The outside area has amazing bbq chicken!The inside area, I went in to ask for a whole chicken cut up & there saw was broken. So they couldnt cut the chicken. That was a disappointment but that led me to the outside, where I bought already cooked chicken (less work for me, tasted amazing but sad that a butcher place had no means to butcher my chicken...) inside was clean & nice. Bought some amazing mangos for $.99! (:
Reading some of the other whining complainers here just makes me laugh. This place is amazing! Discovered for the first time last week as I’m new to the area. Highly impressed on the grocery side of the operation!!! Selection/variety is huge! Fast service! A week later I have cooked all of my purchases and everything was awesome and I’m going back today!I can’t speak for the takeout food side of the business and its quality as I haven’t ordered the takeout food yet, but if you want food made fast you should go to McDonald’s where they won’t waste your precious 13 minutes or whatever…
We called ahead to see if they had meat cooked. Still had to wait 25 minutes after arriving.Asked for medium rare, got home to find we received well done. It was dry, tough and absent of any juice and not much flavor.Im hoping it was a bad cut of meat or they gave us the wrong order. Wont be going back.

Been going to the meat market for years, specifically this location. Always a great selection and friendly people. The grill is also a great spot to stop for lunch or to grab a bite when you finish shopping.
Stopped by for tri-tip Tuesday. Wait was short. Was charged $29.99 which was a surprise since they advertise in the Clovis Round-Up for $27.77. Also charged for slicing even though I didn’t ask for it. At home, found chili beans were not cooked through...not crunchy, but chalky. Seasoning was overdone. Very disappointed. Liter of Pepsi was fine. The good folks at the Meat Market need to pay attention to their advertising, taste their sides and listen when customers order.,
Very polite service and a wonderful variety of spices, rubs, and sauces for BBQ. They have a lot of stuff thats hard to find elsewhere. Definitely recommend

Went today 7/25/2021 for 2 tri tips 2 fries and 2 large drinksThey took like 40 mins just to get me my foodAnd i asked him how long it would take the dude was like 5 minsDont waste your time just go to DogHouse Grill way better and wait is way shorter for how packed they always are if i could give them no stars or half a star i wouldTrust people dont go
In the past few times Ive been to this Meat Market, Ive never had an issue. Today I went there about 2 hours prior to closing because I figured they would run out of food in the last hour. I ordered 1 rack of ribs, 1 whole chicken, 1 tritip, and 2 quarts of rice pilaf. When I started unpacking my food at home I realized they didnt give me my ribs. I should have checked before I left because I live 20 minutes away. I called and was told I could just show my receipt and I will get my ribs. I drove all the way back and explained my situation to the lady in the front. She said they ran out of ribs. I was really annoyed at this point because I purposely didnt come within the last hour so I could avoid the running out of stuff situation. At that point the only thing I could do was get a refund or another thing of tritip which I wouldve had to pay an additional $10 for. Fortunately the guy I spoke to one the phone saved me a rack of ribs so the issue was resolved. I understand the 4th of July is busy but they should double check customers order especially if they are getting more than a sandwich or some side items. 🙄🙄🙄
After a poor experience the first time ( waited over 20 minutes to order from the Deli with two people In front of me) I decided to give It another shot. Waited for 13 minutes for the lone employee to make two sandwiches at the deli counter. Then when It was my turn the girl behind the counter said the lady behind me was first ? She had about 8 packages of beef In her cart and had finished up at the meat counter. She then came to the deli counter at the same time I was going to pick up some lunch meat. After the girl behind the counter said I had to wait for her too I left. I will never go back again and waste my time In line for over priced meat, deli, and other groceries. In two trips I wasted a minimum of 45 minutes of my time and this time will be the last. Will tell all of my friends to stay away too. Plenty of other choices for meat and deli In this area.
Had Tuesday tri-tip special. Medium rare tri-tip was VERY tough. Had chili beans for my side and the beans were hard as well. Its too bad because everything was seasoned well but not cooked right at all.

Simply the best meat EVER !! these guys carry Harris Ranch beef (Finest meat in Cali, maybe the entire USA) The staff was great, and the head Butcher was Spot On! (Traeger Prime Rib rub recommendation)I just purchased a new BlackStone Grill and was told The Meat Market was the best place to purchase Harris Ranch Steaks (purchased a Prime rib also) and I told my wife... from now on....you call me Griddler. Harris Ranch Ribeye Steaks (Prime) from The Meat Market will be the best steaks you ever tasted. I know they were for me.

Pleasant first trip to this place. I was quite hesitant since its a good little drive from my new place. The kid at the window was great and they were not skimpy with the meat in the pulled pork sandwich like other notable places. They just don’t take phone orders for a single person meal.

This is a nice meat market. Very clean inside and outside. They have lots of different chicken and beef. Lots marinated. They have some fish too.

The last two times we have ordered they have completely screwed it up. We have gotten the wrong fries, the wrong sandwich and sandwiches not the way we ordered. Customer service has been atrocious. It’s not very difficult to fill an order for two people
Finally was able to visit the Meat Market in the strip mall at Shepherd and Fowler in Clovis. As expected, their BBQ tri-tip was awesome.I had the daily sandwich special that is a tremendous value. Theyre currently (June 2020) having the social distancing, but good food did not suffer.
Things here are pricey but the quality is worth paying a little extra. Its like Disneyland for people who like meat.
So much attitude from this place. My opinion is they are hiring too many kids who can’t get simple tasks done or even smile... come on it won’t hurt.
Very nice. Great selection of choice and Prime meats. Prices are reasonable compared to local markets and their quality of products. Some are marinated if you are interested quicker preparation. Variety of Fresh sausage, vegetables and most healthful Personal.
Always smells good here. Their tri tip is good, they have a great selection of rubs and bbq sauces, plus they have a good wine and craft beer section as well.
Our family loves the Meat Market. However, we wonder why their employees are not required to wear face masks as a precaution for their customers 🤔? It was honestly very worrisome since they handle meat products. We are going to miss the Meat Market for a while. At least until this whole inconvenient situation with the virus is somewhat under control or diminishes enough to where masks are not recommended any longer.

Picked up dinner today... as usual, tri tip was amazing. But the rice and beans are beyond nasty. Cold. Rice has absolutely no flavor and the beans are gross. Just a heads up.
Great local butcher shop with vitreous and efficient staff, great selection of steaks, marinade chicken, sausage, bacon, sundry grocery items. Great place to get Traeger pellets and supplies.

My First time and didnt know their system, thought people were inpatient and unfriendly ( cashiers and shoppers). Butcher staff was great. Needed help out, couldnt get it. 😣 Ill see if quality of the meat is worth coming back.

Food very salty from the veggies to the barbecue meats. The barbecue meat tasted old and was very hard to chew. Also the chili beans were undercooked with too much black pepper. I won’t be going back to Clovis Meat Market located on Fowler/Shepherd

Oh my gosh, I was just treated soooooo rudely at The Meat Market in Clovis, Ca. I gave them 3 $100 bills for a $213 bill. A supervisor had to get change for the register and was just downright rude about it. I have been a Meat Market customer for over 30 years and have never been treated like this there or anywhere else before. There are a lot of places that I can buy meat... 🙄🥺😏
First and last visit. Worst tri tip EVER. Tough and fatty throughout. Asked for medium, was given med rare/rare. So tough that I couldnt even tear into pieces to feed our dog. Very expensive dogfood. Thank goodness we had turkey as backup for our Thanksgiving meal.
The meats here are always fresh and taste amazing. Food at the grill is REALLY good. Can never go wrong here.
Terrible, for the last 5 years! Quality and service is awful. Just took another foolish chance on them and bought marinated skirt steaks. Not marinated, unless you count sessame seeds. Completely filled with fat and very little meat!! Like everything else we have purchased there. Thank God we didn’t have company. You pay for fat, not meat. Never ever will I make the mistake again of buying there.

Service hurts the score a bit. Been coming here everytime I visit home. Dont know of anyplace else I can get quality food like this. Dont expect much from staff - had one argue that flank steak and skirt steak is the same - but if you know what you are looking for they do an okay job. Wish service was better or that they at least offered full service butcher. Cant tell you how many times Ive been told no when they have it just dont have anyone who will or knows how to butcher.
Love the meat and proces. I also buy raw bones for my dogs they have great teeth and no bad breathe even my 12 year old dog.

The sausages were amazing. The selection of local produce was refreshing. The service, not so much. Helpful once I was served but they werent very busy and my wife and I felt almost invisible at the counter.
Very unhappy at this time. Came in for our favorite marinated chicken and was told it was discontinued. Buffalo and salsa ranch was the best. Why? You could have changed one of the ranchs, but both? Sometimes its best to leave things alone!
I purchased a tri-tip meal at the Meat Market tonight as I have many times over the years. The cashier was so incredibly rude. Such a shame that an employee can ruin a business. That was my last trip there.

I really wanted to like this place, and gave it a couple of tries. But it SUCKS!!! They are consistent though. The tri tip is always dry, tough, and flavorless. Its too bad, they have such an impressive set up.

Ordered a sliced Tri Tip, medium. What I received was a fatty over cook piece of meat so tuff my dogs wouldnt eat it. Nice person at the window but TERRIBLE food.

The pre-marinated meats are great. My familys favorite is the Gilroy garlic chicken. I go there pretty much every week. The staff is friendly and they have a good selection of meats.
Always have a wide selection. Many of the staff are able to provide information about ways to cook the meat you buy as well.

Tri tip Tuesday is a joke... asked for a whole tri tip and was told that they can only slice it because a whole tri tip is over 2 lbs and that is to much to give. So you telling me a whole tri tip that is advertised is actually not a whole tri tip it’s only 2 pounds of thin sliced tri tip that drys out. Then you charge and extra $1,50 to slice the tri tip. You don’t offer whole tri tips that are advertised, but you do offer sliced tri tip that some people don’t want and you charge for it to be sliced. How is that an option. We have been buying our meat from The Meat Market for ever and we have bought the tri tip special for years as well and have not had a problem. But know with the service and the reasoning I can’t get what is offered and what our family wanted we will stop coming to the meat market. Very disappointed in this business practice.If you offer and advertise whole tri tips give what your customers want, don’t tell me that some tri tips are to big so we have to slice them. So that tells me you being cheap and your trying to cut costs and corners. What else are you doing behind the count that you customers don’t know about????

I went here for lunch on Wednesday I ordered a ribeye sandwich with grilled onions and mayonnaise my coworker ordered a Philly cheesesteak we both ordered the combo they made me A pastrami with onions and I told him that I had ordered the ribeye sandwich the guy at the counter said rudely “well we made you a pastrami”.. I told him OK but I ordered a ribeye sandwich and that’s what I would ..like six people ordered after me and had gotten their food and all six orders were incorrect as well. After seeing everybody receive their orders I went to the window and asked where is my ribeye sandwich and the guy told me we gave it to you already I said no you didn’t or I wouldn’t be at the window asking for it then all the other people whose orders were wrong started complaining and we asked for the manager someone by the name of Reyna came to the window and I explained to her what was going on and I just wanted my money back the cheesesteak that my coworker ordered had meat and cheese that’s it no bell peppers or onions like it should’ve had I told her if she wanted to make the order right just refund the entire amount and we would leave she wouldn’t do it all she was deducted the cost of the steak sandwich that I never got and charged me for the soda and rice pilaf and charged my coworker his entire meal.. by the time we were done even the other people started asking for their money back and one guy refused to eat his sandwich because he was afraid by this time somebody would spit in it so my advice is never eat at the meat market again because I promise you I won’t my coworker won’t and the other six people that were there said the same thing THE MEAT MARKET SUCKS!!!
Ok the main reason it is not excellent, last time i checked there is more meat than beef and chicken. Their pork selection is limited, and their lamb selection is non existent. Do not try to go in an ask for something like a pork should(guy will yell from the back,All we have is 9 lbs no option for trimming). They are good for their try- tip and marinated chicken...but not speciality service.
Their meat is good however I got a pork sanwhich asked for it with barbecue and hardly had any I mean I could barely even taste the barbecue there was so little, the meat was dry and not as flavorful as it is at doghouse and every other place I’ve got this. If I was rating solely off that it’d be one star.

This is the only butcher shop Ive been to that refuses to cut meat. I asked for 3 pounds of pork butt. The butcher said its 10 pounds only, and sent me to their prepackaged garbage. Have to continue looking for an actual butcher around here.

When getting there daily special sandwich tri tip and ask for barbeque check if they put any on if any,they applied on sparely for unknown reason,do they save money doing this,fresno location is even worse,go to other places westwood,mikes grill,famous dave and you will quantity,the owner should buy there own sandwiches and see if they like hows its made.

I live about 100 yards from this store, and I have never had good service the multiple times that I have shopped. Either bad food or more common, bad attitudes. The manager has rung me up multiple times and instead of setting a good example for her employees she acts like Im am inconvenience to her.

We just got married on June 20th and we had a bbq buffet at our wedding catered by the meat market. We tried a ton of different bbq places before we decided on the meat market. Their meat was a huge hit with our guests and so were the sides. People were even fighting over leftovers lol Surprised that people have had bad service from the employees since every time we have been in we have been treated fantastically and had great service. I definitely would recommend them to others and we will be absolutely be using them again.
