Hiked 2 miles in a rush to get there before 7pm since the first associate I spoke with conveyed to me that I would need to be there by 7pm to sell my Xbox for cash. At 6:55pm I was in the parking lot on foot approaching the store and decided to call once more to assure them that I am less than 1 minute away only to be told by this other associate that for purchasing customer items I needed to be there by 630pm so that he can test the merchandise before buying it from me. This is completely understandable and I get it; people scam businesses quite frequently. What upsets me is that I hustled as fast as I could for 2 miles on foot carrying a video game console based on the information given by the first associate, only to basically be told the equivalent of sorry pal, better luck next time by the associate when I called just before 7pm.Therefore, my gripe does not lie with either of the two employees who answered the phone. I truthfully am most bothered by the inconsistency of information given to me within a mere 2 hour period over the phone. This type of problem lies squarely upon the owner/manager for neglecting to encourage consistency and adherence to uniform rules of the establishment. How is one expected to patronize an inconsistent establishment which degrades consumer confidence and sentiment?I hustled 2 miles on foot, in the dark, as an epileptic only to basically be told to kick rocks because the associate closing on this night made it quite clear with the nuance of his voice and demeanor that he wasnt about to work past 7pm regardless of whatever hardship or misinformation I endured prior to speaking with him alone. Perhaps he doesnt get paid what he thinks hes worth and doesnt feel that doing a little bit extra is worth it at this job. If that is in fact true then I cant bring myself to direct anger or frustration toward him, seeing as he likely has troubles of his own and doesnt have the energy nor wherewithal to bother with the likes of me. Once was a time that things didnt work this way. A time I truly wish that corporate America could find the means to bring back exceptional service and exceptional people

Anytime you are going to sell or buy used or pre-owned video games or any type of memorabilia, you expect to not get much in return for both selling or trading but here they are a hit or miss because remember... They are not huge and are a mom and pop shop. They have great staff and in my experience they were very friendly and accommodating to the items I was looking for. The staff was knowledgeable and you can tell they had a passion for video games and collector items.

Been A Long Time Customer But My Last 2 Purchases Havent Been So Great I Bought A Sega Genesis And A Playstation 1 And For Both Consoles Theyve Given Me The Wrong Power Cords That Dont Even Go To Them I Hate Having To Go Back For Things Like That I Live In Fresno And I Gotta Go All The Way Back To Clovis So That They Can Give Me The Proper Cords?? Cant Keep Making Those Mistakes If You Want Your Customers To Be Happy And Satisfied Especially If You Want Them To Keep Coming Back.

If you have a system that needs repairing, do NOT come here. Their repair tech is extremely defensive and rude about being questioned for putting out my console as cleaned and giving zero notes about the system still not working. Instead of being offered a refund for giving me back an item still not working and definitely not cleaned at all, I get hung up on with an attitude and told there are no refunds at their store. Absolutely scummy business practices, poor customer treatment, and worst of all no accountability. Theyll gladly take your money but wont deliver on their end.edit* Now, I am being accused of being abusive, this is ridiculous. Obviously, there are shady business practices going on here by making paying customers look bad when they need an issue to be FIXED, not given the run around.

Great game selection for all systems with good prices. I wouldn’t buy any controllers from them I got a “new” ps3 controller from them and it doesn’t work at all it’s pretty obvious it was refurbished. But decent game store

Go to eBay, This guys have nothing most of the time, and is really overpriced. They really dont care about the games they are selling, since majority of them are caked in dirt and dust. The consoles however are the only saving grace, MOST of them are clean. Most of the time, come in there and make a pity purchase because they are the only local game store in the Fresno area. Theres plenty of sellers on EBAY, that actually clean the games and have it for a cheap price.

When you take in a console for repair, youd expect to have it repaired right? I took 2 consoles for repair twice, and nothing was done to them. Theres not much you can do after the 30 day warranty except being forced to pay again for repairs. I bought the same console somewhere else (less than the repair price) to make sure it wasnt my TV or connections and it worked. Im giving 2 stars because a 3rd console I brought it for repair actually got repaired. All good things must come to an end I guess.

I have frequented Blue Shell for some time now. I am there 3 to 4 times a month as I pick up Wish purchases of my daughters for her small business. Blue Shell GAMING is a family run business. Everyone I have come in contact with at this business has been so kind, patient and knowledgeable and always ready to answer any given question and help if needed.I have watched this business grow from a little unknown place with little to no customers to a booming business with lots of customers and a reputable business familier to the community of Clovis.

We go to Blue Shell often. They have a good game selection and repair our consoles as needed. Staff is super nice.

I went in for a repair for my ps4 for overheating and when I got it back they fixed the overheating but apparently broke, did not screw in my HDD (Hard Disk Drive) properly, or did not align it correctly so now my ps4 rejects any disc I put into it and it spits it out. I went in to blue shell to fix one problem and they gave me another. If this was fixed or if THE MANAGER CALLED ME BACK Id give more then 1 star.

LEnjoyed the staff and being able to find a good selection for prior console stock that i can find in person. Would like to see bigger stock but understandable for trade base only. Enjoyed both fresno and clovis locations, the fresno location has bigger stock though.

Amazing so much to choose from lots of consoles and games from retro to modern systems. Well be coming back soon. Getting my ps4 fixed at Clovis blue shell well see how it goes.

This place has lots of old games and systems, the stuff memeber i worked with was really friendly only down side is some of the stuff is a bit high in price like $50 for a gameboy color game

The place is kind of small, but the space is used efficiently to display a large amount of inventory. There is a large variety of games, with pretty much every gaming console I could think of, and a few Id never heard of, being represented. If they dont have what you are looking for, they can order it for you. I believe they also do repairs/refurbishments on older consoles.The assortment of collectibles is small, but they did have some unique items that I hadnt seen before. It seems as though they are trying to get into the collectibles market and just havent built a large inventory, which may be a blessing in disguise given their limited space. They are definitely worth checking out if you are in the area, however, if you are looking for something specific, give them a call and they can tell you whether they have it in stock.

Purchased broken equipment. They tested it and were at a loss for words. Stores in the phone it would be refunded. Denied a refund and offered store credit within 2 hours of purchase with a receipt. Also charged a higher price then listed. The difference was placed back on my card, I think, and was not provided a receipt.

Bought Shenmue 2 here and they forgot to give me a disc

This place was awesome, alot of retro games.

I took my ps4 here to be fixed because the disc was not going in fully and we paid 45$ to have it fully checked and it took three weeks for them to look at it and they said it was ready to be picked up I was so excited and when we brought it home we plugged it in the disc would still not go in they dented a part inside and broke a piece. So I will never go here again and would not suggest this place.

They were pretty cool there. Depending on the gaming system they didnt have a very large variety but the did carry a lot of awesome stuff. Loved the yoda that not for sale unless you got $700. Lol

Good stock and efficient staff. We came primarily because of their service of receiving Wish items for a discount on shipping but fun to see all of their gaming inventory (come to be nostalgic).

This place has lost my faith in them. Dont try to return things because they will probably try to test out the item and tell you its not broken. Or like last time yell in the back because to them it was working or whatever but not for me when I was promised it would work on pc.Bad attitude for the big guy wearing all black with a cap. Not going back because of him. On top of them selling stuff really high and ripping you off for your items. I got like less than 20 dollars once for my 3ds system and my games were worth nothing.

This store is great! They are always friendly, and their stock is in great condition. Once I came in and they had a Sega Saturn with a RAM cart, 2 Japanese controllers and a game for $200. I couldnt pass it up and everything worked well. Every game Ive bought from them has had no issues as well.

Glad they can rebuffer games but they are quite pricey when it come to buying games. To trade or sell games, they pay or credit close or less than gamestop. Best bet would be to sell through eBay or another online venue. Be informed of game pricing and educate yourself on prices for games before you sell. 😊

I really want to say I love this place, but I only like it. They have a variety of consoles from many generations. They games are (mostly) in order. My one complaint is that all of the cases for handheld consoles are put in a box under the games. The box is hard to navigate through and hard to find what you are looking for. Also, they just have Wiis on a shelf for some reason which I thought was also really weird.

It was cool I got a platinum gamecube if you have a gamecube you know the games are expensive like you got to take your rent money to buy chibi robo. A lot of time retro game stores are a bit more pricey with the games which I think its worth it because you can check how the game looks but the gamecube games were the same or less than in ebay. Nice place sometimes I go just to see old games and gameconsoles.

I paid $125 for an HDMI port repair on a PS4, which I picked up on July 6th, 8 weeks ago. Upon pick up I was told the repair has a 1-year warranty. This weekend the HDMI port stopped working again. I took the console back to Blue Shell Gaming and informed a representative, Cesar, of the issue and that I was told the repair had a 1-year warranty. Cesar confirmed the issue and stated he would call his manager “to see what he could do”. After speaking with his manager Cesar stated the repair was only good for 30 days. I asked to see a copy of their written warranty and was told there isn’t a written warranty. I asked to speak with his manager or for a phone number to speak with the manager. Cesar called his manager, Kevin, who refused to speak with me and stated he would be in the store tomorrow at noon. I am extremely unhappy with the inconsistency and lack of customer service provided.

My husband and I love this place! They sell all kinds of games from Atari to Xbox One. Excellent condition too. We bought a GameCube, a Nintendo Wii, a PS2, and a lot of games.They also have a loose disk bin just in case you need to sell any games. Oh, yeah! They buy your used games too! Cool guys, excellent staff, and very professional. Highly recommend.

Cool little hole in the wall where you can find vintage games and systems all the way back to Atari! They buy sell trade. I was routed here by GameStop while looking for psp video games for my daughter. Ended up bringing back memories. Great place, they have NES, SNES, Sega, Game Boy, PSP, Atari, PS Vita, XBOX, PS4 and every other throw back I didnt mention!

Meh they dont offer very much for for items you bring in I tried to sell a fight stick and I just because I wanted to think about it they lowered the offer they tried to offer 60 than 50 but legendz cards and comics offered me 90 for it 120 store credit..

Fun selection and prices. Each and every one of the staff members is expert and helpful. I forget how much fun I have here each time I come back. When I moved from Salinas I never thought anyone could match Aarons Gamers in Control at the mall but theyre at the same level ( while being stylistically totally different). Going all the way back to Electronics Boutique game stores are the new tradition to savor like a samurai.

Not A bad place just needs more selection of retro games. Also need to find a balance in the vintage retro games. The high price in old games will scare customers away.

Its improved since Ive last been there like 3 or 4 years ago, but the selection is still kinda lacking. They basically have the stuff thats in high demand, and thats it, and whats in high demand gets sold out really fast.So if you have an extra five minutes to pop in, do it, because thats how long it takes to wander in and check out their selection.

Its a nice store with a ton of cool vintage games but it is really overpriced. Im all for supporting local businesses, but this was a bit excessive. I found a console clone for NES for $70 when it was selling on Amazon for $35. I know, I know...I cant expect him to compete with Amazon and I would have gladly paid $10 more to support the store, but double the price? Come on, guy. You gotta find a better supplier. Youre getting robbed. Im not gonna give this place three stars because I know reviews can have a serious impact on the reputation of a business, but another thing...the clerk was kind of rude and dismissive. Other than that, nice store

Love going here to get our gaming fix and to buy things that most other stores no longer carry. Weve come here to get our PS4 serviced and cleaned almost a year ago, and havent had ANY issues since!! Also love coming here for the nostalgia of all of the classic games my family and I played and STILL enjoy! Great atmosphere!!

We went on their game night, it was fun and interesting. Some folks brought their gaming rig to the store and set up, played against other players and had fun. The owners dog was the cutest thing and they have some cool stuff there. Definitely check it out and challenge your skills during game night.

I went in twice. Once to buy a memory card, once to return it as it was defective. The buying process was fantastic and customer service was superb.When I went to return it as it was defective and didn’t have packaging, I was told I’d get store credit since they didn’t have the same item. I asked for a refund as it was a defective used product and there was no replacement. After some back and fourth a refund was agreed upon due to the very specific circumstances. I appreciate the understanding on the owner’s part, especially since I was a less than easy customer to deal with. A great store, overall. Not too many like it left around here.P.S. Went in looking for a control for ps3. They had after market which I had no problem with, but they are pricey even for being after market at 35. For 35-40 you can get a ps3 sony controller online at Walmart. Other then that they do have alot of games cheap. Thats a plus. Customer service was very professional. Answered all my question and helped me look for certain games.

This place is nostalgia in a shop and as any small business does, always has friendly service! I especially like their cheap used DVDs and Blu-rays. I always find new(old) movies that I can add to my collection and their selection of games and collectibles isnt anything to scoff at. The pricing is quite reasonable. Sometimes Ill just stop by to browse 🤷🏽‍♂️ The only reason this place gets 4 stars out of 5 is because they dont have the latest and most up to date checkout station. A trivial problem at most but the slightest bit irritating nonetheless.
