Detroit Auto Clinic is the only mechanic I have gone to since moving to Cleveland and I am impressed each time. Not only is the location very convenient with working downtown, but Josh is always so kind, honest, communicative and completes the repairs very quickly for a very good price. I highly recommend Detroit Auto Clinic and wont be going anywhere else as long as Im in the area.

After the dealership recommended repairs totaling more than the value of the car, I brought my mother-in-laws car here. They not only did the necessary repairs quickly (same day turnaround for complete exhaust replacement) and for far less, they also showed that the dealership had blatantly lied with some of their recommendations. Will definitely be back when we need more work done.

Very fair pricing.(I thought)Edit: Car was brought in for air conditioning.Had it recently recharged somewhere else and it didnt last.Told Detroit there was a leak in the system somewhere.They checked, couldnt find the leak.Recharged the system, added a dye.Charged $80.Guaranteed it for a year.Brought it back in a few weeks, same issue.Was told that they found the leak, and the hose is discontinued.So am out $80 with no AC.If they couldve found the hose the first time I brought it in, and told me it was discontinued....Id still have no AC...but Id have my $80.In short it cost me almost $100 for them to tell me they couldnt fix what I brought it in for.Earth. Gotta love it.

Josh was very communicative and knowledgeable. He was up front with his prices and did not push for extra costs. I had not had the funds for my o2 sensor repair so he let me know the urgency of getting them replaced and what to expect. A much better experience that the Firestone I was previously going to where they added on costs and took a long time without addressing anything. I’ll be coming back!

First time going here and it was a great experience. Josh was the man. Fixed my exhaust and did an oil change for a great price, but more importantly, he noticed a future muffler issue I was going to face and since the muffler was back ordered by six weeks, he ordered it on his own dime just so it’s in stock if I ever needed it. I had never gotten my car serviced in Cleveland before so I looked online and found the Detroit Auto Clinic. I called Josh and was able to bring my car in the next day. I was having some issues with my car shaking, so I suspected that it was bad brakes but was unsure. I asked Josh if he could do a full check up on my car. I got a really nice breakdown, including pictures and videos, that listed everything in need of maintenance. The outcome was that my suspension parts and brakes needed replacement. Josh is a very professional and knowledgeable mechanic. I think he did a really great job on my car and it’s running smoother than it has in the last 6months! I would recommend this auto clinic to any friends and family in the area! If anything ever happens to my car again, I know that I would take it there!

I had AAA tow my car here as one of my brake lines had rotted and my brakes did not work at all, scary! It turns out all 9 of my brake lines needed to be replaced. They got the job done quickly and my car is good as new! I highly recommend this mechanic.

I have been taking my cars to Gilbert and Josh for almost 8 years. Their service and most of all their repair prices are incredible. I save almost half of what the dealer charges. This is a no frills place in the greatest sense. I usually Uber over to Gypsy Coffee at 65th and Detroit or my fav place, Brewnuts to wait. Cost of Ubering doesn’t matter because Detroit’s prices are so incredibly low. No loaner cars. Then they just call or text me when car is ready and I Uber back and marvel at how much less they are than the Dealer or other shops! Thanks, guys!!!

Its a good sign when the mechanic drives the same car as you! Took my 1989 Volvo 240 here a few weeks ago because of a pretty bad vibration at highway speeds. Josh and Gilbert were super quick with a diagnosis and fix and I had my car back the next day. They were friendly, easy to talk to, and were super helpful with advice on repairs I was doing myself and pointed me towards some rad community resources for parts and help. Absolutely going here again next time I touch something I shouldnt on the car and need help from people who actually know what theyre doing.

Iv been having a difficult time with my heat in my car this year. After taking it to a mechanic closer to me, I was quoted about 1200$ to get it all working. Replacing things that didn’t need to be replaced. So instead I called around and found this place. Josh was great. He found exactly what was wrong with my heat, fixed it for basically nothing and walked me through every step, and telling me the price point the whole way. I felt like he was honest with me, and wasn’t trying to get me to spend more money than needed. He was honest with what was the issue on my car instead of throwing his hands up in the air and saying “let’s replace everything!”. He saved me a lot of money and I was grateful for all his help!

They only did about half the services requested, air conditioner is still working sporadically, and no indication of whether they checked my brakes. Wind shield fluid dispensers still clogged. save the time and go somewhere else.

A few years ago (I think 2017), my car was needing to be jumped every time to start. I took it to a place that said I needed a new transmission that would cost 1k+. I took it somewhere else to get a 2nd opinion and they said the same thing. Luckily, my friend with a dad who teaches auto tech advised me to get a 3rd opinion, so I went to Detroit Auto Clinic. They told me all I needed was a new battery, which ended up saving me over $500. Car has worked fine ever since, which Im so grateful for because I dont know how I would have been able to afford a new transmission back then! Also, at that time, they had a female mechanic who was the one who ended up giving me the less expensive diagnosis--I thought it was super cool to see female mechanic representation! Idk if she still works there, but I hope so! Now, 4 years later, I am planning to come back here in the spring to repair my A/C :)

I found this place because of a google review a year is so back. Very friendly, affordable but also honest!! They diagnose your car and call you with details before they work on things. One of the first things I was impressed about; (before COVID) they drove in the car with me to hear the sound before they looked under the hood. Something super old school that mattered to me. The reviews dont reflect this business. Its dishonest business. Took a 4runner into a Toyota dealership and got a list of parts that were worn out and needed to be replaced along with some fluids. Took it to Detroit auto clinic for inspection and they said nothing was wrong and just took the inspection money. Just another poorly ran low end mechanic shop.

I got my transmission cooler lines replaced. We found out thats not where the leak was coming frim he replaced the condenser and voila! Problem fixed. He also took the liberty to do an oil change and replaced a bad headlight free of charge. Go to detroit auto clinic!!!

I wont take my car to the generic big name shops anymore after discovering Detroit Auto Clinic, simply due to the honesty of the workers and they are upfront with you on what you actually need rather then most places try to upsell you on everything. The owner once sat in my car with me to see what was wrong with my E-brake, and free of charge he resolved the problem that same day. Genuine honesty is why I keep coming back.Would highly recommend
