit card even after all those months. I was totally happy that they went out of there way-quickly I might add to fix my problem that I created.So GREAT JOB guys and gals at AMERICAN PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS!!!!!!!!

I ordered a hood that was damaged. I took photos while it was still in the box and emailed the company back in may. I called and asked when I could get a replacement. He said I can ship one out next week. I waited one month and called again. This cycle has repeated for 7 months. The fact that there was absolutely no damage to the box means it was already damaged before shipping and the company has no quality control. I have since purchased another hood from a different co. and it is a better quality product. It is very sad when we encounter companies who value their money over doing the right thing.

I ordered a trunk lid “latch type” for my amc Javelin,400.00,and 180.00 for the chreight and shipping to ny,i was excited to bring this trunk lid to the professional body shop,only for them to unbox it,and laugh at me,the trunk was extremely short to the body lines on both sides,was wavy on the top panel side,the body shop owner explained to me that it could be fixed,but$$$,to fix an item I paid for with intentions that it would be in ready to sand,and paint,I understand that fiberglass is not perfect,and needs a little resto,but all in all,that much fill would defeat the purpose of going for a lightweight trunk lid!!i called jerry”the owner”after 13 days”when I had the day off to get the trunk lid to the body shop,and he said he would get with his fiberglass guy,and call me back,I never got the call back,and it’s now January,jerry was a nice guy,and I hate writing a bad review,but lesson learned,stay original,now I have a trunk lid hanging on the wall of my liveing room,just as a reminder,not to buy unless I see it first!

The AMC parts and the knowledge I needed for my 1974 AMC Javelin AMX. They have over 12,000 new and NOS parts...which is great. I needed new weatherstrip, window felt, a variety of clips, and many replacement part including a fiberglass replacement hood.Everything I received fit like it should and was high quality. Their kits saved me a lot of time and included the tools I need to install/remove my weatherstrip. Their fiberglass hood had the substructure just like my warped original and my original springs and latches worked fine.

Worst customer service of any company ever. Took week to just give est which never was received, after cancelling order had to call back a week later for refund which had not been issued. This company forgets to return calls except at their convenience and owners once involved was even worse. Proceeded to explain how theyre delay was my fault because Im ignorant..Lol I run a very successful Hvac buisness and definitely dont have this poor managed buisness.also owner Scott wrote one of good reviews probably other employees too lol

Horrible experience. Placed an order, spoke with the owner in person and was shipped the wrong item. Due to the size, there was a large shipping cost associated. When I contacted him to return the item, he told me mistakes are made and wrong orders slip through the cracks sometimes. He refused to pay for the return shipping and fix this issue. I’m now stuck with a part for the wrong car, and out the large shipping cost. Very unprofessional... Don’t order anything online with them, they won’t stand behind their products.
