Love this place, but do yourself a favor, ask for Hangar Steak. It’s not a regular stocked meat but I am telling you, it’s hard to find a better tasting cut anywhere! Do a little research on what hangar steak is and you’ll see!!I just picked up almost 2 pounds today that they had extra from an order and it’s heaven in your mouth!!

Went in yesterday to browse and was absolutely AMAZED at their selection. My god everything looked perfect and in good quantity! I got a full brisket and some chicken wings/breasts and cannot wait to smoke them! Staff was wonderful and quick to offer suggestions on what spices they sell would pair well with it. Absolutely coming back!

Our favorite local place to get a variety of meat for grilling and smoking. We love trying out their infused chicken and beef tips.We often get their chicken wings, steaks, twice baked potatoes and other pre-made side dishes.Highly recommended for quality meat at a reasonable price.

More than once I got Italian sausage that was rotten. The prices are far higher simply due to location. There are several meat markets in the surrounding area that are far superior in quality and service.

Very nice staff and a lot of different meat packages. They have a lot of marinated meats. They have chicken breasts and wings, beef steaks of all kinds, and different kinds of pork. They also have a lot of other things to make your meal complete, mash potatoes, premade veggies, desserts, chips, BBQ sauce,... Worth a visit and will be coming back.

I love this place! They have awesome quality meats you can pick up, or try one of their meal prep classes when they start up again. Right now you can grab their prepared keto meals that you throw into the crock pot. They also have great side dishes, like Buffalo Cauliflower, smashed potatoes, and others.

Ive been buying meat products from Southern Steer almost every Friday for well over a year. Absolutely the best quality, reasonably priced meat you will find anywhere. Add to that the outstanding customer service and superior cleanliness of the whole facility theres no reason not to make this your go to market for not just meats but great sides, condiments, wine selection, beer selection and everything else you need to put together a super meal. And, if youre one of those that get the heebie jeebies over Covid-19, everybody in the shop is masked up, gloved up, capped and gowned! Happy shopping!

I really wanted to support a local butcher.The only positive I can say is that their prices are fair. Otherwise every cut I’ve purchased here have been excessively fatty, and I mean excessive. On two separate occasions I purchased beef ribs, once on a rack, once short ribs. Both times there was hardly any meat. The entire $30 worth of ribs were majority fat. On top of that the cleanliness of the establishment is poor. The floors are always very sticky and the cases have what looks to be mold or hardened marinades on the internal sides. The cases also do not seem to be evenly cooling as some pieces of meat are browning while others touching them are not, which should be a cause for concern. Very disappointing and I will not be going back.

HOLY COW!!! No, seriously, that cow must have been delivered, in person, by God. These guys have consistently provided me with top quality meat. My last purchase was the butter and garlic marinated sirloin cuts and their house seasoned burger patties (you may never eat a processed restaurant burger again). I live about 40 miles away, but fortunately I occasionally work in their area and plan my route to resupply before I head back home. Their marinades and seasonings are absolutely the best.

Excellent steak tips! Everything I have tried here is fabulous, and all of the workers are pleasant. We go here almost every week. Every time I have a large party I come here and get one of their special packages that include a selection of steak tips, chicken breasts, ground beef and sausage. It is perfect for a large group because there is something for everyone and everyone can find something they like. The steak tips are really incredible!

A great find! Small shop, but they seem to have it all. Many cuts on display, but if you want something, just ask! Many different herbs an sauces available also, as well as an impressive craft beer selection. Super friendly staff guided us through a hard to find cut for a new recipe, and we couldnt be happier. Weve been here a couple of times. Each time, weve gotten their marinated steak. Weve tried a few flavors, and all have been excellent. We also got some t-bones, and those were also very good. They have a nice selection of craft beers, side dishes, sausages, and more that I hope to try soon.

First off; my mother and I heard about Southern Steer from a dear friend who knows we love to cook and quality is important plus a good experience. Well, we walked in and loved the set up of store. It reminded us of the butchers shop in southern Illinois where we grew up. The service is awesome, great selection of unique wine and beer so you dont have to stop at liquor store too before going home. This is the best meat market we have found so far in the entire Tampa area. Groups of our friends drive all the way over from Tarpon Springs passing several dozen locations where you could buy meat along the way. They are known for their excellent seasoned steak tips. Old school traditional butcher shop with some of the best cuts of meat and special items in the Bay Area.

If youre a hunter, they will butcher for you. Bring it dressed and quartered and in a cooler with ice in top.The place is nice an open, very clean and theyve got a very adventurous variety of meat. By Adventurous I dont mean strange meats. Theyve got a whole bunch of really cool and very interesting sounding marinades. Theyre meat is all very high quality, they offer local seafood (which Im always a fan of supporting local businesses) and theyve got it all VERY nicely laid out. They even sell beer and wine there. Technically, you could go buy all of your dinner needs there and just go straight home and cook it up!They also offer catering which is pretty awesome for a butcher. You know when they cook for you that the food will be literally as fresh as you can get it aside from doing it all yourself!

Being from Sharon, Massachusetts, steak tips were always a favorite bbq with friends and family When Southern Steer opened, OMG I was thrilled to see steak tips and already marinated in a variety of flavors. Steakhouse is our favorite but we tried all of them and cant go wrong. Its a wonderful market, has sides, beer, marinades chicken and other cuts of meat. Certainly worth a stop check them out. You wont be disappointed. Best staff ever. Been going there for years!

Their marinated meats are done in a vacuum sealed container that is tumbled for 10 hours to produce a super tender bite. Come check them out and support local business.

Through their Project 52 community sharing program, my family received several meals all prepared to cook. I wanted to make sausage for the first time. The Place smells great. They had everything I needed. I thought the prices were competitive. I will go back again.Best of all my homemade sausages that I made with my son came out GREAT. They were so easy to make and tasted so good.

I can only give them a 2 star review, because of the amount of SALT they use in their marinades, and the viggie side dish we bought. Yes, they have a wide variety, but wont return due to the high amounts of salt. When I opened my fridge today and saw all the leftovers, my heart sank, because I feel like I waisted $60. The staff is beyond friendly, but their sodium intake is just too much.

This place is awesome. Ive had almost everything and have never been disappointed. Ground beef, ny strip, tri tip (bourbon and steakhouse are my favorites), some of the biggest chicken breast Ive ever ordered, brats, thanksgiving Turkey, and today a perfect brisket flat that they ordered and had ready to pickup for me. Some weekends they get busy but its because theyre good. Cant recommend them more.
