Just went there today to pick up a rabbit. Lots of animals! The odor takes your breath away even through a mask upon entering the store. This looks like IT NEEDS RESCUING instead of it being a rescue. Felt so sorry for all of them. I read the other reviews and thought it couldnt be as bad as they said; since they were older reviews. I was wrong. Sadly.
Walked into this store and was hit with a STRONG AMONIA smell!! The whole store is filthy!!! Lots of animals and dirty cages. Pee all over the floors. Cats, kittens and turtles roaming free in the store. I expect much more from a Rescue!! Shameful! Id be embarrassed to open my doors like this. Either they need more help or they need education on cleaning and animal care.
Horrible people run this place. Re-home reptiles that arent healthy, that they know nothing about. The lady behind the counter claims to be the head of some herpetological society but sold me a pair of rat snakes she claimed were high end corn snakes that they kept in an enclosure too small for one of them, together. I wasnt going to post this review after they refused to refund or make right my situation, but I keep seeing them post more reptiles in horrible conditions on Craigslist and I cant let it go on anymore. Stop giving these people money, you will regret your purchase. If you dont believe me, check craigslist I guarantee theyre selling a sick snake theyre keeping on newspaper for sale.
Horrible! The one star is for the poor husband who knows nothing but helped with any question I had. The smell is ridiculous and I feel so sorry for not just the animals that are there but also their kid that runs around not being watched. How can anyone breathe with all the ammonia??? My throat was burning and my kids wanted to leave as soon as we arrived. (When do kids wanna leave a pet store???) Needless to say, I will NEVERgo back!
It appears to be no longer in business, just wasted our time coming here.
If I could give it a negative stars I would. Sick kittens! I purchased a kitten 11 days ago, they met me at the Jewelry store thats attached to the pet store. Said would have health certificate and shot records on Monday, as vet was closed. I inquired about skin irritation on kitten and was told she previously had fleas and was highly allergic.. Ater a week of the run around I called their vet he would not release records due to none payment. Took kitten to my vet yesterday, ring worm, scabies or mange ear mites, fever, conjunctivitis under weight. My other cat is now showing signs of ringworm, as are my husband and I. Pinellas County has an open investigation on this location. Buyer beware!
This place is really gross. The rabbits are in the middle of the owners work shop (rabbits are extremely sensitive) the cats that are running around have some serious skin issues. The reptiles.. don’t even get me started. Poor health when asked about a price husband has to message wife because he doesn’t know. Kids are running around. I was just disappointed in the lack of care or the animals they are “rescuing”
Great little family owned business that weve used even before the new location. Their prices are super fair & the have a great trade in value! They also take in unwanted pets and find them their furever homes. I highly suggest Used Pet Supply & Trading Co to all my friends with pets!
Store is open Monday through Saturday 11 AM to 5 PM...we got here at 11:15 AM and the store is not open! Shouldn’t advertise the hours that you are open but then no one is here in the store.
Excellent service! Friendly owner and cute friendly pets. I traded items for store credit and wont hesitate to do business here when I am in Clearwater.
Great place to get or get rid of used pet supplies. Great concept. Great people.
Shopped here recently I bought a bulb for reptile enclosure, was told it was brand new but it didnt work when i tested it in at home (light fixture works fine with my other lights so it is the actual bulb) also I saw some animals in very poor conditions which was very discouraging. Particularly a young beardie that appeared very underweight, possibly with MBD and was climbing looking for some heat but had no light whatsoever on his enclosure? Also was given some questionable advice for my pets from the owner/manager.Not to mention there were children running around in the store and it looked like a daycare was in the back which confused us a bit?I appreciate the customer service and the friendliness of the employees but I was overall disappointed with store and wont return. :(If youre looking for exotic pet/reptile supplies in the area check out Herp Hobby Shop in Oldsmar! They never disappoint Im gonna stick with them from now on.
Unique store. What they do is original. No other store does what they do with pet supplies. They also take in rescue animals and rehab them back to health then adopt them to good homes after education of what animal needs.
Great prices, good selection friendly people. Support small business!
Ive been here twice now; each time Ive had a great experience. My first time I didnt think too much of the place, only cause I wasnt looking around too much, just coming to get food for my rats. BUT my second time being there it was great. I got to meet the owner and talk to her a bit about the place. I came to get a cage and left with two for a very reasonable price offered by the owner herself. Her animals are all kept in appropriate caging and are clean as can be. There is no smell whatsoever there. The animals are well loved and taken care of and people really seem to enjoy the shop when there. She used to have a whole bunch of Guinea Pigs and recently a lot have been adopted out. Im happy to say she is doing a good job helping the animals and finding them good places to live.If youre looking for lightly used pet supplies while youre on a budget, I would recommend this store 100%. Even if you havent been yet and you are weary of going, Id say give it a shot. Youll never know if you dont go and experience it yourself!
Great store. Everybody is nice.
Great people and a good place.
Absolutely LOVE LCB! They have great prices on things, while everything is used, its gently used. Ive taken in animals before that were in need of rehoming and they got new homes right away. My family recently got 2 awesome ferrets from them and a bunny. Arielle is really sweet and informative. David is a hoot! Thanks for having such a great store!
Nice people and good service, but I cant imagine how people are saying there isnt an odor. Its intense and starts to burn your eyes and throat. I wanted to browse more, but I couldnt stay. It smells like every dirty hamster cage x100 and with some effort it could be mitigated. Ill be back in hopes it improves.
LCB Pet Supply is growing fast. They filled a need for a local pet shop in Dunedin. Great store. Getting better all the time. Everyone ends up with some pet supplies they no longer need and LCB will give store credit for your trades. Animals are well kept and Arielle is knowledgeable on what she sells.
Got a great deal on a 40 gal hexagon fish tank and stand, only $90! No leaks or anything! We also got another fish tank for a great price and some accessories. The girl that works there was nice and very helpful and the owner answered questions even though she wasnt at the store.
Always helpful in making sure they get chicken feed when I need it if they dont already have it in the store. The animals are surrendered so she is finding homes for them :) Great prices on used pet products. Highly recommend!
Just stopped in there today to see if I could find a cheap hose for cleaning my jellyfish tank and surprisingly they had one for cheap. Not a huge store but the customer service was excellent and I was greeted by a super friendly kitty. Would definitely stop by here anytime I was looking for pet supplies.
Great prices and even trading value!
I will never go back to this store. I have been in this store many times before. I went in today to buy water bottles for my Dumbo Rats. The owner and another individual were talking about African Soft Furs a type of rat. I over heard it and got interested. I wanted to see one. My wife heard and realized that they were about to feed a pinkie which is a new born baby rat. We left the store immediately. The store should have either done it in the back of the store out of site or not during hours of operations. I understand that the snake has not eaten since January and needs to eat. There is an appropriate way to feed animals. Not everyone agrees or wants to be a round when this is being done.
Super great idea. I am a shopper that believes its better to have too much than not enough. However there comes a time when you need to get rid of the extra stuff you dont need. I was able to trade in alot of my used items and I believe I got a fair exchange. Considering I would have thrown it all out anyway! Lots of variety for all types of pets. Decent prices. I will definitely be back. My only complaint was the amount of dust and dirt and grime there was. You have to be very determined to hunt that bargain in order to get past all that dust build up.
This place is a 35 minute drive to get there from my house. But I love going there. They have wonderful used products to chose from and the selection is very GOOD. One of the go to pet shop I always go to looking for new treasure for my hamsters, dogs, and fishes. Plus their prices are simply to die for!!!
Its essentially a thrift store for pet supplies and unwanted pets. The owner is nice but she sells everything as is which more often than not means covered in filth, grime, cobwebs, and roach egg clusters. That would be fine if she didnt price everything at almost new prices. The last couple times I tried to go there recently, the store was closed with no signs stating why.
Disgusted!!! I Was there today searching for water bottles for my dumbo rats. My husband overheard a man with a tank mentioning African soft furs (hes been dying to see one in person). He was just about to walk over to the man and the owner until I noticed he was there FEEDING his pinkies to her snakes! I understand all animals have to eat but I found it inappropriate and very unprofessional to do during business hours, on the sales floor. Good deals or not thats the last time I step foot in that store.
Best little place ever. Arielle and her family really do love the animals. She does her best to keep everything clean, and all the animals happy and healthy! I go every week to get the supplies I need for my critters!
Store is clean and you can get used animal supplies for a good price. Also takes in trades and you can use that credit for supplies that are actually useful for you. :)
The owner is very nice and pleasant. The store itself is dirty and the smell is very unpleasant. The carpets are stained as well. We didnt really get to look around too long as we couldnt tolerate the odor.
My experience here has always been phenomenal. I was a first time reptile owner and they helped me every step of the way. I was even told that I could always call them if any questions ever came up. Their prices are less than half of Petco and Petsmart. Ive seen them take in multiple unwanted pets, rehabilitate them, and find them good, forever homes for what seems to be little or no profit. They truly care.
We went because I needed a wheel for my dwarf hamster and it smelled like ammonia. The owner had the animals living in their own pee. She had two kids who couldve helped clean the cages. And I saw a robo dwarf with the WORST care I have ever seen. He/she had a really small tank, cotton, and an inappropriate wheel. The only reason I would go back is to get a critter trail cage to add some space to her 50 gallon tank.
Love the owner. She is so sweet and knows alot about beardies!!!
I went to this store today and saw that all the reptiles had little or no water. There is two chameleons that had no water dish or water dropper. There was a hermit crab cage and the water dish had no water in it. There was a gerbil that had babies two days ago and the water dropper had brown water in it!!! The owner of the store was openly telling everyone in the store that she was getting kicked out of the store spot which is very unprofessional. The smell of the store is DISGUSTING you should only come here if you want to save these animals!!! Im calling Pinellas country to report them and I hope these animals get help soon.
I did not like this place. It smells and is dirty. All the cages and tanks for sale were still dirty from the previous owners. Just icky. Not great great prices honestly. I wont be back.

Thought the shop was exactly what was advertised. Dont know what smell these people were referring to. Perhaps they have been to too many corporately sterilized national entities.
Bad..... I will never return to this joke of a store. I dont think this place should have animals.
Ariel is very knowledgeable and helpful! Best prices around!
Terrible place
