I bought a car from here this year. Long story short I went to shop for something to be done on my car that come to find out didnt need done. He could have taken my money and I would have not know that it wasnt needed. Instead he explained why I didnt need this yet. He may have missed out on 1 service from me but he gained my trust and respect and a new regular customer.

Ive never been treated better while purchasing a vehicle. James Sampson is very knowledgeable and an excellent salesman. We were there about 2 hrs, including test drive and financing. We purchased a 2018 Toyota Camry. I would recommend taking the drive from the Quad Cities to Clinton Iowa to check this dealership out!

I recently went car shopping at Billion Auto in Clinton, IA. It was the first and only place my brother and I went to. We had the pleasure of working with Joey Live. I bought the first car he showed us. It is a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. Great price! Right on with Blue Book value. I am very happy. Now-----I just cant wreck it!

Well we did a drive throw today to look for a good use Tahoe or Suburban and had now luck . And lets face it, the new ones are NO WAY IN HELL!!! No matter where you go, theyre over priced . The type of vehicles are family vehicles and the industry take advantage of it . And in my opinion they are not worth my hard earned money . 60 plus. Are they joking......

Service department staff are helpful and efficient. Had a seat repair done by an outside company. They used a hot glue gun, made it look worse than the original problem. The repair didnt last two weeks and it let loose. So $60.00 to repair and worse off than when I started

I was on my way there when the car I was after was sold. They showed me a more expensive one that I didnt want.A few days later a young salesman named Ryan called and said the financing fell through and the car I wanted was back. It would be a 90 minute round trip for me, so he promised to hold it for me in back until I drove there that evening. When I arrived the car had been sold. I reminded him that he promised to hold it. He said I didnt put any money down. I said he hadnt mentioned putting money down. He just repeated that I didnt put any money down. I cussed him out and left.I emailed their Customer Care Specialist and got an apology saying they would look into it, but they never got back to me. Weeks later I got an email from Ryan stating I want to provide you with our contact information to continue to provide you with top quality customer service experience. Again I emailed Customer Care. They ignored me. I bought a car at Ken Nelson in Dixon, IL instead.

We have purchased four vehicles at McEleney. Their care and maintenance has been outstanding. When the first G6 was damaged beyond repair we replaced it with a Malibu. Needing a better way to transport family we got a great trade on a pickup for a Traverse. That vehicle was rear-ended and the combined effort at Abra and the shop did a fantastic job of taking care of the vehicle and us. Our daughter needed a vehicle for college and Rich & John did a fantastic job of looking, then provided us a second G6 for her. Everyone in the dealership has been warm, friendly and taken great care of out needs.

We were referred to McEleney by friends. After several email exchanges with Drew we decided to buy from them. They offered a very competitive price and good trade-in value. At the dealership everyone who interacted with us was very cordial, knowledgable and efficient. The technicians who explained all the features of the vehicle were very helpful.This was not the most convenient dealership for us to get to from our home, but the value offered and the way the treat people would make them the first dealership I would recommend for anyone in Northwestern Illinois or Eastern Iowa. They are worth the trip.

They are shady and will try to get extra money any way possible. Keep a great eye on your paperwork for any extra charges or a raise on your interest rate. Go through everything and do not get the valpro. Its not worth it. Promise that!! They are shady and will get the sale one way or another. They seem nice but be careful!!!

I just purchased my first car from here. My experience through the whole car buying process has been amazing! Scott Stubblefield was the salesman who helped me and he got me exactly what I wanted! I told him what I wanted my monthly payments to be, overall amount I wanted to spend, and what brand of car I wanted. They had a car ready to test drive for me right away. I didnt feel rushed or anything like you do at some dealers. They really took the time to get to know me and what I was looking for in a car. I had the car for a day and the timing belt broke (something I nor the dealership could have foreseen happening). I called them right away and brought they car into them. They had it fixed within a couple hours and even gave me a loaner car in the meantime so I didnt have to sit at the dealership waiting for my car to be fixed! I recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a new vehicle! I will be going back for all of my car needs! :)

What a great business to buy your next vehicle. I use my car for my traveling sales career and I put lots of miles on in a short period of time. This means I needed low miles but still need low prices since it will be such a short time until I buy again. I started looking in December and couldnt find a business that made me feel welcome until I was driving through Clinton and saw McEleney out my window. I read a few reviews and saw lots of great compliments, so I wanted to see if they were true...BOY WERE THEY!!! I have had my vehicle for a few weeks and am so glad I stopped in to check it out. Matt Ripper welcomed me in the door and got to know me and what I needed. I felt welcome, the customer service was great, they worked with me to find exactly what I needed and helped keep my cost low, then took me through all the details of the Toyota Rav4 so I knew my way around the vehicle without having to read through the manual. This was by far my best experience purchasing a vehicle and I will gladly return to buy my next one. The personnel is top notch and I highly recommend you see for yourselves.

We used to by ALL our cars here, but they dont back their products sold. Their competitors consistently beats their trade offers and loyalty means nothing. Went their to reclaim my left over gap insurance and was told they would call me in an hour, and went back 2 hours later and was put further back in line. Imagine that, they dont have any sense of urgency when they owe you money. I dont even get my oil changed there anymore. Great selection but save yourself the trouble and buy somewhere else.

My first brand new car. 2017 Toyota rav 4. I LOVE this vehicle. I was so nervous and Ben Watts was so wonderful to me. He took the time to explain all the features and was very patient when we were test driving. I test drove 3 different kinds of Toyota rav 4s. Walked in and bought the showroom model! I added heated seats on my vehicle. The price was right and I got a 1750.00 rebate. I would recommend Ben Watts to anyone looking for a car. Also I get lifetime free car washes. If you want to waste s couple hours of your day at a dealership and say they can do a deal, that you agreed to over the phone and then say they now cant do that deal. This isnt the dealership for you! I made a deal over the phone, drove 3 hours picked up my new to me truck and was out the door in 20 mins. My husband and I were in some what of a pickle with a crappy truck that a previous dealership screwed us over with. When it comes to quality these guys deserve a 4. I drove from Wisconsin to buy my Mazda from them because they offered a better price and already had good reviews about their quality of business, and after talking to them everyday for a week, I trusted I was doing business with a great company. Now they have another good review. Steve Taplin helped me get all my ducks lined up before I drove down there... The staff was more than accommodating of my requests (and I had a lot of them). They also stood behind their work to assure me the Mazda was in good shape. I can say this is the best dealer Ive ever done business with.

My salesperson was Gary Bunce and he did a fantastic job listening to what I wanted and helping me to understand the features of the vehicle I was interested in. He also helped me understand the differences between buying and leasing. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional and had great communication skills. The car-buying process is a long one and this wonderful staff never once made me feel intimidated or rushed into making a decision. This work was routine maintenance and repair work. At the previous visit a seal leak was found and it was repaired under warranty. Had the tech not found the leak I would not have found it until it started leaking enough to show up on the garage floor, and then it would have been out of warranty. Good job catching it and fixing it within the warranty period.

I purchased a used SUV about three weeks ago everything went smoothly and like normal but just started having issues with it already and they put just over grand in parts no charge to make it right. Very pleased with this dealership many others would have charged or not have helped at all and say there was nothing wrong with it.

I hit a deer with my truck and was looking to purchase a truck soon. I m not sure if this dealership is in the market to sell cars or not. I drove and and 15 minutes to test drive a truck that was suppose to be inspected by them and when i drove it there was no heat. They told me they would get this fixed and call me. I never received a call and I called them several times and no one had any information on it. Each time I called they told me someone would call me back and no one ever did. I finally got a hold of a manger and he did have the sales person call me. When the sales person called me he told me the part never got ordered and did not ever say they were sorry for wasting my time. He just told me he would call me when it is fixed and it I had not purchased anything by then we would set something up and if I had we could just move on. If it is this hard to buy from them, getting service must be terrible.

In total, there were three individuals involved in my car buying experience. Drew McEleney, Matt Rittmer, and Jared Determan. All three of these gentlemen are class acts. They went above and beyond what I would consider to be great ustomer service. They took the time to build a foundation, to not only develop an excellent professional image, but also to create the premise for a future customer relationship. I had a very specific vehicle in mind for our next purchase. Matt went out and found that vehicle and worked with my wife and I to ensure that we were happy, not only at the time of purchase, but for years to come. When the time comes to purchase a new vehicle, the first dealership that I will contact will be McEleney. They took the time to listen to the needs of my family and did what they could to make it happen. At no point did I feel that they were trying to surprise us with any hidden fees or extras that we did not need. They were forthcoming and honest and I deeply respect that. McEleney has made a customer out of myself and my family, but more importantly, they have made us feel as if we are now part of their family.

Worst service Ive had! They supposedly changed the sway bars and said that was the only thing wrong with the vehicle, but not even a month later, I went to a different mechanic and they had to redo the whole front end of my car which cost me 1000 and the damn sway bars... Do not go here. They do not keep up their emd of the deal. Make promises they wont keep. Rolled negative loan into new car loan and for over 5 months been trying to get Billion to write the payoff for the negative loan. Then they gave my car a clean bill of health only to get a bill from toyota for excessive wear. The manager promised to take care of it and has done NOTHING. Terrible and will not be back.

The reason I continue to buy from Paul is that he leaves the pushy sales techniques at the door and instead treats his customers as friends, responsive to their needs. My husband and I have been shopping for a car for several weeks now and our research kept bringing us back to the Toyota Prius V. We recently had our first child and needed the extra room for all his things and for my husbands golf clubs. After selecting the car we wanted, our next task was to find the right dealership to work with. We searched online to find the best possible deal and came across a new 2012 at McEleney Toyota that was priced aggressively. After reading several reviews online we contacted the dealership and in no time at all agreed on a deal. We made the nearly 3 hour drive with our 2 month old son from Chicago to Clinton, Iowa to complete the deal.The transaction was flawless - everything was as promised without gimmick or trick - and the paperwork was completed quickly and efficiently. While we live too far away to service with McEleneys we will certainly be back to replace our other vehicle in the near future. If we could give Billion 10 stars we would. We were looking to purchase a new vehicle that we would be able to tow behind our new R.V. After going to a dealership in DeWitt we decided to look at Billion before we made our final purchase. Billion gave us a considerable amount more for our trade, plus discounted the newer one more. Both at DeWitt and at Billion we were told the new vehicle we had decided on would be able to be towed. However after having the tow equipment installed on the vehicle at the R.V. dealership a question was brought up about the motor size and if it really was towable. We went back to Billion where Chad (the sales manager) stayed for 2 hours after closing time Friday night and came back in early Saturday morning to complete needed research. He told us that unfortunately the car we purchased could not be towed without hurting the motor. He stressed they would do what it took to remedy the situation. He also took full responsibility for the error when it was not all his fault. Between DeWitt and Clinton probably 6 different guys looked it up, myself included. The information online, and in the manual was misleading. Billion fully refunded us on the original purchase even thought we had put over 500 miles on the vehicle. They then went as far as to discount a brand new (towable) 2017 model as if it were a 2016. Chad also contacted the R.V. dealership and paid to have the equipment removed from the 2016 and installed on the 2017.We were very happy with Billion with the original purchase, but then after the problems, and the way they handled the solution we were over the top HAPPY. They SERIOUSLY stepped up. We will use them for any future purchases.

We purchased a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban from McEleney Chevrolet-Buick-GMC-Toyota, located at 2421 Lincoln Way, Clinton, Iowa on February 5, 2016. We purchased the vehicle sight unseen based on an internet listing and after several telephone conversations with sales staff. This vehicle was sold with a 30-day warranty and when delivered to us in Stokesdale, NC, it had 81,230 miles. Although the sale closed on February 5, 2016, it was not delivered to us until February 20, 2016.This vehicle was taken to our local Chevrolet dealership on March 26, 2016 and on that date, they added 3 pounds of A/C coolant at a cost of $137.00 to us. The vehicle had been in Morgantown, WV where our son attends college and obviously, there was no need to run the A/C in February and March in Morgantown, WV. We called the McEleney dealership, expressing our concern about having to add 3 pounds of coolant, an obvious sign that the A/C had not been properly serviced or inspected prior to the sale. We called Rich Pladna and learned that he was no longer there. Another message was left for the Used Car General Manager, describing our dissatisfaction about being told that “the vehicle had been serviced and inspected prior to the sale.” No one from McEleney Chevrolet returned our phone calls. At this time, the vehicle had 84,549 miles.On July 19, 2016, we noticed that the A/C was blowing only hot air. Parks Chevrolet (Kernersville, NC) did an inspection and we were informed that a total of $1900 service was required to repair the A/C. A copy of this inspection is also included. Specifically, Park Chevrolet indicated the following: “Diagnosed and AC dye all over compressor and condenser – found metal debri in system – need to replace AC compressor, condenser, dryer, and orphice tue 0 also need to flush system thoroughly once apart – est. give of $1900.”During a telephone call to McEleney Chevloret, we again expressed our dissatisfaction. A Mr. Drew McEleney stated his position that the vehicle was outside of the warranty period (ignoring our concern that it was not properly inspected prior to the sale, as evidenced by 3 pounds of coolant having to be added in March) and that he had “no way of knowing if we had abused the vehicle.” Our view that this was “BS” and a ploy to avoid their responsibility resulted in Mr. McEleney hanging up the phone and terminating the call.It is clear that McEleney Chevrolet is more interested in sales than in customer service or satisfaction or in being responsible for adequately inspecting vehicles before selling them. Let other buyers in the Clinton Iowa area beware. We plan to make the Better Business Bureau aware of our circumstance and will also write a letter to the Editor of the local newspaper. In today’s world, we are happy to let others know that ignoring basic rights of customers involving deceptive business practices and a lack of interest in understanding our concerns will not go unnoticed.
