This place is truly a hidden gem! Located in Ohio City. Rickey provided great customer service he is very knowledgeable about the various countries and products they offer! Prices are super cheap and products are fresh! The store is well organized and clean! If you need ingredients for authentic Latin & African food this is the store!

An international cultural experience close to home! Owner is Puerto Rican and excellent businessman! Very full and narrow aisles but probably no place closeby that has this level of international foods selection. Plus, it’s organized by country. It’s an experience! Recommended.

La Borincana its a nice place to go shopping for Jamaican foods like bun and cheese ackee and saltfish most likely any Jamaican product you can find it there everybody there is nice love to shop thereespecially on Easter time for the bun and cheese

Tip: $15 minimum if using credit card.first time going and there is so much stuff cant wait to go back!

I have visited this store many times over the years. The owner and staff are always super helpful and kind. They have not just Latin American foods but also African foods too. If you cant find something, just ask. Theyre very helpful.

Owner insulted us...I asked if he sells breadfruit and the owner said, breadfruit is only for my regular customers. You never tell people thats spending their hard earned cash, your product is for special people..We were frequent shoppers there..nothing less than $100.00 each trip...havent been back since..

The people are so friendly. I dont live in Cleveland and have only been there a couple of times but my family has been going there for years. They always remember us and are a good source if you want to know about cultural social events in the area. Price is good too.

I’ve given this place so many chances. They never open on time. It’s 10:20 am and all employees here except whoever opens the door. Take the time to update your hours if you can’t be open by the hours you post. Simple

Today 7/2/20 I went to this store to buy some spanish roots and other items. I was encountered by gentleman, think he was the butcher, he had the coat on. He told me that my 11yo that was wearing a mask, was not able to go inside the store, due to the COVID-19. I told him that was so ridicoulus, we can go to Walmart, Giant Eagle other supermarkets and no problems. I told him that he was loosing my sale and left. He abrubtly shut the door on my face. Lost My business forever. BOYCOTT LA BORINCANA!!!

Very great place to shop. Went there for the first time and they were very nice with me and very welcoming. Im going to start shopping there from now on. I just love these people and no matter what race or color you are they welcome everybody

Outstanding International food store with great Service and employees!

I enjoy visiting this store but they need to have their hours of business posted or there should be a prompt on the phone when you call that gives you the business hours and address. Just a suggestion. I went there today expecting to be able to purchase something to cook today. I sat there until I decided to leave. I called, no answer. No hours of business posted. Apart from this I absolutely love this store. They are familiar with me as I am with them.

If you are looking for exotic foods from other countries this is a good place to go. 24 countries are represented there. Central and South America, Caribbean, Africa. Etc. We needed banana leaves and we found them!

Nice little store for import food

You get used to the place once you go there a lot, the people are nice and make you laugh youll find food from Argentina to Jamaica. Its like your neighborhood family market its pretty cool

The best Latino variety in the area, you just have look beyond a few things that are culturally different, like chicken in a bucket of water. Seriously my in laws are weird with food storage too and I have just learned to not judge it and when in doubt, dont eat it.

They had everything Spanish. Which is great in one location. However, must spend $15.00+ in order to use debit or credit card. Good customer service.

Plenty of Hispanic and African goods. This is the place to discover them. I liked the products I ordinarily cant find elewhere. My favorites are the hot sauces and coffee.

This a non descript looking place on the outside, unless you really dont pay attention you can miss it, no signs on building, but inside its tight but the variety is absolutely outstanding, the place is alot of small aisles loaded with things you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else, the exotic smells in this place reminds me of afro-caribbean markets in New York, there is so much to see that its like a museum, everything catches your eyes, they pack ALOT into a small space, it is very authentic, unless your not into food from Africa, South America, Central America, or Asia you would be a little lost in here, you really have to be into these types of food to navigate this place, it is a learning experience, you will be saying OMG alot of times in La Borincana😀😁🥰

Best place for Caribbean food items. I found my Grandma her Dominican oregano here, because thats the ONLY KIND she would cook with.

This is a great place for African food just wish the place didnt smell.

They have a range of products from Latin America that would appeal to people from around the world, such as salted fish, Columbian cheese, and many Goya products... however, and, unfortunately, they did not have all the ingredients we needed to make Puerto Rican sofrito, which is kind of like the trinity of Cajun cooking (onions, bell peppers, and celery), only with more ingredients: garlic, parsley, and other items, and serves the same purpose: providing the flavor basis for meats, soups, and sauces. If they succeeded in that regard, they would have earned an additional star from me. I would also like for them to place a zap light near the doorway, as flies were prevalent. It is not a good look for a grocery store, but some of the items such as the dried fish, and salted fish attracts them.

The owner is such a liar and is very disrespectful and likes to hang up the phone on people when you call over there to see if he sells certain products and he wont sell Tabaco hilado from Puerto Rico or candy from Puerto Rico youre better off going to Tonys market because they know how to respect Puerto Rican people and all other countries and they sell candy from Puerto Rico

This little store has so much packed into its tiny space. The people are always really helpful and the music makes me feel like Ive stepped back into the Caribbean even in the dead of winter.
