I originally spoke with Chris who went above and beyond locating the item I was interested in purchasing. When I went to my store Emma too went above and beyond and then helped me load my car. I cant say enough about the Clearwater store and their staff. Thank you for helping me with my sons gift. We will definitely be going there for our future boating needs.

Don’t buy the float saddles. We kept ours on the porch out of the sun. We only sat on them. No rough housing. Both saddles tore in the middle. They are not cheap to buy. We took them back and MW said yes they do that and we don’t return them. Will never shop there again.

Customer service is courteous and patient.

I bought a floor model depth finder. Was promised it was in working condition and it was not. The sonar constantly goes in and out. When I attempted to return the item they informed me that they would not accept a return. Ive only had the product a week and they want to send it for a warranty claim. That will take weeks to be resolved and I need it for a trip. Wont be shopping here again.Customer service is also very poor. Was put on hold several times for a simple question and the people were less than pleasant.I will be contacting corporate hopefully they can resolve my issue.

I just want to warn everyone about West Marine. So I bought something from the store with my debit card and then asked my wife to return around $100 just extra items my mechanic asked for but didn’t need. So my wife was not able to get the credit put back on my debit card even though she had the receipt. So we got a gift and this is where it gets really bad. So of coarse having a boat we bought more items and this time online huge mistake. So they put a hold on our gift card for the same amount as the purchase and so today I went to get more boat stuff and tried to use the rest of the gift card but that was a no go. So we called and found out about this hold they put on their gift card and that was two weeks ago and now they are saying another week to get my own money back. Just a word of advise don’t mess with west marine gift cards. Don’t buy them for anyone!

Owning a Boat can be a joy or a headache depending on the day of the week. When shopping for a part or a product at West Marine makes that headache much less painful. With a professional staff eager to assist you, always knowing the parts and products they carry. It makes your shopping fast and pleasurable.

Super helpful and friendly staff here, but the location does not seem to be as well stocked as other locations Ive been to. This could also be a factor of Covid so Ill give them the benefit of the doubt thats is just temporary.

I have been a customer of this store for over a year now, having experienced West Marine stores in Maryland and Virginia. After having spent many thousands of $ at this store while rehabbing my boat, I can tell you I havent met a more professional crew. They are knowledgeable, pleasant and thorough. Yes, they occasionally have had employees that dont meet standards, but they dont last long...any business owner would empathize. You just need to talk to a manager about those issues. If you spend a little time using some basic conversational and adult social skills, you will find that these guys know their stuff and are happy to pass along their knowledge. Now for some helpful stuff: Ive shopped extensively for boat parts, electronics, hardware etc. on my restoration project and here are some of my conclusions. Their parts are competitively priced and if you are lucky enough to have Sierra aftermarket parts for your engine, youll not get a cheaper price even on-line (after shipping). Dan, the parts manager, knows his stuff and will honestly tell you if there is a better deal to be had. Ive had repair work done here and the shop is very detailed in their work...no shortcuts that will leave you stranded on the water with a $250 Tow Boat bill. The hardware and other merchandise isnt the cheapest to be found on-line (once again check shipping costs first) but the quality of what they carry isnt matched. Ive bought everything needed to outfit a boat from the waterline up and used it almost every week with no malfunctions. Be a smart customer and you cant do better with these guys.

West Marine tries very hard to make every customer happy. Expensive yes, however they have an extensive in-house and online inventory. Associate support totally depends on the individual, not everyone is knowledgeable about boats. They (WM) is also shifting away from marine supply to active clothing.

Overpriced, very little sailing gear, staff doesnt know their products.

No longer a service center. No longer a Mercury Marine dealer. I though the new location wouldve been a great upgrade, but no. They are only a retail outlet now. Save your $$ and order online from another retailer. A blessing in disguise.

A necessary evil in the boating world. Yes I really like West Marine. It really is a nice store. I just wish I could go in and get what I want for less than a couple of hundred dollar bill every time I go in. A boat is a hole in the water that we throw money in. West Marine keeps me going, but they are the place that the hole drains to. Thanks for being professional and helping me with what ever I need. Your products are great, I just wish I could come in and buy those stainless screws, without ending up with a couple of shirts, and some new shoes to go with them.

Great place for parts and equipment... yes, you might pay a little more, but the return policy and the ability to peruse various models, styles, etc is unmatched. very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Much bigger than the south tampa store. Captain Tony was beyond helpful and we were grateful to have run into him in the store. As new boaters, he took time to explain different products to us. His time was much appreciated!

Friendly people but the worst prices for what they are selling anywhere. I very much recommend shopping on Amazon over West as you will save 25 to 50% on just about everything you can purchase in the store. Personally, I dont go in a West Marine anymore unless Im about to have a catastrophic system failure on board.

I wanted to say thanks. I came in there with an electronic problem. This was just before a long distance kayak race. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. They were able to fix my problem. One less thing to worry about. It was much appreciated. Looking forward to the new store.

This West Marine is always clean and very organized. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Occasionally, you can find really good sales here too. Also, little known fact, this West Marine does boat repairs in-house.

Compared to other stores this one is small already and I think half the store is clothing items. Someone there needs to take a 101 course in ordering inventory because they suck at it. Every time Ive been in there the thing I went to get is sold out. Dont wast your time go to Amazon its cheaper and you will get it faster.

Majority of the staff here, are useless and rude. They make everything a hassle, especially if you bought something at another west marine. With the amount of money people spend here they should be willing to go above and beyond for any issue. Its a shame theres not more marine stores locally, cause if there were this would be bottom of list to get supplies at.
