One of the best coffees I’ve had! I wish I was local to Cleveland to make this my go-to coffee shop. They have a great selection and amazing syrups to add to your coffee. They even make their vanilla flavoring in-house — so so good! The staff was also so kind and helpful. I’ll be sure to stop in next time I’m in town!

I love their lattes (both plain and vanilla) and you have to try their cinnamon bun muffin...mannnnn. My new go to spot in downtown Cleve :)))))

I enjoyed a yummy iced coffee and a bagel from a local bakery before a work meeting downtown. My only suggestion would be to up the cream cheese game - I was a little disappointed to get a Philadelphia cream cheese cup with such a tasty fresh bagel! Will be back.

Phoenix Coffee has a special place in my heart. When they used to be in a different building than where they are now in Coventry, years ago my (now) fiance and I visited there for our first date. He knew how much I loved coffee and made sure that we stopped there after our dinner in Little Italy. It was my first time there and it blew me away! Ever since then we have visited there frequently to work and relax. Everything they offer is fantastic! I absolutely love their cortados and pastries they serve. The staff is always friendly and each one of their shops offers a unique vibe thats easy to work and visit with friends in. Highly recommend!

It was a Monday morning, and there wasnt an overwhelming line so if youre looking to get your coffee or breakfast pastry quick, it may be a good idea to stop in here.

Quaint little coffee shop, not your chain variety, offering very good quality coffees, espressos, teas and coffee drinks. Best in the downtown area, despite the competition coffee shops that are a bloc or more away. Trust me, I know coffees, I used to own a coffee shop in the past. Enjoy it anytime youre downtown Phoenix. This place is just right for me. Local vibe, fun art, great egg panini and iced mocha, good music but not too loud, and fast wifi.

Negative experience. Was made to feel very unwelcome by the two young women working the counter. It was very surprising. Left without making a purchase and let my local host know. Will not return.I hope the owner can check the shift schedule, see who was working AM 5/2/19, and have a chat with them about being welcoming and kind.

The guys that work here are really funny and they always make me smile in the morning. We had just arrived in from an over night train and it was raining. We wanted to get something to eat and coffee while we waited for our rental car. Granted we arrived at the coffee shop about 15 early, we were 2 patrons waiting right outside the door in the rain with luggage. The 2 girls inside simply just kept talking and drinking coffee while looking right at us. We waited till a few minutes of opening time and we left. I feel that was completely rude and horrible customer service!

Considering how often I visit Phoenix Coffee, I feel that it would be an injustice not to give a review. The shop is easily accessible, lying slightly diagonal from the intersection of Walnut and 9th street. Despite its prominent position right in the heart of downtown, my inner hipster was instantly appealed to from the moment I started becoming a patron. The interior felt rustic and earthy. Furnishing felt second-hand (in a good way) and the tiny, potted plants lining the walls made it feel homely. The most notable element that caught my attention is how friendly and personable the staff was/is, which for me goes a long way. Obviously, since I stated that I’m a regular, they and I have built a rapport over time, but they have consistently displayed an eagerness for friendly, open conversation with everyone who enters, day in and day out. Now, let’s discuss product. I’ll let it be known that I am typically a very simple man when it comes to coffee. That is to say, black: no sugar, definitely no cream. This is what I order 99.9% of the time at any coffee establishment. With that said, even I can find the drip coffee here a bit on the strong side. When I first started visiting Phoenix, it didn’t seem that strong. Either the water to coffee grounds ratio has changed, or my taste buds have. As it stands right now, the bitterness is almost overwhelming at times, and I rarely finish an entire medium-sized dose of kick-in-the-face coffee as it stands right now. If you’re a fellow “purist”, proceed with caution, as even the heartiest will be tested. It should be stated that there is also a manual pour option, but I have yet to sample it.Outside of the standard fare, there is a host of espresso, mixed espresso drinks, and tea options available. Tastes range from mocha lovers (recommend the Speedball) to the lighter side. Seasonal blends are available as well, and if you are visiting during the summer months, I highly recommend the Iced Coconut Water Latte. It is most certainly one of my favorites. A host of bottled juices and water, as well as Phoenix merchandise and take-home coffee beans are available for purchase. As is common with coffee bars, a wealth of pastries and bagels are available, and though this is not typically my area of expertise, I highly recommend the Peanut Butter and Jelly cookie. High in sugar and a guilty conscience, you’ll love every bite. I swear.Between the low cost (by comparison to competitors in the surrounding area), friendly staff, and laid-back atmosphere, this is the perfect location for a wealth of occasions. Whether it is for business, hanging out with friends, sight-seeing, or simply grabbing a hot cop of Joe, I’m sure you’ll find a new favorite at Phoenix Coffee.
