I live in Tampa and head to Clearwater just to deal with Paul at 5 star because the guy is just amazing and very knowledgable. I love dealing with a business that doesnt rush you out the door.Just for the way Paul treated me and took his time to explain everything I just spent a few thousand dollars on audio with him for my truck and new Yamaha jetboat.Highly recommend dealing with these guys. The name says it all! After two days of watching their YouTube videos I decided to go to their store. The gentleman at the counter was very helpful and informative! Within a few minutes he was able to diagnose the issue with my set up and I left with working equipment.

Hands down the very best stereo shop I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with! They can design a great system on any reasonable budget, using a wide variety of brands (keep in mind that there are some key options, like sound deadening, you’d be better off not skimping on if you have the funds; the recommendations will ultimately make the cost a little higher, but are DEFINITELY worth it for the hardcore and knowledgeable car audio aficionado)! They are willing to listen and educate like no other place I’ve ever been. This allows them to deliver the very best available, based on your budget and it’s all done with great pride, attention to detail and care! I just drove 4hrs on a road trip and I have to say it was great to listen to some amazing sounding music. A huge TY to Paul for suggesting some awesome components that definitely complement each other. Crystal clear sound with tons of power and bass. My Hat off to Dean & Fernando for their meticulous attention to detail with the installation, tuning (outstanding) and final quality of sound is superb. You guys hit it out of the ballpark. For a usually very picky person that I am with details, there was nothing to pick at. Everything was installed with such care and precision. Every video you see on YouTube with the amazing work that these guys do is exactly what you get no corners are cut here. Its a shame everything gets covered up when the seats are flipped to normal position it’s actually pretty to look at.Loving it, thanks again for your expertise and really caring about what you are doing and it shows. I was looking for a radio and sub upgrade without going overkill, Paul made excellent suggestions and really brought my vision for the truck to life. Five Star Car Stereo Rocks!!!On 07/25/2020 they installed a Kenwood DMX706S in my daughters 2003 Toyota Camry XLE.Its perfect for her. Apple CarPlay is keeping her safe with its voice command and control.She loves the ability to change the colors, even create your own color.I shot a quick demo of Bluetooth music streaming which sounded awesome!Plugged into the new USB port they put in...sound quality is another level.The mic was meticulously placed near the rearview mirror. After calling several people the final verdict on sound quality was...You sound amazing are you sure youre in the car?I am looking forward to them installing a custom system in my C4 Corvette.Im sure Five Star Car Stereo will hit it out of the park!-Tommy Lentsch

Truly 5 star car stereo. The service is quick and polite with staff that are willing to help over the phone, and in person. The shop is full to the ceiling with visible products, and when asked, staff will open a box to allow the customer to inspect products. All communication is clear, and the staff exercise patience. Although I cant account for the installation quality, if the knowledge the staff has shown to posses translates into their builds, I trust the process at 5 Star Car Stereo to deliver a 5 star finish.

I came in one day with no warning and asked them if they could instal a Rockford p500-12p, at the time I didn’t know what I was getting into. An amazing subwoofer with an amazing install job. Stinger wire and a protective sleeve all the way with a protected stinger fuse, wires tucked wonderfully, and the subwoofer tune is amazing. If you want quality installs and components this is the place to go.

Had a new deck + door speakers put in my F350. The attention to detail/ quality of the install was exceptional.

Terrible phone support. Called to resolve an issue and they wouldnt stay on the phone. Said they had to help other people first then they just hang up on me. Dont know how they call this Five Star Car Stero. If its in the name it should be. Just call Crutchfield instead if you need help with anything.

I shopped around for a few weeks, thought about having my husband install a touch screen in my 2005 Lincoln LS, and priced many units. After speaking with Paul, I went back to my car, told my husband and my dad, they both said go on and let him do it. I went back in, paid the deposit, Paul had a no show so he had mine installed within two hours! VERY neat and precise work!! I am one happy momma! Highly recommend!

This place is top notch. Just had a stereo and back up camera installed. Talk about attention to detail? Perfect install, USB interface mounted in car trim, flush mounted. Anyone else would have just hung a loose cable out the back of unit!Not to mention, every piece needed for my install (VW EOS), these guys had in stock! All others said, we will need to get some of these parts.No hesitation at all with recommending Five Star Audio, to anyone wanting a premium system with premium install.

These guys are masters in the business. The owner will try to work with you for the best price possible but lets remember: This is a brick and mortar store, not some e-tailer (who quite probably isnt an authorized dealer and who will be nowhere to be found should a warranty issue come up) and the man has overhead. He stands behind his products and service.The installers are extremely talented. One look at the quality of their installs and you KNOW they take pride in their work. Not only that, but they give of their own time to help educate we amateur installers and make US better.If any of my local shops were as capable as these guys I wouldnt be doing my own work. If I lived within even a days drive THESE GUYS would be getting my install work--at whatever the cost. Wanted a full replacement of the factory system in my Lexus convertible. They delivered a perfect install of high end components, sub, and amp. Everything is fabricated and installed beautifully. I visited this store very skeptical on product and prices. To my surprise, Mr. Paul was very patient and knowledgeable on everything in the store. Not being pushy or neither slam you with what they want you to buy like other places I visited. Forget online!!!! Prices are better than anyone is a local business with remarkable customer service!!! The technicians are awesome people that will answer all your questions and best of all EXPERTS in the field. I got the Kenwood Excelon DDX9903s with the iDatalink maestro and the other stuff required to do a very clean and awesome install on my Jeep Wrangler 2015. It retained the steering wheel controls and uconnect from factory. Not to mention the Kenwood is Awesome!!!Dont be afraid and stop here, dont waste your time anywhere else you wont be scammed or overpriced.But remember... this is a business and not a charity!

I came to five star on a recommendation of a family member. They installed my car audio equipment, it was a big job and it was done in one day. They kept my requests in mind and provided sound advice. Super clean install, a little pricey but you get what you pay for. They are true to their name.

I was having trouble getting the sound right on the new radio/CD player I recently purchased. Went back and the corrected the system so now it sounds great. Nice people.

I recently had 5 Star Car Stereo replace all the factory JBL speakers & sub add new amps & Roadkill in the doors of my 2018 Tundra. These guys are the best! Dean, Fernando and Paul are the most knowledgeable car audio guys out there. The full Audison HD install by them was top quality, they made it simple for me and things were done in a timely manner.Simply put, they are the best installers and they have excellent relationships with direct access to the top manufacturers to solve any install challenge.

As with most things, you get what you pay for. If you want your stuff done once and done right, this is your place. Five Star is 3 people, Paul is in the retail store and Dean & Fernando are in the bay. When you call Paul, if he sounds, he is busy, in between the phone and customers in the store, they are busier than you think. I suggest calling rather than emailing for a faster response. Also, check out their social media stuff. They have content on YouTube, IG, and FB. If you want to get in touch with Dean or Nando, the IG, FB, or you tube live shows are best forums for Q&A. Paul gave me a good deal on my equipment and D&F killed the install. The whole experience was worth the 1500 mile round trip.

They go out of their way to show some of their installs on YouTube. I see quality work in every video. The installers are extremely knowledgeable and really take mobile electronics serious. They actually take time to determine your needs and come up with a gameplan to follow to ensure that you get what you pay for. 5 stars!!!

My first visit to see the guys and was not let down. Paul was very happy to answer my questions on a product I did not even purchase from. From reading some of the few comments on here as a business owner myself, nobody can compete with online prices period!! Us little guys are being strangled by huge retailers or the manufacturer themselves. If you want to support your local towns and honest businesses like these guys pay a little extra because Walmart and Best buy wont be taking a second to show you how to use or do anything and good luck when they start closing like Sears.

We have been Using Five Star for over 4 years now. Our Pathfinder is full of Rockford Fosgate speakers, subs and amps. The service is great and the installation is outstanding. We can still use our factory DVD and steering wheel controls. All of the amps and the stinger battery are hidden and out of the way. They put in quick connections for our subs so I can easily take the out when I need extra space. I would recommended them to anyone especially if you have been disappointed before by shoddy car audio shops. Top quality parts, service, and installation at a fair price. Do yourself a favor and dont cheap out. Buy quality and experience satisfaction.

After watching a bunch of their videos and asking questions on the live video shows they do and give great advice. I stopped by the store and Dean spent about 30-40 minutes with me asking what kind of music I listen too and what I wanted. He took the time to explain everything to me.Im just adding a sub at this time and prepping for future installs and upgrades.All you have to do is watch the videos and it clearly shows they love what they do and do what they love.The wire management they do on installs is insane.BTW I live over an hour away and it is so worth time and drive to have have the install done right! OTHER shops near me that claimed to be best but when taking look at the job that was done, it was a total hack job with wires cut, factory molded plug cut and removed and no harness installed. This place is by far the most honest and best deals in the bay area for car audio! I call almost every reputable audio place and the one thing they all have in common is they are all rip offs. These guys absolutely go beyond the call of duty on each and every job they do. They set realistic expectations and would treat a Ford Pinto with as much respect as they would a Lamborghini. I took my 93 Corvette to them to fix the install of stereo, sub woofer, speakers, and alarm system that a shop on Keene and Drew installed.They had to completely rewire everything! They did a great job and use quality merchandise. VERY refreshing to be able to speak with someone (Dean) on a technical level about a product they dont even sell! One 10 minute phone conversation with this place did better than days of internet searching and trial and error!! I took my mini van to 5 Star. My requirements were detailed on what I wanted. They were very friendly and professional and gave me an estimate to install a roof mounted DVD player that beat the competition by a couple hundred dollars.When I dropped off the van for the work, they completed it in the expected amount of time and did the work exactly as I had specified. They also charged me nearly twenty dollars LESS than their original estimate! I would definitely use them again!

They are very good at what they do.... But I asked for a dsp, 3 amps, and a 2 sets of door speakers to be installed. They quoted $2100 [WTF]. Your good but not that good

Five Star Car Stereo did an excellent job on my install, I love the quality, professionalism of the installers and the way they hide everything, so if you didn’t know where and what was installed you would think it was a factory install until you had a chance to listen to it and be blown away by the new sound, it makes you fall in love with music all over again, well at least that’s what it did for me. And now it’s time for me to get a few upgrades so FIVE STAR HERE I COME .

Dean and Fernando are stereo scientists! They go the extra 10 miles and do very thorough work. I would not trust anyone else to work on my stereo. Very knowledgeable. 5 Stars for sure. The quality of their work speaks for itself. Willing to help people half way around the world with a barrage of technical questions even though they will not be selling that person anything. If you are a car audio fanatic, their YouTube, Facebook and Podcast shows are definitely something to see and listen to.

Long story short, I dropped my car off for my appointment (nothing wrong with my 2013 car) then I pick it up and there’s a crack in my windshield.. I didn’t notice it until I left and was on US 19 so I called and the guy said he’d ask his guys and call me back. He calls back and says the guy claims that it was there before they started. Nothing was done about it or even an apology was given so I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

I had the Pioneer DMH-1500NEX installed into my 2018 Nissan Frontier Pro 4X so that I could have apple car play. The experience from the moment I stepped into their store was very professional. Paul is the one that recommended the Pioneer Head unit based on my budget. Dean and Fernando are amazing installers. I am super happy with the experience I had there, Dean was super helpful in explaining the whole Pioneer head unit I had installed. I will be going back to upgrade to some better speakers (I have the Rockford Fosgate speakers...but they are decent but I know I will want better eventually) and an amp and I am excited to have them work on my vehicle again. Top notch service!------ Update: 4/9/2021:A year ago Five Star Car Stereo installed a pioneer head unit in my 2018 Nissan Frontier, however I sold my Frontier too a dealer who was desperately looking for pre owned Frontiers: Few months ago with the money I made off the Frontier I purchased a 2020 Ford Ranger, it desperately needed to upgrade the speakers. Knowing that Five Star did a great job on my last truck, I went back to them to get my Ranger upgraded. Dean assisted me with creating a system within the budget I asked for....with not much out for the Ford Ranger, he came up with the Focal IC Ford 165(6.5 components for the front), and Focal IC Ford 165(coxial for the Rear), and he paired it with the Kicker Key 200.4 AMP), as always they were extremely professional and listen to me. This is my second experience with Paul and Dean and they are awesome. If you need to get your vehicle upgraded, do yourself a favor and give them a chance, they are fantastic and will do the job with precision! Dean took the time to show me everything, and took the time to just sit down and chat/listen to the new system with me. Great customer service.

They did the new head unit and speakers in my truck, could not be happier with the prices and with the speedy install. I also trusted them with my show car. Fernando and Dean did an amazing job with the new head unit and the speakers, showed me how to use everything and even made the steering wheel controls work. Wow. I usually dont write reviews but I just was on the phone with these guys and the guy that answered was completely rude. I was asking about modifying my dash for a stereo unit I bought and he told me why dont I buy a real radio from them, not the trash that I bought. I was looking for somewhere local to install my unit, not to talk crap about my decisions, and not to try and hassle me into buying one of their high end units... I ended up calling discount auto tunes and they quoted me a good rate to fix it, at least they werent a jerk when I called them. The owner needs to read this and take action.

This was the only place in the bay area that had the dash kit for my car in stock (including best buy) brought my car in to get a double din head unit installed and they took care of it right away. Great service would do business with again for sure. Also only place I could find thats open this late on a Saturday

Five star is the best, simple as that! Ive bought all of my power wire, fuses, coax speakers, Kenwood h.u., and other things from these guys and have also asked questions over and over. They are always up for tech questions when you need answers and when they dont have the answer they try to direct you to the right sources. I wont deal with any other shop again!
