Theres something about the layout, when you first enter, that seems odd. I wish the counters were more open and it is hard to read the menu on the walls. The food and the people are wonderfully welcoming though and we love to go here now. Everything we have tried so far is good to great and the prices are also good. Edwins is a Cleveland institution now and its great to see everyone drop by here.

Foods good, it’s just so darn slow! Can wait 5-10 minutes just for someone to walk through the room and notice you’re there. And then a simple sandwich can take 15-20 minutes. I’m talking chicken salad that’s already made in the fridge. It only needs put on a bun.Get the service speed squared away and they’ll be doing great.

Food was absolutely incredible.Ordered the half rack meal and an Italian sub.The ribs were delicious, perfectly seasoned and fell right off the bone. Mashed potatoes were buttery and garlicky. The Italian sub was on a whole different level. Each meat was cooked before the sub was assembled, bread and topping were awesome and fresh.Overall, absolutely excellent and will be ordering again. (:Also doubles as a Butcher shop where you can purchase fresh meat. Prices are a little less expensive than Giant Eagle, and way better quality.

We are thrilled to have this shop close by. Our standing rib roast for Christmas was beautiful. Perfectly seasoned and cut, it roasted up quite lovely for us. We also enjoyed some lunch when we picked up. Pastrami on rye and some Mac and cheese. We have taken home soup twice from here as well. Great addition to the neighborhood.

Good butchers are hard to find at the best of times. So much of our food is restricted to whats available in a supermarket. Edwins not only runs counter to the trend, but did so in an underserved community. And they do so while carefully balancing the menu to cater to theyre Cleveland neighbors and those with more disposable income next door in Shaker. The meat had been excellent. The service is wonderful, with thoughtful advice always available. I havent yet tried the prepared food, but if its anything like that from the butcher and the restaurant, its going to be great too.If you havent yet visited Edwins, please place it high on your to-do list. You wont be disappointed.

This is a nice place. For the most part the prices are reasonable for the hot food. There are a few tables and chairs in case you dont want to eat and run, thats nice. The cuts of meat are a little pricey depending on what cuts you order. It has become one of the places I like to frequent.

I thought the cashier and the butcher that helped me were great. However, for this to be a butcher shop, there was very little meattin the meat case. So if I wanted to buy some other kind of meat I wouldnt know what they were selling other than chicken - which I did buy. The atmosphere was not welcoming. I really wanted to support this new urban butcher shop, but I want to see what they are selling. As a foodie, I do appreciate their locally sourced gourmet products and they are reasonably price. I love a good shoping atmosphere. I think theyre still getting their identity as a urban butcher shop on Buckeye. I will be going back. Im sure it will be better.

Excellent service, value and products. This is a valuable addition to the Heights. I would come from anywhere on the east side to stock my larder and fridge. A shop like this could easily charge double or more for what they sell, but their mission is to serve us honestly, so given that plus their awesome cause to build people and give them a future, I think you should beat a path here!

Tried them for dinner. The best part: The coleslaw was some of the best Ive had in Cleveland. The worst: the fried chicken was cooked perfectly but was severely under-seasoned. The meat should have been prepped with either a dry or wet brine, and the breading could have used more seasoning. it was moist, tender, crispy, not greasy at all, but very bland. Even then, I look forward to trying other items on their menu and Im eager to buy some meat from them. I hope I can update this review to 5 stars soon!

We went in curious about their charcuterie. Brandon himself gave us a great explanation of all of the options. While having trouble deciding, he offered to create a sampling platter. He took lots of time and effort and put together a sampler for us to try. All of it was delicious, especially their own charcuterie. The rest of the staff was also great, courteous, and most of all, friendly. We will definitely be going back and using their charcuterie in the future.

Content://media/external/file/31980Edwins Butcher Shop is a 5star order to go and dine-in shop. In purchasing my steak for dinner preparations I had receive a fresh cut, Ohio grown, Beef. Yes, I said Ohio grown. After being seasoned, seared, and garneshed with fresh herb by none other than I, the juicy well cooked steak was a delight to me and my dinner date. I would highly recomend the eatery and butcher shop to anyone from or visiting the Cleveland area.

I have shopped at Edwin’s Butcher Shop three times. I tried them about two-weeks after opening and ordering was prompt and courteous and the food quality excellent. I then made another purchase of raw chicken for my mother who said that the chicken was fresh, clean, and cooked perfectly. On my third trip the Saturday prior to St. Patrick’s Day, I went in to order cooked corn beef for my Mother and Aunt. There were several people eating at tables and only one person ahead of me in line at their meat counter. There was a single associate helping the customer before me and while I observed a flurry of activity amid employees working in the rear of the shop, I stood there for close to 10 minutes before—who I assume was the manager—asked an associate to help me. I asked for cooked, sliced, corn beef in two half pound packages. Once I ordered, another associate stopped to serve me and I told them that I was taken care of. I then waited a bit longer and could not tell who, or how the order was being packaged, but I did speak to the young women who took my order and she confirmed the two half pound packages of “sliced,” cooked, corn beef. My mother and aunt also wanted dill pickles and I asked for two from their pickle jar, but was told that they were $2.50 each and that the pre-packaged container I had taken from a refrigerator case were a better deal for $4 for six large pickles. It’s true that the manager told me that he would open a container and sell me two pickles, but I did not pursue it. I purchased the container of pickles and the corned beef and the cashier asked if I needed bread or mustard and I told her that I did not. I dropped the food off to my mother and aunt. I spoke with my mother later and she informed me that when she opened one of the packages of corned beef, it was not sliced and was just three thick pieces that she said could not be used for a conventional sandwich. I was sorry about this and faulted myself for not checking. I also thought about calling Edwin’s, but realized that I had not been given a receipt. I like the store, but this experience was a bit disappointing and in retrospect, I think that I should have ordered corned beef for my mother and aunt from Mr. Brisket since that is their specialty and it is where I have purchased corned beef for my aunt and mother in the past. Perhaps, the sitauation at Edwin’s Butcher Shop can be attributed to new business growing pains, but from my observation, a better ordering system needs to be implemented and closer attention paid to what is ordered, i.e., sliced corned beef versus chunks.Update, I spoke with my Mother and Aunt and they were not pleased with the corned beef overall. I was sorry to hear this since I had suggested that they get corned beef from Edwin’s.

Just visited for first time with my sons. I really wanted to love it and there were good points, e.g. fries and BLT were excellent, decor/location is good, however there are a few issues and it just isnt there yet. 1) Pricing scheme is very uneven, for instance pickles are weirdly overpriced at $2.50 while fries are only $1. 2) Reuben is most expensive sandwich by a good margin. We ordered two. They were well done except nowhere near enough corned beef. That is a pretty major issue and odd given corned beef is quite cheap to buy there at $10 a pound. Mr Brisket does a much better Reuben, maybe over generous on corned beef. Slymans obviously goes way over the top. But how can Edwins think it is ok to give only a few slices of corned beef in the same city that boasts Slymans?!? 3) As we went to leave, we ordered some bacon and ribs (with no sides) to take home. We were left standing near counter for 20 minutes to get them, for no good reason (wrapping precooked ribs in foil takes no time) and with no-one, even Brandon who was around, being remotely proactive to finish serving us. When finally the ribs were given to us, the server forgot to give me the bacon that had been sitting for ages - I had to remind her. It ruined the experience for me that they not only took far longer than necessary or justified, but didnt seem to care even though they were not very busy and they could see us standing there. They could at least have said it would be a while so we could sit down!
